Any info about Android 6.0 for ALE-L04? - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have not found anything about Marshmallow update for the US version of P8 Lite.
Does anybody know if there is an official Beta available?
Thank you!

Hello, personally I have passed really a lot of times on this device's since mm and before, I mean looking for huawei announcements, but I only know the beta 5.1.1 for USA(beta2015). Never have heard or read anything about mm for the US variant.
Maybe the most easy is to directly ask huawei US. by the website of by facebook .
The ALE L02,L21/single and double sim,L23,and Chinese TL00 and UL00 have the same's hardware and also we can install the same's build. ( with location modifications for Chinese build's on European device's )
But the most important to know is the US variant have the Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 - quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 with Adreno 405 and the European like mine have HiSilicon Kirin 620 chipset - octa-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A53 with Mali-450MP4 GPU;*
I'm sure it's why the development will be on a different states.

Yes, that is why I was asking. Because the different hardware I suppose that the US version needs its own build...
I will try asking Huawei US as you suggested.
I will post it I get anything.
Thank you.

Haha, not very informative their answer.
That sounds to me like they will not update it...
I sent an email to customer support but still no answer.
Thank you jabonloco.

I have got an email answer from CS and they say that there is no info about an update...
I think this version will be stuck on 5.1.1

Sadly, the same answer here... i think that the only way to get Android MM running on this device is only possible with a custom rom, the sources of this phone can be downloaded to build an AOSP based rom or we could port any rom from a similar device like Motorola X Play (same CPU and GPU).

Looks like we are still abandoned, am I right?
Anybody has info about roms for ours ALE-L04?
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using XDA-Developers mobile app

Are all the MM discussions in this board not relevant to our US ALE-L04?

yep, at the moment mm its only for the kirin variant

I do not think this phone is abandoned. I do think, however, that development is slowing some and you will see Marshmallow come to the handset late in its life cycle.

Still nothing, and their support only says that they have no info about the update... When MM arrive (if ever), they will have released P10 hehe.
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using XDA-Developers mobile app

There wont be any upgrade to 6.0 for Ale-l04, at least not this year.
Someone told me that when ale-l21 will get update for android n, maybe then the us version will get 6.0, but i'm not sure how true is this information.
The guy said it's nothing sure yet, but there is a possibility.

Firmware ALE-L21
I want to know if the ROM for ALE-L21 (Europe) work on ALE-L04..

No, it won't work. They have different processors.
BTW, still no update for the ALE-L04. I am sure I won't repeat buying Huawei.
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using XDA-Developers mobile app

So you are still on Marshmallow? If someone uploads the rom, let me know, I might add it to the list of things to do whenever I am not busy.

If ALE-L04 sold poorly in the North American market (and I think it did poorly), you will most likely never get Marshmallow.

Nothing yet I guess?

I think the design is a downgrade compared to the previous model
The specs though are really good
I like that it still has 1080p display, that means less battery consumption
5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen
Snapdragon 808 SoC with hexa-core CPU
3GB of RAM
64GB of storage
21 MP rear camera with dual-tone flash
8 MP selfie shooter
4G LTE, dual-SIM functionality
3,500 mAh battery
Android 5.1.1 Lollipop
Anyone knows the price tag?

Where can i get the full specs for the Lenovo Vibe X3? I want to get more details.
according to head-fi this phone has some serious audio hardware. and as they so rightly say, the hardware isn't all that matters, it's also the implementation of said hardware. i can't find any reviews on this phone anywhere with regards to its audio, such as volume levels, whether the sabre dac functions outside the stock music app, or anything else. is this a good phone as an alternative to the v10? there's no xda entry yet, and if it has similar pains of "no outside-stock-music-app" dac support, then how's about a hack? details people!
I have found this http://support.lenovo.com/fr/fr/products/phones/vibe-series/x3/downloads/ds105747
Maybe this can help for custom firmware on the X3a40 (which is the international version).

And developers plz create a thread and at least help us remove unnecessary lenovo apps by installing the stock rooted rom minus bloatware ....
I tried with Framaroot, but it doesn't work for me.
ONe of the first hacks to try would be to port the LEnovo FM app to this devices ..hoping that the hardware supports this
I got mine 2 days back.
I can confirm that on Indian variant (x3a40) the bootloader is locked.
The simple fastboot oem unlock command couldn't unlock it.
Also, I was unable to root it using any of the usual tricks or any of the guides currently available.
I will dig more and let you guys know if anything changes.

Hey, Honor 5X (KIW L24) Gets the Mashmellow Update in the US

Starting today, we are pleased to begin rolling out the highly anticipated Marshmallow update in the US. As part of this update, Honor 5X will also be receiving EMUI 4.0.
Is there anyway to force update it? Update is not showing up when I manually check in settings.
Super pumped to take marshmallow for a spin
I haven't been able to update either... I guess we just have to wait.
Update does not appear here too!
More: http://www.hihonor.com/us/blogs/honor-5x-gets-the-marshmallow-update/130547/
Forced update dial code *#*#2846579158#*#* does not work, fyi...
Between here, Honors' .com site and their US Facebook,
I don't see a Single user reporting the update.
Edit: I see one on Facebook, lol
If anyone gets the update or finds a download link please post here.
In the Facebook thread there's a guy named Mario who got it. The only confirmed one to get it so far if you guys want to try and teach him how to capture the OTA.

ok champ before you get all wired,
1. I know the phone does not come with an NFC chip in it.
2. I know this thread is for the MM update that Honor USA is lying about releasing.
3. I have already search about this in other threads, obviously to no avail.
4. Do you have input/ or are looking to bust somebodies chops on the internet.
Defensive much?
Let me answer your question about the NFC Sim, probably not. Probably not for all the tea in China. And this thread is about capturing the MM update which did come out because people on FB are confirming they got it.

N Development

Let's talk about Android Nougat on the idol 3. At this moment, it really looks like we will get official cm this time around. After we get everything working cm-14 should be more stable. The only worries I have is radio and audio. As of now there aren't any known devices getting Nougat with a snapdragon 615 processor so getting updated blobs may take us quite a while a month or so. Or we may have to wait for a new device to release.

Idol3 is still a fantastic phone, I'm still running marionette cm12.1 and 7 months later it still works perfectly. But if I were buying now, I'd probably go for something newer. However it'll be very hard to find another model with same performance and studio quality for the same price.

what are the chances of getting android 9?

Would Huawei even consider developing android 9 for the p10 lite or are the newer devices only receiving it?

I'd say slim to none given Huawei's track record. The only reason I would see it change is if Treble makes it that much easier for them and they actually did go through the trouble of enabling support for that with the Oreo update.
People booted Android P today on our device with Treble, so you will have it, but not officially though.
Better anything than nothing hehe

There's some people who are still waiting for the official OREO OTA update & that was released a year ago :crying:
so my guess is 'Zero'
Well, Google releasing the source code is not the same so Oreo has been rolling out for the P10 lite for a few months. It's possible we'll get Pie in a year. It's just unlikely as Huawei would rather you buy a new phone.

'Google' OREO update was released a year ago, but 'Huawei' OREO updates has only been about 4 months (I think the OREO 'Beta' program started the beginning of May) - my mistake
Mind you it is still 5-6 months a lot of us have been waiting for an official non-beta firmware update (B197 was released Dec 17/Jan 18 IIRC)...
..... Huawei are soooooo slooowww on updates
