[Q] USB Bricked - Legend General

Hi all
I have a problem. I can't connect my legend to my pc anymore.
What happened:
I downgraded>rooted>Flashed custom rom>Flashed differed custom rom
then my legend didn't recognize the SD card anymore(but this is solved).
Now the problem is, is that when I connect it to the pc, the legend do's what is supposed to do(ask what kind of connection you want) then the pc go's *badum*(usb sound) and fails to recognize the legend(AKA cant find the right drivers to communicate with the legend)
I have tried and tried and tried:
restart pc
restart legend(its has a stock rom now (failed re-flash attempt))
installed latest HTC sync
uninstalled usb drivers
differed usb ports
The phone itself works properly. But a connection with the pc cant be made.
The Fastboot usb connection WORKS
The Recovery usb connection Does NOT work
When booting phone wile connected to the pc the pc makes 3x a usb connected/disconnected sound
Thanks in advance!

There a guide in rom development section on how to unbrick your usb.

USB device is not recognized error.

Hi all,
I'm experiencing the above problem. It started last week when I tried to reflash the firmware to a third party firmware. The unit could power up as normal, wifi, bluetooth all working fine but not the USB. I've tried installing a utility which switches the mode from RNDIS to USB but it still failed .. hard resetting the device does not help either. Is there a way that I could revive the USB connection? I couldn't sync my contact etc at the moment with my PC.
BTW, currently I'm on Onyx Jr. 4.1.2. I could not update to any firmware due to this and I don't have microSD to SD converter which I could use to copy the firmware to the microSD.
TA.
Disconnect sync cable. Reconnect to different usb port on computer. Right click ActiveSync in taskbar. Click connections. Make sure "Allow USB connections" is checked. If above fails, uninstall usb adapter in device manager, reboot computer. It'll reinstall with stock drivers after reboot.
It may happen due to faulty USB cable. Try and use another cable and on some other computer and check
I've tried all that I could think off including removing activesync and reinstalling it back. I've few miniUSB lying around and I've tested many of them but my notebook just did not want to recognized the htc touch. I've tried using those cables with my wife's tytnII and they worked .. could it be the hardware problem inside htc touch itself?
Tried with a new USB cable found in my newly bought GPS and if I reseat the cable properly, my notebook could recognised the htc touch. So I guess a new cable does help.. thanks all for the help.

problems usb connection

My HTC Hd2 can not connect to the computer, when I connect the USB cable it is not tray to recognize. neither started activesync. However, if the startup boot mode if it recognizes me, can anyone help me?

HTC HD2 Won't charge or be recognized via USB

Hello,
** I posted this in the Windows forum but I have since flashed to Android and the problem continues so i'm posting on here for hope that someone will help **
I recently successfully installed Windows Phone 7 rom onto my HTC HD2. The phone was working fine and would charge the battery when connected to a dedicated charger on the wall plug as well when it was plugged into another computer. I recently attempted to plug the phone into the computer via USB only to find it wouldn't recognize it ,no prompts on the computer or the orange light on the phone. I turned off the phone, removed the battery for several minutes, I started the phone up again and it would boot into Windows Phone 7 normally without any errors but still it would not be recognized by the computer or allow itself to be charged by an external battery power. I had read somewhere that if I where to select Mass Storage option off the bootloader that it would charge the battery and create a partition on the computer. Huzzah! the computer recognized the partition, but the battery still wasn't charging. Here are the direct steps that I took since I got the phone:
Phone: HTC HD2 T Mobile
1. Unlock the phone (successfully)
2. installed HSLP3
3. Flashed Radio leo 2.15.50.14
4. Installed/Flashed MAGLDR113
5. Using USB Flasher installed the LEO70_ROM
6. Flashed Android 2.2
That's all no settings afterwards were messed with, and Windows phone 7 came up normally and worked perfectly.
Side notes:
-I have tried multiple micro USB cords and different Socket Wall Chargers.
-I have tried multiple computers that never had the phone installed on it before and it won't recognize it.
- USB Flasher on MAGLDR does work, the phone recognizes that it is connected to the PC and the PC installs the drives when applicable.
- Boot loader (multi color screen) also isn't recognized on the computer when connected in that mode.
- I have used USDEVIEW to uninstall all USB connections installed previously on the computer and still it does not pick up the phone.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mr_Pickles
I have a question, when you connectcyour HD2 to your computer via USB while in bootloader you do not get USB in the white bar of bootloader or HTC USB sync in the safe to remove device?
Have you checked your battery pins on your HD2 to makecsure none of them are out of alignment or bent in any kind of way?
Also your HD2 should show up as MAGLDR in the safe to remove thing when you havecit connected to your computer and select option #4 USB Mass Sty or option #5 USB Flasher.
Hi T-Macgnolia,
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly, please see below for answers to your questions.
Q: When you connectcyour HD2 to your computer via USB while in bootloader you do not get USB in the white bar of bootloader or HTC USB sync in the safe to remove device?
A: No it doesn't, the White bar stays at "Serial" and HTC USB Sync does not appear on the "Safe to remove Device" section on the computer.
Q: Have you checked your battery pins on your HD2 to makecsure none of them are out of alignment or bent in any kind of way?
A: All battery pins are straight, there are none that are bent or out of alignment.
Q: Also your HD2 should show up as MAGLDR in the safe to remove thing when you havecit connected to your computer and select option #4 USB Mass Sty or option #5 USB Flasher.
A: Yes, it does show up in my computer in the "Safe to remove" section when plugged in during option 4 USB Mass Storage and option 5 USB Flasher. The phone also recognizes that it has been connected to the computer while in the USB Flasher mode, so I'm still able to flash other ROMS.
I hope this helps you diagnose the problem. Thanks again for your help.

Ok from what you told me you still have working data connection via your micro USB portcon your HD2. The no USB in the white barcode bootloader could probably be fixed by downloading and installing the most recent version of ActiveSync or WMDC from Microsoft, depending on which Windows your computer uses. Those programs contain USB drivers for Windows Mobile devices. But that is just for data transfer not for power transfer.
It kinda sounds like you maybe, and I stress maybe have some problems with the power pins on your HD2. If you have access to a multimeter you could pull your battery outand plug your charger into your HD2 and test from the positive pin to the negative pin (look at the battery to tell which is which) to see if you are getting voltage to the battery.
My best suggestion to you is to flash a Windows Mobile ROM to your HD2 and see if it is charging then. If it does charge you know your micro USB port is working, if it does not charge you have a faulty USB.port. Download and install the above mentioned ActiveSync or WMDC to regain your HTC USN sync while in bootloader.
Hi Mr_Pickles did you ever find a solution to your problem, im having the same issue with my HD2
Yes, I had exactly the same issue. Think it is Window7 related. Found myself a PC with XP, installed active sync 4.5 and solved it

Problem with usb connection

Hi guys ,my problem is that when I connect my phone via USB cable at first there is no problem, data transfer , windows mobile device center, everything is OK. But when I want to flash the phone pressing vol-down + switch on/off keys the phone is not connected to the PC. And I can't flash it. Also the phone wouldn't like charge trough the charger ,only with the data cable. Is it possible to have any liaison between the problem with charging with charger and no-connection when try to flash.
Also my phone was to the service for touch-screen change ,is it possible the technician make any mistake ? Cause I think that if he make a mistake with the connector nothing gonna work ,but it works at different situations.
Regards!
check to be sure USB SYNC driver installed correctly and also try a different usb cable.
I'll try but there is no logic ,the cable works when charge the phone, works when is connected to device manager but doesn't works when flashing ?
exactly. the device requires different drivers.
1. there is internet sharing and disk mode (which works with all computers, because those drivers are in the operating system)
2. then there is one driver for syncing
3. and another one for flashing
it is not the same kind of data transfer, which is why you need a different driver. but the thread "[tut] updating htc sync drivers" should cover all your windows vista/7 driver needs and a tutorial on how to install them, which in case of a x64 system can be fairly complicated.
if you already have hspl installed (which you can determine by entering bootloader mode and looking whether it says 1.56Olinex), you can also flash using the sd car method. put a rom of your choice on the sd card, name in BLACIMG.nbh and enter bootloader mode, you will be presented with options to flash the rom.
Ok, but in instructions at the thread you give me is written that I have to start making the steps after I see "USB" on the flashing screen. But I don't see it, it's only "Serial". And now what ? I know that if on the screen i written "USB" the phone and the computer are connected and there is no problem to flash ,but now what ?
well, before you start, put your device into bootloader mode. it will show "serial", then connect it to the pc. test your connection using mtty 1.42 (you'll find several download options here in the forum).
the connection settings for mtty are USB 115200-8-1-No-NONE-None
if it works, connect and press enter, the command shell should show USB> then.
if usb is not present in the connection settings, your connection is not established yet. proceed with the tutorial then. during the entire procedure, the device should remain connected to the pc in bootloader mode, so you install the driver for the right device state.
Hello,
I've problem something like this. Few months ago when i was conecting my phone to computer was everything OK, activesync, disk drive, but now nothing, just charging the phone. I've tryed everything in USB to pc zone, but nothing. When i'm going to bootloader it's writen serial. What can be here?
since you already tried all the different connection methods and even bootloader mode does not connect, there are hardly any options left, where the trouble could be:
- the usb port on the blackstone
- the usb port on the pc
- the cable
you can try another port on the pc (or even better, another pc altogether) and/or another cable, like from a digital camera, an external hdd... (many devices have mini usb cables, you should be able to use either one of those)

[Q] USB Automatically Disconnecting after two sec.

I am not able to connect my phone to my pc using data cable neither in Download mode nor in Power on.
The problem is that USB disconnecting automatically after two sec, and windows was unable to recognize it.
I tried connecting Another phone using the same data cable and pc, it worked fine, it was GTS 5830i.
is there any way to solve this issue?
please help me.
What operating system are you using?
For example in Windows 8.1 you need to do the following
Download USB drivers (see my firmware thread link in signature or at top of dev section)
Right click the setup file
Click properties
Select compatibility tab
Select run this programme in compatibility mode for
Select windows xp sp3
Select apply
Run the setup
It will now run & install
Note any other operating system just run the setup normally
Now plug your phone in via usb
Now plug in any other USB devices eg a wireless mouse dongle
Windows 8.1 will now recognise the device
I am using windows 7 ultimate.
By saying im able to connect other phone to the Pc, I mean all USB Drivers are
Correctly installed.
I think its a issue related to my phone, us there any settings to change? Like *#7284%?

Check to make sure there is no dirt and debris in the USB connection on phone - you might want to clean it with cleaning solution (whilst the phone is off)
Other than that you can flash stock rom via odin to make sure there are no software problems with phone
There's no settings as far as I know that will stop USB connecting unless you have deliberately looked for & changed something relating to it but I can't think of anything
Well I am not able to connect to odin.
Now i use a custom Rom i just want to install original rom using odin.
i tried cleaning USB port,

If you have
Installed the USB drivers
Using Odin version 3.07
The firmware from my firmware thread
Using rear USB ports if on pc
Put the phone into download mode (Vol down home button power button)
Pressed Vol up in download mode to start connection
Then the only thing left is a hardware fault or user error - both of which I can't support here
