Hi folks,
Recently I bought a Asus ZF-6 model T00G with:
Firmware: WW_a600cg-WW_user_1.17.40.16xxxxxxxxx
When I try to update with the next firmware from ASUS WEBSITE, the Android causes an ERROR and stop.
Once, I Brick the Android system, after hours searching solution I get wake up again.
My phone has Jelly Bean now, NUT I want to know if exist one process (SECURITY) to update a Zenfone 6 to Lolipop OR Marshmallow.

hello friends... i have a question, i running cm 13 in my zenfone 2 ZE551MIL.
I have backup from my original rom in my SD card,without root, if i restore this bakcup using TWRP restore tab,can im install asus updates via OTA like a origial Lock bootloader? I intend to back to original rom for update to android 6.0 when asus launch it . Thanks!!!:good:
First things first, you posted your inquiry in the wrong forum. This is the ZenFone 2 Laser variant's forum, whereas your model falls under the general forum, ZenFone 2.
If you DID NOT UNLOCK your device USING the provided ASUS Unlock Tool, you would be able to receive OTA updates as per normal. Recovering your device from a previous backup, or from the full ROM provided on the ASUS support site would not change anything with regards to the receiving of the OTA updates for your device.
With that being said, I highly doubt so Android 6.0 would be available via OTA when it comes out. The previous ASUS phone that I owned, namely, the ZenFone 5 LTE, had to flash the update to Android 5.0 manually instead. The OTA update came out months later.

Just seen that Asus has updated Frimware on 09 Nov. Seems like nobody started discussion about the same.
Here are details:
Description ASUS ZenFone 2=ZE551ML(Z00AD/Z00ADA/Z00ADB/Z00ADC) software Image: V4.21.40.184 for WW SKU only* (andriod M)
Improvement Item:
1)Improve system stability
2)Improve bluetooth stability
3)Improve ZenMotion related issue
Steps of Update:
1. Check software version of your device**
2. Download device software and Update SOP (From “Manual” Item)
3. Only apply to same SKU update, Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, .
4. Software update cannot transfer the software SKU and downgrade the software version.
5. Wrong SKU may cause update failure, please update the same SKU version only.

This firmware seem to finally solve battery drain. As for now, it seems the best I had on my ZF2. Very recommended!
I am using since from last couple of days, its smooth everything just working perfectly fine

i have rooted allmy devices, my zenfone was rooted until upgrade to MM, but now im having seriuos headache rooting marsmallow, bricked my phon two or three times

Hi! I've had my tablet that was running on Android 6.0. Wanted to root but came to the conclusion I needed to downgrade to Lollipop in order to do this. I've searched everywhere on the web to no avail and finally came across this post that's actually in these forums & thought I give this a shot.
I managed to use this method to downgrade my ZenPad Z580C (P01M) from 6.0 to 5.0. But, now I've just noticed the .raw file that was supplied is more likely for the Z580CA (P01MA) model. Is it possible to flash my tablet with correct firmware from Asus for my model Z580C (P01M)?

Go to Asus official website and download the firmware from there. After downloading is completed, a notification will pop up that system detects a new update. Now you have to press the OK button and then your device will restart and your update process will begin. Just wait for completion. After completion, your device will now upgraded to lollipop.

Now look for firmware option in that website. ( for more information look at the screenshot below).
After clicking the firmware option, now search for " Version*WW-2.22.40.540 (kitkat,MR11.3) ". And click on download button. It will upgrade your device to KitKat version.
First upgrade it to KitKat. And then you can upgrade it to lollipop version. Direct upgrade to lollipop is not possible.
Now after upgrading to KitKat version. Go to Asus website and click on firmware option again.
Now search for " Version*WW_3.24.40.87(Andriod L) " and download it. Now it will upgrade your device from KitKat to lollipop version.
In this way you can upgrade it to lollipop version. You have to download two zip files, one is for upgrading to KitKat and another one is for upgrading it to lollipop. See the screenshots below for more information. O hope that it will help you out. If not, then PM me.
Asus started to rollout pie update for max pro m2 but also it rolled back the update after many users reported several bugs. Since then it's been two weeks but i haven't received any further update yet. Has, anyone received the pie update in India again after the rollback.

The new update has been released man. Wait for it or manually update by downloading zip file from official asus website

My Device is still on Android Oreo!
I've downloaded new update firmware (1.6GB) from official site & when trying to update it gives ERROR and restarts into Oreo.
Then I try after Editing the "updater-script" but the result is same.
