How might you accomplish this given locked bootloader, no root and no ability to boot a custom recovery. There is little/no chance ADB sideload would allow such a swap as it would stop any semblance of device security.

Bootloader Unlock Question

I have the Verizon Moto E4. Yes...I know the bootloader can't be unlocked, so it can't be rooted. However, a couple years ago I had a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 which also had a locked bootloader, but it was rootable with TowelRoot. I was able to flash ROMs via SafeStrap (like TWRP). Granted, they were TouchWiz based ROMs, but it was rooted. So how is it that the Verizon S4 was rootable with a locked bootloader, but the Moto E4 isn't/can't?
Just wondering.

Android has progressed to a point where it is much more secure. Motorola has gotten much better at creating secure bootloaders.
It's not a true motorola phone. It's lenovo moto and lenovo keep screwing new devices.

This has exactly ZERO to do with Lenovorola - They allow unlocking on a bunch of devices they sell, EXCEPT when requested by carriers / vendors, like Verizon and Amazon. VERIZON, not Motorola or Lenovo, is responsible for the not-unlockable bootloader on the VZW variant.

Flashing Verizon e4 using retail rom ?

The bootloader probably won't let you flash anything other than the Verizon version
If anyone tried this please report back I'd really like to know the answer to this myself.

Moto E4 OEM Rom Swap

I have a Sprint Moto E4 Perry that I would like to install the Metro PCS OEM Moto E4 Perry rom onto. The phone is already bootloader unlocked. What would be the easiest way to do so? Would installing the OEM rom with twrp work? If so what would be the best way to do that? Thank you for your help.

You can't install stock firmware with twrp unless it was made into a flashable zip by someone, and nobody has done that yet. You need to flash the firmware with fastboot. I also don't recommend flashing firmware for a GSM device on a CDMA device. It may not work out so well for you.
Whats the reasoning behind wanting to flash metropcs?

No. Probably never will be.
I know someone that has the Dev version of the verizon model and they say they cannot unlock the bootloader on that one either - it came locked out the box. So, you're probably better off going Factory Unlocked.
