[SM g925Z Japan] Will any of these Roms work on the Galaxy s6 Edge SM G925Z version? - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone found a Rom that can run on the Softbank Japanese SM G925Z Model ? 404sc.
Ive searched all over Google, daily, None of them have officially added the g925z version.
If I backup my Rom with TWRP, and try some of these other version roms, can I easily return to my TWRP Backup Stock Rom?
Would it be safe to try any of the other roms posted on this site?
I have a 2 year contract with softbank, so I need a rom that wont lose access to cellular service or wifi connection.
I could live without the fingerprint scanner and the heartrate monitor if Need be.
Third question, most important maybe,
If I do a Backup with TRWP from my Rooted 5.0.2 Stock Rom, can I easy reinstall that backup with TWRP
if I try new 5.0.2 Roms, and the roms have issues? I am not completely sure, because I think you flash the rom with odin, or can you install downloaded roms with TWRP also I assume?
If I try a 5.1.1 rom, I can never return to 5.0.2 roms ? is that also true?
I dont care so much about my knox warrente IF I can swap back to my 5.0.2 Stock rom. at least I know that works.
but I dont want to get stuck with a broken Rom if I can not return easily.

New around here. Some doubts.

Hello.
Ever since I bought a Galaxy Nexus and found XDA, my life changed. Without noticing I got infected a virus: addiction to Android.
My Nexus got outdated quickly and now is pretty done and I need a new toy. 3,5 years later I finally got some spare money to buy a new phone. Since here in Portugal the minimum wage is around 500€ and top flagship phones cost around 700€ (and there's no affordable contract to get something cheaper and still nice), I had to wait until now to get a used Note 3 for 300€.
I love the phone's design and above all the specs. There's no other phone with 3GB RAM and Snap 800 for this price and I always liked big sized phones.
Well, I write too much unnecessary info... I need to stop
Let's get down to the point. I will get the phone tomorrow!!
TL;DR
How do I check the bootloader version? I want to flash TWRP right away and maybe install a Note4/5 port or something stock Android, do I need to be careful with the bootloader?
I know from other phones (i.e LG G2) that any custom rom uses KK bootloader and the stock roms use their respective version bootloader. Is this also true for the Note?
Also, which version of TWRP should I flash? Does it depend on the stock rom version that I have?
Checking if the device has 2.3x GB of available RAM, if Odin and Recovery have their stock aspect and if the S-Pen works is enough to ensure that the Note I'm getting is truly original?
Well, that's all. I'm sorry if I'm asking the same questions everyone does. I'm used to Nexus so I'm afraid of bricking the Note with dumb moves. That's why I am taking my time to read every important thread and asking here some doubts that went into my mind while doing the required reading. I have no warranty (no box nor invoice) so I can't afford to mess up with the new babe
Cheers!

this app will help you confirm your phone.
then you can proceed flashing twrp and supersu, things are so easy for N9005
and Welcome Aboard
Install phone info samsung from playstore. It could tell a lot about your phone.
To make it easy as long as the phone is running with android version 4.4.2 and above you should use twrp 4.4. If 4.3 use the right one for 4.3.

White Note3 do you have? There are several versions made by Samsung.
Regardless of the bootloader on the phone, I recommend using the latest TWRP as the latest TWRP can be used to flash all ROMs and zip files. Find your device from here: https://twrp.me/Devices/
Before moving to custom ROMs, I also recommend installing the latest bootlloader and ROM.
Not sure if your phone still has warranty but if it does, I would not change the ROM or root because doing either may trip the knox counter and void the warranty.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure it has 4.4.x or lollipop. Should I update to any of those versions (just in case it comes with 4.3) first and then install TWRP?

What is the number or version of the latest bootloader?
What is the model # of the phone? There is the n-900t, n9005, n-900w8, etc.
N9005, it's the european unlocked version
The model # is important when asking questions because the AT&T version of the note 3 has a locked bootloader so it's more complicated to flash custom recovery and to get root.
If you want to run custom ROMs, I recommend upgrading to the latest modem and bootloader, install a custom recovery, back up your stock ROM, and try some custom ROMs to see which one you like.
Look for the tar version of TWRP for your phone from here: https://twrp.me/Devices/
You can flash TWRP with Odin.

So, by upgrading to the latest official rom avaiable I'll have the most recent modem and bootloader, right?
Do I need to follow the order you mentioned: modem->bootloader->recovery->backup->croms or can I flash TWRP, backup every partition, flash most recent modem and bootloader (not sure if I can flash a bootloader) and then install croms?
No, only flashing a newer custom ROM won't update your Bootloader and Modem. You will need to flash those files separately via Odin. Then you can flash the custom ROM you want. The order is simple. Get a custom recovery first, TWRP. Then update your Modem and Bootloader. Then wipe the device from TWRP (full wipe, take backup beforehand if you need) and flash the custom ROM of your choice.
Safest way to upgrade the modem and bootloader is via ota update on a completely stock unrooted rom with stock recovery. After the phone is running the latest rom, then start with customization.

I'm from Portugal but the phone is unlocked (no carrier) and they only have firmware for carrier notes... Which one should I download and flash?
Also... with a G2 I flashed a .kdz file (official rom) and ended up with a bricked phone (later fixed via warranty), but I have no warranty in this phone, how can I make sure that the file is safe?
Just check for software updates from your phone.

It says the phone is already at the latest version. I've cleaned framework services and checked again but got the same result.
Try removing the SIM card and moving the date ahead by two days, then try again.

Done that, no update avaiable. Connected to Kies3, no update avaiable.
Is it really in a old version? It's 5.0. Do I really need the latest version to start flashing a recovery?
Also, can I use the recovery without flashing it? I want to check if it works nicely before flashing if it is possible. TWRP can be used to flash any rom right? I'm interested in trying darklord first.
Yes, you can flash recovery without updating. I suggested updating because the update probably deals with the stage fright bug.

Trying to revert back to stock rom N910F

Hey guys,
I'm trying to revert back to the stock rom on my N910F (UK purchase - unlocked) but no matter which firmware I download via Sammobile, it just isn't working! It says "FAILED" on Odin when flashing. The only firmware that seems to work is N910FXXU1COH4_DevBase_alexndr - but this version has constant knox notifications and I'm giving my phone to a family member who doesn't want root or anything because she's not very good with phones, she also wants the stock rom installed only.
Can anybody advise me on where I'm going wrong or the firmware I need to install? Should I attempt 5.0 instead of 5.1? Thanks in advance!

Make absolutely sure you have the proper firmware, (correct country code) and so on..
Also..do you have a custom recovery installed.? IF so, you'll probably need to flash the stock recovery from the OS your needing to revert..after stock recovery is working, then flash the firmware..

Stock android rom?

Hi,
I'm looking for a rom that is clean android such as it doesn't have no bloatware or any pre installed crap with it, similar to how the nexus 6p stock rom is.
Forgive me for my n00by questions lol, but I was also wandering how to completely debrand my S5 as it has all the 02 stuff on it, could I just use a different baseband version stock firmware that isn't related to a network? (If that makes sense) or do I need to stick to the same baseband version of my phone.
Thanks
S5 SM-900F
Android version - 5.0
Baseband version - G900FXXU1BOK5
You have ArrowAOSP rom for a stock rom, aosp features, lollipop 5.1.1 version. No bloatware or pre installed crap, the only pre installed apps will be the one from the gapps package.
I can't help you with the other question, someone else might wanna help you.
Can you link me to a thread or something so I can have a look. I've currently rooted my phone using cf auto root, will I need to use the chain fire method in order for this custom rom to work?
Another option would be the 'btu' firmware that comes pre-installed on Carphone Warehouse devices.....it's a standard stock rom but without the carrier bloat......Just flash, root and TiBu the hell out of it.......
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
I use this debloat script for my BTU ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...pt-galaxy-cleaner-lollipop-debloater-t3156010
So just to be clear, I can flash any baseband version, as long as it relates to my device?

Samsung s4 GT-19507

Hey guys I was given this phone and it's full of bloatware I can't uninstall (running android 5.0.1). I noticed the model number of this specific type of s4 was only released in australia with optus/virgin? I have read other parts of the forum trying to find out if it is safe to put a custom rom on the phone, but all links are dead to files needed. Can anyone out there point me to a custom rom not full of bloatware that will work on this model phone? Also I have read there will be problem with the modem aswell if I do flash a custom rom on it.

Are we talking about TouchWiz custom ROMs or normal custom ROMs?
I don't know if TouchWiz custom ROMs will work, but this should work on your model.

What custom ROM for SM-910S with Exynos5433?

I just bought a Samsung Note 4 SM-N910S. I thought is with Snapdragon, but CPU-Z says it's with Exynos5433. Which custom ROM should I use and what recovery mode?
I've searched for Samsung drivers, but couldn't find any that work.
Android version is 6.01.
Help?
Well, I found my own answer regarding Samsung Android drivers. The only version that works is 1.5.30.
Now I'll install TWRP 3.0.2.0 and then I'll try MIUI 7.

TWRP 3.0.2.0 failed to install, even though Odin said „PASS!”, so I installed PhilZ. Then I installed MIUI 7 and eRobot, but on start both gave the same error: Kernel not being SEenforced.
Now I'm searching for a kernel that is SEenforced.
I'm downloading Sweet ROM 17.1 with kernel SE enforced....
Well, my hopes that 910C ROMs will work with 910S Exynos variant were shattered. So, I'm back to stock ROM 6.0.1. I will root it and remove KNOX (I don't care about warranty anyway) and try to remove as much bloatware as possible. I wish I knew how to build a custom ROM...
I've installed 6.0.1 using Odin 3.x. Next comes root!
I wish there was a custom ROM for SM-N910S...
The ROM from SK Telekom sux!!! I've rooted the phone and tried to remove all the bloatware, but I was unsuccessful, resulting into unusable ROM.
I've found a tutorial to install a debloated stock ROM from SM-N910C based on android 5.1.1 which is a much better option than the original ROM. Not to mention the permission levels for 6.0.1 are messed up really bad, imho.

Just a friendly reminder : make a full backup before installing any ROM.
I think.....if you have modem file of 910S, you can try to flash custom ROM for 910C/H and the flashed your modem, and maybe it will work.
I'm on 910H, and that is the trick that we use to flash 910C ROM.
but please explore xda some more, maybe someone already tried it and succeed/failed.
@cacingbesar: I don't care about backups on phones, because I don't have any important data on them. The only thing I backup is the contact list.
Moving on with my saga...
I was thinking that maybe there's a way of converting my SM-N910S to SM-N910C, because at HW they are basically the same so I've started searching the net and found an interesting video on youtube on an indian guy who did just that on 5.1.1.
So, I followed his tutorial and installed his ROM which is debloated, de-knoxed and rooted which I very much prefer over the crappy SK ROM.
I've learned the trick of this is to use SM-N910C ROM, but flash the modem from SM-N910S. I wish I knew how to extract the modem from the stock SM-N910S and to inject it into custom ROMs.
Even though SM-N910S and SM-N910C are HW identical, a custom ROM made for SM-N910C doesn't work on SM-N910S. Why is that? I have no idea...

You can find some thread about how to extract modem from a stock rom. Or google it.
No....I'm not worrying your data, I worry that you lost your efs/imei, that would cost you dearly.
I'm using CWM as recovery and I don't think it's messing up with EFS/IMEI, nor does Odin3 as long as I don't tick the boxes I don't need.
Later Edit: this ROM is AMAZING!!!
