Support reply email from Huawei - Mate 8 General

Hello folks
Huawei provides their users an official way to unblock the bootloader here https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
The catch here is that you cannot get your bootloader code if you haven't been logged on the device with a Huawei ID for less than 14 days, so either you wait 14 days while logged on or use another unsupported method which will cost you about 5 dollars. I don't really care about the support statement of Huawei, I bought the device I didn't rent it, it is mine, and I can do whatever I want with it.
In my waiting time (the 14 days), I sent a query from the HiCare app asking to unblock my bootloader
This is what I got (Original reply was in Italian, and I translated it to English):

Gentile cliente,
Cordiali saluti,

Well, I don't know what to tell you. My inquiry was sent to Huawei through the official channels, and I got an official reply from their Italian representation/legal team and as you can see, they said it is not supported! I think it depends on the modifications you do on your phone, if you unblock the bootloader or root/flash other custom firmwares etc.

Do you happen to know a way to take a full dump of the phone in case I flash it with a newers ROM and want to come back to the original Huawei firmware?
My device is NXT-AL10C00B156 original, no bootloader unlock yet, and I want to make a complete backup of it. Do you know a way of achieving this?

Ofcourse.unlock bootloader install twrp (recovery) and make a full backup (i have a guide here in xda) and if you want To root then... No problem

haha i think he meant to say hed like to do a complete system backup BEFORE unlocking the bootloader so that he can return his device to full stock in the future for warranty purposes

YES That is exactly what I wanted to do. Like a complete firmware dump before I do anything with the phone... just in case I want to revert back for some reason

hmmm....what you could try is do a fastboot backup: http://lifehacker.com/the-most-useful-things-you-can-do-with-adb-and-fastboot-1590337225
not idea tho how "complete" this kinda backup will be without root access....

If sombody has bought its Mate 8 from a Chinese seller and it was shipped from China, he might not even have a warranty in Germany (or EU), but might have to send the Mate 8 back to China for repair.
And the Chinese Huawei branch might have all the rights to consider a unlocked/rooted Mate 8 out of warranty.
The story is completely different for a customer who has bought its Mate 8 from a European Union seller: here the warranty repair is to be claimed from the seller and not the manufacturer (Huawei), as for the European consumer protection legislation.
Then Huawei himself might be legitimate to refuse to directly provide the warranty protection, because this is on charge of the seller and not of the manufacturer.
If an item you bought anywhere in the EU turns out to be faulty or does not look or work as advertised, the seller must repair or replace it free of charge or give you a full refund or reduction in price

[Q] Brand New Owner

Hi everyone. I'm a brand new owner of a T-mobile htc HD2.
UPS delivered today. But prior to receiving the phone I've been
reading alot of reviews, specially here in this amazing site.
After gathering all the information I could, still decided to go ahead
and get this wonderful looking phone, although I believe a
different ROM is defenitely needed (already seen 2 I like, Elegancia and
Energy - perhaps theres a few more to take into consideration).
Now here are my concerns.
1.-I'll be using the phone in the Dominican Republic. Do I need some type
of jailbreak for the phone to work there? It hasnt been activated here in
the U.S. It's a brand new phone in the box.
2.How do I go about installing the ROM? What would be the absolute first step?
Is there a guide?
Thank you in advance for your time and answers.
(please forgive my english).

Rooting HTC Hero GSM 2.1-update-1 (3.41.61.31)

Hi lads,
So I've been trying to root my HTC (Hero GSM 2.1-update-1 (3.41.61.31), originally Orange Spain, but unlocked by code) for few hours now, haven't managed yet. All the articles I've found about rooting this phone seems to be quite old and none seem to be more recent than the latest OTA update they've sent.
Even the latest version of Androot (1.6.2 beta 5) doesn't seem to work; I keep getting a Failed ! No ~~~ Fu goo ~~~ seemingly clueless error.
Found some more hardcore ways to do it, but then again, all of them quite old and no one confirming if for the current version - I don't want to end up with an expensive paperweight
I want to root it in order to install the latest Froyo ROM (Oh, and if anyone have serious reason for opposing to the villainrom 1.7, I'd appreciate a headsup)
Please, could anyone refer me to the definite how-to-root-this-thing?
cheers mates,
f.
Hi!
Are you from Spain? I am and I spent all night trying to root or upgrade to some kind of distro, but there was no luck...
I had the same firmware and update as you, and... at the end I'll get it! :]
The thing was just go to htc page to download the "latest" drivers for your HTC Hero Orange (important to be orange cuz if not it won't be able to download -also it would ask for a serial number, just write it on-).
What you downloaded now is just to downgrade your cellphone and override all newer updates... Then your phone will be back in time to 1.5 (dino-droids!)
Yeeeey! I did a big party after that ¬¬
Well... then all you have to do is follow the steps for a common htchero unlock... you can apply androot, and put some roms and that...
good luck!

[Q] Nodo Update

Can we expect a ROM soon with the recent NODO update ?
Answer is no. At least 1 or 2 month later we may get a NoDo for HD2

I'm hoping it will come soon, but could be a few weeks. With these talented guys though, you never know, it could be much sooner than we think.
Or simply more later that we think.
Anyway nothing if we don't have proper tool.

