Return your 5X to stock with TWRP
I put together a few files to make it easy to return your phone to stock for OTA updates or just for starting over Fresh
First you need to already have TWRP on your phone
New Version here >> kiwi_twrp_5-14_recovery.img
To use this backup you need to already have at least one TWRP backup on your ext-sdcard (to create the directory's)

You must flash the Full firmware update

Now simply reboot to recovery / choose restore / choose the file you copied to the SD / make sure all the files are selected for restore. This will replace TWRP with Stock Recovery
If you want a complete Wipe, go to wipe / swipe to factory reset, before you reboot

[GUIDE] How flash stock rom/restore twrp backup/reanimate mate7 for noob

Hi all again. Today i write guide for noob
How Flash Stock rom???
1. First download rom to your pc
2. When you download rom open in winrar and check pack
3. If you have only one file update.app you can extrack but first you must create in desktop folder named dload and extract there.
4. If you have root and want flash full rom you can do it but you must have stock recovery.
5. Copy dload to your extsdcard and go to dialpad and write *#*#2846579#*#* and choise 4 and 1.
6. Your phone now power off and flash new firmware.
7. When its finish your phone boot again with new firmware.
P.s Flash firmware for your region or you be have bootloop or software brick and if you have you must have unlocked bootloader to reanimate your mate7
How Flash Ota update???
1. Download Ota update to your pc
2. Open using winrar and check do you have all folder and file look for exsample
cust
META-INF
patch
system
update.app
3. If you have that same folder do not extract from update.zip
4. Create dload on desktop and copy there update.zip and now copy to your extsdcard and go to dialpad and write *#*#2846579#*#* and choise 4 and 1.
5. Your phone now power off and flash new firmware.
6. When its finish your phone boot again with new firmware.
How restore twrp backup ???
1. If you have lollipop you must use pc to create folders:
TWRP/BACKUPS/ here you must put downloaded backup
2. If you have marshmallow you must use pc to create folders:
TWRP/BACKUPS/YOUR SERIAL NUMBER/ and here you must put downloaded backup
3. Download backup for your mate7 and extraxt to desktop
4. Copy all file to create folder and now copy TWRP folder to your internal sdcard or ext sdcard.
5. Power off your phone and go to TWRP RECOVERY
6. Select storege where you copy backup and now go restore.
7. If you see backup you can now restore.
8. Whene its restore go back and do it wipe data/cache/dalvick cache and reboot
9. First boot can make very long time and wait when in boot to system.
P.s When you use TWRP 2.8.7.X and do ot wipe data you lose your file and vendor country but when you use TWRP 3.0.2.0 you don't lose. If you lose you must restore using tool from this topic but you must be root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/development/tool-srk-tool-huawei-beta-02-20160501-t3369990
How to reanimater your mate after bootloap???
We have 2 methode for now.
Firts it's restore twrp backup and secend its fastboot and downgrade pack
If you use twrp backup and its work very good for you but if dont work you must use fastboot method
1. Power off device and go to fastboot
2. Extract file from update.app for lollipop :
- system
- cust
- boot
- recovery
- userdata
for Marshmallow extract :
- system
- cust
- boot
- recovery
3. Install adb drive from this topic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118
and copy all file to C:/adb on your windows
4. Open CMD as administator and write this commads
cd C:/adb
adb fastboot
Now you on fastboot mode
When you extract file frome update.app you must rename file :
10.boot.img to boot.img
11.recovery.img to recovery.img
13.cust.img to cust.img
14.system.img to system.img
If you remane you can flash img file using fastboot methode using cmd
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot flash system system.img
It's take very long but wait. When its finish take micro sd adapter and put you micro sdcard and connect to pc and copy full rom :
If you use lp file because you have bootloop on lp you must flash that same rom what you flash file using fastboot
and do it that same for marshmallow
when you copy put your adapter to slot of microsdcard in your mate7
Now power of your phone and try go to flash method using 3 bottom on you mate7
VOL+ POWER + VOL- when you seescreen on realese power and wait. Now you see how rom its flash.
If you have error you must use downgrade pack from mm to lp and flash.
When its flash you must flash lp.
If you have error you must use downgrde pack from lp to kk and flash.
When its finish you must flash kk rom.
Now you back to rom after bootloop and you can try again flash rom what you want.
Finish guide for noob
Cheers :highfive:
Thanks for the guide. I want to restore to MM from kk using twrp? Is it possible? I only wait 5 minutes after restore reboot then I think something must be wrong so I restore my own backup. I will give a try again.
Sent from my HUAWEI MT7-L09 using XDA-Developers mobile app
No you can't do it you must first flash kk second lp and then you flash mm

