HELP!! Hard bricked my LG and need help on accessing its memory and its testpoint! - LG L Fino Questions & Answers

OK, so the model of my phone is LG L Fino (D290N) and I really need to know how to short its testpoint to be able to copy stock aboot.img with dd command on Ubuntu (And no, I do not have access to QHSUSB_bulk mode. I wouldn't have disassembled it if I had access..). I took some pictures:
Front side of the board + front camera unplugged: http://imgur.com/aPgzaGU
Back side of it + front camera unplugged: http://imgur.com/8dxBces
Digitizer and screen part: http://imgur.com/k4kppmk

Hi dude.. Your problem are getting serious as I see
Since you can't even access QHSUSB mode ... the only solution is to return it if you're still under warranty and I really dont know if they will accept it.. With all the things that have been done it may be void. And if you want to manipulate with memory you will need highly expensive tools for it to solder out of the chip.
Anyway good luck with it bro..

Already realised that 6 days ago.. I'm gonna return it someday this week. Thanks for your reply though
Edit: I didn't actually do anything to the PCB or even anything inside the phone, I just looked up if I could get access to the NAND. I don't think they will even notice it had been opened

[Q] Bricked Galaxy S4 I337 help needed

Hi, I have a bricked I337 and I would like to have some opinions before I give up trying to fix it.
Here is a short version of what I have done.
The phone came to me with null IMEI which I was trying to fix. After trying several tools, the phone became dead, no boot, nothing. At this point I went for a JTAG solution. JTAG software detected it well, and repair procedure was successfull as reported by JTAG software, phone was still dead.
With the help of the JTAG software programmer I got an M919 full dump which I tried to write to phone, after 4 hours of writing the dump, battery completely died at 95% of writing. I recharged battery and after that moment have been unable to connect with phone via JTAG. JTAG software detects its hardware ID but can't initialize phone for writing.
I have read every unbrick thread from other phones, have tried QPST with many files I have found on the way and all I get are errors. So I have been unable to communicate with phone.
Is this finally a faulty phone? Have anyone have another idea?

Wow, sorry to hear this. the battery went dead before jtag finished? ouch. QPST will not help for this, a phone will still boot with no IMEI, this is not good, may want to start a warranty ticket on it. I have a jtag box, so there is a release update for the G4 for it? I did not know this, haven't check in awhile, pull the battery for a good while, replace and charge all the way, and give it one more shot. Sorry bro.

This is exactly what I didn't want to hear :crying:
I have used Riff as JTAG solution.
Unfortunately warranty is not an option for me so I will pull the battery for a couple of days before I try again. At this point it seems is really dead.
I have found many files for QPST that are supposed to do everything to a dead phone, even a command line utility for the same purpose, with some hex and mbn files, but as I said they all failed, it seems to me that eMMC chip is not working at all.
I'll keep you updated if I ever find a way to fix this phone.

Hi, I was wondering if you got your problem solved, I too have a Galaxy S4 M919 which came to my shop also with IMEI null, I also tried to repair it with RIFFBOX and the phone is dead now. I want to know if you repaired your phone and how you did it. Thank you very much. I also tried the M919 full dump you posted but the riffbox wont recognize it.

You don't need to use ODIN to fix a boot-loop, just use the 3-button combo to go into recovery and flash a backup or a ROM (Following proper wiping steps).

It's F320L, it's clearly mentioned on the back panel of the phone, and in the sticker underneath the batter, also I've used F320L based roms earlier.
But now it act as a D802, I don't know why
Please note, I have no access to Download, fastboot or ADB right now, only thing I can do is boot(end up in boot loop) and go into factory reset option by pressing and holding VOL+ and POWER

No it won't be covered by warranty. What do you mean you flashed TWRP through temporary recovery? Exactly what TWRP did you flash? The filename please.
Good news: your phone is not dead. I've had this issue once with my OnePlus One and I was able to get if fixed.
Bad news: process was a little bit harder than standard flashing, unlocking, etc. stuffs.

i use the NRT toolKit to flash TWRP (it provide temporary Recovery to flash any zip then it goes back to stock , i did this earlier its not the cause) it boot the recovery and i flashed this file :
twrp-3.0.0.0-s2vep-20160208 (then i realized it is the wrong file in the wrong folder)
after that i reboot the device and got bricked.

@Heisenberg
Flashing the wrong recovery should have corrupted( or affected ) only the recovery partition, shouldn't it. From the description the OP has given it looks like the bootloader is corrupt, which is kind of weird
Have you seen this kind of problem on any other device ( coming from a moto g to n6p I thought the bootloader corruption things were over for me , but after reading this thread I am little terrified )

me too!
i have flashed many rom with many devices , i even flashed a rom by enterning a download rom on a black screen and it worked!
but flashing wrong recovery i dont think it will cause such brick
FYI when i connect it to the PC it is recognized and when i contiously press the power buttuon it re-connected to the pc
If he really sends the device in and Google finds out HOW exactly the phone died, he might face severe consequences. It´s dishonest after all.
If you flash the wrong recovery for a different device, it´s your own bad luck. Now here´s the deal, you can still repair the device if a) Huawei would fix it or b) find a phone shop which could replace the motherboard. Once the Bootloader is bricked, there´s barely anything a regular user could do except for some complicated methods which require the knowledge and the special tools which most people don´t have.

Flashing the wrong recovery can and does cause such a brick, this is what you're experiencing. I've seen it happen on many devices, it borks the partition table.

You can tell yourself this all day long, but the phone that is in your hands that is now a doorstop, is proof otherwise.
Very crappy situation, but this is why toolkits stink, and why you need to be VERY careful when you mess w the device.

