Ok, I have been an official owner of this masterpiece since January 6, 2010.. Lol, Stayed up partying that Sunday night.. Never went to sleep.. Sobered right up when I saw the Press release.. Bought it 5 Minutes after the site finally came up after refreshing every 15 seconds.. Whew..
Now, here I stand.. Ready to embark back home to VZW and I have about 5 months left of my account being put on hold.. So no rush.. But.. i see the HTC Desire is coming.. I know I already run A10 from Modaco but I kinda Like the Hardware not for nothing.. So, can Nexus Roms be back-ported to this device since we initially ported it over to us.. In so, is it coming to VZW along with att/t-mobile, Any word.. I know the Legend is going to Sprint, Which i am getting for my Father in law, I last got him a Tour..
I am also seeing that the Nexus comes out for Verizon March 23rd, a pretty solid Google Employee spilled the beans.. So another option could be to Continue to Sell this Nexus and transfer to that.. Then load Modacos Sense Ui CDMA Rom (When Available)... So I guess I ask if Devs, PPL, Gurus, can help here.. I gather and prob 90% assure myself i'm not the Only one in for this... So I guess Keep the thread alive.. Maybe it'll stay here with ideas, workarounds, additions, dev requests with links and etc.. Hopefully until and while these FUTURE devices arrive..

Hey i'm Chriss-not an owner of Find 5 but wish i was....
I love Find 5....even it's website lists that it supports XDA,which is like a "Loyal King".
I want to buy it and i 'm trying,i checked out the xda tread and i saw official CM10.1 which really cool but there's nothing else except
AOSP.I mean if you guys can make a some-what stable CM10.1....you guys could easily make more roms like Paranoid,PAC,MIUI would be awesome on 1080p display,and many other roms....more you make better,try out-of-box like firefox os...These things make news and make the device more popular,which brings in more support,donors etc...:good:
So dev who are try hard to fix cm bugs and are stuck build some other roms also ....don't mind the bugs that arise which can be fixed later

The cm10.1 rom was only released yesterday.:good:
With working and stable CM10.1 and AOSP Roms it's easier to port other Roms that are based on either of them.
I'd much rather have those two up and running in a near perfect state before we get a bunch of people that bricked their phones because they jumped on an alpha of Paranoid Android and they have no clue how to restore them.

Yeah. CM kangs almost never appear until CM is mostly complete for a device, and we didn't release until yesterday.
This device has only had kernel source available for sometime around a month, and isn't exactly widely available. Good development takes time.
FYI, CM went from "developers received the device" to "95% working" in less than two weeks, with the first week of that being research and laying the groundwork for a port. Most of the actual coding was done over the past weekend. Of course, this was only possible due to devices that came before us, like the Xperia Z.
It's amazing how much easier Qualcomms are to work with than Exynos.

Okay, you have two approaches to encourage development chrissmartin.
1) Knock yourself out and build a ROM of your own
2) Donate money to an existing developer who's working on a ROM / kernel... whatever you think is of value to you.
I don't know if you've done either, but short of those two options, please don't be 'that guy'. It's a new device in many respects, as Entropy pointed out. You want a ton of ROM's ASAP...go hop on the Sammy bandwagon.

Not gonna get that on Exynos BTW.... All of the Exynos4 CM maintainers are barely touching their devices, and so far, not a single person with maintainer experience has expressed interest in the Exynos5-based GS4. (As to Qualcomm-based GS4s - Some CM people are getting them, but myself and the other ex-Teamhacksung guys are going elsewhere.)
Edit: Obviously, other people can pick up the ball and take a crack at the Exynos5 GS4, but so far, I have not encountered anyone with an interest. All of the people with AOSP-on-Exynos experience I've talked to are done with the platform, and expect Exynos5 "Octa" to be even worse than the Exynos4 was. There's always the possibility we'll get a pleasant surprise from Samsung, but I have very little hope given that they completely failed to deliver on their promises made at the Big Android BBQ.

