Silly Question, but would the moto 360 2nd Gen (wireless) charge the S7E - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Just got me pondering if the moto 360 charger would work for the S7E?

I don't see why not. The S7E works with my LG wireless charger.

If it is Qi or Powermat compatible, it will charge the S7.

It will charge albeit exceptionally slowly. The Moto 360 has a roughly 400mAh battery and takes about an hour to fully charge. If you do the math you can see it is not practical to charge the S7 Edge that way.

Turbo Charger Experience

I just plugged my phone into the turbo charger I bought from amazon (quick charge 2.0). Was at 14%, have it 15 minutes, and only got to 36%. This surprised me... Would have expected better.
This phone is QC 2.0 compatible, right? I've seen much better results on the n6. I'll have to try that charger later.
Anyone else have an experience?

Does powering via a non quick charger harm the battery?

Since the cable from the original motorola quick charging plug is too short I use my old one from the SGS2 to charge it over night. Will this harm the battery in any ways?
Nope.

Ok thanks
just because I'm curious: Does ist harm the battery from phones without quick charge support if I plug them on the quick charge cable from the Motorola?

Ha! I was just wondering this. Glad I read your thread before I posted.
I've been charging other devices with the quick charger. So far, my BT headphones, BT speaker, and my 10.5 tablet. They all charge more quickly than on the chargers they came with, or PC USB (obv). Hopefully it isn't damaging their batteries. I don't think it is, but I don't have anything other than intuition with which to back that claim.

The Motorola cable is supposed to switch to the lower charge speed when it is plugged into a non-QC device. Whether it actually does or not is beyond me, but it is supposed to be smart enough to not kill your other devices batteries.

The Moto charger will not harm non-TurboCharge devices and the MXPE can use any regular charger.

Using Samsung Fast Charger To Charge Phone?

So I my moto charger got destroyed by my dang dog and I'm using a Samsung Fast Charger that came with my wife's note 5. It just says "charging" and its still very slow. It's 2.0a at 5v I believe or 1.6a at 9 or 10v. Yet its still slow. Any recommendations? On marshmallow.
Can anyone help shed light on this?

That's not a qc charger. Hence the slow charging. It's 5v only whereas quick chargers also do 9 and 12 volt.

I don't think the Samsung ones use quick charge 2.0. Even though the galaxy s6/note 5 can use quick charge 2.0 capable charger. I think they use a proprietary Samsung fast charge tech in their own chargers.
So it would charge your phone but at the regular 5v2a. I would recommend getting a quick charge 2.0 capable charger. I have a couple from tronsmart and they are great.

Well I've used the Samsung charger and it says "5v @ 2.0 and then says 9v @1.6. I have it hooked up but its so very very slow. I'm getting 2% charge every 30 mins or so. I ran ampere and I'm getting 3.7V and its stuck on " charging via USB". Anyway to change that from USB to AC? THANK YOU guys for chiming in. I have 6 cords and 3 bricks, 2 Samsung and one of.
My note 4 chargers power charges my MXPE and fast charger.

My s6 charger works great on my moto x style... In 15 minutes i get almost 25% battery!moreover the phone recognize it as turbopower...
Ok hooked up to Samsung charger from note 5. Anything look wrong?

It's showing 'usb charger', which should be very very slow...
you sure you are connected to a wall charger?
It should say 'AC Charger'
I have the power brick in the wall and cable running from it to the phone.

He means a proper fast charger will show AC charging. USB charging means slow.

Not if it's the typical 5volt 2amp version. Couple that up with the fact the moto X pure is picky about what quick chargers even work with it period and you have a harder time finding one that works.
Start by reading this thread.. then get yourself a replacement that has been reported to work with this phone.

For what it is worth, the Asus quick charger that came with my ZenFone2 charges the MXPE like a champ. Is there a better spot for me to share that information?

I have the Aukey quick charger as my office spare, and it works quite well. Not as fast as the motorola turbo charger, but quite faster than regular 2A chargers.
Guys or ladies, got a new charger from Motorola and it charges "charging USB" and its slow as hell charging. Any ideas? Stock marshmallow.

If it isn't the Turbopower 25 like this one then that's your problem. The phone might not be getting enough voltage.
Link is dead but its this one

Wireless Charging

Thinking about getting one of these cheaper third party charging pads from Amazon but was curious as to wheter or not I need a special case for the device or if wireless charging works out of the box with any compatible pad. I ask because my LG G3 supported wireless charging but you need a special battery cover/case to use it and I wasn't about to do all that haha. Thanks!

I ordered the Samsung knock off from Amazon and it works fine with my case

The S7 and Edge support wireless charging out of the box. No accessories necessary (except for the wireless charger, of course).
I bought a stupid cheap one for my g3, works great on s7e...

Do the 3rd party wireless support fast charging?
I don't think so as mine is a bit slower than just plugging it in but I use it for the overnight charge anyway...

My S7 Edge does fast wireless charging on this. Very quick. You have to make sure to use the Adaptive QC Charger that came with your S7 Edge or another QC Adaptive charger.

Yea I just read the reviews. It's the equivalent to the knock off Samsung fast wireless charger that I also got on amazon. 2 hour charge. Not bad but wish someone had a charger that is just as fast as the wired one

Fast wireless charging is pretty quick, this is the fastest you'll get wirelessly at the current moment. If you want any faster you have to plug in.

Bought this one weeks and go it it works great! for my S7 Edge on fast and my Note 4 on standard wireless charge speed.

Suggest me best quick charger to buy

Are there any other quick charger available in market which charges faster then OEM turbo charger???
Sent from my Moto G4 Plus using Tapatalk
Nothing is better than moto turbo power! It's way faster
Sent from my Moto G4 Plus using Tapatalk
I've read the Anker (and Aukey too?) brand of QC 2.0/3.0 chargers are good quality and could be cheaper than Moto Turbo chargers. Besides, I'm not sure if QC chargers would vary that much in charging speed, as I imagine the power management would regulate the current/voltage as if it were a stock charger. There's a limit to how much power you can feed into your battery!
Means turbo charger is best for our Moto??

If you want to ensure compatibility - yes, though any charger with Quick Charge 2.0 (certified, ideally) should be okay.
Just make sure, with either a Moto Turbo charger or 3rd party charger, you buy a genuine charger.
