you can revert by reflashing,
it does not require you to have root.

You mentioned that custom recovery is not required. so if you have cm12.1, how will you not have custom Recovery? I think you should remove that line.

If I'm not wrong, MA CM12.1 is flashable through CM recovery. But the same it is a custom one lol

Don't think you can flash this kind of patch without a custom recovery. I think that yes, is important to mention it...

No custom recovery = No custom ROM = This patch becomes useless

@Firefly1337, @sgroimax, @saurabh40629,
Thank you for the update.
If you live-boot a custom recovery, you can install CM12.1.
What would it take to make the custom ROM flashable by the original recovery?

I have OnePlus X stock ROM, and people are complaining of echo, does this fix works with original OxygenOS or with CM12.1 only?

I don't know. The easy way is to flash it ONCE and reboot to test.
You can always go back as the original file is saved as "/system/etc/audio_platform_info.xml.bak".
Keep me in touch if it works.

Sorry, but original OxygenOS does not have /system/etc/audio_platform_info.xml file

OK, thank you for letting me know.

Works like a charm
Thanks, tested it on CM12.1. But i still have an issu, my microphone doesnt pick up any sound if I put it on speaker mode. If i find a fix for that, is it possible that it will use the same file, and mess up this nice fix?
Thanks for the replies in advance

It depends how the fix is applied. You can always apply my fix on top.
For the mic problem, are you using cm12.1 13.0s with a clean flash? If yes create a bug report on the cm12.1 thread. I'll add it to the list of known bugs.

This is my phones spec:

MA version 10.0s STABLE
Android version 5.1.1
Android security patch level 1 January 2016

(Also i am not a pro, much more an amature in this topic)
What doed it take to create such a report? Basicly outlining the problem, when does it occur and my phone spec. ?
Also, i had this issu before i applied the fix!

Bug report submitted
Done.
How will I actually get information if there will be a fix or anything?

Follow the steps described at the address below:

If a remember correctly, 10.0s had a microphone problem when on speaker mode.

Thank you, but I will change to CM13 first and see if the problem still presist.

Officially I don't think so.
By the way I guess Cyanogen will support CM12 for our Mi2S, so we shoud have ROMs L based.
I hope the same, the only official is miui (currently v5 - but plan v6 - problem is on 4.1.2)
I hope CM12 or another CM/AOSP roms should be available for Mi2S
i think that L for mi2s is sure. In fact nexus 4,which has the same HW of mi2s, will be updated officially by google.
In my opinion the big challenge is to achieve 3.10 from our 3.4 kernel
only when m11kkaa will work on it **** miui they suck :silly:
http://m.weibo.cn/u/1697247850
If we knew Chinese, we will know that Autumn Ivan prepares a Lollipop AOSP for MI2s
@akiba is already working on it! So it seems we will have Lollipop based system in our Mi2S:
I wanted to share clickable link for it but not allowed, anyway copy it to address bar with prefix www as usual:
gizchina.com/2014/11/06/breaking-xiaomi-mi2-spotted-running-android-5-0-lollipop/
...but I hope M1cha already working also on Lollipop based CM12 for Mi2S.
CM12 work in progress: https://plus.google.com/app/basic/p...ovi&sview=25&cid=5&soc-app=115&soc-platform=1
Lollipop is here
http://en.miui.com/thread-61384-1-1.html
Android 5 is Up! Thanks to IVAN
...Hours after using it.
I cannot achieve rooting this device, with any Superuser or SuperSU flashable ZIP, neither with xbin/su from ALL CHINISE 6.0.5.1 Ivan Unofficial CWM (OMG). It doesn't officialy support TDB (I don't care, i just mention that), it has not GAPPS but ok, there is a package for Lollipop ready on the Web, and it fits to Mi2s ROM space, without Micha's repartitioning (i think the 4.4.x GAPPS was junk in terms of size as i check that Lollipop needs half the size of 4.4.x). Advanced Reboots don't worked, CM buttons for App kill, neither. But it's a very early stage (alpha i think) and it doesn't have bugs, it works, it boots, you can test it, but not for every day ROM, avoid it, wait for CM12, or sth better from OmniROM
PS. BACKUP everything, and of course, have ready to flash back the Micha's CWM 6.0.5.0. because with the Chinese Recovery i am facing psychological issues.
PS2. After these hours of testing, i am back to CM11 Latest Snapshot!
PS3. You should turn off TDB before flashing Lollipop.
PS4. Again, wait for a release!
"if you have flashed CWM 6.0.5.0, you can flash latest CM11, go to settings "about phone" and set checkbox "update recovery" and reboot. CWM will be 6.0.5.1 english"
M1cha,
can you confirm it? Thanks?

