Random reboots - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've gotten a couple of random reboots while playing games, not enough to be super concerning but enough to make me want to figure out what's going on.. Anyone else seen this issue? I think it has only happened during bomb squad but I'm not positive and its likely just coincidence..

Still Constantly rebooting....

I've been having random reboots ever since.....well, a long time ago. No matter what ROM, kernel, or android version, it still persists. It happens at least 5 times a day. Sometimes 10. It even does it when I have zero downloaded apps.
Now that I'm done complaining, I'd like some help solving this formidable problem. Has anyone experienced the same thing? What can I do to stop it? Etc.
This is with an 8gb WiFi.
Thanks

After a reboot, you can know what cause this reboot with "last_kmsg" log. Look here for how to get it : https://code.google.com/p/tegraowners-ics-rom/wiki/How_to_get_logs
OK I did that. I scrolled through the unending file and at the bottom it said, "no errors found". Does this mean it doesn't know what caused the reboot, or did I miss something?

My nexus 7 rebooted while typing out this reply....so frustrating that this just happens out of nowhere. At least five times a day for me too.
Can't be the rom...I've been on pa 3.0 for a while and it was stable before. I don't think it's the kernel because I've flashed the top 3 kernels and it fixes nothing.
I am thinking it's a rogue app because my nexus is also draining battery very quickly and something is causing non stop wake locks and keeping my device from sleeping. Now I have to hunt down this app out of my 100+ apps
Android can be very frustrating at times

Revert to pure stock and if the problem persists assume that you have a hardware defect. Hardware defects are not curable with software - they are cured by replacement of the hardware. ( BTW, If you ran your device for significant lengths of time at extreme OC levels, you might have caused the damage; but that is for you to decide)
Mine has rebooted once in three months - but I could reproduce the crash ( using Chrome Beta on a specific WebGL demo ). That is very different than a spontaneous crash though, so I guess I could say it has *never* happened to me - and I have used the tab extensively every day for those three months.

Has your phone frozen on you yet?

I bought two of these galaxy s fours and also convinced my girlfriend who is a long time Apple iPhone user to switch over. I personally have experience one freeze that force me to restart the phone and hasn't happened to me since. My girlfriend on the other hand I was just getting used to the phone and beginning to like it but then she says her music player would be getting to get stuck and also couldn't answer a phone call because her phone was frozen during this. She said it froze about 3 times now forcing her to reboot.. I'm curious to know how is anyone else experienced this issue I understand that phones can get stuck for several reasons doesn't mean it's defective but I'm still curious to know how many people here have experienced at least one freeze up.

I get frozen once too. I played Zombiewood during 4 hours, and the phone was getting hot, when I try to go to menu, the phone froze, I had to restart.
It happens to me once every day or every two days. I think its an app or two that I have that is not fully compatible with my s4. I have removed a couple of apps that I think is causing the problem.

For the people experiencing it, yes. Can be once or twice a day, or every 10 minutes. No predicting.
Can lead to data corruption, or even damage the OS to the point of not booting.
Note that this is quite real, but obviously not widespread.
Purchase only from a source that offers a very good return /exchange policy.

I have experienced the issue, but uninstalling apps fixed the issue. For example, yahoo mail caused lots of random reboots for me, but disappeared when I removed it.

I bought a nexus 7 and I had a static noise issue but no other one at the moment. I was going to exchange it but my second one had random reboots. Super annoying since it was random.
I kept my original one with the static noise at low volume which now has been running for 2 days straight.

Games exiting automatically during play

has anyone else had a problem where their games would just exit in the middle of playing? it doesn't just switch out, the game completely exits and its frustrating because i have to start all over. i've had this happen several times now while being on the subway underground. i'm suspecting that it has something to do with the fact that there is no service underground because when i play the same games in areas where i have service, i never get this problem. i also never had this problem on my galaxy nexus.
the games in question are Pet Rescue Saga and Deer Hunter 2014. could it be the games themselves and they aren't playing nicely with the G2? i guess they are fairly new games. i'm on the Verizon version and rooted.
Simpson's Tapped Out but also did it on my GNex and it happens on my nexus 7.

does it happen everywhere? for me, it only happens when I have no service.
Happens all the time. I don't think it's an OS issue but an app issue.

Same with Tapped Out. I'm also experiencing really bad lag in Tapped Out but it may be the app. I'm rooted and debloated too.

Lock ups using Snapdragon Note 4

Recently I've been getting lots of hangs when using my note 4.. it's only a couple weeks old.
Sometimes when typing the system just freezes or types really slow, other times when scrolling through Facebook or Skype.
Also when playing music the music stop playing for a couple of seconds then resumes. Streaming does the same.
Using different apps to play music does nothing.
Has anyone else had similar problems?
What would you recommend? Warranty return?
Reset all data?
Love my note 4 but is getting on my nerves slightly now! :banghead:
