Hello guys, as this is my first post, I'm not sure if i broke any rules, so feel free to correct me if I did.
I Would like to know if Its Possible to Install Samsung Galaxy S3 Roms in my Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo, as I Would like to install miui 7 on my GT-i9301 but on the official website it only shows the GT-i9300.
This may be a Noob Post, but it's a question i have, does the S3 Neo have compatibility issues with Normal S3?

If you're asking me, I'm not sure.
My main question was if S3 GT-I9300 roms worked on S3 Neo GT-I9301, and the person above said that they don't cause the 2 devices have different hardware, so thats a no to me, and I got my answer.
There are lots of differences, like the chipset, antennas, nfc, all of them which needs different drivers and different software.

Nope, because S3 is I9300
S3 Neo Dual sim ---> i9300I
So you need S3 Neo roms for I9300I
Well to CLEAR UP your mind
Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 is a exynos 4412 quad device and it has got different hardware
Meanwhile, Galaxy S3 Neo GT-I9301i/I9300i is built on a Snapdragon 400 msm8226 chipset

I know this version has 2GB of RAM and a dual-core Krait CPU, instead of the quad-core Exynos... So...
Do ROMs for the I9300 work on SC-06D?
Also... how about the kernels? Cause I know the kernels contain drivers for the chipset, which... is different on these two versions, so a kernel for the I9300 can't possibly work on the SC-06D :/ . Or... am I wrong?! :/

Never flash a rom that is not made for your phone model, you will brick.
The I9300 roms don't even work with the I9305 and the only difference is the I9305 has 2GB RAM and LTE connectivity.

Developer Question: How hard would it be if possible to port it and how hard would it be to make the rom compatible for both devices?

i guess its possible
compatibility might not be a big issue cause u r just going to port apps,media frameworks and lib files
But u can only port ofiicial 4.2.2 based roms of i9505 to i9500

I would say it's nearly impossible, as i9500 and i9505 had different processors, camera sensor, GPU etc. Talking about processors, the Exynos 5 Octa and Snapdragon 600 is a big difference. Those ROM files like lib.so and framework files had already built in for their hardware.
However, I remebered that someone wants to port HTC One ROM to Galaxy S3 International version (Exynos 4 Quad), it worked. But with lots of lots of bugs including lags. When he gaveup he finally stated that it's hard to port ROMs on different hardwares.

Dear Devs,
Today I searched some stock samsung apps like multiwindow, launcher on google
I found some Devs Ported Note 3 Rom in to the Micromax Canvas HD A116 Device and completely look like N3
My Question is When i was buying Grand Duos the price was Rs.21500, and Canvas HD Just 10500 the point is why Grand Duos is not getting the other flagship device rom ported like the micromax A116,
Grand Duos Got Some brilliant Brave Devs in this forum, its not very compel to port its my humble request to give some try.
pls dont take serious just sharing my thought if its not possible pls clarify the difference

See. There are many phones out there with mtk chipset, but phones with Broadcom chipset are less in number. Mtk chipset always have ported versions of the latest android version. We have source built versions which is good. We can't port roms from other devices because of less phones of Broadcom chipset. Also our devs are too busy to look into this project. So I think your request will be turned down.

I totally agree with u that we should have got a port but then the port for tw stock based custom rom always depends on the base and base for note 3 and S5 apps to work is android 4.4kk or either 4.3 and I have a strong feeling i9082 will be updated and if I'm not wrong this will be second firmware update for grand!!! [emoji16]

Bcm28155 (I guess chipset number is wrong) is present in jz 2 phones ... grand nd s2 plus.. both dead on 4.2.2

Hey mate not a shocker... those are just ported apps... they are not actual s4 rom but only canvas rom wid ported apps... functionality of these apps are less...

Buddy porting a rom is verry different from device to device. And to port you need to have a devices with basic similarity like same amount of RAM same processor and same sensors . What you are asking is to high because you cant compare the specs of S5 and Tab 2 they are totally different in terms of specs. so it is nearly impossible to port it without the help of Samsung . At most tab 3 might be of any luck

i modded a s5 theme for tab 2 7 but it has few bugs
no lag but bugs
i wish there would be some rom based on its theme
fully themed of S5 ui
other devices are all getting S5 theme based roms

Hey 4.4.2 sammy custom rom will be possible for s2 and note 1 without quad core processor......and ramdisk from note 3....

The Galaxy Mega 5.8 will get kitkat soon and it has the same CPU of the Grand.
I can not install the CWM recovery, when odin finish and shows "PASS!" the device boot in to android system stock recovery mode
any idea why?
