MXPE quality - MotoMaker vs. Amazon vs. BestBuy - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have read here and elsewhere that some of the common complaints about the MXPE are battery doesn't last long, yellow tint on the screen, 808 running hot, laggy screen response, jerky scrolling, etc.. Not saying these are really issues, just saying these are some of the things I've read about here or elsewhere.
I'm curious if these things appear to be equally common across MotoMaker, Amazon, and BestBuy sourced phones or if, for example, Motomaker phones are more prone to these issues.
In other words, are the chances of getting an MXPE 'with issues' any different with one that was pulled off the line for MotoMaker customization than with one that came from a large batch of the same configuration intended for Amazon or BestBuy?
Thoughts?
Thanks!

From the experiences I've read it seems like early motomaker editions were more likely to have a faulty speaker. That's about it.

you have to remember that most people come to the forums to complain rather than to praise.
My MXPE is perfect!

MotoMaker phone here. None of the above mentioned problems, and the only annoyances I have aren't really worth crying over.
1. If Moto Display isn't active, when pressing the lock button to wake the phone, sometimes there's this blue-ish glitch thing going on near the bottom of the screen for a fraction of a second.
2. The motor that controls the vibrating feels lose? I don't even know if that's an actual problem or not, just not used to it compared to other phones. Vibration feels different.

Amazon 32gb here. My only issue is slight light bleed in one spot and the occasional studder when scrolling from Google now back to a home screen. My battery is a tank (really good life), the phone runs cool, screen color is great.

^I can echo all aspects from above. When it's a dark room how much light bleed is reasonable? It comes from the lower left side.

I don't care much for customizization from Moto.
Picked up the 16GB from BB today, and pretty happy with it so far.

Got a total of 4 phones from Amazon, 3 of them had yellow tint screen..
Phones are black 16gb x2 and black 32gb x2

Got mine from Moto Maker with a really crappy display panel. Had a light white spot in the upper right quadrant and about three areas where light bleed was visible. I think you will find this across the board. It doesn't do Motorola any good to assemble custom devices for people that are faulty. You would think they would have better quality control, but they are Chinese owned now, and that usually means bad things to come. I am getting a replacement but I will be interested to see how much better it will be. If it is much better then time will tell how well it holds up and lasts. If it turns out that it doesn't hold up very well then it will be the last device I buy from Motorola. It's too bad because they used to be very rock solid. The Droid Razr that I have that is 4+ years old has less light bleed than this new Moto X Pure. My Galaxy S4 has none whatsoever, of course it's AMOLED. We will see how the next device turns out. If it sucks too, I will report back.

Have the same light white spot on the right upper corner also i got it from BesBuy 16gb Black

There was no light white spot when i first got it , it become apparent after the 14 days past. So i couldn't even go and exchange. So im gonna try to call Motorola see what they can do.

Wow that doesn't bode well. My worry is that I want to unlock the boot loader and root. I can just see Motorola trying to say that the unlock has caused the issue and refuse my claim. I know unlocking voids your warranty but I have heard from a few that Motorola will still accept the claim if it is a physical failure not related to software. I just don't trust it. If they burn me then I will never buy Moto again. I just hope I get a solid replacement device with no white spots and minimal light bleed. I would like a perfect display but at this price, it might not be possible. it seems some are lucky enough to receive one free of light bleed, but I think many more have moderate to serious light bleed. To me that is poor quality control on the part of Motorola(Lenovo). Should have my replacement buy Thursday and I will report back on it's quality.

Its doesn't show good in the camera but in real life its bothering.

Here one more maybe it shows better, the first one i had from best buy had a black dust stuck in between the screen and the gorilla glass right in the middle of the screen like a black dust not dead pixel.

To me that looks like the lcd is being pinched is it in a case?

No its not in the case, I think its being pinched also maybe there is a screw right on that spot, but i dont wanna open the back to see.

Not sure if you want to deal with Motorola and RMA but you might be able to get another phone...I had the same problem but mine was easily solvable. It was the case causing it, and that's getting replaced.

I would suggest asking for someone higher when on the phone and also try the Motorola forum and see if you can get some help there

Amazon 32 Gb here, aside from somewhat of a rattly volume toggle, no problems so far.

