Longshot -->Spare parts source for a Yoga Tablet 2 830F - 8"? - Thinkpad Tablet General

Does anyone have any ideas where I can find replacement parts for this thing? Specifically I'm seeking the little flex board that houses the micro USB connector. It's my wife's tablet and she's hard on connectors. I've repaired several of her phones but this tablet is more obscure it seems.
I've been searching based on printing on the part and I can find a pic of it from google image using "lenovo Blade2_8" but the link to a russian website doesn't go to the part shown.
It looks like this:

this one or this search and i think you can find more
hardware manual

Thank You! I searched everywhere I could think of; not sure how I missed the eBay one, that's my goto source for most things like this.
I'm hoping that it is the bum part as the device still recognizes that a USB is plugged in momentarily. It's a $50 guess.

wow... that ebay seller sure has a good margin considering the import statement found here it costs 1.5 us dollars per unit (not even 2), yet the seller is the one who makes the price, if you have someone who can buy from and send it to you from china... or some friend in russia for this one i am sure is way cheaper ... or just go to a near lenovo support service that does hw repairs and beg for it or tell them that you will pay double the price (3 usd)
you can also search for the part yourself, i just linked the fast found search results

If I were you, I would order a new USB connector and then solder it to the ribbon in place of the old one. It is tricky, but doable. Just need a fine tip soldering iron and some helping hands and a pair of tweezers. You do not want to let the ribbon cable heat up and melt. That would be the end. But, like I said, it can be done.
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Success!
I bought and replaced the whole part and it works, charging as normal.
The $50 price tag was steep for a part that probably cost $0.10 in China but, whatever; that's why I work . And my wife is happy now. So I'll consider it a worthy investment.
Jaytronics - I usually do OK fixing my own stuff but I've never been any good at soldering. I'm shaky on a good day and I don't get much practice. I can get it done on larger things but on something that size I'd probably bridge 2 pins or something. I thought about trying it when I failed to find the whole piece but doubt won.
Thanks for the input guys. XDA saves the day again.
Now if I can just find a root and ROM for it.... it doesn't play with Hulu well on stock ROM.

My 8525 mini usb connector broke(pics included)

hello, i have had an 8525 since december and it has been great. except the other day i was going to charge my phone but i saw that the connector was messed up, and i have no idea how it got that way cuz my phone has zero scratches and hasn't been dropped. i tried using a 2mm flathead to fix it but it didn't work and i was scared to use a lot of force because i don't want to cause anymore damage. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

thanks for the reply, and yes the phone still functions perfectly. i turned it off though so i can save it for an emergency, as i do not have a backup phone.
Above we can see:
1
The rear view of the USB connector
2
That re-soldering will not be possible. This is a multi-layer board and these components are not part of or soldered to the USB Connector.
Above we can see:
1
The top of the USB housing and it's anchoring (possibly earthing also) soldering.
2
Soldering would be possible here to re-do the anchoring solder joints. This would be worthwhile if the connections are still in tact and the purpose is merely to re-anchor the housing.
Another view above of one of the anchor joints. Caution should be used not to dissipate excessive heat through the board - given its multi-layer nature and components on the reverse side.
Mike
EDIT:
In baller4ever85's picture it looks like one side only has come adrift and it may just require the anchoring joint to be re-soldered - but that assumes the contacts are still fine otherwise.
^thanks for the detailed pics. i don't have any experience with soldering. will htc repair it? my phone is also still under warranty w/at&t so i will see what they can do(probably not much).
I had this problem to the point I could not Sych or power the phone. I called at&t and it was replaced under warranty repair. It was replaced with an at&t branded 8525.
In the FWIW department... I did call HTC prior to calling at&t. Since this is a mother board repair item, minimum charge to look at the phone was quoted as $245!!! Thus the call to at&t.
If you can't get it fixed, I'll buy it.

Can someone explain this? Fake/ Knock off G1?

