Chime in, what are your thoughts?

the GPU is adreno 530 not 520
the main shooter is rumored to be 16mp
and the battery about 2800 mAh
those are the last rumors

I've not heard, nor seen this. Can you share any links to support what you have heard? I do agree w/ the adreno 530 though, that I have seen too:good:

I'm looking forward to seeing it out BUT I'll never buy another LG phone that has a locked bootloader.

Thank you. Well while it is spec-ulation atm, it will be nice to see what the final design will offer.

The G5's dimensions will allegedly be 149.4 x 73.9 x 8.2 mm

If I can get a significantly extended battery for it, I'll consider it. If no big battery = no buy.

Not sure that will be possible. The battery has a different insertion method... or so it was speculated.

Rear camera will be a dual Camera, one cam will have 16mp and the other one 8mp and the gpu adreno 530, not 520. Wouldn't expect a bump that big from 3k to 4k mah on battery :/
I have a G3, if this phone turns out to be REALLYYYYY revolutionary, I might think on upgrading by the end of the year.

No
Because the bootloader on the G4 & V10 still hasn't been unlocked... Not sure if the hack Gods are interested in LGs phones anymore.

Some versions of the Intl V10 and the T-mo are BL unlocked. Same goes for the G4:good:

I'm upgrade from S6 Edge & LG G2... . Lg makes usefull smart phones. I like this one too ...

I'm currently running the G3. I really liked the v10, but the things I want improved on the v10 are USB-C, smaller profile, and the SD 820. I also would like to keep the 4GB of RAM, but let's see how that goes.
I hope the G5 keeps the same style and form as the previous G4,G3, and (to a major extent) G2. The buttons on the back and the high screen to body ratio are my two favorite things on the G3. I also really like the audio cord on the bottom.

Hey guys, just coming here to lay my claim to this sub forum! I'm 99% sure I'm picking up a G5, porting it for an official NetHunter release, and fixing up a fun kernel. I might even get involved with TWRP.
It's starting to look like it could be a real open development phone for me. (I'll be getting it in Canada though when it is available, so I'm certain I'll be in the bootloader safezone)
I'm really glad they went with a 5.6" screen. It'd be nice to see some reliable information on the battery and how easy it will be to replace. Leaving the world of 1 second battery swap to full is a scary thing for me.

Won't upgrade from V10

I am really considering buying the V10 right now, but after seeing this I must consider to wait for the G5.... Decisions, decisions
I am currently using xperia Z5 Premium.

Hope is the word:fingers-crossed:
Glad to see Devs populating this device:good:

I like how the spec in OP is for a 6 inch lens.
I'll probably be getting a G5 in Spring/Summer. Currently the G3 is working great and is slowly coming up for a replacement.

I may upgrade my old G2 now

I think I just found my new phone, upgrading from SGS2. The specs blow away any phone right now.
* Qualcomm 8064 CPU (Quadcore)
* 2GB RAM
* 16GB ROM
* Graphics processing comparable to the XBOX 360 (Adreno 320 graphics chip)
* 2000 mAh 3000 mAh battery upgrades
* 4.3 inches high PPI retina screen, 1280x720 resolution. The touch screen to do (the OGS / TOL), the single glass fit technology, Ultra Narrow design to protect the glass.

Not sure if it has expandable storage. But by currency conversion it works out: $315/£200!!
Should be released in October. Hope it works in UK

I wonder if this will have solid rom AOSP/ROM support... you might imagine so considering it's running MIUI out of the box.
Also, battery life.
Will it have an english MIUI available though?
Great specs, especially love the option for 3000mAh albeit with an extra 2mm thickness. But no mention of an SD card slot?? 16GB inside is fine but not enough for me on the whole.
I want one so bad! Hopefully we can manage to get them here in the US for under $400... It's beautiful.

