Vibration settings? - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm having issues trying to find out where to enable/disable vibration for notifications. Its driving me mad. Any ideas?

Interesting, I had a look around and didn't see anything.
I got vibration working via Swiftkey. Swiftkey has an option in Sounds and Vibrations to set the vibration level. By default it was set to zero.

I had same issue with my tablet until I realised the vibration setting was under Sounds.

Yeah I still can't find it. Let's hope its a silly thing they forgot to put in and do so in next software update

I have observed this exact same problem with Tapatalk: the inability to disable vibration during notifications. I'm surprised that more people aren't annoyed by this.
When I go into the Tapatalk Settings, and click "Advanced Settings" under "NOTIFICATION", there is a "Vibrate" option that I have set to "Never". Yet, the phone always vibrates when I receive a Tapatalk notification.
I have seen similar behavior from other apps, such as K9-Mail. When I filed a bug report about this behavior, the K9-Mail developers insisted that core notification functionality had been changed in the Android operating system, which changed the notification behavior in many existing apps.
The solution in K9-Mail was to uncheck the Vibrate setting but also set the notification ring tone to "Silent". For me, this had the intended effect: the phone never vibrates for email, regardless of whether the phone is in silent mode or not.
My understanding of the Android-level change to notifications is that the phone will vibrate for a notification, even if the parent application's vibration setting is off, provided that the phone itself is in "Vibrate Mode" (the mode when the volume rocker is between "Silent" and the lowest possible audible volume). This is why setting the ringtone to "Silent" "fixes" the problem.
Might anyone have any thoughts on this, or a "trick" for disabling vibration completely in Tapatalk?

Lightflow kills one hand operation

I don't use it very often but I do like one handed operation. Today I realized that it wasn't working so I started undoing all the mods/setup I've been working on. Turns out it was lightflow. I can disable it in accessibility options and one hand operation immediately starts working.
Are there any other decent led control apps to try?
Thought I'd post here to hopefully save anyone else the trouble if they run into the same problem.

It seems like having anything enabled under Accessibility kills one-handed mode.
But Light Flow is working for me without the Accessibility setting. There's a new setting called Notification Access in the Security section.
Try enabling Light Flow there and see if it works. As I said, mine is working that way, but I'm also rooted, so maybe that has something to do with it...
Yeah it was enabled there too. Maybe there's just something wrong with mine because my wife just informed me that hers is working find and all she did was install it and forget about it. I had to enable options I've never used before like the one to make the led flash even when the screen is on, in order to get or to do anything at all.
I'm rooted too.

Make sure that you have the LED settings under 'Settings' > 'Display' to have "Charging" and "Notifications" checked along with the checkbox in 'Security' > 'Notification Access'.

Lol, looks like that was my problem. For some reason I thought they all needed to be turned off so I did that initially and didn't even think to revisit it.
Thanks.
So we don't need to enable it in accessibility? Cuz that ruins most features. Makes you disable them.

Mine is currently disabled in Accessibility and enabled in Security -> Notification Access. In Display -> LED indicator, I have Charging, and Notifications checked.
Working like a charm.
Works good this way with or without root. Just installed.opened.enabled the notification access. And use. Doesn't need enabled in accessibility.

In my S3 they had to be disabled in stock settings to work. In this they need to be enabled in stock settings for it to work. I know lightflow told me to disable it in stock settings on the S3.

Disable vibration on fingerprint reader?

Liking the fingerprint unlock from the lock screen, but want to disable the vibration feedback. Is there a way to disable it?
Already disabled vibration feedback in keyboard and in audio settings. Can't find any setting for it in the fingerprint options.

wait ? I just know fingerprint lock screen has a vibration feedback because you post it here. My phone have no vibration at all while unlocking. All vibration settings are turned off in my phone.
Oh and I've been trying to disable it... wonder how I enabled it in the first place. Maybe it is a different default setting on different firmware versions of kit kat or smth.

Disable vibrate on fingerprint
Go to settings > Sounds > Vibration Intensity
Set Notification to lowest.
Thank you this worked Don't know how I missed it.
But it disables the vibration feedback completely? Not only on fingerprint?
At least fingerprint is now worth using, too annoying with the vibration every time Thank you

While in call, the only way you can go about doing this is by going to homescreen(press the home button while on call)>settings>change the settings specifically. Or, you can change the phone mode to silent from the notification panel and then revert back.
it's strange that it vibrate in call,it's in all the 6.0.1?

Well yes, if you don't want notifications at all while you are on a call alone, you can change the settings from the phone application. Go to your dialer, then open settings and unselect the notify during calls options.
well i don't find the specific setting in call..where is it exactly at the nexus?

Anyone find a solution to this? Do I really have to use tasker to get this done?
Same issue here... there is no option in settings that I can find to turn it off. Its gone from annoying to infuriating... maybe its fixed in preview 5.... if the stupid OTA would ever get here
Drives me nuts, vibration should be off by default while in a call.
vibrate during call bug fixed
Looks like bug has been fixed and will be available in "future build"
I can't post url yet, google: Issue 220951: 7.0 Nougat vibration during call problem
I'm using a Huawei Mate 8 and have also run into this issue, on Android 7.0.
Using Light Flow (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflowlite&hl=en) will allow you to work around this issue.
For each notification type (within Light Flow) there is an option to toggle "Vibrate in call".

Lg g6 dial tone

Hi, looked thru the menu but could not find anything to turn off the dial tone when dialing a number, its annoying as fucc, thought I would give LG another chance but with the late updates and other things after this phone I'm done with them.
Can we turn it off or no?
thanks
Yes you can. Go to settings then sound and then sound effects. You will have an option to disable dial tones.
