Samsung Pay and Package Disabler Issue! - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

Something extremely weird happened to me today. I opened the Samsung's pay app and it notified me all my cards had been removed including my gift card that I received for $30. I tried signing back into Samsung pay but it was in a loop. Proceeded to re enable everything in package Disabler and I was able to sign back into Samsung pay. Unfortunately the $30 gift card is still gone. Any advice? Has anybody else experienced this?

Just go to the settings and uninstall any updates to Samsung Pay, clear data/cahces, and do the same for the Samsung Pay framework. Reboot device, open Samsung Pay stub (the preinstalled app that asks you if you want to install the real Samsung Pay), and re setup. Your cards are deleted if any tampering occurs with the app (safety/security reasons). You should still have the gift card as it's not actually tied to Samsung Pay. Check the email they gave you that links to wherever the gift card is for. I deleted Samsung Pay after I got my BestBuy gift card and just used it on their website by putting in the gift card # and pin #. If you can't find the gift card # or pin #, you can always contact Samsung and just BS and say that your app was acting up so you cleared cache or something and now your gift card is gone.

They should have sent you an e-mail with all the details for the gift card

Thank you I completely forgot I had received that email with the gift card info.

it happened to me on that bootloop. all you have to do is go back to your package disabler and look for "samsung account" uncheck it and you should all set for setup.

i made a review on playstore and instantly got a response from the developer. we are doing it wrong. we need to enable "com.osp.app.signin"

Factory Restore to get free credit twice?

Remember reading if you do a factory reset or something you can get the free credit twice on two different accounts. True? If so how?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I highly doubt it, and activating a second nexus on an account does not get you the credit a second time either.
Loop hole was fixed.
It's been fixed to limit to one $25 credit per CSSN in addition to one Google account if you own multiple units.

I bought an open box from Staples today. Was happy they had in stock and didn't know how to check if the credit had been used or not. I've tried a factory reset and I'm using my Gplay account that is linked to my phone so I know my account is active. I completed the CC form and have not received an email and when I try to buy an apps I continue to get the "add a card to get $25 credit" message even if I have the same card now listed 2x. Any idea how I can still avail of the credit? Is there a way to reach Google?
when i got my first unit, we used it to activate a bunch of accounts and we all got the 25 credit (reset, rinse, repeat)
only that they was limited to 1 was the 10 dollar from google wallet
they fixed the glitch now

There was a thread on this. The suggestion was to remove all credit cards from your Google Play account then perform a factory reset. You should see the offer when you sign in then should immediately get an Gmail notification regarding the credit. If you don't then the credit has already been claimed by that CSSN in Google's database. Try contacting Google to reset it on their end or take it back for a new sealed unit.

[Q] wallet issue - not authorizing card at POS

alright guys. Quick question. Has anyone had any of the "secure element" issues on the Nexus 4? I have been looking around and not found anything related to the N4 talking about the secure element. Lots of stuff on the old G-Nex and Nexus S forums though.
To be clear, I am NOT having the error message about secure element come up on the screen. However, after my most recent flash every time I try to use wallet, the paypass terminal says "unable to authorize payment, try another card". Again, there is no "secure element" message, just an error on the paypass terminal.
I tried it on the vending machines at my work and it erred. I then went to CVS just to try it there and it also said the card couldn't be authorized.
I called Google and they said that they see the transactions attempt to go through but show that the card is being declined at point of sale. So, it makes me think that it is not an outage on Google or even a secure element issue. After all, no secure element error code and if it at least attempts to go through, seems to not be secure element.
So, I figured it may be a google wallet outage. Nope. I then figured maybe paypass was down. Nope, it worked with other cards. But every time I try to use the phone it simply rejects the payment. And yes, I know the card my wallet account is linked to is still good...
I flashed a complete factory image back to stock unrooted and it still wont go through.
And I was also sure to always wipe the app before I flashed anything, so I don't think the secure element would have been damaged anyhow, but just seeing if perhaps anyone knows of a secure element issue or some other issue.
Thanks for your time and assistance.

