M9+ Band 5 (850MHz) LTE? - One (M9+) General

Has anyone been able to connect to any band 5 LTE network? The spec indicates that the phone supports it and AT&T in my area (Boston) supposes to have it available. But I can't ever connect to any LTE network here. Only H+.
Wonder if the spec is wrong.

If Cricket is using the same 850MHz band then no. I am using Cricket and have had no luck connecting to LTE/4G.

Ok what to make of this? Will this run on CDMA or not? Is CDMA synonymous with LTE?

I can't speak to whether or not it will run LTE as I don't know how Verizon does this or for 4G for that matter as I don't know much about how that works... but the international version (only one available to north america by ordering from abroad) is NOT CDMA. It requires a SIM for it to work, CDMA is non-SIM
Edit: If I am wrong don't crucify me it's just my crude understanding
Its the way I understand it too but the dude has the phone in his hands. Granted, this doesn't make him an expert but it makes me wonder.

The SGSII version that has been announced is a GSM based phone meaning no CDMA.

CDMA does not mean LTE. This is not a LTE phone as it doesn't have the LTE bands to support it.

They probably meant there will be different versions of the phone. One version with quad band GSM (UK version about to be released) and dual band CDMA version that might come out in the future.
That being said, the SGSII uses HSPA+ 21Mbps speeds. Bell Mobility in Canada labels 4G with HSPA+ up to 21-42 Mbps. Check with your carrier for their network speeds. Carriers label HSPA+ with 4G to attract more customers but this is really not 4G, HSPA+ it is an evolution of 3G (basically higher speeds).
Hope that makes sense...
It does make sense. I just wish they'd announce that it's coming to verizon with lte capabilities already. Even if they said it'd be a year, at least I'd know. Thanks for the inputs.
yeah bell is stupid like that... in reality it's more like 3G+ or 3.5G

[Q] enable 4g?

Hi, have a galaxy note 2 and I am on 3 uk. I was thinking of getting a 4g phone so I can take use of dc-hsdpa, and I was wondering how easy it is to enable the 4g cop on the phone? Thanks
The n4 runs on 3g/4g by default, its lte that needs to be enabled through the dialer. But lte only works in canada and some us cities, don't think any uk carrier supports lte band 4.
Ok thanks for the reply. My carrier are using DC-HSDPA and only the 4g phones have the bands to support it? Any ideas
The n4 does support 42mbps dc-hsdpa http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_nexus_4_e960-5048.php

You have to introduce the APN settings I guess.
I did. I tried *#0011# but couldnt get the menu up.
It is in the normal settings of the phone in the network part "name of the acces poitns".

I am really sorry to dissappoint you, but your phone is NOT compatible with AT&T LTE. None of the international Samsung phones support North America LTE (Bands 4, 13, & 17). 95% of AT&T's LTE network runs on LTE band 17 (700mhz) and your phone does not support that frequency. This means you will never get AT&T LTE on it. You should pick up HSPA+ which nowadays is performing faster than LTE in some areas. Looking at your certain model, it looks like you may pick up band 5 LTE, which AT&T has in VERY FEW areas.
For future reference, the only models that will pick up AT&T LTE are the AT&T model obviously, T-Mobile models, and Verizon. No international version has ever had support for North America LTE bands.
Here is the specs to your model and you can see nowhere does it support band 4 or 17 LTE.

The N910s isn't even coming up on Samsung.com for me. Probably because the device isn't a North American device. I'm telling you that an international device will not support AT&T band 17 LTE. Hopefully I'm wrong. Do you have any proof that the device you bought says it supports band 17 LTE? Not unlocked USA LTE. You want band 17 LTE.

MattMJB0188 is right. You are out of luck. The hardware doesn't support the ATT LTE bands. You should have searched the forums here first. This has been discussed before. Also, where on that site does it list band 17 (700) and 4 (1700) support? I couldn't find it.