there is a link to CWM 6.0.5.1 http://en.miui.com/thread-61143-1-1.html
but who has 6.0.5.0 no necessary to change it just be aware to install and setup system1 only
It looks better then I expected, cant wait to use this with Xposed Framework!
Would love it to look more like KitKat though, it just looks more professional.
Why no screencast?
Well, because I thought this was faster and easier... plus you get to see the M2(S) and the M2S has a great screen which still looks great on video.. I was just amazed by the speed of 5.0
Why didn't you screen cast, i know it works?
btw, thanx for the video

And otherwise I'll just go with CM12 ^^
Btw... Impressive Antutu score on the M2S:

I have tried the solution what I asked here and working perfectly! So easy to change from CWM6.0.5.0 to CWM6.0.5.1 and keep English CWM menu language. I f you just simple flash CWM 6.0.5.1 than it will be Chinese...
Only problem is, I have tried to clean install CM11 NIGHTLY on system2 and it has stacked at boot logo, but I have successfully installed sMIUI onto system 1. What is the reason? (CWM recovery version is 6.0.5.1 )
Thanks for your reply in advance!

List of whats working and whats not please.
can you please list what are the bugs that are currently present ? that will make things easier to report Thanks for this
This is alpha build, and developer doesn't having mi3 with him. Please go and try by yourself. First of all, booting is a concern. If phone will boot. Please give a feedback.
And yes, no known bugs till now, because nobody knows. So, give it a try and provide logcats, it will give easiness to developer to understand bugs and root of bugs.
For anyone that's tried this on a Mi 4, how'd it go? Seeing as some people have luck flashing Mi 3 ROMs over their Mi 4s. Thanks!

I am currently downloading the ROM and will then give it a try... But my internet speed sucks..
Meanwhile, I would suggest you guys to give it a try. Take the nandroid backup and flash the ROM... If it doesn't boot, you can restore the backup. More the number of users try, more are the chances of getting the issue fixed. ?

Marshmallow:
Refer HERE
If you are already running twrp in marshmallow then simply flash any recovery updates using the image install function within twrp.
If you are already updated to the official marshmallow update from T-Mobile then you must wait for a root fix and this cannot be flashed from fastboot commands!!
Lollipop:
Your bootloader must be unlocked prior to attempting installation.
Option 1: Flash using fastboot.
Option 2: Flash in previous installed version of TWRP.

Changelog:
3.0.2-0 Marshmallow
05/01/16:
(REVISION) exfat enabled for testing
Device tree has been rebuilt and USB is operational for mtp, adb, and usb-otg.
INITIAL:
Recovery updated to v3.0.2-0
Kernel updated to Marshmallow
Fake epoch disabled in kernel
3.0.1-0 Lollipop
Fake epoch set for my device in the kernel (you will most likely experience incorrect date/time)
DST is now functional
Known issues:
The status bar is displayed in the 2nd screen area. (I have no plans on pursuing screen adjustment)
Time is not saved from Android to Recovery. Fake epoch time has been disabled in the kernel resulting in a year of '1971'. (The only way I've found of fixing this is with a custom fake epoch for each device based on build date. That simply is not going to happen...)

I'm noticing today .. possibly after the latest nightly that my home button isn't 'working' ... Finger print is fine. But it's not working as a home button. If I hit it to go home, I get vibration feedback, but does nothing. I'll try to get a log of this and post but it's just so strange. May have something messed up in the configuration settings too.. I'll dig around and update if I find a user-error. (Did I post this in the wrong place?)

Hi,
You are on RR MM you don't need to flash modem, personaly i use hybrid TWRP linked on post below becouse sometimes i go to OOS 3.0.2 or H2OS 1.4 and return to AICP, like this i know that i have no problems with TWRP and i can flash any MM ROM.

No support for Xposed on AICP.
Is there a way to disable Halo? I was not able to find it in AICP Extras.
Thanks

if you want to install via fastboot, you take recovery img in zip, then you install again .Zip, because there is a package needed inside .Zip
Working very well. Thank you much!! Best recovery for sure!

Hi @dohasaizo
Thanks for posting this. The name on the file from the Google drive link is '20191109-1454-OFFICIAL', but this version is not available on the pitchblack official sourceforge download page -
https://sourceforge.net/projects/pitchblack-twrp/files/platina/
Could I ask you where this version is from?

Ok, great. Thanks for your time building it, I'll give it a go. Make you could tag the build with name to separate it from the pitchblack's builds and get credit for yourself?

I look forward to trying it.
I was only thinking with the name, as you add OFFICIAL on the build filename it looks like a build by pitchblack group.
just installed 1109 build, first recovery with decrypt and touchscreen working on my mi8 lite thanks @dohasaizo

I think when you build it, it just automatically names the output file to OFFICIAL. I could be wrong, but I have had this happen myself, but not with PBR, which I have never attempted to build. There is suppose to be a new official build coming, but I would not hold my breath. Keep up the good work @dohasaizo.

You are right, because of the configuration in the device tree I added PB_OFFICIAL: = true ??