On your phone, go to Wallet > Settings > Reset Google Wallet app, then clear the app data in settings.
Next, on a PC, go to https://wallet.google.com/manage/ and remove all payment cards.
Back on your phone, setup wallet and add the credit cards there.
I had the issue once on my Nexus S and this fixed it for me.

thanks. I'll give it a shot. Hopefully this fixes it. Seemed strange since I wasn't getting an error message but the point of sale is rejecting it. Google said it is showing up on their end as declining for expired card, but I know the cards aren't expired.
We will see. My main concern was simply that this is a Secure Element issue and perhaps the newest version of wallet just doesn't indicate it.
Ill report back soon.

I think the main issue with the secure element was related to the Google prepaid card. It stored the money in the SE, so the idea that you could put $20 on it, back it up, spend the money, restore, and spend it again would have become a cat and mouse security nightmare for Google.

Unfortunately no dice.
I wiped the app. Diabled it. uninstalled all updates. I went all out just to make sure to clear everything. And of course wiped all data from within the app itself prior to clearing data and cache, etc.
Deleted all payment info off of the google account using the link you provided.
Then I enabled the app, reinstalled updates and entered all new payment information. No dice.
So then I added in a card which I have never even had linked to the google wallet account. I figured perhaps just the card itself is somehow jacked up within Google network (expiration date or something). I tried the brand new card which has never been used before and it failed to authorize as well.
Im a bit lost at this point with other things to try. I do have a couple of old nandroids which I can try, but I am not sure if it will resolve the issue as I had already tried another one without success.
Any other ideas guys?

Only flash back to stock 4.2.2 ROM and re-lock the bootloader. Also try skipping the update to Wallet.
I'm actually on stock 4.2.2 now. I tried to flash factory image after it wasn't working on a custom ROM.
Boot loader didn't get locked though. I won't be able to try anything else until Monday though since the only readily available pay pass is on the vending machines at work.

Something like this did occur back when Google was providing Nexus 7 users with I think $10 wallet credit. People would restore their accounts (or maybe just sync a new account, not too sure), and get their credit again, essentially, infinite spending (within that limit)
Okay. So I am back at work with access to a vending machine with an NFC reader…
I have tried several things with no luck. First, I noticed there was a “verify your identity” section under wallet settings.
1) I verified my identity figuring perhaps it needed verification before it would allow any transactions. That didn’t work.
2) I have an NFC payment on 5/24 so I restored my 5/24 nand to try to see if that would restore functionality. It didn’t.
3) I then flashed the 5/25 update to the CM Nightly ROM I used on 5/24. I know I had done this so I figured I would try that. Plus, I have an NFC payment on 5/25 (last time NFC was used) so I figured I would try that. No luck.
I am really confused. I am not getting a secure element error, so I don’t think the chip is locked out. I called my CC company and they see the transaction come through and approve it, but never get a charge on it. Google also says they see the transaction request. This means the phone is sending the information as it should, which also makes me think the chip is NOT locked out. If flashing prior ROMS didn’t work, and flashing a complete factory image doesn’t work, it makes me think it has to be on Googles end somewhere.
I wonder if perhaps the virtual card I was assigned from Bancorp is somehow messed up.
another update. I added a new gmail account to the phone. Basically I created a new gmail just to try something.
I then reset the app, added the new gmail account info to the phone. I then set it up using all of my same payment information. Once the app was set up I tried it out at the vending machine and it worked.
So, since using an entirely new account works. This pretty much confirms that the app itself is not messed up and that there is no issue with the secure element either.
After I confirmed that the app works using a new account, I then reset the app, put in my actual gmail account again, and set up wallet again. This time it didn’t work. At this point I would say it is pretty safe to assume that it is definitely an issue with google wallet on googles end or perhaps on Bancorp Money Networks end.
I've been having this exact same issue with my Nexus 4. Still have not been able to fix it. I just tried setting it up with another account that I don't recall ever really having had Wallet with and that still didn't work. I have not tried to make a completely new gmail account yet. It's very weird, you'd think Google Wallet would just send the same info as my actual credit card does, the blink function in that one works fine.
I am having the same problem on my Gen Nex as well. Very annoying!
I've been able to use it in a few different places without problems now. I haven't gone back to these vending machines at work though so I don't know if Google ever did something after I contacted them. I was so upset when I contacted them because I explain my problem with as many details as possible, I am very clear about how I have a Nexus 4 and how this used to work fine. They reply back to me with some dumb generic message about how in order to use the NFC function in Wallet I have to have a NFC enabled device, which isn't even true because you can't use Google wallet on most phones NFC or not. Honestly it's like they just didn't read my email at all. I emailed them back asking if they even read the email but they never got back to me.

Has anyone received their $25 Google play credit yet?

I performed all of the steps to register my us wifi 12.2, and went to the website listed on the little slip of paper included with the instruction manual, but I haven't recieved any of my promotional offers yet. Additionally, I sent an email through the samsung site asking for support and haven't heard anything yet. Yes, I did check my spam folder
Has anyone here been able to redeem their $25 google play credit yet? Any of the other freebies?

I got the email. I signed up by going to the preloaded Internet browser the homepage is the perks page. Through that page they send you to the samsung app store I don't remember anything after that.

Got my $25 credit instantly. BTW, thanks to the OP- you just saved me $25! I didn't even know about this, I was all set to just ignore most of the Samsung Apps on the tablet until I read this thread.
All I did was sign in to Samsung Apps, clicked the link to promotions- that sent the email with the $25 Play Store redemption code.
Pasted code in "redeem" in PlayStore and *poof* instant $25 credit.
Got mine as well, just not my Evernote Premium. Seems to have conflicting information about the free year but I suspect that as an existing free user I'm SOL.
Got mines instantly by email.
Yeah after further investigation, it appears that regardless of what you do on the website with regards to registering the device, you need to open and log into the Samsung apps application on the device to trigger the perks email.
Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
I received mine before I finished setting up my device....almost instantly.
Registering ad receiving the Perks for my 2014 Note 10.1 was more of a process than my Note Pro 12. Once I opened Samsung Hub n the Pro 12, Instantly got an email with all the perks, which included a redemption code for $25 Play. The Note 10 gave me an extra $50 credit at Samsung Hub and Samsung Apps, which I think spending an additional $250 for the Pro 12 should have entitled me to the same. The key to perks is to make SUREto register for "Samsung Account", and check the email with such account. If you don't create the Samsung Account and login from Pro 12 you WILL NOT get the perks NOR the free premium Wacom Office Suite that automatically downloads as an update once registered. Hope this helps!
Can you explain? Which ap do you run to trigger the perks email ? If a browser which browser (I hope not chrome because I already reset chrome's bookmarks) ?

My theory would be for those who already owned a Samsung device and had a Samsung account, during setup you are prompted to create or sign in to your existing Samsung account. When I signed into my existing samsung account and Google account and when everything began syncing during first time setup I had a email in my email account associated with Samsung. As a matter of fact I do recall surfing the net while updates were being applied to pre installed apps via the built in samsung browser and it took me to Samsung's website as though it was already bookmarked in the app. I can't quote the actual verbiage on the page, but it eluded to a "thank you for registering your device". I really didn't pay attention to it, although I did receive my perks email shortly thereafter.
I believe this is where it auto registers your device with no effort on your part. Being that the browser is connected to your Samsung account.
Never the less, I know for a fact I didn't purposely register my device like the standard way of inputting serial numbers etc., thus adding a device to your Samsung account.
On a side note....is it normal that you can't stack the dropbox 50gb promo on top of an already existing 50gb promo? I had purchased a Samsung device last year, can't recall if it was the note 3 or 10.1-2014, and I received 50gb. However it didn't add the note pro 50gb promo when I setup my dropbox account on the note pro. Now when I created a new dropbox account and linked it to the note pro I received the 50gb. Now I have 2 separate dropbox accounts with 50gb.

