impossible to copy apps to the folder system / app or flash zips - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

Hello guys,
I can't copy any app to system/app, nor command in the terminal or with apps from playstore. And I can't flash any zip because after flash and reboot, Android starts a kind of recovery and deletes any changes the zip did.
I'm using the latest stable version of MIUI7
Any solution?

[Q] How do I install TWRP Recovery?

I've problems installing CM11 and a user recommended me this but i dont know how to intall it :/ help?
Download the recovery
Save it to wherever you want.
Make sure the image name is recovery.img, rename if needed.
Download any root file manager, which can mount and show hidden folders.
Mount /.cust_backup as rw.
Copy and replace recovery.img from SD card to /.cust_backup/image/recovery.img
there's no /.cust_backup on my phone :/ do you know any other way to install google apps without flashing it?

Do you have a /cust folder? If yes that's the same as /.cust_backup.

Install it any way
5. When finish go to download folder and extract the second attachment to /sdcard/

Last time I tried it only works on 5.0.2 unless kingroot updated and now you can do 5.1.1 too
Confirmed
Tested and worked for Xperia z1 lollipop 5.1.1 fw. 368
Worked for me.
First link was deleted by google. I tried with the kingroot apk from their site, but it didn't work with that.
EDIT: strange, it did work over Mobile data but not over WiFi. I am now considering you my personal God.

already root with pre-root zip but i wanna try this method, can you mirror kingroot file? because i cant access that file , thanks in advanced.
When I try to put in sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh it says that the directory doesn't exist. I know it does though. Should I rename my sd card to sdcard? or is there something I'm missing?

Are you using the internal memory, or the external one? If you are using the external, and extracted the zip file there, you need to enter the path on sdcard1. So it's: sh /sdcard1/mrw/root.sh

Ah ok. I read SD card as SD card. Didn't realize he meant internal. I ran it, and it kept coming up with errors that kingroot stopped working. Is that what it is supposed to do? Also now that i have SU on it ( I assume) what next? do I need a specific rom for these? IE I have a telus phone so should I look for a international rom or can I flash any? LOL I am fairly new at Root, and only flashed an HTC M8 but not really sure how to go about the z1. Also is it safe to uninstall kingroot? Sorry and thanks.

R u sure you rooted?
1. Download official twrp
dl.twrp.me/shamrock
2. Flash twrp
3. Download SuperSU BETA Zip and flash
4. Reboot
5. Download RootExplorer 4.0.1 and install
6. Grant SU Shell Access for RootExplorer
Try Now.
Hello again
Thnx for answer..
İ think the problem is file system.. As you know gm5 plus using Squashfs file system. because of that we cant changce r/w permission for this file system. Only option is using custom rom.

Please Wait. Our Team is bringing CyanogenMod 13.0 for your device please wait.
We are at the end of success.
Give a chance like.
Take full system backup
Then copy system backup to your PC
Rename system.squashfs.win to system.ext4.win
As well as if system.squashfs.win* exists rename as same.
Format your system partition as ext4 using twrp.
Copy the system.ext4.win to your mobile and restore the backup.
Try this method.

You cant r/w system because GM 5 Plus uses squashfs file system. Squashfs cant r/w it can only ro. You can flash systemless root and xposed.

Hey there,
AirAudio has been kicked by Google because they didn't like a link to a rooting-website inside the description anymore, written 7 years ago.
Its successor is called AirMusic and allows to stream some apps (eg. YouTube, YT Music, Deezer, PodcastAddict , radio.de, Plex and more, you have to try it out) without root on Android 10+.
On rooted devices, all audio can be transmitted.

Bloatware?

Okay so recently I have rooted my E4 (Sprint) and can't seem to uninstall system apps. It comes with face book and all that other Sprint bloat. But when i use an app to try to uninstall them, they just stay there. Any help? I'm currently rooted with magisk 13.3 and have xposed installed along with busy box.
install root explorer app and try manually deleting apps (/system/app) (/system/priv-app)
This will work for sure
I mentioned this here https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e4/how-to/how-to-disable-bloat-wear-qualcomm-t3655452

Any way of doing this without a PC? I'm currently away from home and need something mobile
What app are you using to remove the apps? Titanium Backup? I've had TBU not uninstall some apps for whatever reason, but link2sd was able to remove apps. Might want to try it.
I've noticed some of the apps that are carrier installed are in the oem folder, deleted them and problem solved. This was on a metro PCS variant.
This is the oem folder, I used FX file explorer.

I have the Sprint version but when I try to erase any app from those folders the device freezes
It was freezing on me when I was using root explorer pro, that's why I ended up switching to FX. Also when you rooted your device did you do a wipe and then flash noverity and then su because if you didn't do the wipe your phone might still be encrypted and it won't allow you to modify system folders.

I can't get it to work with FX either. It just freezes the phone. I don't get why it works for you.

You could try deleting them in the file browser on twrp
That is how I had said I to do it in the thread I started explaining how to do it. This users problem is they can't find the option to mount the OEM folder in twrp to be able to see the contents in the file manager to edit it.

I formatted the system, flashed magisk then noverity
In order to make it work for me I had to format data in twrp then reboot twrp and then flash noverity first then your root of choice and then it worked.
I REALLY don't want to format again only to find out it may not work..

Yes, always. But you need root to change the permissions of the app.
Just root and use file explorer to copy apps to system/app or system/priv-app and set permissions.
