[trick] Adopted SD fix [100%working] [different than other one] - Moto E General

For this fix to work you need zip of two different ROMs one with working adopted sd and other is the rom you want to flash ( the one showing corrupted sd card when you try to format it as internal eg- cm).
I recommend you to use orion as the first zip (the one with working adopted sd).
Now follow these steps:-
1- Flash the first zip in which adopted is working fine.
2-format your sd card as internal
3- using any root explorer copy misc folder from data and paste it in your sd card
4-now perform a clean flash of your desired ROM (dont wipe sd card)
5- before rebooting go to file manager of twrp copy misc folder that you copied in step 3 to the data folder.
6- reboot , you will notice you have a working adopted sd (no need to format it again).
Well its long method but it would surely work and you can switch roms without loosing adopted sd data with the same method.
Feel free to ask if you didn't get something.

Hey! bro nevermind This Was very big missunderstanding.......sorry for that...keep going

this method is different....and the one mentioned in link may give bootloop and is specially for cm

It's the same thing mentioned in here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e/general/enable-adopted-sdcard-cm-based-roms-t3322415
Either you dirty flash the 2nd rom or copy the misc folder. It's the same thing.
Isn't it's easier to dirty flash rather copying and pasting things?

And success rate with this method is 100 % for every rom

Maybe.
Since after flashing the first rom, the only thing we're supposed to setup is the google account and no other user apps. Since we are dirty flashing the second rom, there's no messing with data partition. So chances of having bootloop is very low.

Guide - How to get out of "stuck at boot animation"

Its now all over the development section where people are trying custom ROM and getting stuck at infinite bootanimation loop.
This, as explained by famous developer dhacker29, the f2fs file system is very sensitive and gets easily corrupted. This results in stuck at bootanimation.
Presenting the solution – One time, shut it all and noob friendly
Common steps
1) From your working ROM, copy all your sd card data somewhere safe (PC, pendrive etc)
2) Backup all your apps (you can use titanium back up or this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1581653)
3) Download stock firmware for all those “what if it goes wrong” issues.
4) Install drivers for Motorola devices
5) Download your favourite ROM
6) Install minimum adb and fastboot
7) Install TWRP (official support is now available)
The geek method
8) Format /system, /data and /data/media (I strictly mean format as simple wipes won’t do)
9) Now sideload your rom file
a. Advance in TWRP
b. ADB sideload and swipe to start
c. Connect to computer where you have installed drivers and adb
d. Start cmd and type adb devices – it should show your device
e. Now side load by typing adb sideload drive letter:\where\your\rom\rom.zip
10) Reboot to recovery
11) Now install ROM as normal
12) Wipe cache and dalvik and reboot
Non Geek method
8) Install stock firmware for your respective device using fastboot (there are tutorials that have the batch file which installs the firmware automatically by simply clicking the batch file)
9) Install TWRP recovery
10 ) copy ROM zip file and flash
Everyone is now requested to use the guide, help me improve it ans stop flooding dev section with same question over and over again.
Alternate Method : Noob Friendly.
First of all backup your sd card (i.e data/media)
Flash Philz Touch 6.26.6 Recovery
Hope you have OTG cable and a pendrive.
Copy the rom which you want to install on pendrive. Attach pendrive through OTG.
(backup your current rom on usbdisk. For this goto Backup and Storage. Find option backup on storage/usbdisk :good: )
Now, select Wipe Data/Factory Reset. It will ask Wipe to install new rom,tap on it. Say Yes.
After that goto Mounts and Storage and format /data and /data/media (/sdcard). Say Yes.
Done.
Now flash your favorite custom rom.
Select the option install from sdcard. Then select usbdisk. Select your custom rom and install it

Quickest way I think is to take a USB Drive and attach it through an OTG-Cable, then use ES File Explorer to copy all things to it..
Connecting to a PC through USB takes more time due to some limitations there...
UST OTG works good.. :good:
You can use WiFi Direct maybe..

When I searched for the issue, I found nothing on it...And I had no idea how to fix it..
I thought to make a thread about the problem but didn't had enough time in those days..
I thought someone will eventually report the problem..
I think flashing the RetailGB firmware helped because it formatted the internal memory...

