Happy you are satisfied, I am as well. How did you obtain the James Bond theme and videos? Did you enter a code into Xperia Lounge, What's New or were they simply listed there when you first powered on the phone?

Good to hear your experience! I'm starting to feel that those people complaining are either 1) very unlucky and had a faulty unit, 2) fan boys coming from another manufacturer or 3) nitpickers who want to see the fault in every device.

It's my first Sony smartphone and i'm really happy with mine, it's true that whatever you buy there are people unhappy, some people just like to moan some are genuinely unlucky with dodgy units, mine is good really good, only grumble is the 2 day battery life thing that's a bit optimistic imo

Nice comparison.
Always impressed by the speed of iOS's browser against Android's, but I believe that's due the flash-support in Android's browser ( ads and stuff )
Very good. I have both phones but use the Arc as my primary. For me Android, with widgets, proper file-management and ability of doing things with the phone without always having to asking Job's permission, will always be a hug advantage. And now with the Arc, that is as fast as the iPhone and has an even bigger screen it is a total win. I'm not saying Android or the Arc are fault-free, but they're pretty damn good, both of them!
Cheers/M
How do you have an arc? They've not released it yet have they?

Sweden always has stuff from Sony Ericsson before any other country, and many review samples have been distributed.
Indeed, mine is a prototype. Have had it for a month now and still very very satisfied. Especially in view of the price ;-)

It's not that the battery's quality is not good, it all depends on the processor and the applications used.
remember that Android has true multi-task, so many applications are running in the background. Unlike iOS which closes everything to save battery.
2.2 and 2.3 seems to work well in terms of using less power .
Howz the battery consumption of arc compared to x10?

I have the Arc. I have no idea why that person's phone is slow. I certainly don't have that issue.
And yes I also have an iphone 4, which i have happily handed over to my wife.
I honestly believe the Arc is hands-down the best phone you can get right now.
And please don't bring up samsung phones. Their build quality is crap. To be honest, Arc's build quality is still not up to Nokia or Apple levels but its a lot better than Samsung and good enough for me.
agree. after resetting my arc, it became lightening fast. I don't know what was wrong, but I am in love with it now.
I'm not so sure apples build quality is that much better. I dropped my iPhone 4 from about 3 feet and the screen cracked. My x10 got kicked, yes kicked about ten feet. I put it back together and it worked fine. Just a little dent in the corner

Apple build quality is generally pretty poor. Their cases hold up physically really well (you rarely see them actually falling apart even after serious abuse) but the reliability of their electronics is shocking - i've lost count of the number of friends that have sent ipods/iphones back, and dont get me started on their headphones - i think they last about 6 months per pair. The plus side is that they do tend to replace faulty kit pretty rapidly without question.
I think people convince themselves apple kit is well built because, hey, they must be paying all that extra money for *something*, right? Kind of like how if you tell someone a bottle of wine is expensive they will prefer the taste to the same bottle if you told them it was cheap.

Spread a lil happiness

Ok, this isn't about taking away from people who are having genuine problems.

GPS works and locks and sticks to route .
WiFi as good as SGS1
Battery no problems .
Screen no problems .
Sounds excellent though i can understand thats it not much good if you want to distort the sounds with extreme treble or base .

Hi, good phone, no real problems just slight weak wifi
Absolutely no problems here. Only gripe I have with phone at the moment is the game selection. But Live Holdem Poker works and thats the only one I play daily.

I don't know if the battery could be better but besides that this is an impressive phone. After you use this for a couple of days it is very hard to look back !!!
Pretty much everything is great for me. TW took a little time to get used to but it's been a solid experience
had this phone for a few weeks now and after my much loved hero, this is in a different league! if you dont have it, do sumthin to get it, you will not be dissappointed
Im loving my phone. Feels great in the hand. Doesnt feel too light! The screen is the finest screen ive seen on any smartphone. The blacks are just that. Ive not noticed any wifi strength issues at all. Call quality is very clear. Voice commands work impressively well. No reception issues.
I can also confirm that i am getting approximately 32 hours of normal everyday use out of one charge. Which i believe to be very impressive.
Luckily i can say ive not had a single issue that others have reported.
Best phone I've ever owned (came from G1 to Desire to this)
Thanks for the effort peeps interesting to see a couple of names from bug threads still rate the phone. Its a shame about how few came on tho, leads me to think that either
a) the phone sucks, don't believe that personally. Iv had a couple of sessions on it now in phones4u and cpw n love it.
b) people prefer to be negative than positive, this I can believe.
c) most have been happy enough with it to not bother coming to this forum
d) people don't want to comment knowing some **** will either bash them about being a noob or use the new favorite and call them a troll