They're kangers of the worst sort.
I'm sure the ROMs are coming, wait til CM 10.1 is mostly stable, I'm impressed how quickly development is proceeding already.
^^ same. CM came quick! This phone is just barely starting to grab peoples attention. Its a slow start because its not an HTC or a Samsung, or a Sony... or an LG lol. This is their first international phone ever and it's the first time anyone has even heard of OPPO in the mobile world.

Hello guys! Recently like some people know I bought a Galaxy Note. Yesterday try to flash a ROM my device gave a superproblem and it turned off. Now I cannot turn on it and even JTAG didn´t recognize my device. My last hopes is my carrier guarantee live me to Samsung change my motherboard. So I am sorry but I will have to leave for a time u8800pro until I get enough money for can buy a new motherboard or pay Samsung for new one because idk if they will make me to pay, so I am trying anyway how to get money, I am only 19 years old and have no job ((
Hope to get soon my Galaxy Note and come back working for u8800pro, if I don´t get it will finally leave u8800pro developing. Just say THANKS to all people I met here on that u8800pro forum, since Team Taurus member until every user who downloaded my ROMs, gave me feedback and gave me Motivation to try things for u8800pro.

Samsung will deliever within 2weeks just dont tell them that u flashed something. Tell them you did OTA software upgrade and "green android" appeared and phone did not switch on again. Just a way to fool them. Well congrats bro on getting note finally

And how exactly having your samsung phone broken gets in the way with developing for u8800pro? I mean if your u8800pro was broken, I could understand that.
Anyway, at the service center, just tell them that you switched the phone off for the night and next morning it would never turn back on. Try to play the n00b there like not even knowing what android version you had etc, if they ask you.

I am just thinking to say them I was making OTA on stock ICS Version and after it restart it didn't turn on again, Is a good thing to say or better say what Rittik says? I am just worried because idk about that green screen. I am gonna send by Vodafone carrier and I have the 2 years guarantee by Vodafone and the 2 years guarantee from Samsung, one friend had the same and they change the motherboard.
@Moihack I spent so much money for can get the Note and have it bricked really killed me inside, now I am stock, and really I am gonna be maybe weeks without phone and phone is all I had, for Tapatalk and speak with everybody, and also my PC is beeing fixed. My brother has my u8800pro now and he is on CM 10..2 and all is working good to him, so I just think like on other devices that all them has some troubles, so now I am not gonna be as active as I was before beeing 18 hours connected. So just maybe will try to fix(if I try) the videorecording on CM 10.1.2 updating it to 10.1.3 and after that maybe will stop for a little. I was all summer trying things for people and in 2 weeks I start school, I would love to spent some time for myself ANYWAY WILL TELL YOU I HAVE NEWS!
I have noticed there isn't a lot of development for our phone. Is the reason for this there is not a lot of devs interested in this phone, or are they all just waiting for MM to come out?
Don't get me wrong, I am thankful for the devs we do have, I guess I am just used to a larger selection of roms/kernels/apps.
I can't really say there is a lack of development per se. But then again I am coming from a g920a and the xda forums for that device are like a bad joke. But seriously we have Marshmallow already thanks to hackers; also a CM development thread and a debloated stock rom. We have a few kernels and I think development will hopefully heat up even further when stock marshmallow becomes official and also official CM support comes around, seeing as the majority of custom roms have at least some part of CM in them these days. I for one really hope a version of AOSPA gets released for this device eventually but then that will probably take a while as they haven't even started to work on MM yet it looks like. But really this phone is already amazing. I am running Marshmallow and doze along with amplify has dramatically improved the only problem I was having; the battery. I left my phone over night for a bit over 10 hours last night and it only lost 1%! And that was with WIFI bluetooth and location still running. I freaking love this phone, and I am confident that the development activity is still young and just getting started.
I'd imagine it'll pick up a decent amount more once we get MM. I doubt you'd see anything new before then...not really much of a point to spend a lot of time on anything just to start over in a week or two.

