There is no problems with battery life. And how could we possibly predict what marshmellow has in store for battery life for this device?
Sent from my Gorgeous S6 Edge Plus

Ya its already good. I used a regular s6 and the plus manages the battery much better. Its 430 now and i have been unplugged since 530 this morning. Im at 67%
Thats with light use but the s6 prob would have been down to like 40 with the same amount of use.

To put it in perspective I took my note 4 with a brand new battery off charge at 9am its now 3 40 and I have 52 percent left and 2h25 SOT with very light usage, will I see better than this with the edge ?

I haven't had a phone with this good battery life in a year, except for the iPhone 6 plus which seem to have equally good battery life.
But yeah the standby time should be better on all phones with marshmallow.

[Q] Battery life compared to capacity?

I'm interested in getting the phone, but there was something that really caught my eye. I was wondering why a phone like this, with 3000mah, gets only a little bit more battery life in stats compared to other phones with lower capacities, like the nexus 5, with only 2300mah but around the same battery life.
You're kidding right? G2 is well known to have the best battery out there.

Not sure where you are seeing that the G2 gets just a little bit better battery life than the Nexus 5, but if you look at several reviews that are out there, specifically ones where they do standardized battery run down tests, you will see that the G2's battery life is excellent in comparison to pretty much any other phone that are out there. On engadget for example, the G2 lasted 16 hours on their battery run down test while the Nexus 5 only lasted 7 hours and 20 minutes on the same test. Also in their review of the G2, the phone easily lasted 20 hours under 'heavy' usage while they only got 12 hours on the N5 with 'normal' usage.

Huh I guess I looked in the wrong places. But somewhat related to the topic, do any of you know if there are going to be any power cases released?
I have only gotten 3-4 hours of screen on time

I CANNOT count on 2 hands the number of times I've gotten 5 plus hours of screen on time on my D801. GSM vs CDMA of course but something else is up.

I'm seeing 5.5+ hours screen time with ~24 hours device run time! Couldn't ask for a longer lasting battery... And I'm on sprint!!

Nexus 5 have same battery life with G2?
Nexus 5 is nowhere near in terms of battery life
and 3000mah with Gram it's like having ~3500mah battery

at last very happy with the note 4 on marshmallow now

now getting 5 hours screen time and it's working flawlessly.
I did a factory reset and a new battery.. plus I use package disabler not sure if that really helps. I'm not rooted. the update has been great.
recommendations hard reset and new battery

A new battery?! ?
Yeah, 4.5-5 hours of SoT is the average battery life on MM, unless your battery is too old I think.

My battery is one year old now and I am getting 5.30 hours of OST with marshmallow .. so I guess it's not so much about the battery
I had to change the battery as it was discharging too rapidly. easy solution. what would it cost to change battery if it was the note 5? I'm hoping the note 6 has a replaceable battery

Note 7 battery life longer than note 4?

I realize the note 7 has a slightly larger battery and up to date internals. But has option for on always time clock on etc. So will the new phone offer at least 20 % more battery screen on time. Any thoughts. I enjoy my note 4 but Im prepared to let go off my infra red and removable battery if I get a longer battery life. Not too bothered about the Iris scanner waterproof etc. and the note 4 camera is great.
Shame we don't know much about the new Nexus or LG. Maybe 4000 battery.

It's still unclear how it will perform.
If you could wait a bit let others buy/test it first!
The battery life of any device is subjective to the individual user. As everybody uses their device different. I can get up to 2 days battery life with my N910C as I turn it off once I get home since I have a landline.

As the note7 comes on the same SOC as the Galaxy S7, we can expect an improvement in battery life. The S7 plays in the top legue when it comes to battery life, so its likely the Note 7 will behalf similar.

