I own a Coolpad Note 3 running on Android 5.1 Lollipop and packs MT6753 MediaTek 64-bit octacore processor and 3GB RAM. After rooting this device, when I installed Xposed Framework, though it installed successfully but shows a message that this version isn't supported yet. What is this message and when is this platform going to get supported. This was heartbreaking because the major reason of rooting the device was this Framework.
What version of Xposed did you attempt to install? What method did you use to install? What does it say in the log file? We cannot help you without this information.

First, I tried official version of Xposed Installer for lollipop devices. It was a failure(a message popped out after installing that Xposed is not yet supported on this processor platform). I flashed it using custom recovery based on CWM. I was stuck in a boot loop after that. Then I was left with no option but to flash my stock ROM as I had no backup at that time.

Please refer to the official Xposed for Lollipop thread, especially post #2. There you'll find an FAQ about common issues and a table to identify the correct Xposed version. You need to flash the correct .zip file through recovery (as you have done before) and install the Xposed_Installer_alpha3.apk afterwards. After flashing, wipe cache&dalvik, as Xposed alters a lot of files in your system, so this step is highly recommended. If this does not solve your issue, search the thread, there have been several questions about Mediatek compatibility before.
Your initial error (Xposed not compatible) was due to the fact that you tried to install the old Xposed installer for KitKat, which is not compatible with Lollipop.

A guy using Coolpad note 3 tried a method to install Xposed and it worked(to some extent though). What he did was he installed busybox, flashed the Xposed zip files. After rebooting, he still got caught in a bootloop but after 15-20 boot loops(seems like it depends on no. of apps installed as each time his phone booted, percentage of optimising apps increased), he was finally able to start his phone. Now under Xposed settings, he checked disable resourced hooks and rebooted. He got Xposed Framework active status after rebooting. A no. of apps which modify UI like gravitybox, xblastools, greenify in root mode etc were not working. But a few others worked quiet well. Could anyone throw some light on this issue?

Unless you're the one trying it, and you can supply full logcats for the entire multi-reboot process, we probably can't know for sure.

I will try it myself and hopefully provide logcats for the entire multi-boot process.
Can you please share which version of xposed you used because I did the same and it was stuck on bootloop then I realized that the % of starting up apps was increasing gradually but after 3-4 attemps it went down and started from zero and so I flashed it again.
I think the issue is that i used xposed arm64-v78 sdk22 but my device is arm64-v8a, and I guess xposed is not yet released for arm64-v8a sdk22 devices.
So finally with this thread I got a hope to try it again and please share as much info as you can coz its gonna help others a lot

DonkeyGuard module won't work on lollipop. Any app that changes system behaviour seems to have not worked on this platform yet. Refer to this post for more info:

You can find the uninstaller in the same thread where you have found the correct Xposed framework version for your device. Use the same specs (SDK version, ARM version) as for the Xposed framework for the uninstaller and flash it. Don't forget to wipe cache&dalvik afterwards.

I've been trying for many hours to get Xposed running on marshmallow.
Steps I've taken trying on fugu-mra58k and fugu-mra58n:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot -w
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-fugu.img
Go into twrp, send xposed-v78-sdk23-x86.zip, reboot recovery, install Xposed zip, System reboot, then it bootloops.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
You're just going to have to wait for the developer to release a newer version of Xposed for Marshmallow that isn't as buggy. I tried grabbing a logcat from a boot-looped Nexus Player after flashing Xposed v78 but did not have any success there. If you haven't already done so, run xposed-uninstaller-20150831-x86.zip in TWRP to restore your device back to normal.
Xposed v79 (SDK 23)
Xposed v79 was released yesterday and the developer says ".. I have fixed many crashes and bootloops that were reported on GitHub. It's hard to say which devices and ROMs profit from the changes. Affected devices mentioned in the issues were mainly HTC and LG, plus any devices which have activated the compiler filter "everything" for ART.".
Has anybody tested the new version (Xposed v79 - SDK 23) on their Nexus Player running 6.0+? Please let us know if the bootloop issue has been resolved. Thanks!
About to try it out now. Thing is I am going to use the latest Pure Nexus Rom. Reading thru it and a quick search doesnt mention Xposed at all. I did notice right away that SELinux is mentioned to be on Enforcing for this rom which if I recall, not a good idea for Xposed. Either way, Ill just be the test dummy, lol.
I can confirm that Xposed is up and running. Hasn't cause a bootloop even once. This is with only the Pandora Patcher and Youtube AdAway enabled. Most other modules arent needed.
Device: Nexus Player
Recovery: TWRP
Rom: Pure Nexus (Android 6.0.1 r3)
Xposed: xposed-v79-sdk23-x86 & XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk

