Keep your development to yourself. There is no need for another sense 2.1 ROM.
VigiDroid works on his SenseOnFire and that is enough. There is no guide for ROM developing. And don't be tricked that changing a few apps is developing or making an "own" ROM. That is merely scraching the surface that anyone could do. Try compiling cm nightlies from source (many tutorials for that) because the biuldbot is broken as of now.

Sure he didn't mean any disrespect by it, its just we have an awkward situation of some people taking others work and repackaging it as there own, its frowned upon by many here.

[REQUIRED] BETA Testers for my upcoming Kernel

Hello,
Introductions: I am a 15yr old Kernel Developer. Mainly for Samsung Devices. Hacking Kernels and programming is my hobby
I planned to maintain a Kernel for Galaxy NOTE N7000. However, I do not own the device and I want some BETA Testers who can help in testing out my initial Kernel builds.
Testers should-
-Know how to use adb, pull logcats
-And pull dmesg/kmsg logs for me
-Also, do some General Testing
You can have a look at my previous works by clicking links in my sig.
Interested testers, first post in the thread, then send me a PM
Looking forward to maintaining some Good Kernels for this device :good:
Cheers, have a good day.
Dangerous lol do you know about the mmc_cap_erase bug for this device?
Tapatalking on my GT-N7000
Even more dangerous if you come to think of that the recovery on the Galaxy Note is baked into the kernel . So when your kernel is borked, your recovery will probably won't work too . Great!
I know about the eMMC bug, and that's the first thing I will get rid of before sending it to anyone for testing.
Edit: please stay on topic

Your gonna brick a lot of phones of people that volunteer you need to get your own note and JTAG unit for resurrecting the many hard bricks in your future... what you need is some donations to get setup and do this properly. I would look into obtaining the funds to do this. Hats off to u for using your skills to build a kernel

TO make things more clear,
I am using Samsungs Update 4 sources(As per Entropy512, it is safe) + clearing eMMC bug to prevent a hard brick.
If anyone wants to test send me a PM.
I do not want to go offtopic anymore, if nobody is volunteering to test. I will close up the thread.
Thanks.
All known Gingerbread kernels for the Galaxy Note and other affected devices listed above
Kernels built from the GT-I9100 Update4 source code release - this includes XplodWILD's CM9 release and my DAFUQ release, hopefully more kernel choices will become available soon
Kernels with MMC_CAP_ERASE removed from mshci.c should be safe - look for it in the listed features of any kernel based off of N7000 Update3. (N7000 Update3 source code without this change made to render it safe is dangerous.)

A Sample commit of MMC_CAP_ERASE removed from my GT-I9103 KERNEL which uses same partitioning scheme.

hey Adi, thanks for coming to our community-- much appreciated ! Developing kernels for the Note has been a challenge.
if you deem it proper release your work openly to our members,
you will know by the number of downloads, and feedback in the thread if your work has been appreciated/accepted/lauded...
i would come forth to test but im not an expert. just a request, be open to feedback - share your focus - safety, overclocking, root , battery or all
thanks again.

I am always open to feedback! Now a couple of testers are ready to test.
My aim is to make a completely stable kernel, good and smooth , safe for daily use and make this device fly.
I have completely disabled the MMC Brick bug, will send the Kernel for testing to my BETA Testers, once it is good enough for a Release I will post this in the Android Dev. section. I thought of posting this here because I didn't want to pollute Android Dev. section.
Thanks!
make a thread in orignal development section maybe you get much more attention there..

Need testers for ihackers MIUI V5

Hello guys. I seen the new MIUI custom rom, which is very beautiful & full of modification along with numerous tweaks. I wonder all MIUI fan would love it. But this rom is presently developed only for sony Xperia S/SL but the developer assured me to make this one for our galaxy S3 too. But he need testers. So if anyone interested to enjoy this MIUI rom then please come & be the tester for our galaxy s3. So that he can start the new build for galaxy s3. Thanx in advance. Come soon
If most of you are ready to test this build then Required the following points by Dev....
How many you are presently porting ROMs for S3?
Which versions do you port?
Which the base and the port ROM that you opted for?
What are the Major Bugs in each of your versions?
What are the Major Bugs in your Official Release?
What are the Features that can still be improved?
Which are the Features that are Missing and Should be there?
How long would it take you to give me a very detailed testing report If I send you an experimental build?
Anything Else you would like to suggest or mention?
Anything else I should be aware of before starting working on it?
I want detailed answers on all these questions not just from you but from other users of your device who want me to start making ROMs for them. I hope you got the point what I am really trying to know here, As I don't have the device the only thing I could rely upon would be my testers.
See Rom :- http://en.miui.com/thread-7303-1-1.html

Missing ROMs

Hi everybody, I am also a flashaholic like you guys! I just wanted to know which the roms our device does not have yet so it will be easier for devs to know which rom users want.
We dont have Omni yet. Others than Omni anyothers we still dont have or go unmaintained?
Liquid is almost dead also.
I will try to get a build on it. No assurances though!

Pure Marshmallow ROM ( Work In Progress)

Hey guys!!! Some of you might know me if you previously had a GS4 AT&T with lock bootloader. Anyways @npjohnson and I working on a ROM together call Pure Marshmallow(PM) its not ready yet for public release, but good enough as a daily driver. We just need your feedback please go ahead give PM a try and let us know how it goes, and don't forget to follow the development on G+ Community, you can report bugs and features request there. (NB) Please flash the Gapps provided and clean flash always required.
ScreenShots
Very interested in trying out your ROM. I'm assuming the build from the 28th is the latest? And the Benzo gapps posted are the ones recommended as well? Also, is SuperSU included? And finally, is the stock kernel permissive or enforcing?

you might want to name it something else, as there is already a "pure" rom for this phone in the dev section...

Will do soon, as we just started, we don't have a name yet, and still work in progress, once we ready for the public we'll definitely call it something else.
