What deals - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

As they appear what kind of deals are becoming available in the uk looking for a ee one

I went on Vodafone (already with them). Still had 6 months to go on contract, so they waived the upgrade fee, for unlimted text and minutes, 10Gb data, £29 up front for the phone .. and initially the tarriff was £50 a month ... however, due to the company I work for I get 20% discount, so comes in at £40 a month. Seeing as I was paying £30 already for unlimited texts, 600 mins and only 1gb, and extra £10 with spotify is not to bad. This is also with a free Gear VR and a Spotify Premium subscription ... so all in all .. not to bad a deal I reckon

I already created a thread for this yesterday.

Thanks didn't see it

Great deal on 12 month contract with T-Mobile and Touch HD

I've been looking for the cheapest way to get a Touch HD recently but I'm worried I'll want something better if it comes along in the near future so i didn't want to get tied into a massive contract. I found these great deals from MobilePhonesDirect
http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/Brands/HTC/b509/n447/p3185.aspx
They're offering:
150mins
150text
Unlimited web (1GB)
£29.36pm on a 12 month contract paying £156.99 for the phone.
I admit it's not great if you use it to talk a lot but if you're a minimal talker like me it's a pretty good way to get the phone and not get locked into an 18 or 24 month contract. That way you can be ready for this time next year when the HTC Leo has come down to an affordable price
or
500mins
375text
Unlimited web (1GB)
£39.15pm on a 12 month contract paying £79.99 for the phone.
Or of course you could just do what I'm thinking of doing and going Sim only.
http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/mobile-phones/sim-card/pay-monthly/pay-monthly-solo/solo-20/allowances/
T-Mobile Solo20
600mins
Unlimited text
Unlimited web (1GB)
£20pm on a 30 day rolling contract and just buy the phone for about £250 from Ebay. You can also get £20 cashback for signing up for the Solo20 with Quidco
That way you can upgrade whenever you like.
Decent plans except texts! So easy to go over.
375 not enough That's like 12 a day. How much do you text?
I actually rang up Orange my current provider and quoted this Solo20 deal to them saying I wanted to leave and they basically matched it.
Orange Dolphin15
400 mins
unlimited text
unlimited internet (500MB)
£15pm with rolling 30 day contract.
So I just stayed with them in the end.
It's always worth ringing up and seeing what your current company will give you if you can quote actual numbers to them from competitors
I have started on panther 45
1200 minutes
Unlimited text
Unlimited internet bundle
After six month Orange has reviewed my contract and offered
Dolphin 25
200 minutes
Unlimited text
Unlimited internet bundle ( which stayed on 400mb)
Nothing unusual to send onver 100 texts, but was very pleased with offer from Orange, esp. i wasn't asking for it. How cool is that?
Yeah I know, I average between 100-200 texts per month. But for the sake of paying an extra £10 per month on a contract just to get more texts I think I'd rather risk it and just pay the small amount that I went over every month.
Remember £10 = 83 texts

new 02 pay as you go plan

apparently 02 uk have a new pay as
you go price plan that offers unlimited internet an texts for topping up
15pounds a month went into my local branch an they confirmed yes the internet is unlimited so just wandering if you guys know of any better pay as you go deal cause I am not really worried about calls as texts and internet do me good .
The £15 is an introductory price.
It'll jump to £30 for unlimited after that.
You'd be better off with Virgin - they do unlimited texts and web for £20.
I'm on 02 Simplicy £19.58 a month for free internet, 600 calls, 600 texts, 12 month contract.
I signed up through QuidCo (after hearing about it on here), which then gave me £100 cashback = my phone bill is = £140 a year = £12 a month.
Given that I was on Orange £40 a month, and just three months into an 18-month contract (and then cancelled my contract due to T+C changes), I'm very pleased.
(Then karma came in the shape of someone spilling beer on my phone, meaning whatever battery I try lasts just six hours...)
I think the QuidCo deal has ended but there might be a new one again.
not really

yes thanks I know the price will jump up but if u sign on to the deal before 1 october or something then u will get the 15£ tariff but if u sign after then u start paying 30 so at the moment it does make sense cause I hardly call I just
text and use the internet on my phone

Hmm.
I read it as the first month is £15 but after that it's £30.
I could've mis-read it though.

I was in a very similar position ie Orange contract etc.
I got out of the contract and am now on O2 Simplicity approx £20/month 600 mins 600 txt choice of free bolt on. I chose unlimited internet.
My contract is only a 30 day rolling contract though. I seem to remember that signing up on the web gave 1200 txt though. I don't text too much so am not bothered about this.
I'm very pleased, great value and can cancel with only 30 days notice when a new phone comes out that catches my eye.
Comparing SIMplicity plans to PAYG is perhaps a bit of a waste of time.
The PAYG plans are aimed at people who, for whatever reason, are unsuitable for contracts - be it an inadequate credit score or just a complete lack of seld-control leading to ridiculously high bills.