Flashing xposed-v79-sdk23-x86 still causes my Nexus Player with Android 6.0.1 to get stuck on the Android boot animation. I tried capturing a logcat with ADB according to the instructions in rovo89's latest sticky post but my attempts to do so were unsuccessful.

Have identical issue. Also tried capturing logs and was unsuccessful.
I haven't updated to 6.0.1 yet, I'm still on "6.0.0 (MRA58N)" rooted using Chainfire's systemless-root method (SuperSU Beta v2.62-3). I will give it a try myself within this week. Hopefully it will work and I'll post here if it does. I mainly need it for Youtube Adaway.
Both 6.0 and 6.0.1 had bootloops for me with the latest Xposed x86 v79

v81 just installed, optimizing apps now! Boot animation takes a little longer than usual, but just wait it out and you're good.

I left it there for over 20 minutes to make sure enough time had elapsed. This result isn't really a surprise, though, as Xposed v81 added changes for developers rather than bug fixes for end users.

With ASOP builds, it works. With stock, it doesn't.
Unfortunately, xposed-v82-sdk23-x86 still does not boot past the Android animation screen on the Nexus Player with the stock Marshmallow operating system.

I should mention that the current versions of the YouTube AdAway module and the YouTube for Android TV app aren't working together (since most videos do not load) but I've reported the problem to @wanam along with an Xposed log so let's hope for the best and see what happens.

Got my S7 Edge SM-935W8 Installed TWRP, CF Auto root and xposed. Before i did that i used the stock phone for a day. FASTEST PHONE IVE EVER USED. NOTHING COMES CLOSE TO THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS PHONE OUT OF THE BOX. THIS IS NOT A POsT TO BASH THE S7 EDGE

So does that mean you are going to flash back the stock ROM. I'm undecided on whether to root or not. I've been jailbreaking since the first iPhone, and the S7 edge is my first ever android device. I must say I can do almost everything I used to on jailbreak but with a lot less effort.

This is specifically made for TW devices, because Samsung makes modifications to ART and other things that break the normal Xposed. I installed it on my S7e and it works like a charm

Anyways I wrote this because if you go far enough to trip Knox you aren't going to want to run stock TW. With the features this phone has I can't see myself running cm or a AOSP distro if I lose out on the hardware's capabilities. For a thousand dollar phone the price tag doesn't meet the performancs running stock with root and xposed.
I used wanams custom Xposed v80 x64. The TWRP exynos version and Cf-root. This version of Touchwhiz is 8gb. There is ALOT of RAM usage on the device stock. With Xposed framework on top the device is lagging behind what it should be.
I'm dying to get a custom TW running because this device is a beast but there is to much on top of the essentials that are holding back the s7.
If you are thinking of going the mod route you should not use stock. When the time comes flash a custom TW.

Yeah, 0x1 now.
Wasn't a big deal for me, as this is probably the sixth phone I had with Fort Knox.
I wanna start playing with this thing but Sam mobile doesn't have our firmware up yet.
Any other firmware I can use to reflash stock if I run into trouble playing with this thing?
I'm also on the w8 variant and like to have everything on my laptop before I make the leap

You shouldn't need another. With Odin you can flash the recovery again if it fails but after you have a recovery you can just factory reset it and it well go back to default. Go to the TWRP EXYNOS thread and follow his steps. Its a smooth process

Download Nandroid manager and online Android backup. Your gonna have to get TWRP and root
Make a backup and save it to your SD card. Copy it somewhere safe, and make sure you can flash it if anything goes wrong.
Or you can hold off and wait for Sam's mobile. In due time it will have a stock image for your provider

Did you glad the "dm-verity- disabler "? I'm not sure what that does, but it was part of the instructions. Also did you do a factory reset when flashing twrp? Because my phone is all setup up now, I don't want to do a factory reset to get twrp.

before i root i need to make sure sammy can resolve all 6.0.1 issues, mainly crappy 3d gaming performance. happens on ALL 6.0.1 devices, on Note 5 running angry birds 2 for 5 minutes results in awful lag and stuttering same with s7e, however 5.1.1 Note 5 runs it perfect!!!
i mainly play ppsspp emulator and angry birds 2, and this stupid bug must be resolved!

