Admob and Android 2.1 - Mobile Ad Networks

I need some help.
It looks like the latest Admob only supports Android 2.3 or newer but I am developing an app that needs to run on Android 2.1 and newer.
I tried to look for a slightly older version of the API but couldn't find a place to download it anywhere. Does anyone have a copy of the admob API that will work
with with Android 2.1? Or any good alternatives?
Thanks

platform builder

Hello
I was wondering if the platform builderr IDE from windows is free?
i tried to search for it on their website but could not find it, just found the updates
It is not free, but there is an evaluation version for 180 days (if I am not mistaking). Sorry, don't remember the link, but it's there somewhere.
P.S. Any images built with it will only work for a year I think.
Yeah, it's hardly worth downloading, but the trial version suffices for most of our needs. Buy from MS's website.

thanks for the reply
is there anything comparable which is available for free
No...
Exactly what do you want to do?
Build a ROM for a new device from scratch? If so then you have no choice, you must by the PB.
But if you only need some of its functionality like creating MUI for localization, perhaps we can recommend an alternative. Just tell us what you need it for.
FYI, the platform builder trial can't be used to build a rom for our devices, from scratch. You require the system drivers etc that only the OEM (ie HTC) would have available. Or some very very very well connected friends.

Platform Builder available from MS site can be used to build only WinCE 5.0 ROMs. Windows Mobile ROMs are build with Platform Builder 5.0 for Windows Mobile (or something like that). MS regularly releases updates for it in the form of AKUs.
Unfortunately PB for WM or AKUs are nowhere available for free, and their price is too huge.
And even if you'l get them, you'll also need a BSP for your device. It is extremely difficult to create it from scratch without having any hardware information, but Linux source code for your device can be useful.

[Q] 1.5 / 2.2 QVGA Issues

I was developing with Android 1.5 api and I published an app to the market.
However , one of my friends told me that he can't find my app on the market.
His phone is running Android 2.2 and having a QVGA Screen.
I tried with an emulator running Android 1.6 QVGA and the same problem was noticed.
I tried to google for the solution and it seems that I don't have correct keywords to specify the problem.
I know I can use supports-screens android:smallScreens="true" , but not for 1.5
Do I need to develop with 1.6 api to support all kind of screens? Or do I just need to include some more at the manifest?
Sorry for my poor English.
I can see no one answered my question, is it because I am reading with a QVGA screen?(Joking)
Please Help.
You need to build the project against the 1.6 API (you can do it in a way that is compatible with 1.5) to support various screen sizes with supports-screen.
The whole process consists of right clicking your project in eclipse, changing the API to build against, adding proper values to the manifest and exporting the app.
It's pretty well explained on the android developers page, but if you can't get it working, I'll post a step by step guide once I get to my laptop (later this day).

Firefox OS for Android One (a.k.a. Sprout)

Firefox OS for Android One (Sprout) Phones
Anyone built already a flashable .zip file or .img files for Android One (Sprout) smartphones? Anyone can upload the latest version here? I'm not of a techy type of person but it seems like a lot of Android One users are looking for an easy installable ROM for their Android phones. Like this for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/flashable-firefox-os-rom-android-one-t3160682
I found this link: https://github.com/b2g-sprout/ however a lot of them are not technically enough and even I don't even know what to do with these files even though I have already tried using Firefox's instructions and some other articles on the Web about Porting FFOS. Full instructions on how to build Firefox OS from the files on the given link would also be appreciated. And also an example on how to update them for the latest version. Thanks for all willing to help...