If your thinking of getting the HD2 on contract in the UK

these deals may tempt you......(see attached)
I ended up getting it on Orange (thru mobiles.co.uk)
Handset £89 and £25x24months
I got mine through BuyMobilePhones.net. Free phone on £30x24. I also selected, for an extra fiver a month, unlimited data use. So for £35 pm I got free phone & unlimited data. Personally I don't think that's a bad deal.
Or Try Virgin mobile,
18 month Contract
Virgin £22 Month
mins 250
Text Unltd
Unltd mobile internet
Hand set £149.99
Or you get even better if you have a virgin media account
I got virgin media tv and broadband so I got the HD2 for £99 and £25 p/m 500 min, unlimited internet (1gb fair use policy blah blah) and 3000 min virgin to virgin calls, not bad on a 18 month contract oh and 2 months free
I got my from Carphonewarehouse for free on
£30x24 (after 9 months less - about £25)
600 mins any time any network
500 SMS
Unlimited internet (fair use 500 MB or more like this month I got almost 1GB)
T-mobile UK
1200minutes
unlimited texts (was a free addon pack)
unlimited internet
free phone
£35pcm over 24 months
asides from sending my their bloomin questionnaire 6 times in one day, im happy
Im with Tmob too
£35 a month, with unlimited everything
(had problems with tmob so I pretty much forced them to give me unlimited mins..)
I just wish i went for a 1 year contract now
Firstly avoid Mobiles.co.uk they are a terrible company to deal with for any issues, they don`t abide to UK DSR's either.
I got mine from them £49 for phone & £25 (600 mins, unlimited txt's) a month back in December, I tried to cancel after realising how much the phone relies on Data connection and although I had not gone out of my wireless range with the phone it had connected to the net several time incurring a charge, I decided to cancel the contract (within 7 days) but they would not issue a return number blaming Vodafone stating that because i have inserted the sim into the phone it is non returnable after telling them this was against the law they would not budge so I contacted consumer direct who confirm it was illegal to refuse the return.
Later I contacted Vodafone to explain what Mobile.co.uk had said about blaming them for breaking UK DSR's and they said that is wrong and Vodafone would be happy to accept a cancellation on any new contract and that she was reporting this to their contract department who deal with third party resellers (when the name mobiles.co.uk was mention by the vodaphone agent a co worker overheard it and said 'their ars**s )
She then said as I was being treated badly by them and they were trying to pass the blame on to Vodafone that Vodafone would try and help, she then said what she will do is add Unlimited data to my contract at no extra cost so that way I would not end up being charged if the phone connected to the net by itself
so in the end I have
600 Mins
unlimited Txt's
Unlimited Data
for £25 a month
Or buy the phone on ebay for £300 (equivelent to £12.50/month on 2 year) and get a sim only...
I'm on O2 sim only for about £20/month with mobile web included and tonnes of messages and minutes too
What I did:
Phone 'as new' on ebay: £350
o2 simplicity - 800minutes, 1600texts, unlimited data - £20/month. £110 Quidco cashback = £11/month for 12 months.
I take from dialaphone.co.uk
£40 x 12 and hd2 cost £38= £518
vodafone but hd2 unlocked and not branded- clean factory
300min x 12
3000texts x 12
internet 500mb x12
This is only 12 month contract now is offer £25 cost hd2
orange
I got mine from dialaphone £35 per month 18 month contract 1200 mins unlimited texts and unlimited internet on orange and found them very helpful as well
got my HD2 as a free upgrade from my i900 from vodaphone. only managed it as i am a business user with them. they had already withdrawn the phones for domestic users.
what a great phone!

One possible caution, if you buy an "as new unwanted upgrade" and the seller decides, sometime along the line, to stop paying the contract the phone will get blocked on all networks.
£240 for handset @ £10pm 24 months. 100 mins per month, unlimited texts and unlimited data via T-Mobile direct. That's what I went for.
I went with Vodafone - just before they went to Business only. Free phone, £35 a month for 2 yrs, 900 anytime network minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited (fair use) data, unlimited calls to landlines. Didn't think it was too bad - I haggled a bit and they increased my 1 month free phone insurance to 6 months.
There are some great offers here. I'm tempted by Virgin, already being a customer. I do worry about what I'll actually get though. Are these phones hobbled like the T-Mobile version? Are the latest official ROMs available? Are they network locked? Reading other threads suggests there might be compromises to be made. I've used an unlocked HD2 with no customizations and was impressed.

