Most likely, it is because your device does not have the internal hardware to connect to those signal bands.

I understand that. However it may not have the attennas needed to pick up 4g in that region. Example:
The Nexus 6 has two models. XT1100 (international) and XT1103 (domestic) If a user of the XT1100 tried to use it in the XT1103 area, it would not get 4g. Understand? I suggest a Google search of your device model specs to see if it is compatible with bands in your current area of use.
---------- Post added at 01:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:36 PM ----------
Otherwise, you may need a different sim card.

the hardware was supported. It's a Snapdragon 410 chipset with 4G LTE world mode. it's Xiaomi who didn't add those bands into the baseband modem. I read some XDA threads about unlocking all LTE bands for Qualcomm Snapdragon chips but I couldn't understand how to add thoae NV values and how to get into the USB settings mode in my Xiaomi device. I need someone with experience to look into this and maybe make some step by steo guide for us. Its been done b4 with oneplusone, oppo, Sony, LG, Samsung phones with success so I knew it could be done.
ok i could be wrong. My friend just brought a moto x to australia and used a process or update to open up some more bands on his phone .

Don't know if you're still wondering, I found out there are two versions of this phone. One is Chinese the other is a Hong Kong version. The Hong Kong version comes out of the box with compatible T-Mobile 4g lte band.

Oh, and as for ROMs unlocking lte bands. I would try the MIUI 5 global ROM. I haven't had a chance to test myself yet but, I would give it a shot. It's the ROM the Hong Kong version comes with out of the box.

I'm still not sure it's possible. I've searched and most people say it's hardware based and ROMs can't change it. If you're already rooted and have custom recovery, you might as well give it a shot and report back.

Same problem here. My carrier uses a LTE frequency not supported by phone. All other carriers are supported, mine is not, frustrating. Installing Mokee (or any other custom ROM, I tried them all) doesn't change a thing. I don't know about MIUI, but don't think it would work.

How is it going now? Have you successfully unlocked B7
I want to unlock B20 and went through all the steps from this guide but no luck
But I did LOCKED B7 which is available originally on my Mi NOTE (dual-sim) to see if the value I set into 6828 is working.
you can have a go to unlock B7 I think

[Q] D80220c - Canada - Mobile Data and LTE Selection

Hey everyone.
I bought my G2 from an online retailer. It's from Europe I believe (D80220C?).
Here's my issue:
When I try to activate LTE in my mobile data menu the only selection is "GSM / WCDMA Auto". Even further, when I install a custom ROM I get the selection for LTE but it does not enter the LTE network. And further again, when I enter the 3845#*802# menu and select "LTE only" from the 'Hidden Menu -> LTE-Only -> Modem Settings -> RAT Selection' menus, I lose my network connectivity completely.
I know my SIM card works because I have an Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy S3 (d2lte) and they both enter the LTE network instantly.
I'm guessing that the problem has to do with the modem. Is it because it is a European device and has no LTE network support in Canada?
I have downloaded close to 10 different ROMs tonight and plan on finding one that suits me as well as try to find one that actually allows me to use the LTE network.
Thanks in advanced for anyone interested in helping me out with this issue.

This is impossible to answer without knowing who your network provider is. Some use different bands than others.
Virgin mobile. The bands are: 1700B4 2600B7, if they share the towers with Bell. My phone is capable of those bands.

Virgin Mobile, so basically Bell.
My guess is that it will be D803 HERE. If you have ROM on your device then check model name under settings->about phone. Should say D803, but it also may be wrong depending on the ROM you flashed.

Mine is the D802. I tried flashing a D803 Bell modem earlier today and that did not work. Had to restore EFS and restore ROM.
Edit: Pretty sure I just bricked my phone. Can't boot any rom now... this is ridiculous. I backed up my EFS and when I restore it does nothing.
Edit2: Nevermind, false alarm. That Bell modem is not going to work for me though. D802 doesn't like D803 basebands
Did you try D802 modem? If not then flash the D802 modems and see if you get a winner

That's the problem though. There is no Bell baseband for the D802, as the D802 is the Intl' phone
Is it possible to modify the baseband to include the frequencies of Bell's LTE network in Canada?

Klte vs kltedv flashing

Hi,
I am currently running albinoman's cm13 Rom from 11 11 2015. I was considering updating to a new build in that thread (don't have the link currently sorry) but it is for klte devices and I am running a kltedv device.
When I first got into flashing mods I wasn't sure what the differences are. Would it matter if I flash klte instead? Would it just mean some features wouldn't work?
Thanks.
Bump / Is this posted in the wrong section?
The phone you are using is a Vodafone variant of S5 (SM-G900M)
The difference between F & M is the support for LTE bands
M Supports LTE Cat4 700/850/1700/1900/2100/2600 (Bands 1,2,4,5,7,17)
F supports LTE Cat4 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600 (Bands 1,2,3,5,7,8,20)
Some roms have support for both M and F variants
But based on your info the rom is for F variant at the moment so there might be some 4G reception issues if you flash the latest release. In rare case your modem/baseband might break.

G900I supports more LTE bands also the Frequency is different for both the models
LTE reception might be an issue if your carrier does not support a particular band/frequency

To simplify if you flash wrong firmware there can be issues in cellular reception
Worst case your phone might get bricked

I take it by bricked it would simply be a soft-bricking, not a hard-brick? i.e. I would only need to re-flash what i am currently running (just making sure I have the correct terms!)

VoLTE Support ROMs

After a lot of search on the Note 3 forums - I am trying to prepare a list of VoLTE ROMs for Snapdragon N9005 LTE Model - 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. Any help to make this list better is appreciated.
1. CSA: SIN - PDA - N9005DXSGBQA1 - Singapore SingTel VoLTE - Jio VoLTE not supported/not able to make it work
2. CSA - XSA - PDA - N9005XXSGBQA3 - Australia - Downlaoding now - will update thread with Jio VoLTE results
3. List WIP....

I am sure, no!
VoLTE are (probably) pre-configured setting/system files latched to the service provider. When moving from one service provider to another, one shall need to download another setting files.
However to contribute other VoLTE roms in Note 3 variants are
TGY rom (with different PIT size)
SK Telecom (N900S/K/L)
AT&T, Verizon, Sprint (N900X)
Australia Optus, Telstra, Vodafone (N9005)

Firmware upgrade for version TA-1103

653/5000
I bought my Nokia X6 (TA-1099) and it came with a Global ROM. After the December update the model was changed to the TA-1083 variation (00WW_3_45B). I would like to get help to change the version of my current ROM to variant TA-1103, since the hardware features are similar and this version has all the LTE bands I need.
It's possible? Do I need to unlock the bootloader? Root permissions? My device does not currently have this.
I've already tried to make the change to Android PIE stock (TA-1103) but the down version update is not allowed (via adb sideload).
can anybody help me?
Best Regards

Hello,
I made a firmware change for the TA-1103 version, however as bands were not unlocked.
With the bootloader already unlocked, I made root in the device and used the "Network Signal Guru" to unlock the bands. It turns out that the bands can not be found. What it is trying to do is another, via QXDM and QPST and LTE Band Calculator, which edit NVConfig. Qualcomm chipsets and chipsets have added security for writing, as the bands are not yet available to me. What is easiest to find is the procedure with a custom kernel.

Hello, Guy!
I used the Magisk method. For this it was necessary to extract the boot file from the firmware version used. The step by step can be seen here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/how-to/guide-how-to-extract-payload-bin-ota-t3830962

It is necessary to use a paid method, which, in my opinion, is worth a lot. You can easily search for it on Google. I have not given up on unlocking these frequencies, though I have tried almost everything.
