UK Launch pushed back a few days - BlackBerry Priv

It appears that the UK release which was today is now 13/11 for CPW. Although on the Blackberry page it says they will be sent from 9/11 so assume this will be for 13/11 also. Maybe just some inconsistent messages.
I think I am going to wait to see the physical device in the flesh (in the CPW). I am wondering whether the price may drop a couple of weeks after launch too. I really like the looks of the device and the features - especially the security, but I'm not getting a feeling that there is an awful lot of hype around it at present. And this usually means the price will fall quickly too!
I was thinking of buying online and using the Blackberry 30 day returns offer but couldn't actually find the terms of this!
Anyone seen any other news on when it will actually be available?

I pre-ordered one from CPW the first day you could a few weeks back and received a text/SMS stating that they are having national stock issues so it would not be arriving now until Fri. 13th Nov. (So a week delay). Disappointed seeing as I pre-ordered even before it had hit their website (I called and paid over the phone for it), guessing the delay is from BlackBerry though not CPW but still annoying!

I pre-ordered direct from Blackberry and I just got an email saying that the Priv "shipping process" starts today. Not "shipping" just "shipping process", which is an interesting distinction. It also states that I'll be getting a "complimentary PRIV slide-out hard shell case and a premium in-vehicle charger" too. While not saying so outright the tone of the email and the freebie offer suggests to me that they might be expecting at least minor delays. Given how they phrased it from the outset I wouldn't have expected it to arrive till Monday at the earliest. If they are having UK stock issues they may well prioritise their own orders first.

Agree. CPW at lunchtime confirmed Weds at best for first orders to come into the shop and pre order delivery.

Blackberry has never been good at launch supply chain management.

They probably didn't gauge the demand properly

Anyone knows if Priv will be available in white or some other colors? I think i've seen pictures of white model somewhere..

There were a few renders of a white one, and when Louks showed the Priv off the first time at MWC earlier this year, one was white and one was black. I would love one in white, except then the name is even worse. "Hey, I got my white Priv here."

Feedback? Do you like it?

Loving it! Came with about 45% battery out of the box, so set my android account recovering (117 apps to install! Lol) and left to charge, once that was done used yesterday all evening and got about 4 hours screen on time before draining battery to 0% by about 11pm. So far today had minimal use, maybe 45 mins in total as working, down to 77% battery now.
General notes: Screen is beautiful, pin sharp, videos look great. The keyboard is ace, defo. a little slower at typing on it than the onscreen one for now, sure I'll speed up as I use it more but what I really love is being able to use the keyboard as a trackpad, scrolling, etc.
I have a Moto 360 so get a lot of notifications that way which helps with battery life on the phone but do like that the Priv is similar to the Moto X Play (my last phone) in that when notifications come up the screen doesn't fully wake, saving battery life
Took a few snaps with camera, pretty good. Outdoor shot in overcast conditions gave good results, lots of detail.
In conclusion, happy with my purchase. Definitely recommend the Priv so far

Moto drops the ball again!!!

Have anyone other than me receive notification that their Xoom shipped yesterday Oct 6 to be delivered today Oct 7 before 10:30 and nothing arrived?
I called Fedex and they say the box never shipped. I called Moto and they say there is a delay but they don't know if it shipped or not but if it ships today I'll get it Monday. Friggin Monday?
So looks like anyone whose Xoom was supposed to ship out yesterday might be waiting by the door for a Fedex delivery that will not come. Needless to say I'm pissed. Why send notification of a shipment if it doesn't go out.
These people need to get their act together. Not only do we get half arsed fixes for the SD write problem but the way too long wait for the LTE upgrade gets fracked up as well. Never thought I'd have to go two weekends without my Xoom when I sent it in.
I had the same problem with the Xoom Box they sent me. They said it would ship thursday and arrive friday but it didn't come until monday. I think their Fedex pickup isn't bringing enough trucks to handle all of the Xooms.
It is just typical in a long line of incompetence from them with the LTE upgrade. Every step of the way, they managed to mess it up, so I guess we should have expected this part to be a mess as well. I'm traveling all next week, and now I guess I need to prepare to take a trip without my Xoom
Wow, they must've got overwhelmed. I agree they've dropped the ball repeatedly in the past but this process was so smooth for me.
Sent my Xoom out on Monday, got it back Thursday.

BS. My product is from Motorola, my repair was ordered from a Motorola site for an upgrade promised by Motorola. I don't give a damn who they outsource this to, for all I care, the Queen of England is doing it - Motorola has final responsibility for how this is handled and just like the promise of "LTE in a few weeks" back in February, this too is being botched. People don't only play Angry Birds on these tablets, some of us need them for work.
OK well I shipped mine and my wife's out last Friday. Got them both back Thurs. Was yours sent out Friday? If not then Monday would be in the 6 business day turn around. I use mine for work every day. So maybe fedex didn't pickup like they should have. Is that moto's fault too? Go buy an Ipad if your gonna be like that! That way you can complain about no flash! Just do like my wife did.....look out the window every time a truck passes. Mine said it shipped Monday night. Of course I really didn't think that was true.