I'll keep it short. I love this phone, its awesome. Its not perfect (a perfect phone will probably never exist) but I'm happier with this than I was with my SG1. I may even go as far to say that I'm more excited with this phone than I was when I got my first Nexus One. (the N1 was a huge upgrade for me, and my first real switch to android)
I don't have any serious problems, and haven't been disapointed in any way. My GF has a brand new HTC Inspire, and I would love to throw that away and get her one of these.
My setup is in my sig.

[Review] Centralization Review of the HTC one

Do you want to tell everyone your thoughts about your HTC One? Well, this is the place to do it. Any reviews which are posted in their own thread will be closed and copied into this thread instead.
As always, when posting in here all forum rules apply as well as the rules posted below
Moderator Notice
After having a discussion, we have decided to reopen this thread once again. To make sure this thread stays open this time around there are a couple of guidelines we expect you all to stick to.
*No off topic/irrelevant conversations
*No asking questions which could be found from a simple search OR better suited to a separate thread in the Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum
*No direct phone comparisons (just as set forth by the rules for our section). Comparing features such as camera/audio quality etc. is fine but no directly comparing the HTC One to the SGS5 for example
The above reasons were what caused this thread to be closed last time so hopefully it won't happen this time around.
I just loved the photos of the device itself
Ill be collecting the reviews as well in the mega thread, thanks
They are also complaining that the speakers are too loud lol
The camera photos look awesome as well

I love both HTC and Sony but I am not biased to either OEM.
Not sure they are claiming the XZ screen is better, the way i took it is that when you first see the XZ there is a wow factor, but then after actually looking at it and using it, you come to realise that it isn't up to scratch. I reckon that's what he means by the "breathtaking impression"
Just my opinion though
A mate of mine was 100% set for the Z until he saw the HTC One now he all is over that like a rash!

I do wish people would quote accurately from reviews. What the dial-a-phone guy actually says is
The 4.7-inch super LCD 3 screen may not be as bright and dazzling as that of the Sony Xperia Z but still offers a clarity that is pretty much unmatched amongst mobile devices.
Click to collapse
"Bright and dazzling" could simply be a reference to maximum screen brightness, or it could be that he likes over-saturated colours and is a fan of the Xperia's Bravia processing.
I'm skeptical of that Dialaphone review. He says some of your apps may be "tucked away further then you'd like" because of the BlinkFeed stuff, which is completely incorrect. Just don't use BlinkFeed for God's sake. Set another default screen (which he says is possible) and never look at it again. I just cannot understand that argument or how he thinks the Xperia Z's screen is better when every other hands-on, preview, write up, etc about the One says that it has the best display. Same goes for the tinny speakers, that is the first I've heard of them being tinny.

After reading through the review and watching the video, the way he presents it definitely makes it sound like he thinks the Xperia Z's screen is better. He doesn't even reference viewing angles which should be a huge part of a screen review and we know the One outperforms the Z in that area. Plus, as a reviewer, he should make his opinion clearer. If he is insinuating that he only likes the Z's screen because it is brighter, he should say that or at least give a clear indication to what he prefers (in this case, I took it as the Z's).
And what he actually says about the speakers is
Those stereo speakers we mentioned earlier also increase the handset’s abilities, although their use is limited. The HTC One struggles to produce low frequencies and we don’t imagine these will ever truly replace headphones or external speakers.
Click to collapse
That's perfectly fair: you shouldn't expect deep bass from speakers that size. (But he doesn't use the word "tinny").
He does in the video review.