I can only find the panther 45 on 18/12 with 1200 mins and that is £45 per month at dialaphone. £50 auto cashback.
I have my PAC code from o2 now and was going to go through topcashback £50 with mobiles.co.uk on £45 per month and get the 8/12 half price.
I got mine from Virgin. £80 for the handset and £25x18 with 500 mins and unlimited data and texts. Unlocked and unbranded handset.
Think the handset price may have increased slightly now.

I just ordered from phones4u:
Orange £35/pmth 18/mth
500 mins
ultd texts
500mb internet
FREE phone
Its the best 18 month contract I could find!
As an ex-Vodafone customer returning because of the DHD, I managed to negotiate this amazing deal: 300 minutes, unlimited texts, 'unlimited' Internet, 18 months, free phone, £26 a month. The phone arrives next week....
Voda is looking to stem a fall in market share right now so it's a good place to push for a good deal.
Thats funny because when I tried to negotiate a deal with them to renew my contract with them (bearing in mind it was not as good as a deal you got) they really could not be interested.
So cutting a long story short I have said good bye to voda and hello again t-mobile.

Post your up front and tariff costs

Vodafone UK for me.
£29.99 up front for the phone.
And a 24 month contract at £40 a month for unlimited minutes and texts with 10gb of data.
I've checked out some of the American/Canadian costs and it seems you get a real s**t deal over there when it comes to mobile phone contracts.
Preordered unbranded S7 Edge Black on Orange Romania's online shop. With Gear VR and an external battery of 2000mAh. All price: 790€ (about 870$) free of new contract.
Think O2 UK have robbed me £49.99 upfront and £49 a month for 5gb of data and unlimited minutes and texts
I'm with AT&T and was forced over to their Next program. Had to pay tax upfront ($77) with $15 upgrade fee added to my next bill. Then the cost of the phone is spread out over 30 monthly payments of $26.50 added to my monthly bill which is 5GB shared data with unlimited calling and text for a base price of $50 and a $25 access fee along with my wife's $40 access fee for her iPhone 6+. So my monthly bill is $50+$26.50+$25+$40 = $141.50.
Compared to what you guys are paying, we are definitely getting screwed in the US.

My tariff would be £50 a month but I get 20% off through work. Still, only 5gb for £50 a month isn't great. You could get twice that at Vodafone and pay £20 less up front.
T-Mobile USA $817 outright. I only buy outright so my bill is 190 unlimited everything for 5 lines(it's discounted) after taxes.

Be careful. Hawaii is one of the lower tax states. We only pay 4.157%.

They didn't mention the headphones, I got the Gear VR for free. Have a chat with them, as it is part of the Red 4G package. They did not say anything to me about it, until I was looking online. I had a chat to them via the webchat, and they sent through the links to activate once the phone gets delivered
800€ for phone (3*266€ on samsung site).
25€ for 5go(then reducted speed) / unlimited calling and text. (no engagment)
Will sell my old phone for 350€
So arround 1050€ (1150$/830£) for 2 years (44€(48$/35£) / month)
I bought the phone outright direct through the Samsung website. I use the £15 4GB Giffgaff tarriff. Cost over 24 months is £1000, which is cheaper than any other deal I could find from any other provider. There's a deal through carphone warehouse and o2 which works out as £1016 and you get 5GB data. I kinda thought about going for that one, but I'd also have to go through the hassle of moving my number over as well. I like a simple life.
44:99 per month and 0 upfront for 10GB data with EE. Bought from Mobile Phones Direct.
499CDN for the S7 Edge on Rogers for me. Plus 13% tax. Then $77+tax a month for a 5gb corporate plan.
Had 2 phones to upgrade with sprint. Pre-ordered today, will be around $32 a month for the S7 Edge on a 24mo plan (option to upgrade after 12 months on the new Galaxy Forever through sprint) and the 2nd phone an S7 at around $13 (had a buy 2 get one at 50% off for the S7). Was no up front costs right now but might have to pay taxes on them both once the phones are in, but i'm not sure.
I have went with an upgrade through CPW with EE.
S7 edge.
Unlimited call/texts and 5gb data.
£129.99 upfront and £37.49 a month.done through quidco so get £65 cash back.best deal I could find.
You think you are getting screwed in the us mate in australia it cost me $105 a month for unlt calls and 6gb data 24 months..

To be fair that works out around £55 a month after conversion, not much more than you'd pay here in the UK. What would you pay up front for the phone?
What do u mean upfront? We pay a month in advance for the plan but other than that $0 upfront for the phone