Mine was exactly the same so I think whatever is in that spot is pressing against the screen. I immediately contacted Motorola and initiated an RMA which worked perfectly. They sent me the RMA within one hour and I received a code to build a new phone about 45 minutes after that. I ordered the new one the same day I RMA'd the faulty one. Calling Moto is a PITA, they are Indian and some have heavy accents which makes it hard to understand them. Their headsets absolutely suck, they sound way too loud and their voice just sounds like a bunch of noise. I have resorted to using the chat instead and that pisses me off less. In any case I can't complain about the RMA process, it has gone well so far. My new phone should be here Wednesday. We will see how that one looks. Hopefully something in their manufacturing hasn't gone wrong causing these phones to have that spot. There was a few others on Reddit reporting the same problem and it's always the upper right quadrant.

I think its gonna be the same, they all are the same way manufacturing, i was at best buy today and i saw the display model had the same thing on the same side upper right white spot. Im guessing maybe the wanted to put the nitrification light there lol?

Already onto my 2nd Hero. Dead pixels et al

Folks,
After complaining to T-mobile UK about the gap at the top of my G2's screen and a couple of dead pixels (see thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=542534) they kindly sent me another within 3 days. Unfortunately though this one has no gap (thanks) there are now 3 noticable dead pixels on the screen (most noticable on startup at t-mobile splash screen).
I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem and get a bead on what others are doing about it. Problem is now I have already had a swap out these guys are now saying the policy is to bring the phone into a t-mobile store and have it sent off to be checked which to me is TOTALLY unreasonable as the handset is supposed to be brand new.. ARRRGGGHH!!! Am I just being REALLY over the top? Should I just have to put up with the dead pixels??
i suppose it really does just depend on how bad they are.
I know you would just be on the edge of HTC's policy on pixels...they usually won't touch anything under four unless they're really obvious
Hmm.. Well there is one which is REALLY noticable during the startup and less so during operation. The other two are not quite as obvious during startup and practically invisible during normal ops. Thing I really want to know is whether or not this is common among users of this phone and they are just living with it as it doesn't really affect the use of the phone or is it just me that this is happening with?
People. If any of you are out there especially if you are on a UK t-mobile contract could you please try switching off your phone then switching it on and check you screen while the splash screen loads and see if you notice any dead pixels or see if you can get a black background and check.
I would be reluctant but prepared to put up with this if it were something which was the norm for the majority of new G2 handsets and really dont want to keep swapping my phone only for the dead pixels to be more noticable on the replacement. I guess it's just a peace of mind in numbers thing.
with current LCD technology, the odd dead pixel here and there is fairly normal, but thankfully not as wide spread as it used to be.
I've not seen any on the ones i have seen, and never had a dead pixel on the HTC built devices i have personally owned (going back to 2003/4), although my one and only PSP, which i bought the day it was released, had a crap load of them and was sold very soon afterwards!
I don't think it is particularly widespread to be honest, but there will always be one or two devices in a run that get a dodgy pixel or two.
have you checked the market to see if there is a pixel conditioning app? I'm sure i saw one somewhere. They don't always work, but it cant hurt to try...sometimes they come unstuck after a while.
oh, and i also have a t-mobile one. None on mine.
Dude.. Fortunately the only guy responding to this post is a guy who is being as helpful as you I can;t say I am even aware that pixel conditioning apps exist.. I'll have a look.
be lucky, i'm actually in a good mood at the moment! i guess it's the prescription painkillers i'm on (legitimately i might add...i'm not some sort of addict) overriding my natural hatred and grumpiness of being at work on a weekend....god bless opiates!
i've already pissed someone here off this morning before they kicked in!!
I bought a sim free Hero from Mobilefun. I'm now on my THIRD Hero due to replacing the last 2. The current one and first didn't have any screen issues but the second one did. As soon as i swithced it on, big bright spots. Sent it back straight away of course, as this is unacceptable.
The current one has a minor cosmetic flaw but I'm keeping it this time
Don't worry about being OTT about this. You pay a lot of money, you want something top notch.
Edit: Incidentally, Mobilefun customer service is the best I've experienced. Both handsets were replaced and in the palm of my hand again within 48 hours!

I have a t-mobile contract hero, I can't see any dead pixels on the splash screen.
There is a tiny gap at the top (ie you can see some copper if you hold it at the right angle to a bright light, but It seems to be the same as all around the rest of the screen and so it doesn't really worry me.
Dude.. As far as the gap in the screen goes there SHOULDN'T be one. I had one on the last handset and changed mine. As I explained this one has some dead pixels but the gap is gone. I repeat it should NOT be there. All manner of dust and debri will eventually get stuck in there and on the underside of the display I am sure. If you can change it I certainly would. I think I will be attempting to change mine again (sigh)
definitely should not be a gap.
my first one does not have one, i'm waiting to see what the state of the second one is when i get home this afternoon. i hope it's ok.
I have a dead pixel as well in the top left corner but it's only noticeable on the startup screen so I don't mind. It's actually quite common with LCDs, my girlfriends iPhone has a couple and I've had phones in the past with some. You can google nearly any phone and find people dead pixels..palm pre, iphone 3gs, blackberry etc. You can return it but then you run the risk of getting a phone with other issues or more dead pixels.
my HTC Hero has 3 dead pixels but they dont bother me at all .

You know i thought i had dead pixels at startup under the hero word, but when i loaded a pixel fixer app to check the dead pixes by cycleing different colours on the screen nothing showed im convinced the start up animation is glitched and makes it look like dead pixels!! get the app and check!!
I have a dead pixel too and mailed to the company from where i bought it. I mean, did pay a lot of money for it, 440€, so i expect a device wich has no dead pixels or gaps at all!! .
Let you know how things go.
cheers
I have 3 dead pixels on the startup screen one in the very top right. I don't notice them when the phone is in normal operation. if I get anymore I will be tempted to send. it back.

Sorry, now back to the topic....
second g2 arrived and no gap or dead pixels on that one either.
Right, I've decided to ring T mobile about replacing my Hero due to the gap. Will it be an issue that it's more than 7 days since I recieved my phone?
T-Mobile will usually try and be funny with anyone requesting the return of a handset after 7 days but just stick to your guns.. The item is faulty but not instantly noticable. If you catch the rigt person you will be ok.. Just try calling back a few times if necessary. I think half the time I get stuff from them I because i hassle them so much.
By the way.. Can anyone recommend a good pixel testing/fixing app??

Brand new SGS2, screen defect

I just took delivery of my SGS2 yesterday, and I gotta say I absolutely love this phone. Coming from an LG eXpo with WinMo 6.5 and never having used Android, it doesn't even feel like a phone. Plus with all the easy integration with my Google accounts, I've never had a smoother transition to a new device before. All this makes it all the more difficult for me to have to send it back...
I'm not sure if anyone else has encountered this problem, but it looks like my phone came pre-packaged with burn in or something in the form of a dark circle near the upper right side of my screen. I've attached some photos of what it looks like.
I noticed this abnormality in the first 10 minutes or so of using the phone while looking at some photos on my Picasa account. I almost feel like this phone could have been a refurb unit, or the screen was reused or something. In fact, there appears to be more substantial burn in than I can photograph, as there are several other places where I can see strange distortions. Most, if not all, only show up when the brightness is less than 100%. I'd thought maybe it was some widget that caused the burn in, but I haven't been able to figure out which one it could be.
Anywho, I've already arranged an RMA thru Expansys-USA, and they did so without even asking any questions after my email with photos of the problem. So far I've received amazing support from Expansys-USA and definitely recommend them. Also going to see if I can request a replacement sent before I send back this one so I won't be without a phone during the shipping time, something they mention is possible in the RMA email (though they do charge you for it, to be refunded once they get the defective unit back and inspect it).
Would be interesting to see if anyone else has this problem. If there's already another post on this subject, sorry about this new one... didn't see any when I searched tho.
I can see the same thing on mine if I put it on the lowest brightness setting and display a grey image. Nowhere near as pronounced as on yours though, have to really really look for it, so can't be arsed to do anything about it.
Interesting that it's a perfect circle though, could it be just above the CPU or something?
Nope, haven't got that circle on mine at all.
Maybe an assembly worker lost their wedding ring, lol...
You'll be fine, it's an RMA for sure!
Defo a faulty phone

I believe that mark is from the vacuum suction cup on the assembly line from the automated machine that handles positioning the display component. It technically should disappear over time, but I don't know how long.
I don't think it's the CPU, though to be honest I'm not sure where it is under the screen. There is that odd gold-colored sensor or whatever under that area, I think.
If it's a wedding ring, maybe this phone's worth more than the sticker price! haha
Vacuum cup huh... that's pretty bad if it's damaging the screen while doing that. I don't want to wait and see if it will disappear. If I do wait and it doesn't go away I'll be out $725 on a phone with a screen that'll constantly bug me.
Kinda funny, as I was looking at the photos I attached, I saw two rings... one in the photo, and the real one. Startled me when I first saw it.
I didnt have the same problem as you but i had line banding or something on my one.. i had to replace it 4 times then noticed it overheated+smell coming from it.. so i just returned it and got my money back.
Just be aware that you might get another faulty phone.. If i was you i would wait till it comes out in the US.
That sucks, and it's not good that other people are having some issues as well. Good to hear that Expansys is honoring their agreements though
This is why I don't import anymore

Man, that's really unlucky! Knock on wood, I hope I don't get another bad one. However I'm not sure waiting will do me much good. History has shown me that branded devices tend to have a lot of crap on them and lack certain features at times, and I don't have as much time as I used to to keep up with the scene to make the phone operate better all the time. Also, I'm contract-free with unlimited data on AT&T, and I don't like being locked into contracts. This isn't my first non-US phone, though. I'm happy to pay the extra money so long as it means I don't have to sign a contract.

From the Expansys-USA thread, sounds like they'll ship the phone back to the UK to have it serviced for you if it ever goes bad. This doesn't sound uncommon, either, as I've had a friend here ship his JP Xbox 360 back to Japan to have it serviced (with a another friend's JP address), and another friend in Japan had his laptop sent back here to have it serviced. Also, there's always the chance a non-import one will be bad, too. Luck of the draw, I guess, and perhaps early-adopter woes. lol
Got my replacement on Saturday, been playing with it ever since to see if I could find any further problems. Definitely no circle this time around, and some of the vertical banding I saw on my old phone in the notification screen is gone, but now has some very slight horizontal banding. Not a deal-breaker tho, so this one's staying with me. Also, hard to tell but I think the yellow/dark left screen problem is present, but so slight I can barely detect it if it's there and not a trick of the eye.
Gotta thank Expansys-USA for their great customer service. I'll definitely order from them again.

I would have it exchanged for another if you can. I had mine exchanged, but since I went with the cheap option the whole ordeal took almost a month (slow shipping). My replacement doesn't have a defect, but it's possible I have the yellow tint problem others have been reporting. I don't see it tho, and if it's there it doesn't bother me.

What is the difference between the GT-N7000 and the N7000

Guys,
I ordered a N7000 a few days ago. I noticed today that the N7000 dropped by $25 (from $700 to $675) and another version the GT-N7000 is also being sold for $15 more. What is the difference between these two as I Googled but cant find anything definitive? Thanks in advance for the feedback.
Hmmm, i would also want to know...

Edit: On Samsung's site it says GT-N7000, so i just think that some people only call it the N7000.

I was wondering if maybe it was a slightly different model. IN the end the code names are close enough I guess.
I think they're one and the same, the only difference is they omitted the "GT" part.
I ordered the "N7000" from Amazon, on the actual product it states "GT-N7000"
It might be regional thing but its the same, my box has GT-N7000.. I believe this is just a coding for samsung like the SGH-I9100 and on some parts its GT-I9100
Bump..
Does anyone know the difference? It's April 2012, and they still have price differences. I ordered 3 so far, and all of them had the screen tinting issue. (Screen tint changes from green to red from time to time when I'm perfectly holding it still.)
I don't know if I should take my chances and try the more expensive GT-N7000 labeled ones. I think all of the ones I ordered so far was marked as N7000.

that's just bad luck. the only thing common should be the pink tint when taking pictures on 100% pure white backgrounds.
NO difference there are one device. They just omitted the GT. Its GT-N7000. "GT" is a family in Samsung's phone's lineup.
Now, why there is a price difference that I wouldn't know. Maybe one is open box or refurbished or something,,,,,

Both are sold as new on Amazon (fullfilled by Amazon), but I never seen one completely sealed.
I don't know if I should try it one more time from a different seller in Amazon, but same fullfilled by amazon. Returns are easy, but I just hate that I'm spending so much time on finding the one without screen issues. I don't notice it during the day so I finish setting up everything, and then before I go to bed, that's when I find out the screen tints changing in the dark even with all automatic brightness and color stuff disabled.