Based on what I've read, don't expect to get your hands on it until the specs are no longer a wow factor.
Apparently this company has some very interesting marketing strategies, the price is apparently more so an initial head turner and far from permanent. Supply is also iffy.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Only missing feature is NFC, but hard to complain about at that price with those specs. Even if it comes in at $450 or so in the end that's around the Xperia P range so not out of sorts. We'll see if they release the goodies for the devs to tinker with.
Has this gone on sale in China? Maybe one of the Chinese users could clear our queries with regards to this phone. I'm chiefly concerned about the following things:
1. English support (should mostly have)
2. AOSP support (almost certainly might have)
3. Build quality and spares!!
Damn it I live in India and we are China's neighbours. Start selling you phones here guys!

Disagree, for that price it will be a wow factor at that time of release and a few months after release

amazing what they can produce here :cyclops:
don't expect aosp support as they will probably never release the kernel source. the first one was okay... many of my friends have them but.although they get updates every week they still seem to be only about 75 stable.. the new one has me interested from a cheap hardware angle but I like beingable to choose my own Rom
@joshofbass
what do you mean by "they still seem to be only about 75 stable"?
reboots? freeze? I need a dual sim so that i don't have to lug around 3 phones
NFC??
Does anyone know if the MI-2 supports NFC technology?
I have seen many websites which write the specs and other useful information, but none is mentioning whether or not it has a nfc chip.
NFC is not listed in the specs on the official homepage. Neither is microsd support, btw ...
the best phone!

[Q] Where do we go next from the OPO?

I can't seem to desire any other phone. I love the display, I love the size. Speed is good. Battery is very good (running stock CM). Not to mention the price.
Also - I love the hardware buttons (I think software buttons - like in the nexus 6p for example - are a waste of screen real estate).
Anyone upgraded and was happy doing so?
I'm in the same boat as you, my phone is almost 2 years old now but i feel no need to upgrade. Unless you live in a area with faster than 150mbs lte, want a finger print scanner, or a crystal clear screen, i would just keep it until the op4.
Had the One for just over a year now and don't feel the need for an upgrade. When I do end up upgrading this phone, it will not be another OnePlus device. The 2 and X have shown little improvements as successors to the One. There will be better options when the time comes
The OPO really opened me up to the modding capabilities of android. As so many people had grabbed the phone and experimented, there was lots of support. CyanogenMod was a key factor in my decision to get it, and I agree with @kenboyles72 : The 2 and X haven't improved enough for me to want to upgrade.
Also, there's nothing wrong with the OPO, even two years old. It still outperforms most of my mates devices
will be a better unit. BUT not that too soon.
opo will be still outstanding unit at least few more years.
Used to handle HTC models prior to opo
really appreciated opo unit.
appropriate in many ways.
I'm going to wait for the OnePlus 3 to see what it has in store, and if the price is high or it doesn't impress me with it's design and such, I'm going with the Xiaomi Mi5. I mean 4GB of RAM, Snapdragon 820, Fingerprint Scanner, Marshmallow, Good Camera, Awesome design and 64GB of storage for ~700AUD, I'm sold.

Is it bootloader unlocked? Or do you plan on staying on stock for several months hoping for some AOSP support only to switch again? Most of the time it's better to wait and see how popular a device is before buying as the more popular a device is the more likely it is to get a good development scene

Boot loader is locked and honestly I don't care. I don't care what Android skin I use, everyone makes a big fuss about oh I can use this and ew Touchwiz and what not and honestly I don't care. I use Google Messenger for texting, Snapchat, Reddit and Facebook Messenger. I'd be lucky to make an hour of phone calls a week. I install Google Now Launcher on the device and an icon pack, the main interaction I have with MIUI is the status bar and recents apps menu. Like looking at this, you wouldn't even know it was MIUI underneath.

