Samsung s4 GT-19507 - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I was given this phone and it's full of bloatware I can't uninstall (running android 5.0.1). I noticed the model number of this specific type of s4 was only released in australia with optus/virgin? I have read other parts of the forum trying to find out if it is safe to put a custom rom on the phone, but all links are dead to files needed. Can anyone out there point me to a custom rom not full of bloatware that will work on this model phone? Also I have read there will be problem with the modem aswell if I do flash a custom rom on it.

Are we talking about TouchWiz custom ROMs or normal custom ROMs?
I don't know if TouchWiz custom ROMs will work, but this should work on your model.

Can't tell you exactly but it depends on custom rom.
The safe approach is getting to know the correct info about your device (using 'Phone INFO ★Samsung★' app), and then search for a right rom or you can ask in the developer's thread if it is compatible for your device.

Easy.
1) Where did you download your rom?
2) At what thread?
3) Does it mention for your phone model ex N9005 or others?
4) At the thread you downloaded the rom again, there are search button and use it to find either it can be use on your phone or not.

BASEBAND/MODEM/ROM how do you know whats what?

Hi guys, for a few years now with my Samsung devices I have never really understood what basebands or modems are the latest or what I should have, or what is compatible with anything else, or what is upgradeable/downgradeable, or what is best etc, and I have always had a lot of trouble finding out for myself without asking on forums, is there any sort of guide for this stuff? or any rule of thumb? any breakdown of the baseband name? same for modems, right now I have an N910G on 5.0.1 completely stock rom just rooted with N910GDTU1BOE2 base, how do I know if that's compatible with whatever rom I want? does that affect all of the installed roms if I dual/multi boot? is it safe to upgrade/downgrade at any time? thanks for any advice.

Need help in installing indian rom on sph-l720

Hello sir,
i got the same modified device of galaxy s4 (sph-l720 converted into i9500)
i also read almost all the posts that fall in this category. But i'm no more concerned about that change but all i need help is about to flash that firmware again in my phone.
Actually what i did, i got the phone pre-rooted then i removed some of the bloatwares from the system and also some of the system files too.
Then i come to know that it is not properly working. It got more serieous issues over the time. The i flashed my phone with sph-l720 firmware but it does not let me change network modes between gsm and wcdma. While i can change those networks in i9500 rom.
So i want to know that can i flash i9500 rom on my sph-l720 again "anyhow"!!
If possible send me links or tutorial so that i can flash rom on my phone. Also i am also eager to use lollipop rom (of i9500) on my phone. My phone is now almost unusable.
Give me the straight and forward solution and i am also aware about hardwares of both the devies.
Is there anything that you can help. I will really appreciate that.
I am the follower of xda since 2012.
If anyone could backup their current rom of kitkat (i.e. Modified rom on sph-l720) using twrp recovery and share it with my google drive or onedrive, so i can restore that on phone that it can be usable again. I would be very thankful to them.
Install Phone Info *Samsung* and send the details of it.

Hi Jabbarshah
If you followed xda tutorials by the letter, you have made a complete Nandroid backup before starting any modifications.
Just in case the information you eagerly need isn't present, you may restore that backup and regain access to it.
What lasted after ROM installation can be easily visualized using Phone INFO ★Samsung★. Specially Hardware and Personal tabs are stock information.

Your main information while seeking for a new ROM is the model SM-G900I. Nothing else matters.
You will just need to take care, for future flashes, that your bootloader and modem are matching (closer enough) the firmware you are flashing.
Example:
a) If you intend to flash PopWiz Telstra v5.1 that is compatible with your G900I, would be kinda complex as @iris28 doesn't clearly states which firmware version he's using. The information may be somewhere onto his thread but unfortunately isn't advertised as should.
b) THE GALAXY PROJECT by Master @djb77 states clearly that he's using Lollipop XXS1BPD3. :victory: ... so you end opting for it.
Now you just have to search for the closer firmware you can find that will match (not exactly) TGP. You have a complete list at Sammobile SM-G900I. Seek for your country/provider with higher Lollipop (5.0) release. If you are unable to find a flashable Odin file for that, you may do it yourself (xda way)
Hope I could be clear enough.
Have fun.

Searching for a specific Custom ROM

Hello,
Sorry if this has been asked before but is there actually a custom ROM of the latest stock Samsung Touchwiz Lollipop 5.0.1 for the S4 i9505 but without all the bloatware apps that comes with it? A ROM without needing to root the phone would be very much appreciated.
If the ROM can't be found in the development forum, it probably doesn't exist.

I thought perhaps I could't find it and that someone else might know such a ROM.
There may not be much demand for a de-bloated stock ROM which is why such a ROM doesn't exist.
If you don't want to root the phone, you could try Titanium Backup and freeze apps you don't want running or loading when the phone boots.
