question for those who had the note edge - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have had the note edge since launch and looking at upgrading to the edge+. I can live without the S pen il honestly miss it maybe 20 mins a year. The one reason I have been holding back on the upgrade is my favorite features of the note edge is notifications on the edge. What I mean is when I am browsing the net and get a phone call or text it just pops up on the edge and not the whole screen allowing me to reject it using the edge and not interrupt what I am doing. My understanding this feature is not there on the edge+ out of the box and curious to know if there is a way I can add it after the fact thru an app or other means.

No, you can't. It's completely different from the Note Edge (which was my FAVORITE phone, ever) but I have come to love the Edge+ so much that I don't care. The phone is simply a beast and performs so well I can live without that feature.

In Note 4 Edge, both the displays were separate ( they made it work together). In Edge+, its integrated. So, you won't get all the features of Note 4 Edge. But as the post above mine says, this phone is a beast!

Thanks.
Something to read in bed tonight
THX
Thank you
i read the s6 edge manual, it never mention about loopPay.
is LoopPay only available on regular s6 ?
it also said edge screen can stream live news or stock quotes when main screen is OFF, on NoteEdge i can doing something on main screen AND streaming news or stock quotes on edge screen at the same time !
If a remember correctly, Loop Pay will not be available until summer.
They changed the way that the edge screen works as compared to the Note, but I'm not sure exactly what those changes are. I do know that the edge is a little thinner than the Note.

{Help} Confused between Note 4, Note 4 Edge and S6 Edge.

After S6 Edge announcement and watching videos I am too much confused between Note 4, Note 4 Edge and S6 Edge.
What i like about Note 4 is 5.7" Screen and clearity of camera, Multitasking While in note Edge i like the Edge features so I was confused in between this two devices but after S6 Edge announcement i am going crazy as i am not able to decide which should i buy. I like the S6 Edge features like People Edge Contacts, Dual Edge, It's look and Notification animation it's very cool but it also have some demerits like Non removable Battery, Non Expandable Memory, No proper usage of Dual Edge Screen because of small 5.1 inch screen. So plz help me to decide which one to nuy. If you were in my position then what you would have buy ???.
I want to buy anyone from the above devices so i can start making My Previously made Black Metallic Theme for my New Device...
Those who want to have a look to my Black Metallic theme which is made for Note 2 can visit the below link.

Poll have been added which will help me to decide
I'd wait for the Note 5 release. That way you'll get the new s6 features as well as the big display with the curve on the edges.
For this moment note4 with Exynos. May be note 5 at the end of the year. Note edge and s6 edge are very dificult to protect.
Get the note 4. Really cannot go wrong with this phone even now, with the sterling battery life and that screen. Lollipop will show up eventually and it will only enhance the note. Sure enough s6 looks good, but its a first generation product where i am concerned and a bit of a hail mary. It's the first time they have gone all in with their own processors and lack of expansible storage and removable batteries, eschewing that for a wonderful design.
The note 4 has both of the above, sterling build quality, the current best screen on the market ( i got both the nexus 6 and 6 plus and believe me only iphone even comes close in fidelty), all around great shooter and wonderful battery life.
As much as i admire the s6, i think its one product to sit out until they get it better next year. Golden rule... never buy a first gen product.

If you must absolutely get a samsung device, get the S6 edge.
There is currently little-to-no support for the Note4
How do you define support? I'm never going to catch up with all the threads in this forum for the T-Mobile one alone, much less Note 4 in general. There's certainly development happening.
----
I was going between the Note 4 and Note Edge and while I was realllllllly hoping the Edge would come down a bit in price, it's clear that T-Mobile has a high opinion of its flagship and isn't coming down any time soon. I sprung for the Note 4.
I hadn't even heard of the S6 or S6 Edge until after the 4 had arrived at my door. Now that I have, I see they don't have an S-pen.
It's not my whole existence but I do send enough text from my phone that I really do benefit from a thick, heavy, slide-out keyboard. I'm not one to carry a bluetooth KB around either, so I really wanted a phone with an integral hardware KB. Nobody makes a decent one any more: the MyTouch 4G Slide was better specced than the current LG slider they offer, and coming off of that phone, I wasn't about to pay for the LG and get worse hardware, and none of the other carriers offered attractive options.
I can write about as fast as I was able to type on a phone keyboard, so I decided the next best option was a pen. The Note 3 would have been more affordable, but still more than double what we paid for my MyTouch 4G Slide, so considering the cost, I decided to go all in and get the better hardware of the Note 4. Again, wanted the Edge, but the additional nearly-$150-or-so was a major turn-off for nearly identical hardware.
Aside from stock twitch-whiz interface and bloatware apps, I'm pleased with it and the handwriting recognition does pretty well for me.
I hate Samsung devices, though. Mainly because of twitch-whiz, to be fair.

