Just saw this device on phone arena , any feedback on whether the bootloader is locked and if the device can be rooted? I have never owned a device from this manufacturer.

With Flyme the phone come pre-rooted, I don't know where it is in Flyme 5 so I can't really tell you (I've a MX4 which hasn't been updated yet), but in the settings app you can root it
Settings, fingerprint and security, root permission and accept. You will need a Flyme account

For me there is none, just wondering of it is the same on other Redmi Note 7.
ARB seems new to me, I should research more on it and how it affects ROM & kernel flashing.

I confirm: just bricked my phone.
edit: OK. Got the situation sorted with flashing through fastboot following instructions here (complete flash, link below includes links to tools and proper ROM). Need to completely flash the phone but not to lock :

I'm currently attempting to root or downgrade a friends Note 4 (SM-N910F) using Odin/CF Autoroot but not having much success at all.
I have downloaded the boot .md5 file that matches all the system information, and it installs and boots as normal, but when using several root checkers, they all say there is no root access

I was under the impression that this was the XDA developers forum, for samsung galaxy note 4.
In any case i managed to get root access but im having a nightmare getting the right version of TWRP for custom recovery
