I have a problem. I can't connect my legend to my pc anymore.
What happened:
I downgraded>rooted>Flashed custom rom>Flashed differed custom rom
then my legend didn't recognize the SD card anymore(but this is solved).
Now the problem is, is that when I connect it to the pc, the legend do's what is supposed to do(ask what kind of connection you want) then the pc go's *badum*(usb sound) and fails to recognize the legend(AKA cant find the right drivers to communicate with the legend)
I have tried and tried and tried:
restart pc
restart legend(its has a stock rom now (failed re-flash attempt))
installed latest HTC sync
uninstalled usb drivers
differed usb ports
The phone itself works properly. But a connection with the pc cant be made.
The Fastboot usb connection WORKS
The Recovery usb connection Does NOT work
When booting phone wile connected to the pc the pc makes 3x a usb connected/disconnected sound

I have my galaxy y flashed with JellyBlast4.1 and also merruk kernel 2.5 then reinstalled stock roms because there are so many processes that appears to force stop..
after so many times I reflashed stock rom, jellyblast and merruk the phone cannot go to CWM properly...them CWM menu sometimes appear then mostly its just merruk image with the ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.6 text....
I can still connect to ODIN mode but several PC cant recognize my device...it says USB device not recognized. I installed Kies old version and new version...I also tried using only samsung usb drivers not the kies packages..but still PC saya usb device not recognized...
what can I still do... I'm not able to use my phone for 3 days already...
I tried to connect and disconnect my galaxy y and connect again but I get the same response from the PC....
I also tried to do the reflashing stock rom process via ODIN on other PC's on several computer shops here in my area in Philippines but still cannot reflash stock rom via ODIN because my device cant be recognized...
I have gone to conclusion that some or a specific component of my phone is damaged already...
should I go to service center already???please I still wanna fix this problem on my own with your supports....I dont wanna spend money on service center yet... also I dont have money...im still a student....huhuhuh
Try to flash stock rom via odin on windows vista os pc or windows7 home basic os
I also faced dis prob on my windows7 ultimate os but on windows vista everytime my galaxy y get recognized

can you post SS
Try flashing a different merruk kernel and see whether the pc detects your device.
Don't do it many times as there can be chances of hard brick.

Dude install samsung kies don't update try to wait give it like 5 minutes it works for me using windows 7 ultimate
its now getting detected but git stucked on setup connection on odin 1.85,,,id:com on odin has already turned yellow below with 0:[COM5]

my phone samsung galaxy y GT 5360 was working just fine...then today i got an update then i downloaded it..n started installing update but it stucked at 88% for long time so i switched it off during installing..n then it is stuck on the start up logo n nothing happens futhur..n whn i connect to it to computer for odin it says unknow device unable to install drivers...pls help i followed all threads !! bt could not found any useful info ~

My Galaxy Y shows up the Welcome LOGO and goes OFF in say about 10 seconds.
I tried going into recovery mode/ download mode , but the operation lasts for only 10 seconds approximately.
Trying to connect the Phone to my PC fails with some "Unable to connect via USB" kind of a warning.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Use linux OS( in computer ) because no drivers are needed there.... :good:
BUT....
I dont know whether ODIN is available for LINUX OS...
Anyway try searching... :good:

A usb cable carries power so you can enter download mode without the battery

Make sure keis is not installed (conflicts with odin) and install Samsung drivers
Or try a different pc or Google what to do when phone not recognised - the answers are there
install samsung drivers
noo need of kies
switch off the phone
and then connect ur data cable to ur pc qnd then pressing the
volume down+home key+powerkey u will
enter into download mode ..
then ur phone will be detected by the pc..

If you rejoin yourself and try to be more accurate with your's problem description somebody will help.
First: what do you wanna do?
Second: power off your phone. Power on with Vol+ pressed. Boot menu will appear. Connect the usb cable to PC and after to phone. In what way pc reacted?

XP is more suitable for flashing. I am also faced troubles with win7

From this position if you connect the Defy to PC through usb cable you will see a message on the pc saying that it search the drivers. After pc find and install drivers (or you install drivers from forum) start RSD and do the flsh. If you see nothing most probable that usb cable is defective.

Dude, I'm having this problem, too...
A friend gave me his Defy to let me repair it - it has the LED Bug (or what its called), so it does nothing. Just giving a white LED, when it has been connected with USB Port... I tried so mich different drivers, USB-Ports and USB-Cables... All Modes that I found I tried and so on, but no chance...
Now I hope to get a important information in this forum...

I didn't say to format the pc but to try another usb cable because sometime is a data cable problem.

I was playing Clash of Clans and charging my phone. It turn off and I couldn't do anything with it.
I saw this video www youtube com watch?v=EL12Cq9X3oo and I tried but I have some problems.
At first, phone was detected by Qcom Phone Download Tools v2:1.0.1 , and I could start download. It stopped at 3% and since this moment the phone is not detected like COM PORT. It is detected like Human Interface USB.
I don't know what I have to do. I have waited 2 days, to drain the batery and computer is recognized as the same, Human Interface USB
I am using a virtual machine with XP 32bits.
Please help.

yes, now i am travelling, so I have my laptop with VM. Tomorrow I will stay at home and I will try with XP computer, but I think it wont work.
The video I've linked is in a VM too.

I have tried in XP 32bit PC and it didn't work. Computer detects the phone as HID :S
Before connect the phone, I installed the QCom drivers but nothings special happends when I plug the phone. No recognized as COM Port.
I don't know what I need to do, I think it should exist a solution
Please help!!!

Windows 7 32bit should be okay. Try my guide in the gionee elife e7 general thread. If it doesnt work, keep uninstalling the usb input device and try different combos with the volume and power buttons before plugging USB to computer. If your LED light blinks red while you are connected as USB input device that increases your probability of succeeding.

I did. I have unbricked the phone. I made a factory cable and the PC recognized the phone.
I have one problem. Battery is always 1%.... and if i disconnect the charger mobile turn off in less than minute.
I am updating to KitKat with the phone update. I hope update fix the error.
EDIT: I used Win7 64bits.

Phone after disconnect charger went off. When I connected the phone to the pc the problem returns... It recognized as HID. I tried some restarts, push PW button 12 second and after disconnect the cable, etc...
When I was triying to detect the phone as port com, light red was freeze and turned on without the usb cable.
I press power, vol+ and vol- for few seconds and red light stopped. After that the phone was charging normally.
When I woke up it was 100% .
Have u tried Qualcomm fastboot
I flashed mi rom on mi A1 with flash tool
now i got my A1 bricked
No fast boot , no recovery , no nothing
when i connect it with charger or with pc i got vibration with blinking of LED notification but the screen never turns on.
when i connect it to PC or my charger, It shows no thing but start vibrating..
Please help !!!

It´s not dead, it´s in edl mode. Connect it to pc and flash via miflash.

it doesn't connect to pc whenever I connect it to pc it starts vibrating.. no device is connected to pc nor shown in miflash..
