[Q] Bluetooth Headset Voice Search - Sharp Aquos Crystal

Hello folks,
I've been a pretty happy owner of the 306SH for about 3 months. Of course, I'm very excited by the push for root on this device. Big "thank you" to all those working hard towards the cause from someone who both lacks and envies your skills.
I have an issue that I haven't seen brought up in this forum. I cannot seem to launch Voice Search (or Google Now) by long pressing the bluetooth headset button. Voice Search is launched properly through a wired headset, though.
What I've tried so far:
I thought that maybe some other app was saved as the default app, so I went through every app in Settings and tapped the "Clear defaults" button for every app possible. That didn't help.
I've also tried 2 different bluetooth headsets with a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and they both launch Voice Search successfully when long pressing the button. The same 2 headsets will not launch Voice Search (or any other app) on the Sharp Aquos Crystal. Both headset work fine with the phone or listening to music. Even a single press will play/pause music or answer/end a call.
I tried both the headsets on my daily driver Sharp Aquos Crystal with update S4081 and I've tried both headsets with a fresh from the box Sharp Aqous Crystal with update SA300. The fresh not updated phone exhibits the same behavior as my daily driver in the previous paragraph.
Has anyone had success launching Voice Search by long pressing the bluetooth headset button? If anyone has advice, I would be grateful. Thanks for reading!

MS Voice Command and Jabra BT200 Headset

Are they compatible?
I've changed the registry to use the voicecmd.exe file instead of the inbuilt Voice Dialer (which I must admit, I never tested with the Jabra!)
But when I press the Jabra button, I hear a noise in my ear but it doesn't seem to activate anything on the MDA Pro itself...
What am I doing wrong?
Have you got the lid closed? If the screen is closed it doesn't work.
This is mad.
If I press the button on my Jabra, I now hear that the voice path is activated but saying "help" into the Jabra mike doesn't do anything. No "mike" icon on the device (lid is open) and nothing happens.
However, with this voice path open, if I then press the voice command button on the device, everything works through BT. I hear the woman and can speak to her.
However, pressing buttons on each device seems a very silly way of doing it.
I should be able to press JUST the headset button, right?
I use the same hardware without issue
I find some commands dont work so well over bluetooth - but call seems to work OK!
I find the built-in mike is better to practice with first THEN try with the headset
I use DIAL <name> at HOME or on mobile etc and this seems OK
My only ***** is than on both BT and the device the VC voice is too low!!
While I remember to 200 Headset supports two profiles - I find the basic one works better with VC (that way you dont accidentally redial if you double tap the button!)
Found the problem. I reinstalled the VC software with no joy, so checked the reg entry. I was missing the space between "Voice" and "Command", so no wonder it wasn't working...
I would have expected an error of some kind instead, maybe... but at least it is solved now.

Issues with original wired headset

G'day xda-dev's,
I hope you can help me (and a lot of other fellow X1 owners) with a strange phenomenon regarding several x1 + original wired headset.
1.) Pick up a call with the button on the microphone housing. It does not work for many X1 users. Only work around: plug in headset while telephone is ringing. After that you can pick up calls with the headset-button; until the next soft reset. Then you have to do the procedure again. Rather annoying to call oneself every time you leave the house and you want to use the wired headset.
2.) Blow into the headset's microphone and the phone will terminate (hang up) your ongoing call. Check it out, it works on many units.
3.) Microsoft voice command. The microphone button does not trigger voice command. Very sad about this since it would be very useful when your phone is burried underneath layers of warm winter clothing. Anyone having the same observation? BTW: VC works with my bluetooth headset seamlessly.
I searched this forum and I could not find any thread or fix regarding these issues. Anyone who can help?
Thanks!

It's happened to me too. In my case, when I make a call, the microphone that active is the handset one not the headset like it should be. I have to raise the handset to my mouth while speaking. This is very frustrating.
yes, i have the same problem...
and like kanthai the mic that works its the mic of the pda and not from the headset...
Complain to SE about it then.
i bought the phone outside mi country and i havent support
is there any solution to the problem described by the op known by now?