That file removes the encryption on internal storage. It's required if you wish to have TWRP have read write access to the internal storage. Wichita is required if you plan on using custom rom in the future.
I'm thinking what you could do (which is what I'm gonna do) is flash the auto root method. Then do a full backup with titanium to sd card. Then install TWRP and do full wipe and no diversity script and TWRP root method.
Then reload my titanium backup.
Think this will best of both worlds as I'll have read write access and won't lose all my data.
Can anybody confirm or correct me on my thinking here?

My concern is that in my research I found out that installing Xposed specifically on LG G2 phones causes "force close" errors because of the G2's smart cover and weather components. Apparently there are ways to disable those components to get Xposed working without the force close errors. But for this particular phone, I need those components enabled and working. Either that or I need seamless alternatives.
So my question is, does the current version of Xposed (v80 at the time of writing) support these troublesome LG components yet? I'd just like an answer to that before I risk it myself.
I'm new here and I can't code, but as thanks for any help I might receive I'm willing to do a nice write-up on the entire process for this specific phone from root to TWRP to Xposed. No such thing exists as far as I can tell. I've just been finding all the info I need up to this point scattered around the net, and it would be nice to have it all in one place.

As far as I know, these issues should be solved with newer Xposed versions. But as this has only been stated by rovo89 and not confirmed (at least to my knowledge) by any affected user, I still have this in the FAQ.
You can flash Xposed and check if the issue still persist. If yes, reboot back to recovery and flash the uninstaller.zip to uninstall Xposed.

I can confirm that the Xposed Framework as of v80 no longer breaks the LG Weather widget or the Smart Cover component on the D800. :good:
Just got this tablet today for around the house use light gaming watching YouTube and reading books on it but i can't find any info on this thing and what I do find is conflicting box says 1.00ghz on the 8inch website says 1.30ghz and a completely different cpu, mines manufacturer date was a month ago so I thought I had the latest model it has android 6.0 on it from the factory
Question is its pretty slow in basic games and Web browsing etc is there any info on rooting this or installing a rom allowing over clocking, I'd like to get the performance up a bit if possible.. I have noticed it cuts all cores off but one during some tasks and makes it come to a stand still almost so if I could root just to stop that I'd be happy

I'd be hesitant, though; since it doesn't seem like there's any TWRP - and you'd def want a backup of the system before you root, or OTAs will be a nope.
kingroot failed, requested root and it shows 1 request so i doubt there is any root available for it right now its too new

Have you tried Kingo Root (via kingoapp.com)?
I was able to rooot my TB3-710F (Android 5.0.1 lollipop) with their windows version after a few attempts. Not sure if there was a trick to it or not. Have flashed back to stock and will try again to see if I can repeat.
Android 6.0 probably fixed most known exploits.

Did u manage to get CWM or TWRP?
I had no problems with kingroot , it work very well and has a nice utility app to remove the bloatware etc. download it from the link in this forum here , because there seem to have many weird places who claim to have the latest and best one.. here is the link in the forum :

This is perfect thread, I was trying to find info on this Tablet, and there is hardly anything about it...
Has anyone managed to find / know, or get TWRP or CWM onto this device yet?? I was planning on picking one up tomorrow, but it all depends if there is a Custom Recovery available for it....