Hmmmm. You picked up the Korean version of the Note 4? Can I ask why? I do see support for band 17. Was the device originally locked? Its possible AT&T may be blocking LTE on that model number I don't know. If the APN settings are right, then I'd make sure my account is provisioned for LTE (that matters with AT&T).
Just so you know, your device is lacking band 2 LTE and band 4 which AT&T is using in congested areas. Generally, this will give you a poor performance. For example when an AT&T device is using band 17 and it becomes congested it can easily switch to band 2. Your device will not.
Good luck with your warranty also.
Its only band 17 in my area. And i travel a lot to china, south korea, and Canada so i wanted the bands. It seems ATT is the only carrier that lte isnt working on that its suppose too

Did you give AT&T the imei of your note 4? If so, you won't get LTE. You can confirm this by putting the sim back in an ATT android LTE phone and testing LTE. It shouldn't get LTE either until you switch the imei back with AT&T.
No I did not. I believe its an sktelecom software add on.

Exactly. You have to supply AT&T with an IMEI number from one of their devices in order to get LTE to work. Just go to a store and jot down the IMEI on any of their LTE android devices. Then call customer service and have them provision your account.
I did. They have my Q10 IMEI

If you have the correct APN, and your account is provisioned for one of their Android LTE devices, then I don't know. Its possible they could be blocking LTE from that device, given its a Korean phone. I don't know. Good luck.
My guess is they only unlock 3G bands and leave LTE locked. I'm going to dig farther

Its a USA thing mate. Tmobile/Atnt for long have shown only 4g icon irrepective whether the phone is on LTE or WCDMA and thats because the 4g icon essentially just another fancy name for high speed HSPDA+ or LTE. Ther is nothing cheating about that. When I used my s7edge in India it still showed me 4g although I was on a 3g connection.

But anyways, you can try switching to lte only and see if the 4g lte icon comes on instead.

Hey there guys,
I have a GT935T (locked) atm, and as I am planning to move to India, I will get it unlocked. However, I am unsure if the T Mobile S7 Edge will work on the bands supported by Indian carriers. As far as as I have found through my research, the bands used in india are as follows, from the gsmarena page:
2G capabilities
GSM 900, GSM 1800
3G capabilities
UMTS 900, UMTS 2100
4G capabilities
LTE 850 (5), LTE 1800 (3), LTE 2300 (40)
The GT935T doesn't have the LTE band 40. Does this mean I will have problems connecting to an LTE network in india? I also found in my research that most Indian carriers that support LTE use the band 40. Does anyone have experience in this, or some expert opinion?

Why only use it on 3g? Flash the correct firmware for your country/location/carrier and it should pick up a better signal. That is unless there is only 3G network where you are located.

OnePlus 5 Testing on Verizon

I received my OP5 today, and decided to try my Verizon SIM just for kicks. I was expecting to connect to LTE on band 2 or 4 (both of which are available in my area), but unfortunately I was not able to connect to LTE at all. I connected to 3G fine and was able to use data, just no LTE. I tried adding the vzwinternet APN, and swapped it in SIM 1 and SIM 2, without luck. Has anyone had luck getting LTE on Verizon?
How is that even possible? It's a GSM only phone, no CDMA...
After an OTA, I got LTE.Speedtest shows about 15mbps for downloading

I withdraw my statement. The signal drop to 3G within an hour. And never got LTE again. So as some people suggest that the LTE of Verizon won't work well on Oneplus 5.
Of course you wouldn't have LTE. Verizon use Band 13 which is not supported by the OP5. Here is a list of supported bands. 3G is the best you're going to get, if you want LTE switch to T-Mobile or AT&T they will work fine.
FDD LTE: Band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/29/30/66
TDD LTE: Band 38/39/40/41
TD-SCDMA: Band 34/39
UMTS(WCDMA): Band 1/2/4/5/8
CDMA EVDO: BC0
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

Verizon doesn't only use band 13. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I live in an area where Verizon has LTE bands 2 and 4, yet neither work on the OP5 for some reason.
Been using it now for a couple days. Get decent service with Verizon. Switches between LTE and 3G. I also have a tmobs SIM. Been using tmobs for data which is mostly LTE. So between both service providers, I will hopefully have good service everywhere.

Band 2 and 4 are what they use for speed and capacity, you can easily get 100Mbps+ on either of these bands in many markets, but again you don't get any LTE on Verizon for some reason.

Probably cos there's no apn settings for that connection so the phone doesn't know how to access it, see if you can find out the apn settings for LTE on Verizon and add a new apn entry

It is very well known that OP phones don't play nicely with CDMA carriers....why is this even a discussion?
