Hi guys
I know how to port roms fom here and there.
I have portes lots of the but the thing in common was the devices have almost same specifications.
But today i want to port cm 12.1 for s2 to core 2.
Core 2 is quad core amd s2 is dual core and lots more difference.
Core 2 has 4.4.2. As stock s2 have 4.1 as stock.
So can i port the cm 12.1 rom for s2 to core 2
I get this error when i try to flash it

I have done it but none of the cyanogen app supported the chipset
Forget that dream as i did.
Now i am porting 11 and some of the apps are supported.

What did you mean by 11? Are you porting cyanogenmod 11?
Yep o actually ported but most of apps force closed and only very few ran correctly.
Now a days i am downloading 10.2 to port it to core 2.
I also made my own custom rom lollikat core 2. It have deodexed apps (framework and systemui is not deodexed). Lollipop apps and look and feel(not the notification dropdown menu. Its the stock one). Changed to lollipop lockscreen and launcher. But have a CWM recovery and stock kernal. Xposed installer and lollipop modiles pre installed. But it depends on user to configure it. Used lollipop keyboard,messemger,camera,gmail,drive,play store,google music and some other apps as system apps.
Rom works 100% with no bugs.
But its 500mb and i did not have that much datvto uplode it.
I use vodafone 3g 175mn for 7 days.
Thats enough to guide my friends on hangouts. Whatsapp. Facebook. And reply to posts on xda.

You have to errase the asert line in upater scrip the asert lines is like this:

You can't flash other rom in other devices

Hello all xda'ers, its me again with another ported rom This time is Slim Bean based on CyanogenMod 10. Do remind that I DID NOT make this rom, i just port this rom from Slim Bean 4.1.2 for Galaxy SII (GT-I9100G). Thanks to CM10 Beta 3 by Diego-ch, Slim Bean by mnazim and all developers involved. The reason i ported this rom is to add variable option of rom based on cm10. I know that there are still bugs from cm10 that did not fixed yet by our developers, but later in the future any update from base will be intergrate here in this rom.

YUP! slim = faster.. you can try this rom
To fix the busybox issue you need to copy the busybox file in the xbin folder from the port ROM to your base ROM :thumbup:

after i installed several apps, amount of used ram is around 350-400mb

Bro its not about noob thing
Thing is other devices that got jelly bean 4.2.2 update leak or officially included with them new pit file,new bootloader.so for safety reasons
I needed to confirm because if you are not a "NOOB" then you would know that messing with above two things it would hard brick your device.
You know there is no cost for confirming things in case of doubt!

Prepare Odin flashable CWM recovery. Load the *.tar.md5 file as PDA and flash. Do not touch anything else, do not load any *.pit file! Let your device auto reboot to stock recovery to flash the default CSC, wait it reboot and pray... Boot to download mode to flash CWM recovery, use CWM recovery to recover PhilZ Touch.

Oppo find 5 will be officially supported by AOKP yes ...
Afaik maxwen does his own thing and he' s pretty good at it . I doubt anyone will replace him ..
Now lets please get back to the topic .
Is there a reason why TWRP is needed? Just curious Really happy to see official AOKP support. I know sixstringsg was interested in bringing AOKP to the Find 5, so this is super cool! Thanks again.

probably to avoid people complains errors when flashing, like stock recovery will often fail on custom roms

AFAIK stock recovery won't flash custom ROMs at all. But that's no secret that a custom recovery is needed. Just wondering why step 2 says to make sure your using TWRP. Will it not work with CWM?

no crashes here ...
rebuilding rom with a few cherry pick , changed my mind again . should upload before we reach Sept 6th (EST)
Running 24 hrs now, and this ROM is smooth. Having a complication with a BT headset, but it may not be ROM related.

Please be more specific with instalation procedure, because some user may brick his phones if he cames from GB.
Wich recovery we need (custom or stock), where to put these 2 files (internal or external memory) or no mater etc.

yes i tried this 5+ times before .. to port Beanstalk and BS harmony from Galaxy SL & To port rootbox from rox build & mahdi rom from S4 i think .. all bootloop .
but how teamp8 port carbon and worked ? .. they said its same guide

On the S7390 with an Android 4.4.4 ROM this kernel breaks the WiFi feature. WLAN isn't useable at all anymore, nothing happens. So this "stable" text and the title are misleading, as it is clearly not properly working for 4.4.4 ROMs. Tested with Cyanogenmod 11 and Pac Man ROM (Android 4.4.4). I haven't tested it with the standard 4.1.2 Samsung ROM so far. If you are interested in a Kitkat ROM with overclocking, this Cyanogenmod ROM has this included, without breaking WiFi: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-t3320738

Thanks for your answer, but your linked kernel supports supports only the S7392. I tried to flash it anyway, as it seems that someone with a S7390 used it, but I'm unable to flash it. First there is a message that my device isn't a S7392, and then a message with "Error executing updater binary in zip" came up.

Just unzip the file, edit updater-script an delete the followed lines.

use rashar app to flash and reboot here

open zip copy system/lib/modules all files here extract them anywhere
and copy them into same location in device/system/lib/modules using es file explorer
note:- give root permission to rasher and explorer app
