Redmi 3 Developer Rom and Unlock Bootloader Guide - Xiaomi Redmi 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi all,
Developer Rom is out and bootloader can be unlocked already.
http://en.miui.com/thread-228054-1-1.html

i'm a noob when it comes to xiaomi, what are the benefits of using Dev ROM?, is it already rooted?, is it comes with superSU?

You can get root even with not dev rom, developper rom will be used to unlock bootloader and when available, flash recovery then later custom roms

anyone succeeded in unlocking their device?, i can't even apply for permission to unlock, the portal is busted

Developer ROM is not rooted, root permissions say something chinese fastboot... It might start working after bootloader is unlocked.
Edit: Language problem was wrong font.

So i guess i still need to unlock it to use root

TWRP by cofface install ROOT with SuperSU app

Just to clarify again for all new folks to unlocking bootloader and rootIng our R3. One have nothing to do with the other. You dont have to unlock your bootloader in order to root. Every single official release for R3 can be rooted with one, simple app.
When it comes to unlocking bootloader, now thats a different story and quite long process, but completely worth it because as much as I like the Xiaomi hardware I cant stand their MiUi.
If I have managed to unlock it, it cant be that difficult.

Please help, on MiFlash my device doesn't appear COM. Whats wrong?
It saying cant flash, device locked!

You must be in DOWNLOAD MODE, locked i think write, when you in Fastboot mode

Download mode
Yes, I was in Fastboot mode, not Download mode. Thanks!
For those who are facing the same problem, to enter in downlaod mode: turn off device, hold vol up + vol down, connect usb cable from computer on device, release vol up vol down button. Screen should be black.

How long have you been waiting since you applied the unlocking bootloader form?
They say it could take like 2 weeks before it arrives, so be patient Sir.

ok, b'cos i have a TA-Backup on my phone from firmware .67. Would be nice to lock the bootloader and still keep the root, but maybe this will mess up the recovery, I have no idea :S

Yes, but make sure you flash back the stock kernel, as you will relock the bootloader when you restore your TA and soft brick your phone if it's still on the advanced stock kernel.

ahh, so i should make a only kernel ftf of my own 569 firmware and flash only kernel before i restore my TA-backup. But, do i loose root if i flash my own kernel only of 569?
Ok i unlocked my bootloader and rooted my device this way written by OP. No problem, i got root
Then i made my own Only kernel from my orginal ftf and flash it to remove DooMLoaRD's kernel we used here and it worked i still have root.
Proof:
And now i'm gonna relock my bootloader using my TA-Backup, crossing fingers and everything else.
EDIT:
YES YES Got ROOT and with "Locked Bootloader"
Thank you very much MMX35, DooMLoaRD, kingvortex and DevShaft
PROOF:
Thanks
So after I officially unlock bootloader via flashtool, I followed this rooting procedure (Thanks btw), can I just relock bootloader using flashtool again without losing root? Thanks!

Easy root Xperia Z2 5.1.1 Stock 23.4.A.0.546

Hi guys I have found an easier method to root 5.1.1 (By accident )
steps
1)flash the ftf 23.4.A.0.546 based upon you device version(d6503 or d6502)
2)Download the latest custom kernel of Androplus(v62 recommended)
3)copy the same into your phone (.zip)
4)flash the boot image from the zip in fastboot to get recovery then install the zip copied earlier
5)download suView attachment UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
6)install the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46 in recovery and congrats you just got your phone rooted
I did test the same,got my D6502 version rooted:angel:
Credits
Androplus for his awesome kernel
give a thumps u if your problem is solved
This is useful only to those who have their bootloader unlocked...
Plus this method is not new... It has been around for quite some time
If you're rooted on previous version, you can make a backup of your TA partition, then do OP steps, then flash stock kernel, and restore TA... Easy

I just wanted to know how can I flash the kernal? If you could explain the procedure
Secondly, in serviceinfo>configuration - it says 'Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes'
That means my Bootloader is unlocked, right?

I am rooted right now.
I just downgraded, unchecked the data, appdata and cache and flashed the kitkat rom but it caused bootloop, I flashed again and wiped all the data and cache in the flashtool and it worked.
Rooted, installed recovery and flashed the pre-rooted file from recovery.

Follow the above links I've provided. First you need root then unlock bootloader then TWRP recovery. After that you can install any ROM/kernel for Z00L devices. I've flashed every available ROM for our device and can help anyway I can.

That is not correct.
'Official' status will be shown as long as you don't modify the system or boot partitions.
Unlocking bootloader is an official feature offered by Motorola (though it voids warranty) so that does not do anything to the status.

2nd post told how to solve the problem. Flash the factory firmware...then take an OTA. You can have system less root and it still say official. Once you change something on the system partition or flash TWRP it will say modified.

The point is definitely to solve the problem, which is why we are helping each other here right?
But giving unnecessary instructions will not solve it either. If you don't have a solution, it's best to educate someone on what the implications of the situation is
Unlocking, Custom Recovery, Systemless Rooting.. These do not change it to modified, but changing in system, oem or other partitions do (debloating, xposed or i dont remember all)
According to me, that status doesn't matter, nowhere in daily use...
Best & only way to make it official is to Downgrade to lower version of official ROM than available by OTA (as now available ROM is NPJ25.93-14 install NPJ25.93-11 or lower, not '25.93-14' )
Than you will receive OTA update to latest one '25.93-14' and completing that will result in official status...
NOTE: Installing update by zip, (available here) will not do anything.. And versions that i mentioned are of INDIAN variant, so check & take care of outside variants...