I experienced the same problem of your Item 1.
I took both my headset and the phone to the SE service centre for checking. They told me this is a bug and the problem can be resolved by inserting the headset jack very slowly into the phone. I don't know why but it works for my phone.
SE said needs to wait for an updated firmware to fix the bug, although no one has any idea when it will be
Same here
SE needs to fix this for us!!
But we got a cool way to end a call....blow in the mic! LOL

[Q] How to make LG HBS-730 Bluetooth work?

How can we make the LG HBS-730 Blue tooth headset/headphone work with the LG G2 (clearly an aptx phone too)?
LG Voicemate shows "connected device does not support Bluetooth voice recognition"
With Stock ROM but rooted phone
1. It pairs etc just fine BUT the call button appears to do nothing?
2. Assuming we can get the call button to work how to get google to be the dialler (not sure what default is as headset/phone's call button appears to not function)
The Tone+ are compatible with the G2, By hitting the call button on my set I get the stock android voice control.
If I swipe up from the home button I can just say "ok google" through the tones and it works.

huh? how is it possible that yours does that yet mine doesnt?
all the other buttons work except for the call button
Mine works perfect. Works with AptX too after I forced that enabled on my phone. Voicemate and Google. Phone button brings up stock android voice commands. VS980.

hmmm wonder if Verizon has slightly different software?.....
How did you force it to work with AptX and why force it when the box clearly states AptX? (least the AU model D802TA does)

I'm on LG-D800 AT&T and aptX was not enabled when I bought it. Maybe yours is. Look at this post on how to check is aptX enabled or not and if not how to enable it. BTW, I'm on CleanROM and call button on HBS730 initiates voice dialer.
I forgot a link;

thanks alex I went ahead and followed those steps.
I also unpaired and repaired the device and now HOLDING the call button down (as opposed to just pressing it) autocalls the last number dialled. hmmmm
Voicemate still doesnt recognise it
That is how holding the button is suppose to work. Given it a couple quick clicks? There is a slight lag every once and a while due to sleep. Odd yours is not working... Also, Verizon's isn't displayed or enabled out of the box.
Steamer
On HTC One just have to click it once (not hold it down for a second or so).
Just checked and on CM single click does result in voice dialler popping up etc ie working properly hmmm

There is one more thing you should try on stock ROM. Disable Voice Mate. It's useless anyway. Maybe LG HBS730 is having a conflict with it.
The native way the button works for redial is hold... I may be confused as to what you meant. I use the Tone+ every day. A single quick push works 99/100 times for me for voice command. That is very odd, works all over for me. I am on Verizon's variant though. Yeah, Voicemate is subpar to Google's search, and Google searches the phone anyhow. Its only useful to make fun of, or I have just yet to find out any good use.

I just did this and it's amazing solution for me. Maybe it will work for you as well. With press of the call button on your Bluetooth headset you'll start Google Now Voice Search. From it, you can dial, redial, navigate, play song or album, launch app, search the Web,... Even works with screen off.
Voice Mate? Nah... Google Now Voice Search is much better solution.
Look at post #30.

Thanks! Now I can use Now instead of ****ty voice dialer.
2 simple commands is all I need

Thanks this worked perfectly but the fact is Google Now doesn't work well.
What I would like to see is when I push the Bluetooth button on my headset, it opens the Voice Mate application.
I really just want to be able to say:
1. "Play Music" to start shuffling through my on board music, or Google Play music either way (it's all the same)... Google Now can't do this at all as much as I've tried saying "Listen to <song/band/album name>".
2. "Call so and so" to make phone calls. The system Voice Dialer App works better for this than Google Now.
Google Now may work better in general if I am actively using my phone with my eyes and hands but to me the idea of using voice commands is so that you don't have to look at or touch your phone. My Lg Tone + opened S Voice no problem on my SAMSUNG Galaxy Note II (on older version of Jellybomb... 12.1 I think it was)... Why does the LG Tone + not open Voice Mate by default on the LG G2? I don't get it... this seems like a given for LG.
That's enough ranting lol. I love this phone so far. Anyway if anyone can bump this to a developer or something it would probably be relatively easy for a smart person to fix... I am dumb I just follow the smart people in this world
Thanks yall! I hope we can figure this out.
My testing with Voice Mate and Now has reverted me back to stock commands. Just works. None work well enough.
Yea G Now and Voice Mate both don't work that well but for simple commands like "Play Music" and "Call Steve" Voice Mate works fine.

