At&T Galaxy S7 - Sony Camera Sensor - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

So I got the At&T Galaxy S7 from At&T and have the Sony camera sensor in it. I dont like the yellows and after watching all the comparison shots between the Sony and Samsung camera sensor in the S7 I think the Samsung one is clearly better.
I saw the poll here to see which sensor people got and it looks like most have the Sony sensor in them. And all the AT&T people said they have the Sony sensor. I dont bother to return my phone if all the AT&T phones have the Sony sensor anyway.
My question is: Does anyone have the AT&T Galaxy S7 or S7Edge with the Samsung Britecell sensor? Where did you buy it from?
Thanks

In the end, no one will say "Hey! Nicely printed 12 megapixel photos, I can see they clearly have the Sony sensor". Or "Hey! Nice pictures you uploaded on facebook, what sensor did they have? I am dying to know" [emoji23] [emoji23]

Camera comparison: Xperia Z1 / LG G2 / Galaxy S4 / Galaxy Note 3 and... Google Glass

Hi,
here is another of my photo comparison. This time I have Sony Xperia Z1, LG G2, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and... Google Glass! Enjoy (even if it's written in italian)!

Your comparing a 5mp camera up against flagship phones with better sensors and higher pixel density. Glass would be better compared against a Galaxy Nexus lol. But cool pics, and thanks for sharing. Some Glass pics come out just as good as some 8mp cameras out there!

Including Google Glass on this comparison was just for fun
Glass picture
The specificity of Glass' camera is that is has a very wide field of view - it's almost a fisheye. It makes sense: as you wear it, you expect when taking a picture to capture what you see within your field of view.... so the lens was engineered that way.
Phone cameras have narrower field of view (but autofocus.... flash, etc.... - Glass doesn't have autofocus neither flash (obviously))

S7 Edge and Gear VR - FOV and light leak?

I would love to hear an in depth review of the S7 Edge with the consumer Gear VR. I currently have Note 4 and had the innovator edition last year but sold it on after a few months. I've the S7 Edge on pre-order and was excited about getting the consumer version bundled with it. I was in a Samsung store today and tried the consumer version they had on display with an S6 attached and I was left a little underwhelmed. It's going back almost a year since I had the Note 4 innovator and despite my delight at being able to wear my glasses with the new version the FOV certainly seemed reduced and I could detect the edge on the periphery. But it was nothing major though, especially as I'm essentially getting it free of charge.
What I would really like to know though is there much of a trade off with the S7 Edge. I was so torn between getting the standard S7 or the Edge and decided to go with the Edge for the larger screen/battery but if it is significantly inferior to the standard S7 I can change my order. I was reading that John Cormack mentioned on Twitter that the standard S7 would be sharper with less FOV but that the Edge would also possibly bleed light and make it uncomfortable. He later apparently retracted the statement and stated he was thinking of the S6 and not the S7 however other forums don't take him at his word and believe the retraction may have been to do with bolstering the S7 sales. Personally I would rather just hear an honest review from someone that has it in their hands, I've been scouring Youtube and Google but all I ever find are mind numbing unboxing videos and no testing commentary.
If anyone on here has it I would be so grateful for an opinion.

Galaxy s7 edge front camera blurry. Possible defect?

Hi, last couple of weeks I purchased 3 galaxy s7 edge's from which only one had the front facing camera clear and very sharp, the other 2 were very blurry whenever i tried to take pics with it, yes the beautifying mode was off. I think its a hardware problem with the phones. Try to hold a text or with large or small letters and take a pic with your phone if its blurry then your phone has a defective front camera . Please check.
Went to T-Mobile store today and checked the front cam side by side one with s7 one with edge. And turns out my phone was defective. Those 2 phones were taking sharper pictures. So i exchange with another one and this one is perfect. So its not software related, it is hardware.

Note 5 camera and s7 camera

Hello i got an question about my s7 Flat G930F
My camera glass was broken and now there came water in to it ,
Nothing did happend but except my camera isnot working anymore when i open app camera it stays on black screen and it says it cant find the hardware,
I got here an note 5 with broken lCD
And i saw that the camera is exact the same as the s7 camera and my question is will it work if i switch the note 5 camera with the s7?
I dont care if this will have effect on the quality
Thank you
I don't claim to be an expert here; this is a sketchy process. However, if it turns out that the camera module fits in the same spot, and the cable properly connects to the S7 motherboard, then I think it's worth a shot. I have no idea if those two requirements are true though, and some unforeseen mismatch between the S7 software and the new camera's hardware could still ruin things. It's a really interesting project though, and worth a try if you're willing. If you go through with it, post your results!
i am planning to give this a try, i think its working the same like pc hardware and if i compare them on google they look exact the same so i think this will work but i thought i ask it here,
i will post the results if this will work
The camera module is totally different though. Even if it fit, I doubt it will work.