Boot verification failed, Secure boot error. FIX

So many of us was at this point sometimes, maybe due to knowledge is poor, maybe its just glitches, but we all make mistakes, cause we are humans. So humans wanna show you how to fix your LG G3 D855 model when you get errors like : -Secure boot error (mostly due to wrong recovery flash,as far i know, you will correct me if am wrong anyway)
- Boot verification failed.
In both scenarios you cant access recovery or download mode. Phone just reboots and screen gone black with LED blinking red and blue to the eternity. I am here to help u restore your phone to former condition.
I take no credits for this , cause i just reuploaded files, and rewriten text and everything , cause old post on has been deleted and i cant find it anywhere, but i still got the files in my PC.
Just download all the files in folder at Drive, and folow instrucions given as they are. BTW there are pictures, so u can do it wrong only if u are ...u know.
Dont hold me responsible for any damage on your device. I tryed this metod about 10 times in a row, so i am confirming that it works.
This metod dont require you to short anything, its just click-click-click, connect...you get it .
Sorry cause my grammar, but my English is little rusty since i wasnt using it in a really long time.
Good luck people!

KDZ file which you put in flashtool folder : http://oceanhost.eu/dsqnjfke3ueq/D85520H_00.kdz.htm
Important. What about refurbished g3, flashing wrong kdz will cause a super brick, first off all check the variant from the motherboard or just on the back of phone.
boot verification Fail !!! - Cause: MISMATC SIG LEN

Tried your method does not poluchaetsa can be detailed instructions ? On the phone firmware 6.0
Guys one thing to be kept in mind.most of refurbished d855 doesn't come d855 board.so such errors arise because of wrong model of recovery flashing.so confirm your model by opening your phone and looking at the board.

So humans wanna show you how to fix your LG G3 D855 model when you get errors like : -Secure boot error (mostly due to wrong recovery flash,as far i know, you will correct me if am wrong anyway)
- Boot verification failed.
Good luck people!

Thank you so much! What would I do without you
Got "Boot verification failed" when I got into the secret menu and tried to do "device test".
I got Fulmics 6 ROM installed and the device failed for some reason to load the MiniOS (used by the "device test").
Wasted about 5 hours until I got to this post.
This post was so useful I almost cried out of joy.
THANKS!!!

For some reason the BoardDiag available here didn't work for me. It would always says "Serial port open FAILED".
I tried with willcracker version and it worked. You can download from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359
Just a few questions before I begin, I'm obviously... u know :
1. First, I install the drivers. In what state should the phone be in when I connect it to the PC? Probably in the only possible state, that means with the screen blank and the red and blue leds blinking, correct?
2. Do I have to remove the battery before connecting the phone?
3. Flashing the last partition, sbl1, causes the phone to reboot, right? So, in the last step when flashing the kdz, does the phone have to be in download mode?
Thanks!

Np bro.
Please help me. I have installed all drivers but my G3 D855 is not getting detected by my pc. My pc is running on Windows 7 64bit. Please help me..!
in case anyone is bothering with this in 2020+ on windows10, i did run into a few hiccups and managed to boot a 'bricked' phone I bought for 50 eur
1. Only install the approproate driver for your windows architecture of QDLoader
2. If LGFlashTool2014 is demanding mfc100.dll, you need to install a Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package, yes, the x86 one: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
3. If after launching LGFlashTool2014 once, then closing, then launching again it doesn't turn on, you need to follow these steps: go to C:\Users\<YourWindowsUsername>\AppData\Local\Temp and delete everything you can, these are temporary files that programs on your pc store, they're not important, but LGFlashTool2014 for some reason makes some files that prevent it from launching
Since then the phone crashed a few times so I understand now how it got bricked, a faulty motherboard most likely, going to try baking it as described here: https://redd.it/5e0nx7 but this is irrelevant to the thread and just here for anyone stumbling upon in the distant dystopian future
Very informative post.

Motorola Moto X Play hard bricked after OTA

Hi there. I was on stock firmware when the OTA came. I did not installed for a while but when I did my phone went completely dead. I cannot boot into the bootloader nor the recovery. I cannot get fastboot to work. The only hope I have is when I connect it to Windows PC it recognizes it as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM 3). After some research I found that I can do a blankflash, but i cannot find any blankflash files for my phone. So my question is - Is there any way to generate singleimage.bin (for blankflash) or any other way to recover it? Thank you!
Got the same problem. until now no blankflash files available, i guess. Only way is by jtag box. i tried with loader.img for moto x style but it doesnt work for moto x play.
I have the same problem, no blankflash files available until now?

It won't work for sure.. The whole project was sponsored by a guy in Hard bricked Moto X Play telegram group created by us.. The only way to fix it is Jtag flashing.. It may cost you around INR 1000.
How to approach jtag?

You're welcome buddy.. Just don't waste time on blank flash files.. It just won't work as it isn't digitally signed by Motorola.. Get it fixed from Pune.. That's the only possible solution as of now.. Else you'll have to change the Mother Board..
Hello, after restoring the official firmware and working perfectly the phone, an OTA update appeared, small, I gave it to install as other times ... and from that moment the phone with the black screen.
It seems I'm not the only one, is there any way to revive it?

There is nothing to do ... send it to Motorola and pay the settlement, which is not worth it, they asked me € 195 (according to them, you had to change the motherboard) ... so thrown away.
If it had been to mess with him, but after an official OTA. Never again Motorola.

My Moto x play completely dead
My moto x play completely not working, I can't able to charge or switch Mobile.
I tried all flashmde or different types of to install., but my mobile was not detected.
But when I connect pc, its showing only Qualcomm name.
Also I tried qflash mode, mobile detecting Qualcomm connected details in my pc but its expecting content or stream file type of firmware stock file.
Can you assist any one where we can get moto x play qflash support file.
Thanks,
Rajesh Kumar R