Hi buddy, your guide is gold. I explain what i did up to now. I wanna know how to proceed safely.
1) 2 year old MT7-L09 Mate 7. Long time ago i go bootloader unlocked, rooted and updated to lollipop stock. dont know which firmware version.
2) TWRP 2.8.7.0. Wanted to factory reset after long time no using the phone, ended up wiping OS and god knows what else.
3) Can access fastboot and TWRP.
4) Tried stock recovery and 3 button method to downgrade or install stock update.app. Nothing worked it always got stuck at 90%.
Up to there nothing worked. I guess i must have damaged some critical files.
Then i found your guide and wanted to try making a lollipop restore from TWRP. Found a file.
Now, if i understood what you have written in red, i may have wiped oem information like country and vendor. Maybe thats because i cant install stock from huawei.
How can i restore that info? is there any way i can backup my bootloader info, or retrive my country and vendor info?
How do you suggest me to proceed safely.
Thanks
Sebastian

Im form Argentina. Phone was bought in US. I dont mind putting any country version as long as i can bring it back alive.
Luckily i have saved phone imei, serial number and id in evernote. Maybe that can help to figure it out.
Do you have a procedure or guide to do that you are suggesting?
if you have unlocked bootloader you can try use SRKToolHuawei-Lod-Chong-V2.0-20161002 to change oem info and then try flash correct your rom using dload method. But if you change region you must unlock again bootloader but when you go to fastboot you have unlocked. Unlock again because its locked

Im on C66 how to update on newer firmware version?

So,
My phone is vns-l21c66b131 and is there any way to update to newer versions without rooting and if possible can someone write steps on how to do it?
If you use <SEARCH> you find followings:
<After a few day of reading users personal experiences regarding upgrade to Android 7 Nougat i make the big step myself...
My device is VNS-L21 model and entire process goes flawless...
Device state was stock MM VNS-L21C432B150, bootloader lock, dualsim enabled.
1. Unlock bootloader folowing by Automatic Factory Reset.
2. Flash TWRP
3. From TWRP i flash Meticulus TWRP
4. Reboot to TWRP and flash update.zip and update_data_full_VNS-L31_hw_eu.zip, both flash ends with errors, without reboot between flashes.
5. After that, i reboot device and boot in system ok, start configuration, etc.
6. I reboot to fastboot and flash Nougat Recovery reworked by @BadWolfYe
I am not experienced camera bug, all works fine and i have now a fully functional phone.
BTW, dualsim remain enabled and works both sims.
Thanks to all contributors for these pieces of firmware, first of all to @BadWolfYe!>
For that's is <SEARCH>, not to open another topic for same problem...
Thanks for the reply, but I'm not talking about Nougat, I talk about MM b161 update. How to do it if my carrier is c66 and the newest update there is b131

If you want to stay on C66 you have to wait to OTA updates...
If you make any upgrade via dload folder on sdcard your phone will go from C66 to C900 (global)
Another alternative is to debrand your phone to C432 (hw eu)
For any of this is treated here in some topics...
So I just need to create dload folder and put the zip there?

