Has anyone tried this head unit? - Android Head-Units

I was l roaming around ebay looking for a good price on head unit. I found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321851333250?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Anyone have any experience with this company? This head unit?
It's Android 4.4.4 and doesn't look bad. It's also extremely cheap. Which is what really makes me wonder.

Looks like a low end dual core, low resolution 480 screen heufei unit.
A quad core(much snappier), high res 1024×600 screen easier to read, similar unit runs about $250 right now.
But it's good probably for the price if that is your absolute most crireria. If that meets you needs then go for it.
I do like the button layout on that unit though. It reminds me of the carjoying.com unit I have. I am not a fan of the units with lots of buttons that waste lots of screen space nor the ones that have no physical knobs or buttons and are all touch.

Thanks.
Money isn't the most important criteria but convincing my wife to spend a few hundred on a radio is practically impossible. :/
I wouldn't mind getting the higher res and faster chip that's for sure. Something to think about anyways.

I am looking at this unit, but the price seems prety steep to what other people are getting their units at: http://android-caraudio.com/en/2251-qkgac-7028hd-multimedia-android-444-quad-core-for-audi-a4.html
Do you guys think its worth the extra cost? It does include DHL shipping though...

MotoAuto?

It would be great to see a MotoMod that essentially would allow the device to run the Infotainment systems. Or am I the only fool that would get this?
I mean, so far besides the Incipio charging mod, I have been dissatisfied with Lenovo's modular approach. I think the mods are cool, but seeing the cost of the phone is 750+ adding mods upwards of $300 is a reach. This is obviously just my opinion, maybe there are some that find the mods useful for the price, I would like to know the general consensus of Moto Z owners?
Id buy a head unit that this is the faceplate of...or had a larger screen and a separate dock for the phone, as long as it had decent specs for audio output and was under say 150 if the phone was the faceplate, and under 300 with a separate display.

Looking to upgrade.. What Android HU is everyone buying now?

So I'm looking to upgrade from a Pumpkin Head Unit RK3066 that I've had for a couple years now running Malysk rom but performance seems to be getting worse as time goes by. Problem is that I'm not sure what current unit to buy. I want the best specs available right now and I need to be able to root. I have a 2015 Toyota Camry. Would be great to find an HU that is a direct fit for my car but any universal unit would be fine also.
I found this on Amazon for $300 ... Joying JY-UL135N2 https://www.amazon.com/JOYING-Android-Stereo-Navigation-Bluetooth/dp/B01M670UWI
Can anyone recommend any other Android HU's that they are liking and post links to where they bought them?

I have the jy-ul135n2 and I'm quite happy with it, and there seems to be a fairly large user base so little tweaks here and there should be more common than other units. The only thing I don't like about it hardware wise is the recessed screen. So, if you don't absolutely have to have the physical buttons around the screen I'd get the version with touch sensitive buttons that are flush with the screen.

Is this the one without the recessed screen? This one looks like it only has one sdcard slot.

Matte screen px5?

Hi, is there any head unit with px5 and 2gb ram (I understand that it is current most powerful option in Chinese HUs) with matte screen and physical know for volume and other buttons?
Also it would be great if it ships from EU.
Or at least with truly black screen with some ag coating. All I saw for sale, even name brand HUs from Kenwood are this silver/gray super reflective ****.
Also does Bluetooth internet tethering from phone work on px5 mtcd/e units?