I won't bother to buy the Note 7. Eventhough it will definetly have greater battery life (see comparison Note 4 and Note 5), this will never replace the benefit of a removable battery. Considering the numbers, it may have 20% longer battery life then the note 5. But since I get approx. 5.5 hours of SOT with my Note 4, I don't see any point in upgrading until the phone dies.
But if you are just focused on the battery life: Taking the value of your note 4 into account (approx. $300), you would spend $500 just for 20% longer battery life (your estimation)? Thats insane man!
Good point thanks but if I get 20 percent more and a better camera plus waterproof and stronger screen.. I'm tempted

i got my new 6800 mah battery, in 1 or 2 days might i will made a post about it, i need to calibrate at all, but take some long time, u was using antutu battery test to drain it, just get around 5 hour of SOT whit max brightnes, from 99% to 7%, and i remove the battery and put again and... 35% again on battery, i open a game and drain to 7% and the phone just shut down, i remove the battery again and put it and the phone keep on for some time more, i reach 3% and i turn it off, now i put the charger, ita at 100% but i will leabe for 2 hours more, i think i need to drain to 0% one or 2 times more, but well it work perfect for me and dont make the phone line a brik like de zero lemon one
PD sry about my english its bad an i know it

Impressive. Considering the most I have ever managed for SoT on my S5 is 4-5 hours ands thats with screen brightness turned down quite a bit, cant wait for my s8+ to arrive!!
that makes me so happy. The iphone 6s Plus I had would last all day. The Note 7 I had would last all day. The S7E is almost dead by noon (5-6 hours.) Looks like the S8+ will last me all day again.
Very impressed with the battery life on the little S8 and the S8 Plus.
Considering the former only has a 3000 mAh battery, it lasted surprisingly long.

I get 6-7 hours on my s7e exynos, I dono why some people get such crap battery life, maybe duds?
Facebook, snapchat, weather running in statusbar all the time for starters. I show people all the time how much that stuff kills battery and tell them to manually check social media accounts.

Cause most everyone uses their phone's differently. Someone else using your exact phone may see way less.

I got the Exynos S7 Edge and I'm averaging at about 5.5H SOT. About 3.5h SOT is outdoors with maximum brightness. Tomorrow my S8 will arrive and I'll report back then
any shipments as of yet ?
It's better than my Note 7
I havent done any monitoring but I believe it is better than my S7 Edge. I was not happy with S7 once it updated to Nouget.

It's because there were many people who had battery draining bugs on their S7E. Certain apps (out of the box) and certain settings would cause the battery to drain extremely fast.
I know all of this because I went through it and I created a thread on how to fix the issue.
My final results with a Snapdragon S7E were roughly 8 hours SOT.

Looks like I'm projecting to get 5.5-6 SOT on my S8+. Although that is only 30% into the battery, so we'll see.
Seems ok to me.
But im on the highest resolution setting (raised it from the default), auto brightness, wifi/bluetooth/nfc/location services on, and an android wear watch connected.

Yesterday first full day was over 6 hours sot, let it down to 23%, once I'm done playing will be interesting to see standby drain.

battery life is nuts!!!!

Here's my battery life leaving charger off until 2% and this is what the iber driver app running 24 hours which is a battery drainer!! I can easily get a day without Uber on... And this is also 8 hours SOT never had that before!

Yeah I out of habit threw my phone on the charger on a ride to the store it raised it about 7% but the phone only tracks "time on battery" and it was only a 30 minute slow charge. It's still far and beyond any phone I've ever used

I didn't even get that with my s7edge with bigger battery. Not sure how that's possible. I get that now with my Mate 9 on a good day, but that's a 4000 capacity battery.

It's the combination of the 10nm SoC with the 8 cores that does all the difference. Runs cooler and has 4 cores for both light and heavy task to distribute the load. That coupled with the software optimization makes it a battery sipper. If you think that's good wait until you see the pixel 2 with the SD 830. I'm sure it'll be phenomenal.
Quite the opposite experience for me with my S8+. Compared to my iPhone 7 Plus and my S7 Edge that I recently sold the battery is not good at all. I have had the phone for 3 days now and I am consistently ending my workday with less than 40% left on the battery (somewhere around 35%) with only 4.5h of SOT. I can see that there are processes that are draining the battery in the background, for example DeX which I had to force stop. Note that I am not using DeX and have never used it so I don't even know why the service would be running. My version is using the SD835 chip.

Seems pretty on par or a little lower than the S7 edge. I've reached 8+ hours of SOT and an average of over a day and 6-7 hrs of SOT. It's a US SD820 ATT.

Full resolution for me in high performance mode. I don't do any of that battery saver crap. If I wanted to have reduced performance I would have not bought a $1000 phone. I only use auto brightness.

I am comparing it to my S7 Edge that was running the same Nougat OS and to my 7 Plus. Both achieve better battery life. I never went home with my S7 Edge with less than 50% battery. iPhone is generally around 65%.