[ GUIDE ] Restoring and relocking a bricked FRD-L04, L09 or L19 using Dload

This guide is for those who want to restore their device in case TWRP isn't working out or want to make sure their bootloaders and FRP is locked.
This works for FRD-L04, L09 or L19.
First make sure that you are on the latest version of TWRP. You can download the latest one from here ( https://goo.gl/QARI5A ) and flash it via fastboot. Once that is done then boot into it and completely wipe ur device clean using advanced wipe. So you'll have to wipe system, data, internal storage, cache and dalvik (DON'T WIPE ANYTHING ELSE). Once you're done with that download the rollback package and the entire firmware package from the links below depending on your model no.
FRD-L04 = https://goo.gl/dhMwEJ
FRD-L09 = https://goo.gl/57EQDV
FRD-L19 = https://goo.gl/57EQDV
This will download the the necessary files for your model FRD-L04, L09 or L19.
After that download the Huawei update.app extactor tool from here (https://goo.gl/yuuDL1). Now extract the update.app file of the rollback package and using the tool you've just downloaded extract the recovery.img from it. Now flash the extracted recovery using fastboot. Then place the rollback update.app file in a dload folder in your MicroSD card and press volume + and the power button to run the update. After it completes remove the MicroSD card from your device, extract the update.app file from the large firmware package and place it in the same dload folder replacing the rollback package on your MicroSD card. Then put the card back into the phone and run the update again using volume + and the power button. This should install the operating system on your device. Once it is done the phone will restart into the OS. You will now have an early build of marshmallow.
When you update the phone to Nougat the bootloader will lock and if you want to FRP lock for protection from theft then go to developer options and remove allow OEM unlocking. To make sure that your bootloader will lock please select "Download latest full package".

what was your earlier version when you were on stock ROM? may be you can flash the same or higher version. Dload will work for sure its just a matter of trial and error of few firmwares.

I actually used this to come from a custom ROM. It'll work if you use TWRP and wipe the system partition and then use stock recovery to flash the stock ROM.

Hey!
You have to go back to EMUI 4.1 by restoring a TWRP backup and then you will update to EMUI 5. Ive used the following process on my CAN-L11 and worked fine. It should work on all models. @virusdunil has followed the same process on his MLA-L03 and everything went fine.
Let me know if you experience some trouble during this process.
Go back to EMUI 4.1 (MM)
1) Download this TWRP backup of MM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73003510&postcount=60.
2) You can put the backup to internal memory or sdcard, After you've chose where you wanna put it, take a backup of boot.img with TWRP to internal/sdcard (where you wanna put the backup), so you'll get a folder with this structure: TWRP > BACKUPS > FPFDU16A20001907 (you'll have different number I guess). Then you'll put the twrp backup folder (which you have downloaded) in that folder with numbers
3) Boot in TWRP, wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache from twrp > wipe > advanced and then you restore the backup from TWRP > restore (restore only system + data + boot). Then you reboot and you're good to go.
Click to collapse
Now update to EMUI 5 (N)
After youve downloaded the stock firmware using Firmware Finder, you should have two files:
- update.zip
- update_data_full_CAN-L11_hw_eu.zip (example)
Backup your internal memory as it will be wiped at step 8).
1) Extract update.zip. Then you get UPDATE.APP.
2) Download Huawei Update Extractor.
3) Open Huawei Update Extractor, choose UPDATE.APP from the folder where youve extracted it. Right click RECOVERY.img and extract it.
4) Now boot your phone in fastboot mode by pressing and holding the power and the volume down buttons at the same time.
5) Type in terminal / command prompt on PC to flash the stock recovery which youve extracted at step 3):
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
.
6) Reboot.
7) Put update.APP in a folder called dload on your sdcard.
8) Dial *#*#2846579#*#* and choose Sofware Upgrade > SDCard Upgrade. Now EMUI 5 will be installed, bootloader gets relocked and internal memory gets wiped. Now wait about 5 mins (maximum 10 mins). If the phone isnt booting within that time, then boot the phone in stock recovery by pressing and holding power and volume up buttons and choose "Wipe data / factory reset" and then "Wipe cache partition". After you reboot, the phone should boot. Skip the setup wizard.
9) Remove update.APP from dload folder from your sdcard and extract the other zip (example update_data_full_CAN-L11_hw_eu.zip) and put all the files/folders extracted in dload folder.
10) Dial *#*#2846579#*#* and choose Sofware Upgrade > SDCard Upgrade.
11) You are done.

Now update to EMUI 5 (N)
.
6) Reboot.
7) Put update.zip in a folder called dload on your sdcard.

Hi robert, i succesfully downgraded to MM and restored (i guess) stock recovery. But when I try to upgrade to nougat via sdcard upgrade the phone can't find the update.zip file.
Maybe the problem is my phone believe he is a CAN instead of a MLA, and don't recognize a MLA update.zip file?
If that is the case, you need to use the firmware extractor and "fastboot flash system system.img" to get your build.prop back. That would get your device to recognize as what it is.