Yes, I have seen several new Note with screen issues (first batch with free flip cover). The good thing is, if you get the screen replaced at Samsung Service Center, the replacement has better quality.

Camera Fault, Haze + Creaking

I'm not sure whether any other people have had this but it seems like there could be a fault with some of the camera on some devices (or just mine?).
I preordered and received my z2 on the 22nd april, my sister just bought one today and I was comparing the two - it definitely seems like the new one captures photos far better where sunlight is concerned, it looks like there's an area of haze/overexposure on my one - I've attached photos to illustrate.
The ones with the i's on the end of the file name are with my z2, the ones without are with the new one - both were taken with superior auto from almost exactly the same position and at the same time with exactly the same settings and both on the same firmware.
Also does anyone else's device creak when you push a little on the back just above the sony logo?
I've had the creaking from day one and hasn't affected the waterproofing or anything so I was just going to live with it, but now I've noticed the camera thing I'm going to try and get an exchange.

This is a dumb question but are you sure your lens isn't smudged?

I was hoping it was something trivial as that but unfortunately not, I made sure the lens the clean - used a microfibre cloth etc even checked the lens for scratches and it's clean. I had a screen protector on the back and took that off to make sure it wasn't somehow distorting the light into the lens but it didn't make a difference.
May I ask whether you have any creaking on your device?

Oh that must suck then And I don't have a Z2 yet, I'm looking to get it or the M8 in early June
Camera is working fine for me. Although I also have the creaking when pushing at the back.

maybe your camera is experiencing light leakage. definitely a problem
That's the kind of photos I got when water entered my Xperia Z.
Have you been washing it ?
It might be moisture built up, but can't say
Why not get it replaced?

It took a dunking last week lol but I can't see any moisture build up on the inside of the lens, maybe it is just light leakage. I'll just phone up for an exchange tomorrow - shame really because it had no other issues. Great phone though, looks like they've sorted out any other issues on the current batches.
Cheers for all your replies!
The creaking is what makes me think your device wasn't manufactured that good. Mine is as solid as a piece of metal. The camera doesn't have the haziness either so phone it in for a replacement because it shouldn't be a big problem to get a new one.
If you could slide out the "plastic paper" beside your sd slot and see what it says it would probably point us on when your phone was manufactured - should be something like "14W1*" where * stands for the week number

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, my sisters z2 doesn't creak either. Mine says 14W15 so I guess that means it was one of the first batches (maybe second batch?)
Hopefully the replacement won't have any issues, I'm slightly concerned about dead pixels etc
Interesting to see your photos, I have the same problem with mine.
I'll have to see if I can get it replaced I guess.

Somebody pointed out in another thread, this haze can be caused by a case, especially if you are using flash.
In my case, I have a clear gel case which could easily cause light to reflect into the lens area.
Will test properly tomorrow.

That's interesting, kinda like the flash bleed issues on z1 compacts I read about I guess.
Although in this case I wasn't using the flash on either of the Z2's and they were both naked, even took the screen protector off the back of the phones to make sure it wasn't being caused by those (I had cut a square out of them for the flash/lens already though) and there was no change - one Z2 looked fine, the other not so much.
Thing is if my sister hadn't picked up a Z2 of her own I'd never have known, I just thought this was normal behaviour - at least the thread has made others aware of a possible problem (if mine wasn't just a one off)
I got my replacement Z2, and it creaks A LOT. It's W19, it's going back to the store tomorrow. My first one has bad speaker quality (W28). If I get a third, I'm returning and I'm going to another phone. I shouldn't have to go through 3 Z2s to get a decent one, but if my third one has something wrong, I'm done. Sony has a GORGEOUS phone and an awesome build, but I can't stand this anymore. Last one tomorrow, and we'll see.
looks like one of them has HDR enabled. check that. is there any condensation on the lens?