[GUIDE][MULTIBOOT] Multiboot ROMs on Lenovo K3 Note

I'm NOT the developer/creator of this app/method. Chenxiaolong is. Here's the link to the official thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2447534
Credits: @chenxiaolong - This guy is just great. Our device required many additional hacks and changes to work because of its crappy closed-source update-binary and closed-source Mediatek sources. This awesome dev had to work a lot to get this work fully on our device. Yes, he did. Debug builds, logs, debugging, reworking and all, and he never stopped. That's just amazing. So, I want to thank him wherever you see his post and if you can PLEASE donate as your token of appreciation. :good::fingers-crossed:
@911-Future_Maker Some help and tips in the initial stages.
@FeyoMx Initial helps since my phone wasn't rooted then.
Me. No I'm not exaggerating. I did my fair share of work in testing debug builds and providing logs and testing again. So, press thanks if this worked for you :victory:
Disclaimer:
Neither I nor the dev is responsible for any damage this app does to your device.
You MUST have a nandroid backup in case something bad happens.
Only do something after the whole thread a few times.
Yes, this is true multibooting. Install as many ROMs as our internal storage allows. I can't install more than 3 ROMs (on extsd-slot) as I have a lot of apps.
Here's the procedure:
1- Download the latest version of the app from https://snapshots.noobdev.io and the DualBootUtilities.zip (https://snapshots.noobdev.io/DualBootUtilities-8.0.0.r2162.gc717564.zip)
Note: Only version 8.0.0.r2157.g7d47ab8 and newer completely supports our device.
2- Select ROMs from the navigation drawer of the app on the left
3- Grant supersuser/root rights when it asks
4- Click "Set kernel" if it is asked.
5- Click the three-dot menu on the first ROM, which will be your current ROM.
6- Scroll down and click update ramdisk
7- Reboot
8- Select "Patch Zip file" from the navigation drawer
9- Press the + button and select the zip of the ROM you want to install.
10- Select the slot to which you want to install the ROM.
Take either a data-slot or an extsd-slot.
I recommend using an extsd-slot because the internal memory gets full very fast. Even if you install to extsd-slot, only /system/ is stored on the SD card because having data and cache as image files on the SD card shortens its lifespan by almost a week.
11- Patch the GApps, Xposed or any other zip you want to install to this ROM the same way giving the extsd-slot number you gave for the ROM.
12- Install the patched zip. There are two ways:
I) in recovery (highly recommended)
II) through the built-in zip flasher. Click on the circle in the ROMs page. Add the zips with the plus button. Click the tick.
13- Reboot. It'll automatically reboot the new ROM if it was installed successfully.
14- Voila!! You are now multibooting!
To switch between ROMs, you need the Dual Boot Patcher app on that ROM. Navigate to ROMs, and click you ROM you want to switch. A tick will appear.
Reboot.
EDIT: Forgot about app sharing. Here it is
App Sharing:
Yes, this feature allows you to share the data of your apps across the ROMs. That means you'll have your Chrome tabs open as you left it in the other ROM. Cool !
Instructions:
1- Navigate to App Sharing settings in the navigation drawer.
2- Select "Share individual apps" and reboot.
3- Select the apps you want to share in "Manage shared apps" and select "Use shared data".
4- Reboot to the same ROM. This is very important. If you switch ROMs, you'll lose your data and you will have uncheck "Use shared data" to get it back.
5- Reboot to the ROM with which you want to share data.
6- Install the app if it isn't installed.
7- Do the same as steps 2, 3 and 4 in that ROM. Yes, rebooting to another ROM there can also result in data loss.
8- You will now have the same data across all those ROMs :victory:
I've tried sharing WhatsApp, Google Chrome, a game and Tapatalk and all these work perfectly fine.
Bugs:
I haven't seen any (of the app, do NOT report ROM bugs here)
If you find any, provide logs. If it was while installing provide the recovery.log from TWRP>Settings>Copy logs to SD
If ROM not booting, flash GetLogs.zip from the website (link: https://snapshots.noobdev.io/misc/getlogs/GetLogs-20160120.zip)
If a ROM is not booting, don't worry, reboot to recovery, and flash the DualBootUtilities.zip and switch to primary ROM.
N.B.: The touch screen doesn't work in AROMA on our device. So, navigate using volume buttons. It's a bit weird, but you'll get you used to it.
Yes, it's risky. That's why you should have a nandroid backup.
I'll try to help you as much as I can, but I'm not a dev. So, if you provide logs, I'll see and if it is something new, I'll tell the dev. He is usually busy.
N.B.: This whole post was written on my phone, so it's bad, I know. I'll edit it when I get time.
Please press thanks if I have helped you.

