Desire 820S Lollipop backup - Desire 820 General

It appears that the older Desire 820S 4.4.4 devices will never be updated to lollipop, but since newer ones have lollipop out of the box is it possible to create a CWM,TWRP or SP flash tool flashable file from the newer devices' backup and update our old 820S to lollipop?

[OTA] XT1033 5.1 Brazilian Lollipop

Lets go guys! The 5.1 are here. (Dual sim brazilian lollipop)
LINK --> https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bwray3U603G8UnhxVEtadzJHaDQ/view?usp=sharing
1- Check if you are in the 5.02 Brazilian version (System Version 220.21.28.falcon_umtsds.Brasil.en.BR). If you are, good! You're on the right way. If not... you have to flash the firmware of this version with this tutorial (PS: Without do the 4.1 and 4.3 parts and do this only if your bootloader is unlocked)
2- Download the file above and put in the root of your internal storage.
OR
2.1- Go to bootloader mode, choose recovery option. Once in recovery option, you'll see NOTHING. Don't worry, press the power button and click in Volume +. Will appear some options, choose "apply update from Sd Card" (or anything like that).
3- Your phone will reboot and you will get the 5.1 Brazilian Lollipop
4- BE HAPPY!
If there any modifications to the system paste (Root, xposed, any system app removed) won't work. You have to be on a 'clean' stock version.
Bye!

?!!?! I don't know what you're thinking, but the ota is to XT1033 not to xt1032
I have a xt1033 (Lollipop 5.0.2) with unlocked bootloader and custom recovery (Philz touch). Can I just flash this file through recovery?
@marcelmira man, i don't know. Try it. If you have any modification on system archives, will give error. Is recommended to you a clean rom, without any modification (recovery, kernel, root...)

Upgrade stock 34.3.A.0.252 to Oreo or downgrade it to root

Hi guys,
I just received my xperia X compact and i would like to root it, I saw one thread explaining how to root it from Oreo (https://forum.xda-developers.com/x-compact/how-to/stock-8-0-root-recovery-t3747479) but unfortunately my phone CDA is 1305-2001 (Generic LAM) and the Oreo upgrade is not available i'm stuck in 34.3.A.0.252 (checked on XperiFirm and software upgrade)
What's the best way to root my phone ?
I was wondering if i can directly flash the Oreo firmware (https://forum.xda-developers.com/x-compact/how-to/android-8-0-0-oreo-released-xperia-x-t3745129) then root it ? Would it work ? (I don't have TA backup)
Or maybe use this guide (https://forum.xda-developers.com/x-compact/how-to/guide-root-custom-kernel-clean-rom-ta-x-t3583183) to downgrade my phone (again shall i just flash an old firmware from stock ?) and made a TA backup ?
Thanks a lot !

you can pretty much take your pick. If it was me, I would flash an ftf from Flashtool of latest version, (even if not the region you want), then root with rootkernel method. Having a different region fw shouldn't affect anything.
