Lenovo k4 note replace kingroot with supersu app - Lenovo Vibe K4 Note Questions & Answers

How to Get Ride and Replace Kinguser with SuperSU App
method is very simple and easy, the process is just clicking a button and your device is rooted, but KingRoot App doesn’t use “SuperSu” App as a Superuser access management tool it uses another App called “Kinguser”, not only this it install another Chinese App called “KingMaster”
Many people don’t feel fine with “Kinguser” and “King Master” installed on their devices as they are unknown Apps for Android users, So if you want to get ride and uninstall/replace “Kinguser” with “SuperSu” App, we will show you how to replace it and get rid of “Kinguser” and related files.
Requirements:
Rooted Android device with Kinguser App installed.
Android Terminal Emulator https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidtermApp.
Es File Explorer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.popApp.

Code:
sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh
then enter.
Don’t touch your device and wait.
Once done, SuperSu App will launch automatically, if not launch it manually.
Update SU binary by tapping CONTINUE > NORMAL, don’t click TWRP/CWM, wait until it finish, then REBOOT your device.
Rebooting isn’t required for Lenovo K4 Note and other devices which have temporary root (you will lose root access if you reboot your device).
Check your device’s App drawer, you will find that this tool replace Kinguser and related applications with SuperSU.
Download “Root Checker” App to check if your device still have root access or not.
Notes:
If you lose root access after running the tool re-root your device using KingRoot tool.
Make sure you place “mrw” folder into /sdcrad/, if not it will not work.
su and sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh must be typed in lowercase.
You can delete “mrw” folder after using it.
Check Google Play Store if there is update for SuperSU App to install it.
This tool should work on any device (HTC, LG, Sony, Samsung, Lenovo …)

Issue with OTA updates after rooting using Kingroot
Hi all, I had rooted my K4 note using the Kingroot application. Then once I saw the latest OTA update available, I unrooted my device with Kingroot itself and tried OTA update. But it is again and again going to failed state. Not sure how to fix. Any help would be very much appreciated. My device is no more rooted and still I am unable to update it.

Worked for me!

Try Formatting your phone after unrooting. Wipe data and Cache from Recovery. You'll find it hectic though to install all apps again but this is the only way. You can also try Going to Lenovo service centre where they'll do the same and return the phone after 5 days!

I searched for the kitkat root but couldn't find it. New to this site so still learning how to navigate. I used cf auto root. Completed the process. Downloaded the root checker from play store. It said it was rooted but when I open WiFi tether it said not rooted. Is this due to the new 5.0.1.? Phone came with it on it. Thanx.

Go into SuperSU (if you don't have it download it from the Play Store) and hit menu, then settings, then change SU Access from Prompt to Grant.

I am also trying to do mine which is on 5.0.1. Did u use same cf auto root for 4.4.2 Also did u use odin v3.10 or 3.07 that came bundled with 4.4.2 cf root. thanks
I used cf auto root on Odin 3.10. 3.7 worked as well. Root worked. Also got wifi tether router to work. The root program was 4.4.4. Found it on a trend on this site.

Typically these updates do remove root. Best to wait until someone has a root method figured out for the new update.

I just updated via the OTA method on AT&T. Rebooted twice. I still have root (verified by Root Checker). Here's my About page:
Here's the root checker pic:
I now have OC2. Update OTA with confidence!
I originally rooted OC1 (Lollipop) by following the Root/OC1 method.
EDIT: I just checked for stagefright vulnerability (via Stagefright detector). It reports that my device is NOT VULNERABLE. Nice.
I took the chance because this site has helped me in sooo many ways. It's the least I could do. Thanks everyone.
I'm rooted and my update failed at 26%

Update failed for me at 25% too. I'm rooted OC1.
Does this update do more than just fix the stagefright exploit?
If not, then kmokhtar already posted a flashable update fix for stagefright which works great.
Could you post a link to that? I have been unable to find it via xda search, google search, browsing in note 3 forums...
Why is this 'update' 5.0? I could have sworn it was just up to 5.1.1