Why? You can dualboot no matter what's your default write disk. You must just have enough free space. Using 4 roms currently, my default disk is internal storage and my primary rom has a tons of apps installed. Btw @sandeep.sethi I'm having problems trying to dualboot your latest AICP rom. 5 fast vibrations and back to recovery.

This is easy. I'll guess you're installing MIUI or CM right? Because these roms usually contains this limitation about "hermes" only devices. Just open the updater-script which can be found in META-INF/com/google/android path, open it as text via some root file manager and edit it removing the following lines:
Code:
getprop("ro.product.device") == "hermes" || abort("This package is for \"hermes\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "\".");
Success.
Hey @Salman A. bro I have a little update on your question about that can we install a VibeUI on extsd-slot or in any other slot different than primary. Good news - it works like a charm, screen attached from last night when I was again playing with flashing roms on my phone lol.
Installed VibeUI_1604_ST on extsd-slot all working, I just edited the updater-script to prevent boring errors like that one above removing these line:
Code:
getprop("ro.product.model") == "Lenovo K50-t5" || abort("This package is for \"Lenovo K50-t5\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.product.model") + "\".");
So now running VibeUI from my extsd card lol, I flashed it just to confirm it's possible, but I think I'll wipe it and flash it again as primary because I mostly play games on VibeUI and I don't want to run a heavy game from my extsd while the entire phone system is also running from the card. It will slow down the things.
Meanwhile I still can't make the AICP rom by sandeep a multiboot ready. Sometimes it hangs at the logo, sometimes vibrates 5 times and reboots back to recovery. I posted at the dualboot thread and really hope that Chen will help me.

Wait! I forgot to mention that I also tried VibeUI_1606 from needrom and it while it had instaled fine it doesn't boot! Got stucked at the logo... I don't know for the other MM roms, you may want to try 1605 as I already tried 1606 and as you can see without success. So may be no multiboot for MM for now...if you have enouh space on internal you may try and report. So the bottom line:
VIBEUI_1604_ST Android 5.1 is working
VIBEUI_1606_DEV Android 6.0 won't boot.
Phone: Lenovo K3 Note
ROM: 04_K3_NOTE_5.1_1604_STABLE_ROW_004_CUOCO92
Kenrnel fix successful but in primary ROM While updating ram disk it gave error
log file attached
Please help
Using the latest Dualboot 2162 build with the VibeUI_3.1_1606 - can't update the ramdisk and also not indicating that the primary rom is the currently running.
I still can switch to other rom via the utilities zip so for now it's a compromise that I chose to make.

And again same error I m having. But now it is saying this device is aio otfp m. Please help. Even I m not able to update ramdisk.

You have to change ro.build.product to aio_otfp without _m in your build.prop. If you are still trying that zip, you will still have to edit the updater-script. My advice, don't use it. That's very old. Try the new CM 12.1 Beta 3

AIROM cyanogen 12.1 on board. phone is slow. IS there any better OS than this?

Hello
I'm new to android, and basically new to this techie stuff. anyway, my cousin had installed cynogenmod 12.1 on my lenovo A6000, may be its for lenovo K-30T model. coz its showing model number "lenovo K-30T" in "about phone".
And despite the RAM being free for about 300MB, the phone lags.
I want a ROM which is faster. I have come across this OS http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-a6000/development/best-cm12-1-rom-lenovo-a6000-plus-withe-t3288805 . Please tell me if it's better and stable than the current one .
*screenshots
It's obviously cyanogen 12.1, so can I flash some files so that it may become the os I want on my phone? or I have to re do the flashing process? DO I have to roll back to kitkat in order to flash this OS?
If there is any other os, which has all in one good package, Pls suggest.
* fast OS
* I dont play games
* good battery backup
*good UI

Well if you want a good smooth UI with good battery backup. Try this MIUI ROM.
The UI with CM11 is not that great. But, in performance and battery, its definitely the best ROM for a6000. Here's the link for CM 11. You can surely try these customizations for CM11.
You can flash MIUI directly over your ROM after wiping system, data, dalvik, cache. But for CM11 you'll first have to flash stock KK, and then have to flash CM11, and ofcourse after a complete wipe.