Good question, how do you drizztzou KNOW that or have you just pulled a random timeframe out of your backside?
no one has a clue, need to see what DFT can do, but if ms make it harder to do then who knows! its a guess but im sure it will happen sooner or later, im not to bothered about it to be honest, all those things i thought i "needed" from WM and android dont seem to be bothering me at all
Someone has an DFT Board Account... The NoDo is rdy to Download there

Had a look over at their site but could'nt find any trace of a Nodo build for the HD2. I can only see the topics not the whole threads as i'm not regstered there but i guess they would open a new topic for that...
Till there is a confirmation from someone who can actually read whole topics and makes it available here i'm not convinced there is a HD2 nodo rom.
When there is an update for NoDo there is no doubt that XDA-Developers will get it when Cotulla and the DFT team leader decide to give it to us. Even if there were an update now, I doubt that any upright member of the DFT website would post it here without the express permission of Cotulla and DFT, as there is the matter of respect for the hard work these people do to be considered.
In a nutshell, it is useless speculating when an update will come, and it is even more useless sending people to a Chinese site they can not read to find an update that is not yet there. All that we can do is be patient, and thankful when it does come.

I think your asking or talking about updating to NODO rather than flash it?
if so, it cant be done yet.
hd2 nodo!!
yes .. so I hope to soon find on the xda single node without having to update hd2 Flesca the rom .... but sure if you know tell me they're working on this?? thanks! I currently have with Roma hd2 wp7 Xmod 7.0.7004.0 sandisk micro sd from 16 gig class 4 HC (ultra mobile, without written as we read on several forums) I chose that because that is the same mon ta hd7 16g: P: P everything goes wonderfully well for a while too !!!!!! long live xda!
in italiano
I dont know if anyone is working on it, sorry!
but i do know that the phone is identified as a "LEO" device when you try and update it, meaning that something is still visible to the updater that could be the reason the update fails
Could they fix it?
maybe, but i wouldnt want to update it
Our HD2 with WP7 is unique, it has its own drivers, drivers Microsoft doesnt support, IF they can get WP7 to update via Zune there is a high chance that an update could completely bugger our device by changing important drivers, meaning you would need to reflash it anyway to get it working again
so, to be honest, i think what we need is a backup program, this will enable us to backup what we need, and reflash the device, we can the restore the backed up programs/data afterwards
And thankfully someone IS working on that

SAMSUNGBRASIL says not to upgrade to Froyo Galaxy3 i5800 in Brazil

Good afternoon everyone, after all these months waiting for the official update to the Android 2.2 Froyo Galaxy3 i5800L of Brazil, I learned via email from a company that galaxy3 of Brazil will not be updated in the official version, what do shows how much the company is concerned about their customers, treating us like fools.
Here is mine indignation regístrate and email in Portuguese speaking on the subject

Well you can just flash any stock or custom ROM.
Yes but there are two reasons for the complaint, they promised to upgrade the first and second does not exist with with PT-BR.

Aah Samsung Customer Support guys are a bunch of losers who don t even know "A" of android. So don t listen to them. Maybe they will release it sometime in the future.
In the meantime there are very good stock and custom ROMs available here in XDA. Just use them.
thanks for the tips, but will try and return the device to request the return, because the company was a promise unfulfilled.
the worst is to see that in other countries like Europe, they are already looking to upgrade to 2.3.3, and beg in Brazil by 2.2, so the parents somo of the third world really, with global social inequality
I'm from Brazil and I'm using in my Froyo Galaxy 3.
Preferred not to risk any custom ROM so I'm using xxjp4 xxjpq on my phone.
This is a very estable ROM and a little more fast.
Language Pt-pt
I just posted to show discontent towards the Samsung I have in Brazil, to look away only by poor sales of the device
As for the custom rom I tried, but the GPS does not work well, it's taking too long and does not update fast.
Even using the gps fix gps opt
thanks

will it work I get a 2.2 rom and change the any useCSC and put CSC operator of my country because it seems that the CSC is the original configuration of the local unit and not the system he works, what do you think?
I don't know, maybe someone with more knowlege can answer this... but most of the stuff from 2.1 doesn't work in 2.2
EDIT: I have cyanogenmod7 on my phone, it is 2.3.4 gingerbread, it does have PT-BR in languages (and lots of others), BUT its still in early stages of development so stuff like sensors, camera and video playback don't work YET. It's actually quite usable, i've been using it for a few weeks now and i'm stunned by how fast it is even after installing lots of apps. how to unlock bootloader?

Like, how exactly?
People says to get a code but we cannot get one no longer since huawei for some reason disabled that option.
Some others says to use DC unlocker. But, how do you exactly use that tool?
Here's the thing. whrn I enter in fastboot mode it says:
PHONE: Locked. (even tho i have oem unlock in dev options)
FRP: UNLOCK.
How can I get PHONE to be unlock??
I tried for my P10 and he asks me 15 €.
It's a little excessive because there is no guarantee of a good result