Just open-up "Samsung Apps" from new device then Menu/Settings/Account and make sure it shows your email. Then you should be able to open your Gmail with the Gmail app and look in "Promotions" folder and there should be a "Thanks For Registering" from Samsung. They only register and send perks to Google Mail addresses (@Gmail).

Android Pay Persistent Card

Hello - I'm working with google on this but they haven't been able to figure it out. Maybe someone here can. Unrooted 6P, but I don't think the phone is the issue.
I tried adding a card (MasterCard)to android pay, but my bank wouldn't allow it because of a security hold. Now, when I try to add a new credit or debit card, the MasterCard shows in the add card menu under the heading "You added this one to your Google Account already, so you'll just need to confirm some details." This card does NOT show on the google payments page. The google tech doesn't see it on his end. He does see pre-auths from me trying to add it. He wants me to master reset the phone, but when I load AndroidPay on another device - it shows the same thing for the MasterCard. I've cleared all data for the app on the 6P, but since it's showing in AndroidPay on my other device, I'm thinking it must be floating in google's servers.

Access Paypal with fingerprint

Hi, anyone managed to get this working on there S7 edge ?
Paypal say this Here’s how to add your PayPal account to your Samsung Account Manager and connect your fingerprint to your PayPal app:
1.Tap the Menu button on your phone.
2.Tap Settings and then tap Accounts.
3.Tap Add account (you may have to scroll down to see this option).
4.Tap Add your PayPal account.
5.Enter the email address and password associated with your PayPal account, and then tap Link My PayPal Account.
Next, you’ll install the FIDO protocol, which enables you to use the fingerprint feature:
1.Tap Install.
2.Tap OK.
3.Tap Install.
4.Tap Link.
5.Link your fingerprint to PayPal by swiping your finger.
6.Tap Ok and PayPal will now appear under “My accounts.”
However I can't add paypal to my Samsung Account Manager as it does not appear in the list to select!
I have a "link your fingerprint" within the app itself but it doesn't want to work that way either! I keep getting "we can't confirm your fingerprint"
I don't know anything about the "fido" protocol but that appears to be already running on the phone in general.
I've told paypal all of this and there unhelpful response was :-When I have looked into this for you it is a common fault with certain Samsung models and not an app fault.
I would contact your phones technical help and seek advice as I have checked your PayPal account and all is well.
I am glad to resolve your query.
That last line creased me up!
PayPal needs to fix it. It's their issue.
Paypal have to update the app so it works with fingerprints on S7 & S7 Edge. If you install latest version of paypal & try to use fingerprint authentication it just errors out.
Yea was the same on my s5 worked at first then next time I used it it couldn't do it at this time lol

I'm also to unable the fingerprint in Paypal.
I think I can live without it for now, I'm just gonna wait until Paypal's next update
Glad it isn't just me. Lol worked on my LG V10 but not my S7E

If you read the comments in the Play Store, you'll see that everyone with a Galaxy S7 Edge (including myself) has the same problem. Hopefully they'll fix it in the next update.
Latest update to the app removes the fingerprint option altogether now

I am having this exact same problem on my Note 7 with Android 6.0.1. Obviously it is a PayPal fault in their app, but the ... at support tell me to talk to my phone maker! What a lame answer!? What an insult it is to get such a stupid answer from ill-mannered and non-professional "support" people!
They might feel bad about these comments, SO BE IT, they deserve nothing less.
It has been 4 days now and I get the run-around by 4 different support non-professionals "who are happy to help me" but obviously know about the app as much as I know Chinese, well not even so since I can at least say Nihau (Hi).
Believe me, as soon as I find a service that offers what PayPal offers, I will be on my way. Yes they will lose a customer with orders in excess of $15k per year!
Hold on to your mobiles, change PayPal.
OH, and it has been over 7 months now since people reported this issue with no apparent care by PayPal! No updates or anything to solve this shortfall of theirs. This is the kind of service PayPal has grown into, another big s&*%$y conglomerate!
Don't know what you all talking about, but I've fingerprint-support on my S7Edge!
Fingerprint working on PayPal here latest version. Try wiping data and re install