Mine was sent out Friday as well.
You weren't rooted were you? It could also be they ran out of free docks and held it for that too. I was expecting Monday myself, but then I got the email with no tracking and it showed up Thursday. Still it isn't a motor issue. It's cidt can't handle the amount of work they took on or fedex just didn't pick up. More than likely fedex didn't pick up. They messed up the tracking for the return boxes Friday. At least be thankful fedex runs on holidays like Monday.

Moto may be disappointing a lot of folks for a lot of reasons, but your posts really pin you as the center of the universe. Take a friggin number and get in line like everyone else!
Is waiting one extra day that bad? I mean really in the grand scheme of things, is 1 day going to screw you over? If you are a business owner that relies on the Xoom, I understand. If you have your notes and homework on your xoom, I understand. But if you simply use the thing to play on the interwebs, are you really that pissed?
Hate to say it but the company they have doing this has shipment issues they do a lot more then just your xoom upgrades. A one day delay isnt the end of the world.

This isn't about a one day delay - it is that the upgrade was completed on Wednesday and has been stuck on "shipping soon" since then. And if it doesn't ship today, I won't have it till Tuesday at the earliest. When a product is repaired, and it sits doing nothing for three days, it is pretty safe to say that somewhere in the process is a major flaw.

I agree wholeheartedly...I remember when the world only had pencil and paper for work,etc. Now all the world is filled with entitled grumps who don't get exactly what they want, when they want it...so much instant gratification these days...wah wah wah my xoom spent an extra night away from home to have minor surgery to get on the worlds fastest mobile network...suck it up and stop wasting thread space to post one person's inconvenience...everyone has had a package come late before but we don't all post brand new threads to complain....

Motorola dropped the ball!!!!
Well I guess I can join the club, my Xoom was shipped on Monday of this week. The upgrade was completed on Wednesday I received an e-mail from Motorola with the tracking number from Federal Express stating that it would be shipped Thursday to arrive by 10:30 AM Friday, today. When it didn't come in I called Motorola who then told me that my tablet was in transit and that I should call Federal Express. According to Federal Express Motorola never shipped the device and that I needed to call Motorola back. So I call Motorola only to have them read the same thing to me over again stating that it was shipped only when I insisted that it had not shipped did they actually open a ticket for me, and right now they're in the process of trying to locate my device. So I am in total agreement MOTOROLA DROPPED THE BALL!!!!
Actually found out fedex stopped shipping in alot of areas yesterday. I went in to ship a package over night today and the lady said it was good I didn't try to ship it yesterday. They had a major outage again.

Affordable Mobiles Orders

Thought to start a thread for those of us that have ordered from their website.
I ordered a Black One last week via uSwitch. The £30 upfront fee has been deducted(not sure if they deduct straight away when ordering) on 02.04 and T-Mo have done their in and out of £2. When I called yesterday I was told that they will send an email before they ship, which I am still waiting for. They also said that they were expecting stock in yesterday, but I assume that was BS as their facebook page is saying next week in many instances.
I've spoken to them twice today and in the morning I was told stock will be in either today or tomorrow and in the afternoon they told me that they've received an email from HTC saying the delivery has been delayed till next week and they're looking at Tuesday (9th) or Wednesday (10th) for posting the handsets at the earliest.
Called tmobile direct to see if they can match the pricing but won't budge from £26pm for the tariff and £170 for the handset up front which is ridiculous.
Will just have to sit back and wait now.
That really sucks. Will just have to be patient I suppose. Not too worried about waiting another week I suppose it will arrive One day
Ordered on 23rd March, they informed me that they would have a stock update today (6th). Got shipping email last night for 24 hr delivery, so should be here today!! Can't wait!
Ordered my black One Thursday night 10pm. Friday 5th they received silver but no black. Apparently they are getting both in on Monday 8th.
My case had came, just no phone yet. They said I am getting the media link so all is well.
T-Mobile £26 a month. £30 upfront for the phone, except I got £40 cash back which has already been confirmed .

Just rang them up. They have only received the silver One's today and apparently they have a lot more orders for the silver than the black. They should be receiving the Black One's tomorrow it Wednesday. Just hope they have enough stock to ship my order.

