Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) was compiled on Jan 19th and ready for OTA preparation - Xperia Z5 Premium General

http://www.justaboutphones.com/sony-xperia-z5-z5-compact-z5-premium-z3-marshmallow-6-0-update/
If we follow the time it took for 5.0 to go from "Uploading" to actually available in Xperifirm, it took about a week. At least we know it's
Edit: Changed the title. The kernel build date will probably say 19th. Seems like Sony's apps aren't Marshmallow-ready.

This is the best news so far in 2016

I read that was fake. But I did see another article that speculated on february. The only MM will potentially bring us is better battery life. Context search is pretty useless.

You have it the other way around. The other site was just blogspam for clicks. There was no source at all.
justaboutphones.com is a trusted source because they also leaked the 5.0 update for Z3 which appeared a week later: http://www.justaboutphones.com/sony-xperia-z3-z2-z3-compact-android-lollipop-update/

Sony's firmware servers are DOWN right now. This usually happens around update time. They might come back up with new update files. Or they might not.
Edit: False alarm. Servers are back, with some updates, but none Marshmallow related.

Sure, it's been heavily discussed on the Xperia forum, random disconnections, problems connecting to certain BT devices.

It's not a matter of what's new,I think a number of people are waiting to see final software performance and battery before they make their decision on the 13th.

Yeah im curious to know too, supposedly with this update now you'lll have widgets in the lockscreen and maybe the battery problems will be solved :victory:

This most likely IS the final retail software.
do you really think that google will push out another OTA update in 2 days after this?
lol
If the software isn't perfect even on release day, Google will still issue updates accordingly. Its not like Google will sell you a phone, and then not fix any issues. So even if battery life is not perfect on day one, that could easily be fixed with an update. I am buying on day one no matter what, as I desperately need a new phone.

What's wrong with Google? I hope they get their sh*t together and release a final ota that fixes all the current bugs. I would think that they would update the software before the release to do any last minute debugging.

Seems like the devs over at google might be having a hard time getting a 3.4 kernel optimized for android devices... As far as I know, it's the first phone to use the 3.4.x kernel branch. Most other ICS or JB android devices use the 3.0.x branch.

Did you try this? Does it work in the US model?
I was running the previous Taiwan firmware on my CANADIAN P600 because it was the latest one at the time. I just got this one as an OTA on my tablet. It fixes the long press jitter bug that is prevalent on everyones model. Might be other things too but I haven't messed around with everything yet.
Edit: Spoke too soon. It improves that jitter bug, but I can still see it happening to an extent It's like they didn't fully fix it or something, but long pressing an app for example will pick up the icon and the icon may jitter a bit, but it's not as bad as it was before. Not sure how this compares to that Korean firmware posted in the other thread (if that's a full fix)

Does this bring multi-user to Canada? I've never gotten Ota updates since I got my tab 3 months ago.... Still on mj4, .. Just wondering what is gained or lost with this update, since it's the first mention I've seen of a update to p600 in Canada. Since you flashed a different firmware anyway, I guess you might not remember the differences of this new firmware compared with the original one, but in case you do, I'd like to know.

All other roms had lag for me, this rom is really smooth and all I've done is remove the bloat I usually remove but even before I did that I noticed how snappy it was. I dirty flashed from clean rom and have had no issues, I'm just glad the jerkiness and stuttering is gone. I still had some stutter when scrolling in Google Chrome, but installing and using Chrome beta fixed this.
Another big improvement is waking from sleep. It just works now without the usual 2 to 3 second delay I used to have.
Been using this rom since last night and it's the best rom yet. Its as smooth as my snapdragon note 3. Transitions and animations no longer pause or hitch and this is even with power saving on. The developer community should really make a rom using this base because if at stock with the stock kernel it's so snappy and with great battery life, with a lil' dev tweaks it should be even better.
Ps, I downloaded from sammobile as the other links were ridiculously slow.

It is more vulnerable to stagefright than ever and mobile radio active battery drain is still there.

The "big deal" with the stagefright bug is the fact that you only need to view an infected video in your MMS/Browser/Mail to probably become hacked.
Just read this: https://blog.lookout.com/blog/2015/07/28/stagefright/
Based on Lookout’s own Stagefright research over the last 24 hours it also appears that multimedia viewed in a browser (e.g. a web video) could be used to deliver a Stagefright attack.

I mean I get it, it can do harm, but what exactly? It was discovered by a security company which created an app to determine the vulnerability to the bug and released an anti-virus software. And when considered that like 99% of the possibility to get 'hacked' can be disabled by the user, it sounds more like a promotion for their products rather than a real threat.

Every video you watch on your Handset could contain a virus, it doesn't matter if it comes over MMS or WWW or Email.
So disabling the MMS autodownload is not a real solution.

370,
Nothing much, just like each update, performance gets better, then it starts to degrade after a while.
Didn't notice any thing special, thats why I was looking for a change log..

You can get the change log on another thread. I don't remember the name but it's here.
Is it the official thing tho? Since there are still no OTAs.
Secondly, what about WhatsApp notification issue.?