None that I've been able to find. I'm currently compiling a modified, pre-rooted, debloated & deodexed stock 6.0.1 ROM for this tablet

On my TB3-850F I notice that Lenovo doesn't really add bloat to begin with. The non-standard apps can simply be uninstalled in the usual way. After years of using Samsung (Note, Note II, Tab 2) this is a refreshing change for me (on Samsung stock ROM the "extra" apps are baked in and can be frozen but not truly uninstalled; OK you can kind of uninstall them with 3C or Titanium but you can't actually reclaim any space so you might as well just freeze them).
Anyway I think a pre-rooted stock ROM is a good idea as there is no Chainfire Auto Root or similar yet and from the other forum posts on this device it's clear that people struggle when using adb and fastboot and TWRP if they are not already familiar with these kinds of tools and environments.

Lenovo is certainly more sparing on the bloat than manufacturers like Samsung for sure, not to mention all the bloat that comes pre-installed on the bulk of carrier branded devices. There are several Google related applications, however, which are baked in. With deodexing, lib removals, app data and app cache, I have been able to free up nearly 500 MB of space, leaving the end user with a bare bones Google infrastructure -- Google Play Services, Framework, Play Store, etc. More and more Android enthusiasts are becoming focused on privacy, and are steering away from all the Google centered applications.
Yeah on root I'm including a patched boot image for full systemless root support, using @Chainfire's SuperSU v2.79 TWRP flashable zip. I've made a couple of stability tweaks to the TWRP custom recovery already available for this tablet as well.
Oh, keep in mind on this particular MTK Board Platform and partitioning index, the /system image partition is allotted to 3.0GB. With bloat removed and some cleanup, the /system partition can be re-sized to 2.3GB using ext4fs, leaving 700MB to be carried back over to the /data partition.

You may be interested in this ROM I mentioned in Lister of Smeg's TB3-850F Thread. It's for sister tablet with SIM card, TB3-850M. Fran89 has been working on device tree etc for TB3-850F, but efforts with custom ROM seem to have stalled. PW.

Can you either nandroid back or flash a stock image if things go south? Can you even flash zips in TWRP yet without issue? You're rolling a big pair if you can't do either.

To be honest, there's really not much benefit at all to rooting yet. Yet people spend hours upon hours of aggravation trying to do so, with many of them that shouldn't be anywhere near an ADB command.
It's the same story with every new phone. The "root commandos."

Do you think it might work on Tilde's ROM? it's a 7.0 ROM
I really dont want screw up, I would not know how to reverse it.

I was just thinking the same thing... i've almost always rooted and modified my phones.. but I think it was usually for a specific purpose or need..
the older phones I had were running touchwiz.. which i HATED to use.. so was so eager to get ROM with more of a stock android..
Or how I would love having some of the features of Cyanogenmod.. like "ScreenShot" or Reboot menu ... but with the V20.. it has screen shot built in beautifully..
I know it was also nice to be able to install titanium backup and be able to delete a lot of the stock bloatware .. but the V20 doesn't have much.. plus I can disable most of them...
I do wish I could find a rom that may run a little faster... I have noticed some Hiccups with this phone.. and 1 or 2 random reboots.. but honestly i'm sure if I went with custom software or modifed with Xposed.. i could see that more..
It would be interesting to see what some of the reasons why people on here have rooted the V20.

Mega ROM On 7.0 Stock Kernel With SU. If You Have TWRP, Back Up Just In Case. Download Xposed Installer And In Settings There Is An Installation Option, Choose Manual (This Will Save Downloaded Files So You Can Flash Manually From SD) go To The Main Screen And You Can Get Both The Official framework And The Uninstaller. Consider Looking Up How To Unbrick just In Case

I never did root my V20. I'm on the Note 8 now and can't see any benefit of rooting it, either.
I'm really fond of Android Pay. I'm pretty fond of my phone working as it should all day every day. To one degree or the other, you lose that with root. SystemUI tuner will do quite a bit of Xposed's work, and I'm not so annoyed with ads that I feel a need for Adaway.

Dl the APK, sdk24 arm64 version of xposed, and the Uninstaller. Install the APK and allow the app to install xposed through recovery. It will begin install, prompt to reboot in recovery, obviously select okay. Then it's an automatic process. Initial boot up time takes a while so be patient. Everything should be good to go after that. Good luck!
BTW I'm on h918, stock 10q.
I have YouTube adblock, boot manager, xposed torch, and stay awake for now. I feel like a nerd being excited about xposed. This is making the v20 even better!

I installed the original version first. Once it was up and running, I flashed the new version.