Well I took the plunge and signed up to the £26 T-Mobile deal and 29.99 upfront because it seemed such a good deal! Not to mention the HTC media thing (if I get one!)
Got all the way to the end and it said I'd been referred and the number on the refer page didn't ring / nobody answered. Then got 2 missed calls from a T-Mobile 0845 number and haven't heard anything since! No emails either.
Emailed the [email protected] address and had a standard email saying about credit checks might delay orders and rang t-mobile and they have no record of anything so I'm in limbo-land! I guess I got somewhere because I had the 2 missed calls but not had anything since!
Here's hoping that everything goes through and there's little delay!
Ordered my silver one on the 28th and it arrived this morning with no sign of any media link. Spoke to them via Facebook and they said they had run out of media links as they were limited. However, I have read they others have received this that ordered after me, so not a happy bunny as you can imagine.

They had better have one for me. I called specifically to confirm that I would be getting one as it did not show when i pre-ordered and they said that I would be. I cancelled my 02.03.13 order on MPD because this was marginally cheaper AND they were giving the Media Link free. If I dont get it I will be p....ed, and they will hear all about it.
I called Buy Mobile Phones today to ask if it were likely that I'd receive a black One sooner if I were to order with them now rather than keep my order with Affordable Mobiles.
He said that they both share the same stock pool, which is interesting as both companies have different addresses, though both are A1 Comms. I asked if they had ever received black handsets, to which he replied that they had, but they were sent back due to a quality issue.
The main reason I called is that BMP have a customer area and they answer the phone a lot quicker than AM! I don't know if BMP have priority though, being the parent company.
I read on Facebook that Mobile Phones Direct are emailing all waiting customers daily, no matter how small the news. Goes a long way though!

Affordable Mobiles nightmare
I avoided Affordable Mobiles this year after an horrendous episode with them last year. Basically even after confirming my cancellation for a One X, they went ahead and allowed a contract with three to complete, it took me weeks to get things sorted and never received any sort of apology. I've always got phones online through these type of resellers but this year I went straight into one of my local three stores, ten minutes later walked out with a new HTC One Silver.
The reason I did this was after googling how to dismantle the htc one, I learned that it's virtually impossible to repair the phone screen. I can only imagine the trouble I would have with the likes of Affordable Mobiles in trying to get a repair. Was assured by three that the phone would not be sent away if repair was needed but would be replaced. That sealed the deal for me.
Had mine 10 days now and it's awesome. I would advise avoiding the double dip official flip case, it's awful.
I hope you all enjoy your new phones when they arrive

Nope, I order it 27 Evening, and until today my status says preparation in progress, and before 10 minutes JUST ARRIVED with Royal Mail!!!
Ordered 32g version on Tuesday afternoon and received it Friday afternoon.
Got the 'shipped' email a few hours before the postman delivered it.
I chose free (Royal Mail) shipping so can't complain with a 3-day service.
I ordered mine Saturday evening and it arrived today. Granted, I paid the 10euro surcharge for faster delivery.
was out of stock when i ordered but it got dispatched at 3am on friday and delivered at 10am on monday - free royal mail delivery.

Yes, I received it yesterday, on monday.
It is really a great mobil phone and feels unbelievable valuable.
I am really sure that I made the right choice for me.
However, I have a problem with the screen, a group of six dead pixels, and I leave the country in a few days
for one month and don't have much time to make a replacement.
I contacted the support and they are willing to exchange the phone under warranty when I'm back,
not mainly because of the number of dead pixels, but also because they are located so near to each other.
So..the support is also very nice.
I'm sure that I want to stay with the Find 5.

I'm considering moving to the Oppo from the HTC One mainly because of the sheer number and variety of QC issues arising with the One. However, I'm now concerned to hear of dead pixels with the Oppo so is QC an issue here as well?!

No dead pixels on mine and, having read a few articles on the oppo find 5 both on these forums and other web pages, I've not heard anybody else mention anything about dead pixels/QC issues. Maybe just a one off and very unfortunate for the above member.

Only seen the odd report but it's reassuring to know you can get it replaced under warranty. Bit of a hassle of course but every product has some detective units.

Motorola phoned me... 32gb phones delayed

Just got a phone call from Motorola (on A Sunday!)
They said that due to parts shortages for 32gb Moto X (2014), that even though they've started building my X already, it will be delayed even more and should ship on 10/17.
This is ridiculous. I ordered the darn phone on 9/16, and now it won't even ship until a full month after I paid for it. I'd be just slightly less bitter about the delays if they hadn't charged my credit card on 9/16.
As an apology for the delay they're giving me $25 site credit on the Motorola site. A small gesture that does little to ease the frustration over the whole ordering process fit this phone.
I'm in the same boat. I ordered mine on the 17th and now doesn't ship until the 17th.
ugh, thanks for the update. Moto X 1st gen was like this (I got tired of waiting for the dev edition and just got the AT&T one). With all the customization options I guess supply chain is a bit more complex and tougher to manage?
Either way, I can't seem to get a moto X without having to compromise. This time, I *really* wanted to avoid the carrier tramp-stamps and bloatware, so I went for the pure edition. I have to have 32GB. Tried to pick a black front, but was told it wasn't an option! I do like the look of the white though, so i went for that - but was told there's a delay on white front phones. And now the 32gbs are delayed as well? Ugh.
Anyways, I *just* placed the order today (10/5), and was told it should ship on 10/24. Sad. From what I've seen though, people get their orders shipped earlier than promised.. here's hoping! I ultimately ended up ordering a white front, black leather back, with dark grey trim.