Those like me who have installed modded apps like S6 and have mixed in deodexed files, the OTA will fail. the OTA installer MD5 checks the system files and if any fail it will abort the Update. Any deodexed system files will also abort the Update
How to updated to OC2 if your OTA failed
1. Download and unzip and copy this Folder to OC1 stock root backup to your TWRP backup folder,
\TWRP\BACKUPS\0b70b440\N900A_OC1_Lollipop_Stock_Rooted_Backup
2. Copy OC1 kernel recovery installer to your sdcard SM-N900A_N900AUCUEOC1_KERNEL_Recovery-Flashable.zip
*** You can also go ahead and copy Safestrap-HLTEATT-NC2-3.75-B03[1].apk and NC2 Flasher to your sdcard ***
3 Download the OC2 OTA 2400258.cfg
rename the 2400258.cfg OC2 to 2400258.zip and copy to your sdcard
4 Install the OC1 backup,
N900A_OC1_Lollipop_Stock_Rooted_Backup.zip
5. Install OC1 Kernel
SM-N900A_N900AUCUEOC1_KERNEL_Recovery-Flashable.zip
6. (I did a factory wipe , but Warning you will loose UserData settings and Apps you installed) You might try without but if you had a custom SystemUI and Touchwiz as I did it might FC because you have setting in Userdata pertaining to the Custom apps that you will over write with the OC1 backup.
7. Select Reboot and then select Recovery to boot to stock recovery and install as a update from external storage. mine installed with no issues.
8. To get safe strap back working Download and copy Safestrap-HLTEATT-NC2-3.75-B03[1].apk to sdcard (if you have not done yet)
9. Download and copy NC2 Flasher by benwaffle
10. Install Safestrap-HLTEATT-NC2-3.75-B03, run app and install recovery ( do not press reboot to recovery, it will only take you to stock recovery)
11. Install NC2 Flasher app and then use it to boot to recovery.
12. Do a backup of your new OC2
Now you can customized and do what you want

After flashing twrp dont let the device reboot. The stock recover overwrites twrp. In odin uncheck reboot then after the twrp install you have to boot to recovery Vol+ home and power..

I freeze my apps using Titanium Backup, and I have never activated them before an update
Hi everyone, I installed this and issue arised, my system settings went to default rather than my customized settings.
But started to realize that my quick charge isn't working anymore (at least doesn't show a notification saying the fast charge is connected) and also no more vibrations for my touch light keys (back and switching apps buttons) when I touch them.
Pretty annoying, anyone has these issues and know how to fix these? Thanks

There is no stock recovery for Sony phones mate, reflash your firmware with Flashtool or Newflasher to remove it completely.
You need to flash magisk as well, just installing twrp doesnt root your phone.
You can try this one:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xz-premium/how-to/ftf-firmware-g8141-g8142-47-1-8-49-t3734592
Don't forget to tag the wipe options, otherwise it could be possible that the phone is after flashing in a bootloop (happen on my side )
Please keep in mind:
In Orego the camera and so on doesn't work anymore, because of the deleted DRM Keys ... after that upgrade to Pie

Don't forget to tag the wipe options, otherwise it could be possible that the phone is after flashing in a bootloop (happen on my side )
Please keep in mind:
In Orego the camera and so on doesn't work anymore, because of the deleted DRM Keys ... after that upgrade to Pie

If I upgrade to pie the camera will get fixed? I am trynna remove this root so I can fix it. Well that's what I was told
If you lost your DRM, you can still have root. Root is not the reason of the green picture, it's the behavior that unlock the Bootloader delete the DRM Keys. With Pie the camera should be working with or without root

There is no stock recovery for Sony phones mate, reflash your firmware with Flashtool or Newflasher to remove it completely.
You need to flash magisk as well, just installing twrp doesnt root your phone.

how do i remove it with newflasher? when i check for root it says root is not installed properly, and when i try to backup my stuff it says "rooted devices cant be backed up" and i wanna remove this whole twrp and magisk
From what I know : root can not be reverse : One time root, every time root with all conseqences.
About the "half" rooted device:
Does you have enabled OEM bootloader before unlook the BL in the developer menu?

the bootloader is unlocked.
In this case : No way back, no warranty

yeh probably. but i still wanna remove the root
Remove Root: anyway of which Rom you've in use: uninstall Magist or SuperSu; or flash a Stockrom; or flash a custom rom without incl. root (e. g. CM without add. Addon for Root) Root is gone.... but Your BL is still unlocked and in case that you haven't backup and restore the TA partition : your DRM Keys are lost.
For warranty, Sony looks at the Bootloader... so I didn't understand what is your final goal?

This is nonsense. If you flashed a stock rom with newflasher or flashtool, root has to be removed.

Is there a good app to check if I still have root? Maybe the one I am using doesn't actually work
install Adaway... this App need the root permissions...
If you have root and an app like SuperSu, Magisk.... the app will ask you, if Adaway should received the rights or not.

Forget a backup....
Backup your files via PCB and try first of all "reset to factory settings"