Hi everyone, I am new to the t mobile community and I was looking on good ol ebay for a G1 without a contract. At that point my search threw back this in the query. I was quick to call b.s and all that so ofcourse i didn't buy it, but I just want to ask you all what in the hell is this. Has anyone out there bought it or had any experience with this?

Just some cheap "iClone" phones from China. Check your local craigslist- people cant seem to get rid of them fast enough once they get duped into buying them
Alright, In the first link the bid has ended so i cannot help you there. NOW In the second, It's a piece of hardware that may be fake, For Example, My cousin bought a phone like that about 2 months back from ofcourse good ol' Ebay, And what was it, A Japanese phone that looked just like the Iphone, It streamed TV had an antenna for when we made the switch on cable and antennas would be dead. It had like an 8 megapixel camera, Beautiful sweet deal for a smackin' $200 bucks. SO he went ahead and bought it. When it arrived it was the phone, or more exact the model, Which weight no more than a stack of papers, It didnt turn on, NOTHING. He decided to use a flathead screw driver to open it up, and what he found was that the phone had nothing inside, Literally, Nothing but sand, To make the phone weigh. So from me to you. Don't buy it. Skip it. Go to T-mobile and get the G1. lol But that was just 1 experience never know.
damn what a shame. Hopefully the people who are winning these ebay auctions don't get a box of sand shipped to them as well. I just did some reseach on meizu, they seem to be the company that is producing this stuff. Maybe its good enough for china, but I sure as hell am not taking a chance with it.
Those phones are real (not sure about the eBay one, but Deal Extreme and others sell the iClones) but they are very low quality. They also sell a ton of Nokia clones.

Those phone don't even look like the G1. DA.
Lol... that second one has got SIX speakers!! Must be goood... hehe
Haha
I bought one of these a couple mounths ago they are useless without the stylus and no where near as good as any phone made recently but if all you got is 150 and u need it unlocked then this pos is for you lol...
Edit: this thing does internet movies music and my favorite was the web cam mine had it does a few things but it doesn't do any all that good
These phones do have uses. A lot of these Chinese knock-offs are bought by people needing unlocked phones and multi-SIM capability. In Europe, for example, there are many more carriers over much shorter distances than in the US. Also, the practice (law?) there is caller-pays-all. Incoming calls don't cost anything. Outgoing calls cost your rate plus the rate of the person you're calling, making having multiple SIM cards for different countries more economical. Many of these phones have gimmick features like TV reception, but all come with clunky, proprietary operating systems. Finding good, useful applications will be a constant source of frustration for someone looking for a way to complement his 10mm CZ "diamond" stud in his ear.

samsung epic 4g parts

Found this website that sells spare parts incase you damaged your epic. I myself was looking for a replacement for the rim around the screen as it fell out from my hoodie pocket into the street and the rim was dented. Phone works ok but the dent is an eye sore...lol. anyways here's the link : http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-Epic-4G-Replacement-Repair-Parts-s/6425.htm
Cool. Nice find. I always try to stick with OEM much as I can.
Great find
Supposing I keep this puppy as long as I kept my HTC Vogue, this will really come in handy. Thanks for passing this one along to everyone.

They are completely out of stock and might not even get it ever as they said it is hard to get. Anyone know where I can get one? Please!
Ughhh why do they have a minimum order?
Also, question about the digitizer + LCD replacement. Do you only need to buy the digitizer + LCD combo or do you also need to buy the front housing too?

The one I ordered is seen here, http://cnn.cn/shop/samsung-epic-c-26_1118.html - I bought mine from cnn.cn about 3 months ago and it was $75, not this $120 crap, terrible.
it is the same part as your website (cnn.cn, when I ordered my screen from them, had a LOT MORE Epic4g parts). What I got in the mail was a NOT CRACKED and NOT BROKEN equivalent of my old one which is this:

The link in the OP has a loudspeaker for sale. A little note: if anyone believes they have a bad antenna, the loudspeaker contains part of it, replacing it has the potential to solve the issue.
Also, I'm a coporate Sprint tech. If anyone has any issues or needs advice or a helping hand with the guts of their epic, I'm always available.