[Q] Very specific problem with voice dialing from bluetooth headsets

Hi everyone,
First off, I'd like to start by wishing to everyone happy Holidays!
I have been literally searching all over the Internet for any information regarding the issue I am about to describe in detail and since no solutiuon was found, there's nothing left for me to do but ask for help, and hopefully get the right answer. That's why I want to be as specific and informative as I can.
The problem I am having is this; I recently purchased a new Jabra Motion bluetooth headset and decided to start using the voice dialing function on my Galaxy S4, since it works very well (when it works) and is really a breeze, especially while driving.
In short, the problem is that the S4 completely loses audio (other party hears nothing as well) after initiating a call, via voice dial commands through any bluetooth headset (I'll get to that). When that happens, the phone has no in-call audio whatsoever (with headset on or off, with speakerphone or earpiece on), no matter how many times I start or receive a call and nothing brings audio back, except a reboot from the i9505's power button menu. All other audio works, like videos, unlock sounds, ringtone, music, even the little chirp right before the other party's phone starts ringing and the hangup chirp can also be heard. The worst part is, that it occurs completely at random, it can happen on the 1st time I voice dial or the 10th time, for example. The problem has not shown itself, when initiating a call normally or picking up with a headset connected, before audio gets lost.
Before purchasing the Jabra Motion I've been using an earliest model Jawbone Icon and had never even tried the voice dialing feature on any previous phones or the S4. After encountering this problem I tried to test whether or not it would happen when using that headset, the result was yes, so it is safe to say it will happen when using any bluetooth headset, with the same randomness.
This is what both headsets launch on the phone, when attempting to voice dial:
View attachment 2474439
The phone itself is a completely stock and un-rooted 16GB Galaxy S4 i9505, running the latest available Jelly Bean 4.3, build: XXUEMJ7.
The headsets are always connected to 2 devices simultaneously (in case that might shed some light)
What I've tried so far (no difference made, at all):
- Toggled bluetooth off and on
- Tried unpairing and re-pairing both headsets on both phones, or only on i9505
- Tried factory resetting both headsets
- Tried to toggle, while in call, between speakerphone, earpiece, headset, turning off headset and all possible combinations
- Removed Jabra companion app and services app, then reinstalled, then tried without the apps installed.
- Cleared cache from both Jabra apps.
- Cleared cache from system apps such as dialer, bluetooth and Google Search.
- Contacted support of both Samsung and Jabra (huge waste of time)
Sorry for the very long post, but I want to be clear and comprehensive as possible. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Please no factory reset suggestions, I am aware of that possibility, but do not want to go through all the trouble to set up tons of apps and stuff again.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help!
Anyone?
Please?

[Q] GM-S900I - Use Included headset with S Voice / Google Now

Hey guys,
sorry for starting a new thread, but I have searched the internet for days now and don't seem to be closer to a solution.
My problem is this: I am trying to use the (wired) headset that was included with my Galaxy S5 (GM-S900I) with any voice assistant (S-Voice, Google Now, whatever I can get to work).
While my phone is active / unlocked I can long-press the button on the headset to open S-Voice, however I do need to then press the "microphone" button or use the voice command (Hello Galaxy) to activate S-Voice (which should IMO be unneccessary, why else would I long-press the headset button?).
Once my phone is locked / in standby (with fingerprint lock), the screen lights up as soon as I long-press the button on my headset, yet nothing happens and no matter what I do, I can't get the device to listen to me / do anything.
I recently rooted my phone in order to try and fix this issue with eXpose modules etc., yet that also didn't help.
I also tried several apps including headset button controller and switch for S voice, but they dind't seem to help either.
Thank you so much for your help and suggestions, so far this forum has been more than awesome!