Go onto Motorola owners forum and complain there.
I did that and i finally got some help. Phones not getting here any earlier, but i did get some solid answers as too when i would be getting my phone. For the past two weeks Motorola has told me 10 different stories from Sunday. One of the reps told me that i would get a $25 credit. I told her that i didn't want a credit and that i wanted my PHONES! SO it went up to $60. I told her the same thing again. Then it went up too $100.....needless to say, i held them to it!
That's what they get when EVERY single one of the reps has broken English and reads a script.
My phone has been "built" and waiting for fedex to pick it up for more than two weeks.
Totally ridiculous.

Ordered mine on 9/26 and it was in my hand on 10/02. Verizon, 32gb. Black front, navy blue leather, orange trim.
I'm waiting on ordering my white front 32gb from Verizon until I start hearing that these phones are being assembled and shipped regularly.
Got the same phone call. Ordered a Pure Edition 32GB, black front, ebony back, no engraving on 9/16. Original ship date was 10/13. Got the call yesterday that it was pushed to 10/17.

It seems like it's just luck of the draw. I ordered a verizon version, and it shipped more than a week early.
This whole Verizon/Motorla process has been the biggest pain.
I'm on day 3 waiting to hear if they fixed my shipping address and whether or not the order actually processed. I'm getting conflicting results vs what I'm being told such as the fact that the charge is on my card and the PIN says it's been used already...
My struggle
I've been stalking a number of forums concerning the delay in shipping....from what I've gathered 32GB's with engraving have been the worst of the offenders. Adding to that delay is the white front. Quite a few folks ordered a 32GB without engraving the same date and nearly the same time (some sooner, some later in the day) as I did...and they received phones last week. I think engraving slowed my order and the they became low in stock with the 32GB.....
Yeah, I was silly enough to order engraving.
I ordered my 32GB Verizon on 9/28. On 9/29, I decided I wanted leather and asked Moto if I could still change it to upgrade. I was told the phone was already built and that it was waiting to be delivered to the warehouse. Why are you delivering a built phone to a warehouse and not to me? And my expected delivery date is still 10/23.

At&t order status

Dudes what's good? I pre ordered the note sept 19. When are we supposed to receive the phone? Any one got a clue? The web site says ship date 14-16 but is that date the day I'm supposed to get it or the day they put it on the mail? Confuseeed waited sooo long

Thats the date it is supposed to leave AT&T's possession. Depending on what shipping option you have, will depend on what day you receive it. IF you have the 2nd day FedEx, you should get it on the 16th (latest).
HOWEVER, there is a shipping date range. So if they ship it on the 16th, you will not get it until Monday the 20th. In addition, there has been a report (I have only seen 1 of these reports, but there could be more) of AT&T sedning emails that their shipping may be delayed due to shortage. Due to the lack of others not reporting this email (including me) and I am not so sure it is delayed for most people. Since TMO is shipping already, it is very possible that the AT&T has them in stock already and is prepping them to go out.
So the final answer to your question is ... I don't know, and neither does anyone else. The next few days is all we can say.
The earliest estimated ship date is the 14th. That's when they will hand them over to Fedex, UPS, etc. The phone doesn't officially release on AT&T until the 17th.
I was told I should have mine by Thurs. According to AT&T customer service. I ordered on first day of preorder and mine says estimate shipping 14th to 16th . Rep said it will ship out Tue. I'm not expecting until Friday honestly. However ,I got my preordered Note 1 on Thurs when it was was released in store on Friday . Crossing fingers!

Lol after nearly almost a month and att encourages to wait a bit more hahaha, sure teaching us how to be patient. Im quite desperate since im stuck at the moment with a galaxy note i717 tht has a cracked screen, mad slow, extreme wake lock issues, sometimes screen wont respond to the touch, lol after all I did had to change the glass about 2 times and I accidentally overheated the bottom part which also left a mark. Still works though lol. By the way it has tape all over the screen to keep the shattered glass from cutting me haha.

Man this blows, I've seen online that several TMO customers already had their phones delivered today and are in possession of them while we lowly AT&T customers who preordered on day one don't even have them mail out yet

Never fear, it could be worse. Yes, TMo get it today, but we are at least second. Verizon isn't until next week, and the UK missed their release and got it moved back to Friday with ours. Ours could be the smoothest.. maybe.
Anyone hear of the shipment yet? Status on AT&T's site is the same for me "preparing for shipment" with a date of 14-16th for the estimated shipping date.
