Lucky! I am still waiting to get the update and I am a soak test member too.

Somebody please share

king root method
King root method does not work. I'm not sure if the $20 root method works. Everything is fast and smooth.

ughhh i want it!!

The Motorola feedback network application is nonexistent. I'm also unable to uninstall back to kit kat. There's no beta warnings. Software status says "official" and not "soak". Works fine on other networks if you bought the phone straight out like I did.

How would I know if it's a soak test or not? I can't find anything pertaining to that anywhere. I don't mind giving feedback if I am participating. How would I know if they chose me for soak test? I read about it but I could never figure out how to sign up for the last one so I just moved on with life. Then out of the blue I'm waxing floors and I thought it was a message. Are they rolling it out?

You would know if you signed up for the soak.
The idea is to test the software and if all is well, its the version sent to everyone else. The changes you are looking for would require another recompile and additional testing.
Its possible they are rolling it out en masse as well. It won't be the first time Moto started a soak and they just decided to release it to the public anyway at the same time.
With as much publicity as Moto is giving it, I'd say they already made up their mind and are passing the soak to rollout for everyone.

I would discourage root users from trying this. King root method doesn't work. I haven't been home to test mofo, but the ROM would be kit kat.
I've browsed facebook, used chrome and Firefox, watched Netflix, charged it, made 4 phone calls, sent a few text messages with hangouts, data works, pof app works, my games ask seem to function. I also see slightly better battery life. The drain isn't as noticeable. It's both slower and faster than kit kat. Bluetooth functions. Google maps works great. Had to drive for work. Google play music works great with beats headphones, the beats driver works fantastically.
So far so good. Unless there's some long-term issue I'm not seeing within the hour and a half of use, I see no reason not to upgrade if you don't root. I don't care about root if the phone is write protected.
Hope you all get it!

I am not certain of you have already done so, but a factory reset will help restabilize everything

I plan on it when I get home and back up everything. Hope it doesn't force me back to KitKat.
Update, phone doesn't get as warm. Getting used to the new ui... I like it.

Has anyone found any sign of multi users or guest users yet? I can't find them, and was really looking forward to it!

If it is like my other 5.1 device, you should be able to swipe down from the top and tap on your picture to switch users.

you would most likely lose root. also keep in mind you would most likely not be able to downgrade to 4.4.4, but i honestly don't know if that's true. this option hasn't been tested yet. there was a post by someone previously that hinted that they were able to flash a system image via mofo and it worked.

Didn't work. Gotta flash back to stock. Any way of flashing back to stock and keeping data?

There is no downgrading from an ota of any sort without flashing an older image.

Facebook Integration, what is it, and how to get it back..

Hello everybody,
Recently I went on a hunt to find the missing link in the Facebook integration of our Topaz and Touchflo. As it turns out HTC decided to not enable it in the Topaz versions.
So what is it? What does it do? Well it takes the contacts stored on your phone, and links it to the contacts in your Facebook Profile. And what it does from there is give you their profile photos for your contacts, their birthdays, events, and a link to your own Facebook profile, with icons for new messages, pokes, notifications, etc.
Heres a few screenshots.

Now as far as how to get it running,
Personally I used XBMOD fix first and then used Bbonzz fix and it works. But I reccomend to try bbonzz's fix first as it should be the only one needed to make it work, otherwise I re-uploaded both here.
Credits go to XBMod for the VGA ports, and fixes (which sometimes work for us too. )
and to bbonzz who managed to get a fully working, installable fix for it.
Let us know what your experiences are, what works, and what doesn't. Enjoy!
Yup works, cheers
Tried the 2nd CAB first and seemed to work, get the tab but I'm not seeing any updates. Profile pics work ok tho, just don't get any updates.

just seen one status update for one contact! wondering if only new updates appear after install? To be honest, wish I hadn't installed it.... it's a bit of fluff really! Not of any real use! Can I uninstall?
[EDIT]You can uninstall.... just use the normal method.[Edit]
Wow, I've been wanting this since I found out it didn't come with the phone.
If they enable the social features on the TP2 and not the TD2 that's odd. I gigure TD2 is the social phone and TP2 the business one.
Thanks!