I have already taken the camera out of the note5 and what I saw on that camera is that there was G920F so that means that the s6 camera is also in note 5? So I find it strange if it does not work on a s7

That doesn't make sense to me.
The camera on note 5 is the same with s6 doesn't mean it's the same with S7 (and it isn't).

Good luck but like the guy above said i think its a long shot for a s7e...
Note 5 and s6 are very similiar infact in UK they never released Note 5 just the s6+

Would you consider upgrading to S9?

Sure this is pure speculation but according to the leaks, the core design is same as S8 with even more screen to body ratio. They haven't cracked the fingerprint under display so it's on the back below the camera. And it may have Samsung's new 512GB storage.
With this, would you still consider upgrading your S8 to S9?
Nope. S8+ has been perfect for me as a phone (barring a screen issue) so I'll keep it until it dies.
Same here. Nothing in the Note 8 or the S9 that looks like a worthy upgrade from the S8+.
Absolutely not. Hate edges, back glass, and these stupid top and bottom black bezels which with 18.5:9 screen looks horrible.
Plus lag. I am going for the pure android ie oneplus 6, and Sony Edge or mate 11
Nah, this device does everything so well. It will take a much larger leap forward.
S9 will run on oreo, meaning treble is built in, meaning aosp android has to boot.... aosp android has to boot! Wubba lubba dub dub *****es!
I see no reason to go to Samung. Current S8+ is completely satisfied with performance, etc.
In the S9 I did not notice any breakthrough technologies to consider the transition to it. Dual camera??? Best processor??? it's all evolution, I'm waiting for something revolutionary ))))
The s8+ is probably the last Samsung device i will own, but, credit is due where its due. The S8+, hands down has been and pretty sure will be hard to beat for maybe a year maybe 2. This phone, although a bunch of headacjes, has been the best phone ive ever owned and ive went tbrough a lot of phones. The speed on this is perfect, though, the touchscreen pisses me off. Cant text any words correctly. But as far as upgrading to the S9, there is no reason to unless you are an like an apple junkie that chases the newest things out for no apparent reason. The S8/S8+ handsdown best on the market. Stamped with approval by me haha.
I normally keep my phones for years, I ran my Note 3 right up until I received my S8+, but I am eagerly searching for a new phone. I will never again buy a phone with any sort of curved edge to it. You just cannot find a tempered glass screen protector that actually functions correctly with it. I guess I really should have looked into it before pre-ordering 3 of these things for my kids and myself. It's extremely heartbreaking, because I love the Galaxy and Note line of phones. But, for the love of God Almighty, give me a flat screen! I also concur completely with prfraczek on the bezels and back glass. Straight up disappointing.

if price is 500 USD, i will buy one.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
No way, the S8+ is perfect and most of us have a 2 year contract. Most reviews I've read about about S8+ v Note 8 says there's no comparison or the S8+ wins.
Honestly I was expecting a giant leap with iPhone X like bezel less design without a notch and a finger print scanner beneath the glass. Vivo even demonstrated it few months ago and I dunno why Samsung is reluctant to use it. Maybe they are holding onto these stuffs for galaxy 10 or something.

How do you imagine where the light sensor, infrared sensor and front camera would be without bezels? popping out of the side?
See mi mix 2?
But I am not fan of it

The only logical placement for the front camera and ambient/proximity sensor is on a notch like iPhone X or in the 'eye' like in the essential phone.
I've never know Samsung devices to have an IR blaster, at least after the Galaxy S6 era
As for the fingerprint sensor, don't you know that FP sensors are in the sides beneath the power button like in Xperia Z series and even the new Razer phone.
Meizu has a device in the works that has separate power button and FP sensor in the side bezel. Gotta see what type of convince it offers.

Why do you dislike Mi Mix2? I actually have it as a backup phone and it's really a powerful and well built device. Except for the front facing camera in the bottom but I'd rather have it in the bottom than having an annoying notch ruining the experience.

Project treble is not built in...
I love the Galaxy S8+, but I'm going to need an Exynos device clearly next year, I would have loved to see pure AOSP because I think Samsung should just stick to hardware and let Google manage software. Snapdragon variants battle people that hold this view.

Every phone running oreo from the start has it built in, and s9 will run oreo according to leaked geekbench scores.