Could someone tell me what their price on the LCD and digitizer is for the Epic? Don't have time to register atm =/
They are whole sellers so you may have to buy parts in bulk in order to get stuff from them, I see that even to create an account you need to get it "approved"
But great find man!

Thanks but it requires 5 quantity purchase minimum and I only need 1 external loudspeaker. There was one selling on EBay but no longer. I am in India and bought the phone online so cannot claim warranty repairs.

A510 Accessories Thread

I don't see one, so I'll start one. List any A510 accessories you have seen, have on order or currently own. Please keep it specific to the A510, no generic sleeves/bags/keyboards since they're pretty universal among all tablets.
I'll kick it off with the A510 case I ordered off of Amazon yesterday. Look pretty nice from the pictures, and the price is definitely good ($13 + FS). It says leather, we'll have to wait and see if it's actually real dead cow. The USB port looks accessible when the case is in the 'keyboard' position, may help with my biggest criticism of the design.
The only immediate drawback is delivery, estimated for July 2nd

I have this one, just got it yesterday. Very similar to the one you linked from Amazon. I paid $17, but it's down in the $13s now.
The case is lovely, nice feel, good fit. Slim - doesn't add bulk. What I hesitate on is the tablets performance in the case. Touch sensitivity seems less responsive and my webpages are loading poorly. I'm not ready to throw it out yet, going to play with settings an make sure it's not the home router or anything. Will report back once I've used it more.
This seller has a couple others available and one thing I can say is that it was hands down the best transaction as far as communication that I've had on Ebay. It's a chinese seller, they were extremely communicative. Even contacted me after the purchase to make sure I'd read that it wasn't shipping til May 13... it said that in the auction but they wanted to be sure.

A510 Car Charger
UPDATE 6/14/12: Received replacement charger. Different body style, with a circular connector at the end mating to a micro-USB adapter. Thinking he finally got it right...
WRONG! Same thing happened, plug it into the tablet and the fuse blows. Pretty sure I know why, I believe the voltage is going to the wrong pins. Why do I think that? Because my freaking USB port doesn't work for data transfer any more, either from a memory stick or to my PC. Looks like the USB data lines are fried, but I can still use the Acer charger to charge it. So now I've got to set my new baby in for repairs, glad I kept my A500 as a backup.
Sucks being a guinea pig. I'm just going to order another wall charger, I've got a small inverter in the truck to plug it into. Should have known better, I told him to take down the Amazon listing before anyone else blows up their A510, if I get any crap from him I'll be taking it up with Amazon.
UPDATE 6/10/12: Vendor believes he sent the wrong charger, is sending another. Will update post when received.
DO NOT ORDER THIS CHARGER.
It seems to be just a regular micro-USB 5V charger used for cell phones. Plugging it in to the tablet immediately blows the fuse, at least that works the way it should. I will be contacting the vendor for a refund.
Next up from Amazon, ordered an A510 car charger. I've seen other products from this seller before, looks like this one has been custom made and molded. Under $25 w/shipping.

Nope, too many small solder joints! CanĀ“t simply not solder as it sits too close to each others!
It's not that hard, anyway going to a service center could be an alternative.

i guess they are the same, atleaset thats what the 'online chat helpdesk' guy on their website said.
I dint order it, instead got it fixed from asus service centre. It cost me 160$.
The item from the website + shipping charge will cost you nearly 120$ or more,
its better you get it fixed by asus.
I have the same problem.

Hi! I'm from Portugal and I have the same problem as all of you here....
But if you think that the service from Asus was expensive... tell me what you think about the 859$ that Asus Portugal asked me to repair the micro-usb!!!
At the website that was posted here earlier, I can by the pice by 69$... I only don't have the knowledge to replace it....
If any one knows about some tutorial or some guidelines that makes me understand how to do it without damaging the entire device, I really be gratefull!!
Hoping to get some answers...

Search on AliExpress for "charger flex For ASUS PadFone 2 A68 charging port connector USB dock flex cable free shipping" and resolve your problem.
