To enter recovery when experiencing such problems, you can hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn off / reboot device. After reboot, press and hold the volume up and down button at the same time until you see TWRP screen (2-5 seconds).
Then in TWRP screen, you can wipe system, cache, etc and perform another clean flash.
I experienced such behavior while using build 4/16 before. I recommend installing gapps micro package for such build to avoid reboots. Also, you can try and follow the following steps while installing CM13 build 4/16:
1. Wipe cache, Dalvik cache, data system.
2. Install mm tools
3. Install CM build 4/16
4. Reboot to system. Wait until stabilized (2-5 mins after you see the homescreen)
5. Reboot to TWRP
6. Make full Nandroid backup (just in case) - optional
7. Install gapps micro (if this won't work, try installing gapps Pico or the full gapps suite.
8. Reboot system

To flash TWRP Recovery:
1. Turn off phone
2. Bring the phone to Download Mode (power button + vol up + home)
3. Connect phone to computer and open up Odin
4. Click on AP or PDA and select your .tar file (this is the twrp recovery file)
5. Click Start and once done your phone will reboot into TWRP
If your phone does not boot into TWRP automatically:
a) repeat steps 1-4
b) click on options tab (in Odin) and uncheck everything except "F. Reset Time"
c) click Start
d) once done, disconnect your phone and take out your battery
e) bring the phone to Download Mode (power button + vol up + home)
f) your phone should then boot into TWRP

Download TWRP for your phone (at least 3.0.0.0 version). Flash it via Odin.
Instruction:
Needed - Samsung Odin
TWRP (TAR(maybe MD5)file)
Root manager zip file (I recommend Magisk Manager)
Now steps:
1. Turn on USB Debugging and OEM Unlock in your phone.
2. Turn off your device
3. Push Vol- , Home and Power buttons at once
4. When you'll see warning, click Vol+
5. Open Odin
6. Make sure you have F. Reset Time enabled (Options fold)
7. Go back to Log fold
8. Click PDA (maybe AP) button
9. Select your TWRP file
10. When it's loaded, connect your phone
11. You should see Added! in log
12. Click 'Start' button
13. Reboot phone into the recovery mode.
If it failed, remove the battery from the phone for 5 minutes and try again. If it's still failing, just don't stop trying.
If I did help, leave ?.

1. Go Into TWRP Recovery Mode By Holding Volume Up, Home & Power and Flash Lineage 14.1 June Version through TWRP after an ADVANCED Wipe of Dalvik Cache, Cache, System, and Data
2. Unlock Developer Tools by Clicking Build
4. Activate USB Debugging
5. Download G530TUVU2AQD1_G530TTMB2AQD1_G530TUVU2AQD1_HOME.tar.md5 or any .md5 file of G530TUVU2AQD1
6. Download CF-Auto-Root-gprimeltetmo-gprimeltetmo-smg530t
7. Install Odin 3.10.6 that comes in the CF Auto Root Zip
8. Open Odin 3.10.6 Run As Administrator
9. Put Phone In Download Mode by Powering Off and Holding Volume Down, Power Button and Home button
10. Enter Download Mode by Pressing Up to Continue
11. Click AP in Odin 3.10.6 and Open The G530TUVU2AQD1 .md5 file
12. Click Start in Odin
13. WAIT FOR ODIN TO UPLOAD THE FILE, IT IS NOT FROZEN, IT IS CHECKING THE MD5
14. After it says Leave CS, Click Start Again
15. WAIT FOR ODIN TO FINISH, IT IS NOT FROZEN, CHECK THE GREEN STATUS BAR AT THE TOP LEFT
16. Let Odin Finish and Let Your Phone Reboot As Many Times As it Needs
17. Go back Into Recovery Mode By Holding Volume Up, Home, Power and Clear the Cache and Factory Reset
18. Reboot
After you finish setup, your device should trigger a software update at some point that will update your 5.1.1 to the newest build which is AQE3 released in June 2017. I chose to root after getting this update.
19. To Root, Go back into download mode and Click AP in Odin and click on the CF-Auto-Root-gprimeltetmo-gprimeltetmo-smg530t.tar.md5 file and let Odin do the rest, you will see text on your phone screen as it completes the Rooting process.

Can't boot into TWRP after install using Odin

Hi, I have flashed TWRP more then once on my S7 Edge using Odin in download mode. I followed the steps exactly including disabling auto reboot in Odin. I'm still unable to boot into TWRP and I get into the stock recovery but not TWRP. Im on stock android 8 from Samsung btw. How do I fix this? Thanks.
Hello, I had similar issue but I have found a good post that solved it: original post here
I have made it to work thanks this to these steps (you can skip magisk step so you will end with step 7):
Needs:
- Odin (Odin3_v3.13.x.zip)
- Magisk (Magisk-v16.x.zip)
- TWRP (twrp-3.2.x-x-hero2lte.img.tar)
- remove encryption.zip (link comes from original post from here: link) - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tCLamw9j07bhRgEd6qhymqUxExazy04c/view
1. Go to Download mode; Open Odin;
2. Make sure to uncheck Auto Reboot
3. Flash via AP > twrp-3.2.x-x-hero2lte.img.tar
4. Wait for Odin to Pass and exit the Download Mode again with (Volume Down+Home+Power)
5. Then directly boot intro recovery (Volume Up+Home+Power)
6. Swipe for Modifications and Wipe Data, confirm with typing "yes" and reboot again into recovery
7. Install only the remove encryption.zip and reboot into your system
8. Setup your phone and after you did reboot again into the recovery
9 Install Magisk and reboot your phone; Thats all now your phone is running Magisk fully decrypted
