Camera trap with 240fps! - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
The problem here is related to camera, not with my phone, but my cousin's one, whenever he switches to 240 fps video recording, the phone crashes, forcing him to reboot.
As regarding my 6P, I'd never faced such issue. I looked online, and found few people complaining about it, many of them considered replacing the defective unit. *which is difficult in my country*
Does anyone here have any kind of solution for such problem? :crying:

Has he tried doing a factory reset and make sure he's on the latest version?

I'm sure it's the latest version.
But it's a used phone *almost new* and he did factory reset before doing anything.

Mine used to crash like that but now does not, always been totally stock, on Feb. update.

So, it had been resolved by Feb update?

Check Apps
I had same issue.
The reaqson was in LiveWallpaper which crashed device camera.
Another one had this issue because of one static wallpaper.
Check your apps & walppapers. You also may try to turn on Safe Mode to exclude 3rd party apps from loading.

Stock KF3 dialer freezes/lags?

Is anyone experiencing an issue when using the dialer in stock KF3? It freezes for a few seconds when switching between the tabs (Keypad, Logs, Contacts and Favourites).
This wasn't like this when I first got the phone. But suddenly it started to behave badly. This is the only problem I've experienced.
I'm running stock unrooted KF3.
Please help me.
If it weren't there from the first then you may have installed something which is causing the issue?

Wonder what that could be. Maybe Skype influencing with the dialer or something. I'll try uninstalling.
But now I got a FC:
Activity Phone (in process android.process.acore) is not responding
I tried switching back and forth from Keypad to Contacts, everything was fine.
Also I tried switching from Contacts to Favourites, everything fine.
But when I try to switch to/from Logs, everything freezes/lags.
I tried cleaning Logs (call history), everything fine now.
WOW WEIRD!
That shouldn't be a solution, I mean removing Call history, nah. How long was it anyway? I've mine for 2 months since I purchased, never had a prob!

About the same, 2 months.
Maybe I do a factory reset if this occurs again.
Oh well, now I am scared if it will happen to me as well, least both of us on KF3!

Strange (repeatable) reboot issue

Not sure if it's just me, but every/any time I try to open up the USA Today app, my phone reboots.
I've tried clearing data, clearing cache, uninstalling/reinstalling and the same thing - click the icon, splash screen, droid animation...
Anybody else?

Absolutely love this phone, but was beginning to think I might've gotten a lemon. Guess will just have to wait for the JB update :fingers-crossed:

I installed the app just to see, and it reboots my phone after the splash screen as well. (on wifi)
No problems here - that "do you want alerts?" notification pops up immediately after the splash screen... maybe a coincidence, but worth mentioning... I guess.

doesnt happen to me either. I said "no" to alerts -- if it's rebooting, did you say "yes" to alerts?
Never even got to that point.

Is this freshly downloaded or being restored from a previous account? I wonder if you have the right one for ICS. Mine is v. 1.9.

Fresh installed. Even tried uninstalling and reinstalling from the Play Store.
Wonder what the difference is!?

I'm wondering if it's some conflict between two apps.
Update: took a quick look at the reviews and see one person reporting it -- are you dmitry?

I've got the same problem here. Weirdly, it also occurs when I try and use the AP Mobile app. Happens if I'm on wifi or mobile data.
Maybe part of Moto's plan to deny us access to quality news apps?
I came to the boards to see if this random rebooting was just my problem but seems like it is not. My phone has been rebooting for the last 3 nights in a row around the same time, 10pm eastern time. No clue what is causing it.
Also tried the USA Today app and yes it does reboot the phone.
Very strange...
Another issue I have is....my phone screen kinda flickers and starts getting brighter from dimmed screen.
Anyone else gets this?
UPDATE: I just saw this in the general section - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919581
and I also installed Nova Launcher recently and I feel like that might be the culprit...This is really really strange.

Parts of my screen are occasionally disappearing

Like this picture: http://i46.tinypic.com/2cwreyr.jpg, it only happens on certain apps (like Messaging). Sometimes icons on the status bar disappear and reappear too, is this a hardware or software problem?

still sounds like something is loose. you can always factory reset and try reflashing the stock update, but i dont think that its a software issue.
Erase everything and reflash again, if the problem still persists, then you can be sure it's HW(which is not the case imo) and know what to do.
I'm in the UK. Ordered Nexus 4 on Friday the 15th. Phone arrived on Tuesday. Had this problem straight out of the box (it came with Jelly Bean 4.0). It wasn't resolved by updating to 4.21 or 4.22, or with a reset to factory settings. Phoned up Google just now and RMAed the phone. Bit of a pain given I'm in college accommodation so organising pickup is going to be annoying but not much else I can do. This is the only thread I've been able to find with the problem and the problem is identical on my phone (happens in apps and on the home screen, goes away when I touch the screen).
Edit: Phone was produced in Jan 2013 in Korea if that at all correlates with OP's phone
Edit 2: It seems the gaps in text and apps show up in screenshots. Pretty perplexing considering that suggests software, whilst the updates etc suggest hardware

Settings keeps stopping

Had anyone here faced such similar problem? On my G7 I have such bug, but I refuse to hard reset . Maybe it'll come back after reset
Maybe there's some solution or maybe some one knows what app is the source of this bug?
These are different phones. Have you posted in the G7 forum?
I had this issue on my g6. Wiped it completely and did a clean install of latest stock ROM. Fixed it and now I have no issues.

Try to clear data and cache of the settings app, also G6 != G7.

I rebooted in safe mode. In this mode settings work just fine. I cleared cache of settings but AFAIR it won't let me clear data neither in safe nor in normal mode.
G6 != G7 , but, well, LG phones have much more in common than differences. Anyway, guy quoted below had the same bug in G6

Yeah, that's what I still refuse to do. But it seems that eventually I'll do it, but not before my G7 would have get Pie. While it's on Oreo I let it keep crashing.
Anyways, it's LG big issue, to have such a HUGE bug in their ROM. Settings in fact is probably one of most used app on a phone. And it's lame to have bugs in such fundamental soft for such a flagship company. I never had such bug in any of my 6 LG models be4
Just a thought... Do you by any chance have a port of gcam 6.1+ installed? On my G6 h870 certain versions of the port caused settings to crash constantly.

Mate, where were you so long? You're soooo helpful. Uninstalled Gcams and problem is now gone. I believed that someone will fix my porblem and you make it.
Well, it must be widespread problem considering how many people keep installing GCams and yet seems as no one knows about it. Strange IMHO

For some reason update fails for me. I run it from the file manager, it reboots and starts updating, but at about third of the progress the phone just reboots abruptly. Did anyone else have this issue?

I did it via recovery, no problems for me, try to download file again and then try through recovery it is simple
I just downloaded it again this morning and tried with the same method and it worked this time. Pretty unusual for this to happen.

Ok but did you have the problem before? Because for some users there were no issues also before this update. Judging from the xda poll the ratio is/was around 50/50.

Did you update it? I tried, I still had the issue, did a full format and it is working fine at the moment. I hate the software optimization on this phone. It is just the worst I have used.

No, I updated the phone to OnePlus 7T
But still till the very last moment was considering to give the x2 Pro a shot as I really liked it.