Hey,i have the exact same creaking issue!I thought i was the only one.I took it to the Service Center and the guy at the counter acknowledged the issue and said ill get a replacement and removed my sim card and memory card etc and only then i realized they cant provide a standby phone so i said ill come back later and submit the phone for replacement.
Later the SONY Store where i bought the phone from provided me a standby phone and they itself submitted my Z2 to the service center but few days later they returned the phone saying there isn't any issue :X i took it up with their customer care and they asked me to go to the service center again but i haven't got the time yet.
My batch number is 14W18,what is yours?
I checked some test pieces at the SONY Store and they had a similar issue but i checked again at another store and they seemed fine -_-

I have the same flash bleed issue on all the cases including the OEM ones provided by SONY.
ew..i have the creaking issue too.. its creaking when i put my finger below the flash...
I'm having the same issue as well. Every picture I take now, especially in brighter conditions, is hazy and somewhat blurry. I never tried my phone under water, but I can see something that wasn't there before. If I angle the phone, I can see that behind the back lens there is something like a smudge (similar to when the lens is dirty, but on the inside). Is it dried water from condensation or what? I talked to Sony centre via chat and they told me to send it to them. Problem is, the issue is too minor to be seen. I don't want to be told that it's fine and to pay for my phone to be sent back.
What did you guys end up doing? It's a shame. Pictures used to look beautiful. Now, even in good light, there' all mediocre and washed out.
Edit: I actually tried it in water while hot, it condensed and then it cleared up. Looking at it again, it seems that this haze comes from another layer of the cover lens. But it's not like a scratch, it's more like a badly applied screen protector, with air bubbles in it. I attached a picture of it, if anyone has any idea what it could be.

Its not 100% sure that this is affecting Z2. No one complained by now.

Is anyone else's turbo black nylon making a cracking noise on the back?

I just received my 64 GB Black Nylon from vzw.com and after taking it out of the packaging, the back had been making a cracking noise when I press down, especially on the bottom by the droid logo. I'm assuming it's because there's a space between the nylon and the internals? Possibly wasn't glued correctly? Will it go away? I don't know if this warrants getting a replacement though, but I don't want something to happen in the future and then get stuck with a CLN Device

Mine isn't making any noise. Can you see the back giving in when you press down on it? I'd report it to be on the safe side.
Mine is rock solid. You should get it swapped

Not making any noise on mine.
lol, I can actually replicate that sound. I think its because the logo thingy is probably just glued on there. It aint a Ferrari, It a Camaro.. that stuff is going to happen
---------- Post added at 10:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:19 PM ----------
You have to press on the "DR" the "OID" will not make the sound
I have the red one and mine does it when I clean off the back. Just sounds like when you press on somthing glued or taped down. I think there is probably just a layer of glue in there that is sticking and unsticking. I dont think its somthing to be concerned over. It doesnt visibly move and I dont think it would ever fully unstick. It might even go away after the phone heats and cools a few times.
Part of the wireless charging coil is adhered to the back of the case. I suspect that you are hearing some adhesive making weak contact and then snapping away after you release pressure. Like a touching a piece of packing tape on a smooth surface and then pulling it off.
Mine is making the sound on the droid logo at the bottom. I'm just gunna go into the store and have them replace it. A customer should be 100% satisfied. It absolutely warrants an exchange if you are still in the 14 day return period. I'll go into Verizon tomorrow and let you guys know if they exchange my device.

mine does it too. i may have started the whole online chatter about this because i was posting about it immediately after i bought mine last week thursday. i took this video and shared it with a motorola rep and they seem to think its a defect, but the guy at the verizon store (who was a total ****) said it was normal.
I have the same noise as well, right when you press on the "DR" like others stated. I also have a similar noise that happens when I pick up the phone; It seems to be focused towards the bottom sides of the phone. This particular issue didn't happen the first few days I had the phone (got it on release day) but I do notice it now. Just a very slight "creak" noise.
I am wondering how the nylon is applied to the back of the phone and how far it tucks in under the soft touch border. Maybe that is just how the nylon is and it may make noise where it meets other materials since it is not completely flat and there is some texture to it.

I agree, but I would be careful. There have been a few horror stories with people trying to exchange devices. You might end up with a much worse problem and Verizon giving you crap for wanting to exchange again.
Here is one case of this http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/general/4-days-3-droid-turbos-journey-verizon-t2929086
It sounds like the ballistic nylon models have a slightly different problem than what I'm hearing with mine, specifically around the droid logo at the bottom. But I know on mine its just a very minor thing that only happens if your pushing around. If its not affecting the operation of the phone or falling apart it might not be worth the hassle.