A Question: Getting used to this phone after Note Edge. What i really miss...

the only application i miss from the Note Edge is the function to receive notifications, select apps, receive phone calls, forward/reverse music on edge so it doesn't disturb whatever ive been doing on the main screen.
has this function been added to s6 edge plus yet? or will it never be?
I don't have too much experience with the Note edge, but it's edge is bigger than the S6. There's simply more room for that. Not so much on the S6 edge.

[Q] Native Bluetooth Stylus support - Note like

http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/05/29/android-m-feature-spotlight-native-bluetooth-stylus-support-is-here/
I am replacing my broken Note 4 with the S7 Edge.
I was looking for some active pens to somehow be able still to write and I stumbled upon this article.
Is this Android M feature supported by the S7?
Could this be added if it's not present?
Am so excited
Preordered the S7 but still on the edge weather to get a Note 5 instead
Could anyone please test it?
Would be awesome
There are even pressure sensitive Bluetooth pens out there.
Bumping. Important Android 6 feature
Could be handy to know coming from note 4 would ease the transition

why is it that there's little interest in our beloved NOTE 5?

Note 5 is really a great phone, I'm wondering why is it that there's no love when it comes to the development section? Most if not all of the developer either stopped or discontinued all their ROMS for our note 5.
There is a simple reason...
Only half of the world was able to buy the Note 5 instead for example the Note 4 which indeed has a bis developer community as of now. You only develop on device you have or at least know very well. Furthermore several people switched to a Note 7 when it was released but had to return it, most of them sold their Note 5 and due to Samsung's returnment offers, people possibly switched to an S-series phone.
Development on this phone never was that big...
That's hardly the reason. It's also because of exynos. So it's going to be stock Roms.. Or n7 ports and they are all going to be very much alike... There's a cm port on here by some guy that has school exams but it's not very good
Hmmm. I want to switch to s7 edge by the s-pen is holding me back.
I am surprised nobody has ported the s7e nougat ROM to the note 5 yet

Note 4 development was a mess most of roms drained my battery. This one needs no rom it only misses noughat and edge screen.

Yep price was not the issue when I was about to pick the s7 edge
while the s7 edge has more storage and water proof the Note 5 just has the s pen.
I am one of the people who think using the pen and writes his diaries and "notes" A LOT
And don't Find paper in most of the time or store paper / text books properly or all the time and I like writing stories.
Having those in my device solves all my problems.
and i know its weird but I write my dreams in the S Note when I wake up haha
I pin all my notes at the Home screen it would be kind of awkard to get the s7 edge without having notes or scrap book.
its way too basic for my taste.
Scrap book is way too much fun to take all your favorite and interesting things like quotes or so
I also play Nintendo DS Games using The S Pen.
The note 5 is not perfect by any mean but its a large screen Phone that acts like an infinite number of note books (thanks to the s notes) and quick notes (thanks to scrap book) with a real looking pen (premium s pen) inside it thats whole a lot features packed into a small device (thanks to the small bezel) in hand much better than an edgey screen that although looks nice but does not make a single sense or any logical use.. only worthy upgrade for note users is the note 8 (and previously was the note 7 which had died). Ofcourse if you do not care for the S Pen and you care for slightly better camera and water proof (which can be added with a case ofcourse) and about 1 hour more of battery life under 100% brightness then S7 Edge would be the perfect choice..
I lost my Note 4 over the weekend, my carrier only had Note 5 replacements. Some of these comments are disheartening I miss my Note 4!

Yeah, Note 5 development is pretty disappointing. We have two Nougat roms atm but for mine the call audio doesn't work. We also have a CM13 alpha build that's pretty good for what it is. Oh and a Miui rom.

I never got more than 5 hours screen on time on my note 5 but with my S7 edge I'm getting nothing under 7 hours
or the battery life upgrading might be pretty much worth it. If you love the s pen so much you really would stick to the note 5. The Problem is Really Me not the S7 edge I am a very big S Pen addict I had note 4 and 3. getting red Of the abbility to Write on screen is too MUCH. like I said price Was not my issue.
I Just don't see my self using S7 edge For 7 hours like I Use my Note 5 For 4:30 to 5. Actually I Used the s Pen to Answer this thread.
The number of features is what bugs me the most. S7 Edge looks like a really great phone while the Note 5 looks like a Good Phone with a note book in your pocket .
