(Answerd) Flash Stock ROM in Lava Iris X8 (MTK 6592, Battery Non-removable) - Lava Iris X8 Questions & Answers

Dear Members,
Hope you all are doing great and having a good time with your best buddy, I mean to say your smartphone.
and if anything happen to your best buddy then it feels so bad to you......
And today it happen with me. I just got find out that My #LavaIrisX8 just got hacked because of some #Kitkat #vulnerability. and having so much problem like remotely installed unwanted application, having extra Data Usage.
try to reset my phone but again same problem, then again format via Hard reset button then again this problem occur.
then I thought that now, I need to format and install a new ROM or the latest version and hopefully this Model has a official #lollipop ROM available over the #Internet. That moment I downloaded the ROM and try to install it but when I am connecting it via #SPFlashTool ,it is not detecting my phone cause most MTK device connect with #SpFlashTool without battery but this phone has Non-removable battery. search the some #XDA thread but can't find something useful. after searching some thread I find a thread which has some tips but with a little difference I tried to manage to install this new #lollipop Rom. and also find out how to connect it with #SpFlashTool in MTK Non-removable battery phones.
Requirements:
[*]Lava Iris X8 with USB Debbugging on
[*]MTK Driver Installed
[*]Lollipop ROM
[*]SP Flash Tool
How to perform this:
Download the all the essential parts from the given link and first install the MTK driver. then extract the Lava Iris X8 Lollipop firmware and it has #SPFlashTool within the Lava ROM folder.
First Switched off your Lava Iris X8
Open the #SPFlashTool folder and open (flash_tool.exe) and click on the download tab and click on (Scatter-Loading) button and select the Scatter file for This MediaTek Device. you can find the Scatter file in firmware folder.
then #SPFlashTool will load all ROM essential file and after loading the ROM click on the Download button and then connect your switched off Lava phone with pressing the Volume Down button via USB Cable. then you will see that #SPFLashTool detected your Lava Iris X8 and it is installing the #Lollipop ROM.
Once installation part complete, you will get a pop up with green Success mark. Just disconnect your phone from USB cable and click on power on button and wait for your phone to boot up. First boot will take a little more time, have a patience.
After booting up you will recognize that your is your phone is on #Official #Lollipop ROM.
Things to remember:
[*]Install the MTK VCOM mobile driver
[*]Connecting the phone with #SPFlashTool press "Volume Down" Button

Root device? Safe?

Hi!
I have had this phone for a while now and thinking about rooting it so i can use droidwall and OC the phone. How is the easiest wat and is it safe?
Isak
i used z4root and no side-effect so far..
Ok, but if something goes wrong is it anyway to recover all data on the phone and just start up again?
i would say its always wise to do a backup before trying anything potentially dangerous..
u may read the other topic about recovery mode in this board for this..
Ok, gör det innan jag försöker roota
good luck and have fun..
worked perfect Thanks!
@Isakk1, can you please guide me how you rooted your u8800 using z4root?I got problem with the driver (huawei hsusb device)

USB driver for windows? do you see the auto mounted CD drive after plugging in? the drivers are there
Why need of drivers?
Assuming you are trying to copy z4root on your device... SD-card should mount itself when you plug usb in, just choose to mount from your phone notification are.
Moved to general.
I think this is what you're trying to do:
1. Open device manager, you will see this:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then right click on the HSUSB Device choose update driver then browse my computer manually. Then browse to this:
It will then install the driver and it should show this in device manager now:
Also worthwhile would be starting cmd and running adb devices to make sure the phone is listed.
thankz a lot guys..very appreciated
i rooted my phone . but i feel it's not good idea when i use 1 week. the phone always have some issues when use, so i flash back.
Can someone upload the drivers and share the link coz I can't find the drivers on the mounted drive (it's empty) after I installed the B160 based ROM.
Drivers attached to this post
Thanks alot!
I used z4root from Applanet.net

What recovery do you use???
Thanks for your response.
I'm a complete newbie.
I'm not sure, how do I find out ?
All I did was install the standard ROM by downloading it, copy it to the sd card and restarting whilst pressing Vol+, Vol- & the power button on my U8650.
Then I rooted it by restarting whilst holding down Vol+ & Power and then selecting the root.zip.
After that I tried the same with your zip !!
That's all I've done since I've had the phone.
OK, not so much of a newbie anymore.
Managed to install a CWM and then your ROM
Seems a bit slower. But it's beautiful.

How to root, step-by-step.

ok guys, so first, i want to apologize for my bad english. im not very good when it comes to writing and talking.
let's go; what we are going to do is flash the ROM with aan included ROOT, with the posibility of wiping our device.
I remind you that: **I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE OR YOUR COMPUTER.**
**I RECOMMEND CHARGING YOUR BATTERY TO 100%**
**I ALSO RECOMMEND YOU TO MAKE A COPY OF ALL YOUR DATA**
YOU WILL MISS YOUR GARANTY IF YOU ROOT YOUR DEVICE**

First step: DOWNLOAD THE ROM Through this link and place it in your desktop.
2. you will also have to download ODIN 3
3.in Developer options, activate the USB Debugging option (Settings --> Developer options --> USB Debugging
Ok, you have to start ODIN and you have to get your device in Downloading Mode. (you will do this by shuting it off. and then pressing *VOLUME DOWN KEY*+*HOME KEY*+*POWER KEY*. when you do that you should press the volume up key) When you are in Downloading mode you should connect your device to your PC.
4. Once synchronized, with Odin, you have to select "OPEN" where it says PDA. select the archive you downloaded before. (the one with the name *I8190XXALK6_I8190XEFALK1_HOME_ROOTED.tar.md5*) (you have to uncompress that item before using it)
5. then you press start in Odin, and wait 'til the instalation finishes. the your device should reboot and odin should show a message saying PASS!
6. then you should be able to boot your device like you do normally.
EXTRA STEPS JUST IF YOU HAVE ANY ERROR
1. if you cant boot, you will need to WIPE your device instaling this archive and use it like in step 4 through the PDA button.
2. if you still have any problem, you should install this following step 4.
how your device should look like

}
Any problem or suggestion, please comment and thank.
This will install an older December rom! I'm afraid it's a step back, and bad advice.
Most countries have moved on from the LL2 rom in that file.
The instructions also mention the LK6 rom, which is even older, and not attached above.
this is avicoh first rooted rom and it was posted here on the forum long ago. I dont know why u reposted, to be honest i wayted for u to post but thought u come up with another solution that doesnt include Odin.
Best regards,
Yeah this isn't anything new, I and everyone here thought there was some kind of new ROOTING method. The Rom is already Rooted.

Guys Hi! I am Avikar, I have an intex Aqua Power HD and it as the same processor , Ram, Graphic Processor as Lava Iris X8.
I am quite disappointed by Intex for not providing any support for Custom OS.
My question is: Can I install Lava Iris X8 custom OS on to my Phone. Enclosing the comparison.
Can someone suggest something?

Don't panic. Copy the ROM/Firmware files to C:\Qualcomm\QPST\bin\ - Next is restart QFIL, re-select the required files with the new "LOCATION/PATH" which is the one you copied.
Now, remove your phone from computer and then click on Download in QFIL. Connect your phone by pressing Volume up and down.
Good luck!
@Jarvis_official, I think you are in good hands. It shouldn't be much of a problem if your device was detected. You only need to check directories correctly.