Oh, okay.
i do find it interesting what each review says about the battery.
The fact neither give any sort of details like brightness and wifi on off, 4g on off etc..etc...
Benchmark seems very impressed while dialaphone seemed dissapointed that it wouldnt last a whole day,
yet mentions several hours of streaming music and heavy usage.
If the phone lasted pretty much whole day on that kind of usage i will be chuffed. Means the way i use my phone
i will get 2 days out of it easy. (or i might just change my habbits and keep wifi and full brightness on because i could )

Very much enjoyed your review. Thanks.
Nice review, I was in the same boat as you. Got bored of tinkering with custom ROMs (had SGS, SGS2) that never actually had real stability and claimed performance. After some time, lag became too much of a pain, apps would crash, the phone would often become unresponsive...
One is, in my opinion, a mixture of iphone and the best of android. Really lag free OS, fast, stable, nice features, great build, looks, etc.
Good write up but wayyyy too many italicized words.

mee too. so sad
Love the review.
Only thing I disagree with is the camera. I think the One camera is absolutely bonkers when it comes to capturing detail (In a good way). The only thing the SGS4 will have is in good light, stuff in the background will be able to be zoomed in on. I personally prefer the One camera in every picture and video comparison i've seen.
Have to say, the Sgs4 is the biggest samsung let down for me since the SGS2 which was the best smartphone i'd ever used and it absolutely blew me away, even more so than the One has.
The update from the Sgs3 is simply not worth it. The design is worse, the build quality is worse, the phone gets far too hot, far too quickly, it's laggy, and the screen is such a massive let down. I couldn't believe how underwhelmed I felt trying out the SGS4.
HTC One is by far the best phone out, and will probably be the only phone, EVER, that I will manage to keep for the life of a contract, let alone the one month I normally keep phones before swapping them.

Thanks! And yeah, I neglected to mention this aspect of the camera, but that's very true.
Nice article. I mostly agree with you about everything but the ROM. I don't really like the stock ROM. I think the ARHD ROM is more stable and doesn't sacrifice any important features of the stock ROM.

Front and backcamera are horrible.
The wifi range is damn low
The phone is gettin hot pretty fast
Multi-tasking doesnt work sometimes (sometimes I get fc, when I listen to music while browsin for an example)
Love mine. No problems, just a few minor bugs (wifi is weak, led bar no worky in stamina mode)
Mme so u like this phone but not 100%...i really don't care about camera... Mmm I have to think a bit before buy it
Thanks a lot people!
Wait for the update before you buy the phone.. the poor wifi and camera need a serious fix, if this doesn't happen I don't advice anyone to buy the phone.
I bought mine only a few days ago and I'm blown away by the bang for your money. It's a great mid range phone that feels high quality. Even on 4.1.2, the device feels really smooth and fluid to use. Plays games really well, Robocop, Real racing, injustice all play great.
Battery life is really good with stamina mode active. The sony UI is not floaty and quite a few of the bundles apps can be uninstalled without even rooting. Rooting is easy as pie, takes a few mins with 1 app.

the z1 mini will blow this out of the water, but don't forget that the z1 mini is a flagship almost and this is a midrange, if you can afford it go for the z1 mini other wise the sp is more than great. i got mine for free on a 2yr contract with a 100$ gift card. this phone competes with quad core flagships and in some ways out performs them like frame rate and battery. the only thing i don't like is the long wait till 4.3 and 4.4 other wise the camera is ok you just have to play with the settings. the light bar is EPIC people always stop and ask me what phone im using, its really cool. it never gets hot for me and never lags the biggest complaint is that it docent come with too many case option and accessories other wise this phone is superb id recommend it, feel free to pm if you have any questions

It's a good phone. But the software need to be improved.
The memory management is very, very bad... If you are listen the music and open the Internet Browser probably the software will kill the music app.
The appdraw is frequently "redrawing".
You wont have a lot of Custom ROM (however there are good Custom ROM like eXistenZ).
Anyway it is a good phone.
If I were to buy a new phone today in the same range price I would of Moto G.
my sp c5303 doesn't have any of the wi-fi issues i keep reading here, maybe it's fixed on newer devices? i got mine in last november
I like it very much but the main problem which I face is the touch problem.
If that is solved then its great