THanks for this. I'm pretty impressed with it. It maybe a gimmick but i'm pretty happy with it.
It good to be able to link your facebook friends with your contacts and get the profile pictures...
Seems to get a little confused sometimes though...
Nice find
I've installed this but when I try to login it says login failed? Does the thing not automatically connect to the net? (I do have data connection turned off in comm manager maybe thats the reason)
EDIT: Ok got it working after turning on my data connections... it's found pictures for 2 or 3 of my contacts but for the rest it can't seem to download the pics... anyone else getting this?
Yes, I believe that you need the data connection on for it to work. I don't know why.
Status updates? really? it does those too? which screen? I have been using it to just link to profiles and get the photos.
Off subject, I can't wait for 6.5 on our TD2's with marketplace.
Edit:, oddly enough i do see statuses on contacts... but ONLY if i use the (insert real name here) letter scrolling on the contacts. And it seems very very buggy.
I hope that a DEV or even the release of the rhodium can fix this.

Yes, I have the same experience. Bizarre. I got updates on another page somewhere once. Buggy, but nice to extract the pictures. But I do wonder if it uses data everytime you open up All Contacts. Not so good for those with a limited data plan...

I'd be interested to know if it connects everytime you access contacts too. I only have a limited data plan and only really want it to update from facebook when I'm connected to WiFi
It shouldn't do it only does that when you hit update afaik.
Okay so I got all the statuses and whatnot working on a Rhodium rom on the Raphael, but I can't get any of the pictures to link up. Anyone else have the same problem, and possibly found a fix for it?
Edit: Scratch that, spoke too soon, just took a while to link I guess, but I'm only getting it for one contact?
A specific Facebook application for Windows Mobile was launched todayish. OK, so it's not integrated to TouchFlo3D, but it is pretty good and offers a lot of functionality.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/facebook.mspx
I'm trying out this new WM Facebook one you linked but seems to be really slow and hangs on me any idea why?? doesn't require a soft reset after install does it?
Having similar issues. I think the Facebook integration is fantastic and for the most part works pretty well...it's just that about 2/3'rds of my contacts don't have photos being imported. Wonder if there are any logs...? It seems to say "updating" for a contact and then time-out? Could be connection issues or maybe a friends photo is too large/not the correct format?
The WM Facebook app works fine for me, but then I'm not a 'friend junkie', so I only have about 20 friends. Maybe it struggles if you have hundreds of friends. Maybe it's time to cull all those friends that aren't really your friends, just people you once knew 20 years ago!

Hi!
I installed it yesterday afternoon, tried to log-in for a couple of hours but it only worked this morning. I have already chatted with a friend using whatsapp on iphone! Cgorki, thx for sharing.
I've been running and using it for almost 6 hours now with mobile internet always on and listening to music but when I go into battery usage this doesn't show up. Does this mean that it doesn't use battery or is there something else? It doesn't seem to drain a lot of battery because I still have about 85% left.
Thank you..
...well they obviously developed an app which charges your battery instead of draining it
I also have no problems communicating with iPhone users, also able to attach maps links, voice messages, pictures and videos
Uh, is this supposed to be distributed? I thought it's still a close beta.

When the owner provides a direct Link to the apk on his own servers, it doesn't really look like a closed beta.
Loving it. Thanks so much
Still random disconnects when sleeping. It only works after app and service are restarted.
Had it on the iphone, works great. I have been waiting for this for months and months now, but they still don't want to make it final. Either they are slow, it is just too hard to work with without the push thingy á la iphone.

well if you develop for android, you develop for more than only one device like for iphone, thats why it takes longer... btw. I can not confirm disconnects while phone is in sleep mode...
Update was released today, you can update the app via the built-in updater

Yes I noticed the update. I am using wifi only for this week. From next week on, I have a new contract with mobile data. Maybe there is a problem connecting after a while of disconnecting.