I found the issue, I had to unzip the update.zip tp UPDATE.app file in dload folder. The phone got bootloop at first flash, but wiping all solved the problem. Now i'm back to stock with proper build number, thanks @wangdang and @#Henkate for your support :victory:

Hey!
I've got your PM, but I see that meanwhile you've posted here and you made a new thread too... You don't have to make so many posts, a post or a thread is enough to get the attention of someone.
In your case, the phone model is MLA-L11 and C185/C432 is the build number as far as I remember. You can check the build number in Settings > About phone. I don't know if there's any other way to check, if you're on other build number now and you don't know which one was yours.

Hi
I've managed to backup EMUI 4.1, however I'm getting error message "software install failed" trying to update EMUI to 5.0 (pops up, every time when it reach 5% progress).
Any idea how to fix it?
best regards

Steps #9 and #10 do not work for me ("Software install failed"). But I wonder if they are necessary after all, because Product Id, IMEI, Build-number (and of course EMUI-Version and Android-Version) are stock again.
And isn't "update_full_CAN-L01_hw_eu.zip" supposed to be included in the "update.zip"-file? I thougt "update.zip" allready delivers every part of the ROM.

[GUIDE] Use different region firmware without rebranding

Things Needed:
Unlocked Honor 7x : Go here
A PC
WinRAR
Firmware Finder
HuaweiUpdateExtractor_0.9.9.5
Note: I suggest you to read from here and see all guides from here to backup your phone completely before doing this
Downloads:
1. Firmware Finder : Website
2. HuaweiUpdateExtractor_0.9.9.5 : OP
Instruction:
1. Run Firmware finder and go to Common Base tab, enter bnd in Model for find and click Find
2. Click the link under Filelist of the latest FullOTA package (I used BND-AL10C00B182)
3. Download the first link (update.zip) and third link (update_full_BND-AL10_all_cn.zip) from the pop up and extract UPDATE.APP from them to different locations, using winrar. Now you have 2 UPDATE.APP files at different locations.
Again, Download the last link of latest OTA Package of your variant (update_BND-L22_hw_in.zip for india) (optional) (i used BND-AL10C675B140CUSTC675D002)
4. Run HuaweiUpdateExtractor_0.9.9.5 and select Honor 7x from drop down list. Now in Extract tab locate UPDATE.APP and right click any file and select extract all.
5. Repeat again for second UPDATE.APP file.
6.
a. Reboot to TWRP and copy system.img, product.img, vendor.img, version, cust.img to memory card
b. Tap install and tap image
c. Select system.img and choose system
d. Repeat for all images you copied in step 6. a
7. Wipe data and reboot to system
8. Once system boots up, reboot to TWRP
9. Copy your backed up product, version and cust images to memory card and flash using TWRP (see steps 6.a and 6.b)
10. Flash the the ota of your variant (update_BND-L22_hw_in.zip for india)
Reboot

Dumb question: I can't install the latest BND-AL10 on my BND-L21 phone right? There are some hardware restrictions, or something like that?
Because I swiped my OS accidently three weeks ago, and I don't have other phone so... If I can have basic functions of the Honor 7X waiting for the official BND-L21 STOCK ROM, it's ok for me.
Thanks a lot, sorry for this stupid question...

It'll work just fine if you just wiped system
Make backup of other Partitions and follow the guide same way

Why does the Firmware Finder not show the BND-L24C567B130 update?
I installed this OTA update on my new L24, but didn't think to capture the update.zip at the time.

You meant this sleek? How to get Indian AL10 worth Google play? The
Clarification ---
I had an Honor 7x BND-L24 but because I could not find stock firmware I returned it as I was afraid to root it without being able to restore to factory reset version.
So if I understand from your post, I can use another firmware set and it will work just fine by following your steps?
1. What firmware do you suggest we use?
2. In one of your posts you mentioned - "Make backup of other Partitions and follow the guide same way" - How is this accomplished?
If I can find a way to root this phone and then factory reset it, I would buy it again.