Thanks a lot mate..
and in the CM11's link, in "AMPERE" screenshot, Its again showing "lenovo K30T" as model number. Now Im concerned about that here. I have same model number in my device information . For some reason, I think My cyanogen 12.1 is made for that particular reason and not for Lenovo A6000. Does it make any difference in terms of performance of the device?
PS. how do we post pictures in this forum? Im new to this whole thing Thanks in advance

Since Lenovo K-30 has same board as our a6000, so any rom working on K-30 would work on our devices too (yeah with a bit modifications). So, there's no problem in using ROMs showing device as K-30.
And, answer to the second question, you click on the 'paper clip' icon for attachments.
P.S. I too a hard time in the beginning to figure that out.:silly:

Bro, These are the screenshots of the memory status of my memory on board. Earlier before I had upgraded to lollipop update from lenovo, I had complete 8 GB as internal memory. but as soon as I had updated to that update, the size reduced, and then due to heavy lagging, I chose to root it and put 12.1 in it., then also after number of wipes and erases, still it's stuck at 4.69GB. I don't understand why complete 8GB is not being utilized.
Is there any way to unlock full potential? or did I do any wrong while flashing?
Thanks in advance

You did nothing wrong. What happened is that the data you had in your internal memory has been moved to some other folder and not actually wiped. This had happened to me a few times.
And, I actually has now forgotten what was its path. But, it was among these two for sure.
/mnt/shell/emulated/0/
OR
/data/media/0/
First copy contents of your internal memory on your sd card or pc. Then delete the contents of the above two directories, you'll get your internal memory freed. Then, you can copy back the contents.
And yeah, es file explorer is suggested for this job. Other root explorers will work too.

You have to make backup of files in "/0/" only and not of whole root directory

Okay, I have taken backup of /0/ .
and I tried going into the path you have said. But in my phone, the path only lasted like this.
"/mnt/shell"/(empty). no emulated folder
and same with the data folder in the root folder. there is no file or folder inside data folder.
Shall i delete these two folders? SHell and Data? just like that?

Use es file explorer for that. And first from its options, mount the partitions from Root explorer menu. Check all the partitions. Then you will be able to see the contents of /data/ and /shell/emulated/

Just format the data by going in additional format option and then type yes after that you would be able to transfer data from PC to phone .

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][PORT] Resurrection Remix Q for htc one m8

ive used Lineage OS' device tree for the htc one m8 to port Resurrection Remix Q to the HTC one m8.
thought i better post it here, seeing as there seems to be no other RR Q ports for this phone anywhere else.
just flash it via TWRP.
please let me know if you find anything thats broken. im rather new to ROM making.
note: this rom isn't pre-odexed so first-boot might take a bit.
this is the kernel source i used: https://github.com/LineageOS/android_kernel_htc_msm8974/tree/lineage-17.1
and this is the device tree: https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_htc_m8/tree/lineage-17.1
all i did was copy&paste the kernel and dev tree into RR's source directory, rewritethe references to lineage inside the device files to reference RR, fixed some SELinux compatibility issues, and then proceeded as normal to build RR.
UPDATE: 03-02-2021
fixed boot failure after restoring TWRP backup
i have been made aware that this does not boot upon restoring a TWRP backup.
i have updated the zip in the original post to fix this.
Any plans to get on official RR?

try formtatting data to f2fs and then clean-flashing the rom.

yes! it works rather well. most of the issues i run into are magisk bugs. other than that there's only the occasional systemui lag that lasts for maybe a second or two, and this only happens maybe once a day. i should be noted that i reboot my phone several times a day, and i dont use Gapps.

sounds like a storage operation issues. see if switching the system partition format to ext4, cache to ext4. userdata and internal storage to f2fs helps at all. clean-flash after you change formats. if that does nothing, please tell me if the presence (or lack of) an external SD card affects this in any way.

I tried to use this ROM in various ways, switching the system partition to ext4 and to f2fs, both with an sd card and without sd. Nothing helps - constant freezes of the smartphone, yesterday I installed Lineage 17.1-it works smoothly and without delays. And so I wanted Resurrection Remix Q, sorry...
I tried to do a clean install ,and then I tried to flash over RR-P-v7. 0. 2-20190507-m8-Release, nothing helps. It freezes so that you have to press the off button and the volume rocker with two fingers until a full reboot.