That's weird, I receive messages without ever opening it first, straight after booting and completely leaving the phone alone.
Under settings it always says service has started right on the minute that I booted my phone
*edit* Sorry I think I misread you, last night it gave me the option to install the latest version, and the change log said it fixed many random crashes, so far running great. But I'm sure you've upgraded
so far i can NOT use it, says auth failed.. any tips?
if you want the auth to run, email the support (even if the app says do not!) I did that and I got my access about 2-3 days.

mailing them will do nothing, I'm pretty sure they didn't put you on any "beta list"
you get your access just by trying to contact their servers, after hours/days your phone is successfully registered, thats what me and many other users have experienced.
I must have sent 14 messages untill I got through. Dont try it more than once, keep trying every couple of hours. Or even the next day. Once you get the auth, all reinstalls will be good to go.
Has anybody read the EULA?
It's talking about a "free trial period", and then a subscription fee per year.
Is that the same with the iPhone-app?

Sprint's new emergency alert system on any 4.1 NS4G roms

I was playing around with some different aosp roms the other day and I thought since the new emergency alert system Sprint was so kind to give us in the 4.1.1 ota update is such a great new feature to have maybe I should try to get it to work on a rom other than the OTA. Well, it turns out it 'just works' by default!! The app will not install the traditional way, but if you copy it to /system/app and change permissions to rw-r--r-- it works! For those wondering what it is, because I had no clue about this:

FEMA wow, no way is this coming near my phone, eff that
YAY! Now I can be informed via Klaxon that rain sometimes causes flash floods. If you use this, keep your phone on mute or people in theaters and conference rooms will hate you. Personal embarrassing experience talking here.
I would be okay with it if you could shut off the alarm. Trust me, it's nothing like any other notifications else that exist on your phone. I want to know about Amber Alerts, and very severe weather events, but this appears to be all or nothing. Imagine the chaos if everyone had this on their phones and they all went off at once, which I assume must be the intent. Talk about shouting fire in a crowded theater. Not well thought out, but neither is FEMA.
for the record this was on an epic 4g touch, i assume the same behavior on anything else unless the federal govt is building device specific apps

did you not see the screenshots I posted?? There are toggles for different types of alerts. And you can turn notifications off, as well as test notifications. Also, if you don't like your alarm notification, just change it. We live in a world where rooted phones are possible and you can do these things It's as easy as swapping ogg files!
no, actually i did not, thank you for calling my attention to them. apparently pictures get cut out when i access xda from behind a firewall, literally looks like there's nothing there on pc, but tapatalk on my ns4g has them. Maybe they are getting it right, I will have to take another look at it. When I found it on my nonrooted e4gt, it looked nothing like this.

Great rom.
I tried playing around with it and for some reason it wont work.
Idk i really want to have this feature but for some reason i cant figure it out.
Lets just review.
I move the apk to /system/apps.
Then fix permissions to rw--r--r.
Reboot
Fix permissions in cwm.
Reboot check settings?
Is there something im missing?
Try accessing it from Messaging app. Hit settings.
If I can find some time this afternoon I will flash RBJ and see if I can figure out what's up
I will also look into it also but not for myself, lol. I hate the alerts.
This works on today's port off rasbeanjelly for ns4g by rustyjay. I used root explorer to move the apk to system/app, changed permissions to rw-r--r--, and rebooted. No need to go to cwm.

Awesome, thanks for this!

[APP][ROOT] Scheduler for Whatsapp v2.1

ROOT PERMISSION NEEDED, 4.1 or above
Hello everyone, some days back I was searching an app to program some whatsapp messages, and I found 1 or 2 apps, but are so hard to use and takes so much time so, I made this app thinking that to create a new messages not takes a lot of time.
The app is very easy to use, you only need to pick your contact, write the message and select when you want to send the message. Take care, because the app is a BETA version for now, but I need some feedback on other phones, obviusly, you need ROOT PERMISSIONS.

Yes mate, for now is only compatible from 5.0 and above, but when it works okey in 5.0 I will make it compatible with below versions, anyway thanks for try the app
Edit: The app works okey from 4.0 and above I think, but not works always. The problem is that this app needs to reconect from internet to force whatsapp to update the messages and I can only do that from 5.0 (using internet data, not wifi).
Version 1.21, compatibility from Jelly Bean
In this new version must work from android 4.1, but take care, if at the moment to send the message you are not connected to wifi, the message will be delayed. I will fix this problem as soon as possible.

case 1: i have data enabled and i connect to wifi without disabling data.
case 2: i have data connection disabled and i am connected to wifi only.
case 3: i haven't subscribed to a data plan, only wifi is available & connected to.
will this app work in such scenarios? or, is a running data connectivity a must? please clarify.
and, please make this facility available for sending msgs to groups also. thank you.