OP3 or whatever ~5" Nexus device(s) come out this year.
Went to a Nexus 5x already, but keep leaning back to the OPO that's still lying around.
After The opo will be useless at 2018 i will looking into new battery techs
i was thinking to Nexus 6p, but I've see now the 820's snapdragon devices.... So I think I will wait for sure the next Nexus, if it will be nice i will buy that... And obviously, have a look to opo4
I'm waiting on the note 6... after it gets a custom recovery.
One plus 3 ( if specifications equal or above opo ).
Maybe mi5 when price drops or Next Nexus, opo is still uncomparable as price/quality ratio
Using this thing until it is too slow to use day to day...did this with my HTC g2 and m7. When they start to lag behind too much and battery dies too often, it was upgrade time. I always make sure lots of memory is free for performance.
Sent from the one and only Oneplus One
thus is cool but i am worried if there is hope of android o for us with this one or any good custom roms or any new holy **** kernels as i donot see dev with opo2 then what with opo3 opo 4 will dim
S7 Edge on Tmobile's buy one get one free deal.
I was just browsing the subforum and happened to come across this. I personally own the X which is essentially a more compact One with an AMOLED screen and expandable storage.
I would say keep the One. It's a great phone and if you compare performance of the X to the one, I'd say that there isn't a reason for you to upgrade to anything at all. If you must, go for the X. It's really a side grade if anything as both devices level one another out on terms of HW, but in all honesty, keep what you have. You guys have the best ROMs, the best revision of the 801, and the best kernels after all. Enjoy what you have.
I've had inconsistent performance with the GPS on my OPO. I'm really tempted to get a 5X now that it's $200 (plus that first month of service, right?). Didn't know how important the GPS would be to me.

[OP3T]What we know so far?[rumour mill]

Name confirmed I guess
https://oneplus.net/hr/3t
Not 404 anymore
- Snapdragon 821 - confirmed by OnePlus and Qualcomm
- 6GB RAM - I guess confirmed
- Full HD 5'5 Optic Amoled - to be confirmed (maybe OP bought Galaxy Note 7 display spare parts so we get 5'7 2k display )
- Sony IMX 398, 16mpx f/1.7 aperture - to be confirmed
- 3300 mAh battery - to be confirmed
- 64/128GB UFS 2.0 storage - to be confirmed
- new darker color - to be confirmed
- some waterproofing - highly unlikely
- Android 7.0 at launch - I guess confirmed - as seen on GitHub it seems it is 6.0.1
Anything else?
Good times. As I said in another thread, I prefer this autumn/winter releases when new version of Android is out so I hope they stick to this schedule in 2017.;2018.;...

Also developing a tablet without looking for rumor at least 6 months in advance would be one of the biggest marketing mistakes you can do.

Let's hope OP are smart enough to include more APAC friendly BANDS of 4G LTE FDD. Their biggest problem was that and the poor quality screen. Update those, throw in the confirmed 'upgrades' and they'll have a great phone...
With Qualcomm beating them to the punch, I have no idea why they didn't push the announcement ahead of schedule and let the 'hype' build for longer..??

If it's really a refreshed 1+3 I'm kinda mad, because I bought mine two months ago. I'm happy with it, except no sd card slot.
Tablet would be cool, because nobody would expect that. But I doubt it.

It is. But I don't like the 5.5" screen size and the G5 looks to be a decent smaller-size phone.
Just bought one today - already available at a local brazilian retailer. So far I'm liking it. Built quality remembers me my Moto G 2013, solid built. BUT I miss the front facing speakers of my Alcatel Idol 3. Front facing speakers are very underrated. Anyway If you guys have any questions I'll be happy to answer them.

Just bought one today - already available at a local brazilian retailer. So far I'm liking it. Built quality remembers me my Moto G 2013, solid built. Nice upgrade
12 hours of moderate use now. Battery seems just right. Good thing is the phone did not overheat once during all day of use.

Well, how much more is the G5+ than the G5? It's got more things different than just the SoC.

Guys, I've just left the store and had the g5 and g5 plus in my hands, a brief description (maybe nothing new)
G5: Extremely light, really realy light, it is fast, the cover is removable and only the center part is made of metal. The camera looks good. The phone has a good size, and the interface is the same as always. The chip and SD card are under the hood. Price: R$999 (in Brazil)
G5 Plus: Heavier obviously, have NFC and fast payment option or name that I don't know. I thought very fluid. Particularly, the design on hands is beautiful. The Launcher is equal to the pixel, but dark. Price: R$1499 (in Brazil)
I must have forgeten some detail, anyway ask me.