px5 is a weakling. Its a bunch of A53's.
The ARM way of doing things is to couple a few weaker cores (they call them "little") with a few stronger cores (they call them "BIG").
The little cores are used when the processing demands are low, because typically they will use less power than the big cores (A57, A72, A73).
What the px5 has, is a bunch of little cores, without any BIG ones.
It doesn't matter if it has 8 of them, they're still really weak and slow.
The stronger chip available for car radios is the Intel Sofia. Don't get too crazy about core counts, frequency, or "benchmarks". None of those metrics help you in calculating the relative performance when you are comparing dissimiliar CPU architectures.
MTC is also responsible for some particularly poor designs. Try to find something from SYU instead. They are a lot less dependent on crappy firmware running on the external MCU chip. Both do have an MCU, but the SYU doesn't use it for nearly as much.
Don't really care about CPU as much for the screen, but would prefer latest arm platform then depreciated, even if more powerful intel one.
If there are intel with matte screen and no px5 with it then sure.
So anything at least semi glossy, like some hi end laptops are these days? Or at worst something with truly black screen? (sometimes it is called fully laminated)
HU I have has very glossy screen glass, but the only case I suffer from this is when making photos of whats on screen - have to choose position carefully to avoid self-reflection. All other usage scenarios are not affected by that at all.
And why not putting on a matte protector? I have a Peugeout 308 with an integrated multimedia screen, and I aready fitted a matte screen protector.
I wanted to install a protector no matter what, to avoid permanent scratches that could be caused with rings, keys or whatever you could have in hand in any moment.
I now ordered a Joying HU and will install a screen protector ASAP.
There is video on Youtube featuring Joying's screen glass hardness - looks like it is of some Gorilla type, quite impressive and nothing to worry about. What really bothers me is greasy stains from my even greasy fingers, but in this case soft cloth helps, not any screen protector which I firmly believe is rather useless.

My experience with matte protectors is just bad, it is not same, not even close to matter layer fused with polarizer on matte displays.

Any examples of SYU/Sofia units you recommend?

Any good 1-din PX5 with adjustable screen, other than Joying?

Hello.
is there any suggestion for a 1-din head unit, with ajustable screen, similar to the Joying ones, like this?
I'm having a hard time with the Joying support to have a refund for a unsatisfying QD unit, so I would preferably buy from an other brand.
Thanks.
There’s an Xtrons unit I was looking at. Model No. TR704L which has asimilar form factor to the joying single din units. not sure if the screen height is adjustable though.
whats up with the head unit ? i just got one of the px-5 octa core 4gb ram models with a 10.1 inch screen.
was trying to find a good matte screen protector

What was wrong with your fyt unit? Generally they are better quality than other designs.

The concept is interesting with the screen mounted on a ball joint. However, it doesn't seem to be adjustable. :/
I have an Alfa 156 and the screen has to fit between the gauges and the A/C controls. The 7" Joying screen barely fits.

Candy from Joying keeps saying that I can't send the unit back to Germany, only to China. She's willing to refund half the shipping fees, but wants to make the exchange from China. So I would have to pay the customs, while it was already paid in the price from Germany.

I don't know why I wrote FYT while it's a QD unit.
I'm looking for something similar. Something that won't block my AC controls or my 4WD controls.
Hi, We have this unit. its a 1din 10"

And it's quite difficult, because I need to see the gauges, at least the water temperature gauge, just in case.
Which means that there is only ~120 mm of clearance…

Thanks for your proposition, but the screen is way too big. :/
And your other universal 1-din has a 7" motorized screen which doesn't fit (because it would mask the gauges). Also, the price of the 7" is a little high, considering that the RAM is only 2 Gb…
I'm still struggling with the Joying support.
So if there is any other suggestion, I will happily hear it.

Looking for a probably the most reliable head unit on a budget.

ive got around a $300USD budget. looking to upgrade my old head unit and unsure what to get. ive looked at atoto, joying, vanku, pumpkin. just about every unit and as i do want a "quality" unit i want to find the middle ground between reliability, features and sound quality. lots of the $300 name brand units ive looked at is no longer available because of the chip shortages. ive seen a few "name brands" that i was kinda interested in but would love to use argma or a better interface but still with all the options its tough to choose. i know i want a double din flush mount, so not larger then 7". capacitive touch as i hate resistive. reverse camera isnt really a want or need.
anyone out there can make some good recommendations.