I agree with your concern, however, I know once mm comes it will pick up. The 6p being released didn't help things I'm sure. This is a great bootloader unlockable phone and I am along for the ride whatever it entails. That 6p isn't enough to make me jump yet. Still I keep checking stock in case I change my mind. Lol
I agree about this phone being amazing. I guess I am used to seeing my roms and kernels since I am coming from a nexus 6. I have no doubt there will be more development once MM drops.
Coming from one plus one, development is super slow with MXP. Pretty much all phones I've owned had decent development. All the Samsung devices has more development than MXP. I'm optimistic something great will come out in the future. Just surprised we don't have more developer's on this device.

I agree, I thought there would be a little more dev, but I am happy with the phone and with the devs we do have. They all do great work.
Well. I already have working versions of CM-based ROMs such as LiquidSmooth. But, MM is what I am waiting for to release them. Plus, the AOSP source tree does not support building for MSM8992 platforms by default i.e. without additional patching for LP. But with MM that is fixed. Once, the blobs for MM are out (for XT1575), development should pick up pace with respect to AOSP-based ROMs as well.
:crying::crying: I'm beginning to regret ever selling my GX8 for the mate 7. At least I'm rest assured that the GX8 will have CM 14. 1 very soon whiles the amazing mate 7 seem to have no future when it comes to custom roms and even official Android 7 update. What will Huawei lose if they just roll Android 7 or emui 5 for the mate 7 because there isn't that much of a difference between this device and the mate 8.
Huawei is a disappointment and a failure when it comes to updating slightly old devices....
The mate 7 is going to be my last device I will ever purchase from Huawei and they should consider me a dissatisfied lost customer as well as a potential product advertiser.
Year in year out, mobile phone manufacturers release flagship devices with amazing specs yet fews years down the line, it is considered old and no updates are pushed for it.
It's time consumers demanded more than just updates from these manufacturers.

Dude! I know how you feel. While Huawei is great at hardware, they are **** at software! The problem with the mate 8 and 7 is that they weren't officially released in North America. This made these phones obscure and thus very little interest in building custom ROMs.
The mate 9 will be officially released in a few weeks and will attract devs to build custom ROMs. It sucks but at the same time it's great because future Huawei phones will get better support. For now, I suggest you either upgrade phone, or learn how to build AOSP Android.
Where is the problem with the software right now? Which features of Android 7 / EMUI 6 do you want? I understand that getting updates is always great, but with updates from KitKat to Lollipop to Marshmallow I can't really complain, this device is now more than 2 years old. It was fine when you bought it so why are you unhappy now? I cleaned up my whole device, reformatted external sdcard and flashed Ale's KangVIP rom. My Mate runs so smooth now.

The problem is that ROM itself. Emui is not a pleasant ROM to use when compared to more AOSP ROMs. Even the new emui 5 is still kinda ****! Most major reviewers state that the downfall of Huawei devices are it's software. For those that tolerate/like it, great! But not all of us do. Sadly interest in these devices is not great so dev support is very low.

Yeah, I agree with you but I wish I could build a custom rom for the mate 7 but I'm not a programmer and I have no idea how to even start.

Since my Nexus 5 died a few weeks ago I have had to go back to using the mate 7. Going from CM13 back to emui has been horrible but I have no choice. To make matters worse the only development for the mate 7 has stopped. For those of us that want a stock ROM we need to pool together and pay a dev to build a ROM.
I mentioned before that the only way we will get a ROM is by putting out a bounty or donating a phone to a good dev. I'm willing to put in money or maybe even starting a GoFundMe....... I'm sure there are many mate7 users that are willing to do this. It might even start a conversation on how horrible Huawei is with regard to source sharing and development.

Its been a nightmare for me as well coming back from CM 13 to stock on mate 7.
