Brand new Moto x Dev edition (Verizon) - Moto X General

I just got a brand new Moto x Developer Edition (Verizon) I am new to Moto and not sure what are all the options available for this variant.
1) what ROM's do you guys suggest for this variant ?
2) What version of CM can i install?
Thanks!

I wouldn't install a rom at all, the stock experience on this phone is way too good. That said, I'd unlock the bootloader and root with twrp and then use xposed with the gravity box module to play around.

I got the phone and when i go to software update it says i am running upto date. I am on 4.4.4 and its a dev edition (verizon) How do i install 5.1 on this? checked the moto site and there is not straight forward answer. Any help is apprecaited!

The Verizon variant (including the dev edition) hasn't yet received official lollipop.

[VIDEO] Restore Factory Images Motorola X Developer Edition

IMPORTANT!
DO NOT USE THESE IMAGES/PACKAGES ON NON-DEVELOPER EDITION DEVICES OR ON DEVICES WITH A LOCKED BOOTLOADER.
Why wouldnt this work on a Moto X with a unlocked bootloader? I have a Rogers variant, with TWRP / Unlocked bootloader.. I'm assuming the modem files might be different but other then that there shouldn't be that much of a difference is there?
Tempted to try it out..
I have an unlocked bootloader GSM developer edition without any carrier branding and Cant find my factory image.

Thanks for the video Heyitslou, is the developer edition GSM the same as the tmobile one? On motorola website it says "MOTO X, GSM Dev Edition: KK-4.4.2-KXA20.16-1.25_MR3 (Retail)"
and i saw on XDA firmware:
"Android 4.4.2 Blur_Version.161.44.25.ghost_row.Retail.en.US" where filename is similar with MR3 in it.
OK NEVERMIND. Motorola send me link to this file "TMO_RETAIL_XT1053_4.4.2-KXA20.16-1.25_MR3_CFC.xml.zip" for my developer edition GSM.

[Q] next steps with my moto X

I am a Rodgers subscriber and have purchased a used Sprint Moto X. I have unlocked it so I could just put in a SIM and go. Is this my best option or should/can I flash this with custom firmware, updated Sprint firmware (KitKat), or switch over to Rogers firmware. Any other Sprint Moto X users in Canada out there? Current software is 161.44.32.ghost_Sprint.en.US

I put this in the wrong form..... Please remove I will create a new thread in Q&A

This is for all moto x 2014? If not, maybe the supported models should be on the topic.
Does this work for the XT1097 from AT&T??

The bootloader probably won't let you flash anything other than the Verizon version
If anyone tried this please report back I'd really like to know the answer to this myself.

How might you accomplish this given locked bootloader, no root and no ability to boot a custom recovery. There is little/no chance ADB sideload would allow such a swap as it would stop any semblance of device security.