Thanks for this questions are very interesting.
I gonna explain the conditions, are very easy:
If you are connected to WIFI, the app turn off the wifi and reconect again in 5 seconds.
If the WIFI is off then turn off data and reconect in 5 seconds.
I think with this two conditions I maneged the comun scenarios.
I will work to add group messages.
You have any other idea to add to app?
Thanks!
Version 2.0
Hi, I'm here again, I uploaded a new version to google play solving the most popular error.
- Now if you have not the sqlite3 file, the app will automatically add it to your xbin folder.
- New design.
- Solved problem with some country phone number.
- Now you can modify manually the phone number.
If you see any error contact with me please.
Thanks!

I need some testers, some people is reporting that not works :S, but I don't know why...
New version
I found the main error with the sqlite3 file, so now must be working on all rooted phones, I hope.
Is very important to download the new version if before was not working.
Thanks.
UI interface looks nice.. Got FC on selecting contact, so haven't really got to test actual scheduled message. Running CM13 on LG G3.. Good luck with your app

Android for Work compatibility?

I've done quite a bit of searching, and input every search term I can think of, but haven't been able to find an answer to this question: Does anyone know if the Zenfone 2 Laser ze551kl supports Work Profiles for Android for Work?
*EDIT* -- I figured out a way that people can test to see if their phone natively supports Work Profiles (required for Android for Work using Google's MDM): Test DPC, Google's profile test app for developers. If you (or anyone else reading this) is able, could you download Test DPC on your ze551kl and at least go through the initial steps in setup? If the phone doesn't support Work Profiles it will through up a message saying as much (tested the app on an s4, which got that error message) in the first few steps of the setup.
All more general searches I do only bring up results for the recent firmware update that added support to the ze551ml (not the ze551kl). When I narrow the search enough to exclude that model from the results, I only get results for lists of articles or queries that have separate, unrelated posts for ze551kl and Android for Work.
It's too bad all manufacture's don't just include support for the Work Profile (i.e., the AT&T S4 I currently use issued as a work phone still doesn't support it).
So -- does anyone know the answer to this question? I'd really appreciate it.
Its got the ability to have different user profiles, but I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to. Is it an app or would it be in the settings menu somewhere?

It's a bit different than user profiles, but similar.
http://arstechnica.com/information-...r-work-dual-persona-support-comes-to-android/
It essentially creates a containerized section on the phone for Google Apps for Work. You end up with "two" hangouts, gmail, contacts, etc (which is nice, because it removes the account from switching account options in apps -- like when you share to Hangouts and it makes you select an account everytime if you have more than one). Instead of the work accounts device policy enabling it to see all apps installed on phone, have permissions to remote wipe, the Work Profile makes it so that the work account device policy can only see information in the Work Profile, and only has permissions to remote wipe the work profile.
I currently use Android for Work on my Moto X Pure 2014, and carry a separate s4 issued by work. I'd like to just put both of those sims into one phone, but I need something decent, that supports data on both sims (data connection active on both at same time not required), that also supports Android for Work.
Gotcha, I don't really see any Android for work options anywhere in mine, is there anything you had to download from the Play Store on your Moto X to get it working?

Unfortunately it's only something you can verify if you start setting up a Google apps account that can use it. Otherwise it doesn't show up anywhere.
I really appreciate you digging around for it though.

Ahh gotcha. If I hear something, I'll let you know. Might be worth a shot to email ASUS about it.

Unfortunately, we have an answer. Maybe there's hope they'll add support with the Android M update?

We can only hope. Really appreciate you taking the time to test it!
Still trying to figure out if all devices on Marshmallow (whether launched with it, or updated to it) include support for Work Profile. Seems like that's the case, but having a hard time finding a definitive answer.

That would be awesome if 6.0 supports Android for work natively, at this point it probably should.
