Marshmallow 6.0 Rollout starting soon - X 2014 General

Seems like good news for 2nd Gen Moto X Retail models.
Read this: https://plus.google.com/app/basic/s...tform=1&spath=/app/basic/+DavidSchuster/posts
If anyone captures OTA zip for retail models, please post it here.

I don't understand David Schuster... He doesn't say a word about the reason why xt1096 and xt1097 at&t doesn't get upgraded.
It's like he doesn't care from all that owners who own these models...
At lease he need to tell us why

According to frandroid.com update starts rollout today in France

I have EU 1092 (i from Czech Republic), so why he wrote Germany etc, but what means EU? It's not Germany, because version it's "retde" but i have reteu.

Worry not, I can tell you that soak test for your model has started. Your Model is the same as mine (RETail-EUrope). Next week release, if everything goes smooth.

He probably doesn't want to burn bridges with AT&T by publicly calling them out on it.

Finally got OTA .. XT1092 , Indian Model

I got my update to Marshmallow yesterday. Pretty impressed at the speed of this one as Lollipop took forever to arrive!!
The actual update process went very smoothly.
It's made the overall feel of the whole OS a lot nicer and smoother. Definitely feels more polished to me. Also love the unbelievable control of app permissions in this one! They've really ramped up on security here.
Another small but amazingly useful change: the addition of battery percentage!!!! Took them long enough but finally it's here in some form or another!
Everything seems to work quite well without having to reset the phone like I used to have to do when upgrading from other versions of Android.
Not tested battery life just yet but hoping it'll have improved thanks to Doze.
So far I'm very impressed with this one and am actually considering sticking to Android a bit longer as my plan was change my phone for an iPhone 7 when released as was getting really sick of the silly little Android bugs.

Got the OTA yesterday. XT1092.

Got mine today 6.0 1097 at about noon

What did I do wrong. My xt1092 became laggish especially in Chrome. Even after full wipe and cache wipe?

There are a lot of people who mentioned low performance after update. Only 6.0.1 update can fix that.

try using chromium or cm browser no lag at all on those I'm running a Brazilian 1097 twrp backup from last month on my 1095. No lag in the system but terrible with chrome. using those browsers solved my issue.

Chromium is it the same as Chrome Dev?

not only chrome many apps shows lag like instagram whatsapp facebook side scrolling phonograph(too much) .
try chrome dev or chrome beta, the animation stutter on the 3 dot menu bar on top right is not there on the beta and dev version.
also if you turn on moto voice from settings>accesibility, chrome will go berserk and start lagging more and switching it off makes it normal again.i dont know why this is happening, anyhow i already reported this on moto forums

What's new in this Rom ?
Sweet. I'm still waiting for the n8010 update :/.
I can't imagine it will be released much later though really
I think should be the same as the German rom but we shall only know when someone downloads it and post a review

Well, there doesn't seem to be much difference between this ROM (there's only one; the Dutch and UK ROMs are the same) and the German ROM I've been using for a while.
Here's some subtle differences:
- The icons in the notification bar seem to have been updated so their a little cleaner and better spaced apart.
- The S-Pen seems a little less twitchy. Using it in hover on the German ROM seemed like it was set too sensitively.
- Polaris is still the older version and the newer one in Samsung Apps still FC's after you install it. And PDF annotate still doesn't work.
- The quick apps on the home screen are back.
- The display seems like its calibrations have been changed. Colors seem a little better balanced and text seems clearer (this could be placebo).
- Auto-brightness seems a little smoother in its transitions (also could be placebo).
- The mobile signal seems to lock faster when you're turning it off and on (another possible placebo).
- The "check for update" error is gone.
It "feels" the same as the German ROM performance wise but other than the above I haven't found any other differences.
So the question why did Samsung take a month to roll it out really stupid of them

Trying to figure out why Samsung does what they do and the order they choose to do it in will just give you a headache. It's kind of like riding a specific roller coaster for the first time. You'll never know what's coming up next.
LOL good one
They may very well have been using the German rom as a beta... Any subsequent fixes can be patched later with an TA update after rolling out to rest of the world....
As there weren't any real problems with the German rom, and giving it a month to get bug reports, they are now rolling out tweaked version to everyone else...
Got it this morning in norway

Asia should be next but considering how much time it took to travel from Germany to UK I think its walking on foot So Asia could be a year or two away lol
Should release within this week normally it happens the next day after UK gets the update but can never trust Samsung on updates only thing is for sure it happens first thing in the morning
So this better than 4.1.1 german right ?

Yeah I really don't have to many issues either I was just being snide. I do think it burns too much battery while sitting idle with screen off though. I shouldn't be losing 5 to 10 percent battery overnight. Mind you my overnights are 6 to 7 hours usually.

Finally, someone with common sense (and you beat me to it).
ROM's won't appear until it's in AOSP and Dev's re-compile.
for those devices it goes out to, we might see the OTA available if someone captures and upload it to their favorite BB
And then this could lend credence to VZ's hitting stores with 5.1 a week from Thursday (But I still think those would be a 5.0 variant with a open and update to 5.1 myself ...)

Yeah, totally snappier and quick--very excited because to be honest, I was a little disappointed by the phone's performance. T-Mobile, MN, USA.
On Verizon wireless in us no update yet thanks for the heads up however
Same for me. Much snappier feeling. It took quite a while to load some apps initially with 5.0. 5.1 is absolutely better. I'm an android Dev and have access to a lot of more expensive phones and am using this for its amazingly great battery (way better than my 2013 moto x . over double for my use ) and to hold me over until 2015 moto x. Not a bad phone all

I wonder if something is suppressing the software update check (which I had previously configured to run once a day).

New Update on Droid Maxx

I just got this update a few minutes ago. I can't seem to find anyone talking about it. Anyone got any information on changes?
Just the stage fright patch
To me this is kind of a disappointment, considering that the time was taken to produce a security update for an exploit that has been around a while, but the release a new os for the ultra/maxx/mini users that could better the experience and patch the security issues is nowhere in sight. Furthermore with this patch, its very doubtful that we will see L on our devices.

Big disappointment indeed. This is all Verizon has to offer? A patch for the stagefright bug? Wow, I'm impressed. Not!
Yeah, I think at this point droid maxx/ultra/mini users can pretty much forget about getting Lollipop. I mean come on, L has been out for a year and these phones are two years old now. They (the carriers) are not going to waste time, money, and effort on dinosaur phones, especially with Marshmallow out now.
Edit: Just got my "New system software available". Had to go into settings>system update to get the notification. The update is only 2.7 megabytes. Just a bug patch, that's all.
Whoopee! Not!
So if they don't deliver, will maxx users get a kickback like atrix hd owners did when kk wasn't delivered.

Stock launcher update, no more safe boot crashes while you have more than 200 apps.

Verizon took all this time just to come out with a 2.7 mb update? This sucks bigtime.
