[Update] Root MT7-L09 lollypop rom with SUPERSU (should also work on other devices) - Ascend Mate 7 General

Hi guys, i wanted to share how to root the new lollipop beta rom. This method should also work on other devices and android versions
I have rooted lollipop with kingroot apk (latest version) without problem. No supersu or superuser but with kinguser. Works great as i have restored 228 apps with titanium backup without any problems! For now this kinguser is good enough till there is a cwm available to flash supersu
Get the apk here:
https://mega.co.nz/#!69hUBYqI!xg2KcP4e_W7R4ISh7msiDNkxCYgDEiQ-evzRWU_kW_c
To replace kinguser with supersu do the following :
Download this: https://mega.nz/#!i4w2DYbJ!V8Xycq8kIXhGompu0agHD5b9ANwQmYxt_Mqrs9pZuN0
Send the extracted folder "mrw" to the internal storage of your device and make sure that this folder contains 6 files
Open Terminal emulator and type :
Su
Allow root permission
Type :
sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh (sdcard or sdcard wherever you put the files)
It might display some error, at the end it will launch supersu or open supersu manually.
Update su binary normal, then reboot.
Supersu credits to mrwolf

It was already unlocked by me with 4.4. I unlocked it with a little help of an german site. Just google for it, i think it should work on 5.1 too. Keep in mind that unlocked bootloader could get you warranty problems. Use it on your own risk

Can any one how have root can take stock recovery from lollipop and upload me. Use flashify.apk from Google Play. Thanks

Don't forget to accept installing kinguser else it would never succeed. Did you also enabled usb debugging? And unknown sources? On mt7-l09 it should work (reported by several users) with everything stock

Does anyone know if there is a way to use more apps in the Multi-Widow support? To be honest I think it is the best option in the new update, however there are very few apps supported.

Then i don't know what's wrong, did work for me and several others. Is kinguser present? If yes remove all apps related to kingroot, reboot and try again.

Wow but.. any IMEI sent?
Works on M2 KitKat. Nice job finding this
it doesn't fully get root access.when the device reboot you'll need to do it again
solution is grant root access and install recovery to flash SuperSU etc.

Thanks a lot for sharing this.
Tried this app on already rooted phone, messed up my phone and now after making whole correction by hit n trial I cannot update binary of Supersu app. Although root is working after towelroot and supersu give prompt for allowing and denying root access only not updating binary. Any help would be appreciated except a factory reset suggestion.

What i found about this rooting method and how to fix it by change the kinguser to superuser. Just wanna share to you guys.
Iroot and Kingroot are arguably two of the most popular rooting applications because of their efficiency and ability to root most android devices with just a single click.
But the only problem with this apps is that instead of the traditional SuperSU most android users are used to, kinguser is installed instead. Many people are always looking for ways to replace the kinguser with SuperSU because kinguser doesn't grant proper root permission to some apps like cleanmaster, lucky patcher e.t.c
I will be sharing with you guyzz two different methods to replace kinguser with SuperSU.

There would not have been a difference. I tried removing KingUser and replacing it by SuperSU. But SuperSU does not update the binaries. Neither through the app, nor by flashing, even not by using a pre-rooted stock ROM. Seems to be a major error within SuperSU.
Xperia Z2 LP Working, Thx!
That's the dodgy king root app you used, try the beta2.49 version of supersu it's supposed to be the only one to be able to get rid of King user app. Don't think it gives proper root anyway.

Best rooting method? It can be even bundled in the apk itself.
Is it necessary to keep KingRoot after I rooted and switched from KingUser to SuperSU 2.49beta (flashed)? Or is KingUser just for the first process necessary? I just got it all to work on my wifes phone and do not want to start it all over the x-th time.
I too could not update super su binaries. What i did rooted on this.Used nuts dual recovery from pc using rooted by super su option got a pre rooted zip copes pre rooted zip to sd. then rebooted to recovery wiped system partiton .falshed pre rooted zip. seems working fine on my Z2 sofar .xposed etc working well

It is only the system and boot therefore you keep your radios and bootloader intact!

It's working great.

This is what I get after installing a backup from blogspot
Okay, so I restored the backup, but after restoring while rebooting twrp says device does not appear to be rooted. There is a 'do not install button' and a swipe to install. When I touch do not install button, it does not do anything. As if it is not registering that command. So I have to swipe to root. Then it gets stuck at boot. I am on twrp v2.8.5.0

I don't understand what your problem is. You say you wanted to try custom roms. Then why do you have to deal with rooting and debloating. Just unlock bootloader and install a custom rom, which is pre-rooted. You can also install a custom stock based rom also pre-rooted. You don't need root to unlock bootloader...

I am not questioning why you wanted to try custom. My point was you didn't need to bother with rooting to go to custom. All you needed was to unlock bootloader (for which you need no root) and then install any pre-rooted custom rom...

Well it is a though situation with the Z1. I dont want to unlock the bootloader as it will remove the DRM keys and I cant make a backup of the DRM keys without being rooted. One solution could be going back to KK 4.4.4, root with available method then install bootloader and flash new rooted LP 5.1.1 ROM. But to much work setting everything up again so the Kingroot method is the most convenient then replacing with SuperSu. I guess though I am not convinced yet about Kingroot as I am skeptic about what info it sends to China, how it is used and what it installs in root aswell as if it injects any code to for say Google Play Services to gain control even if uninstalled.
Towelroot can you help.
It better then kingsroot because you can set up your own su manager (SuperSU or whatever)
I rooted my Z1 with LP with Towelroot version 1.0 when I have it correctly in my mine.

King root has some really nice features.. and a lot of really bad features.
Plus it feels very un trust worthy.
I want to unlock my bootloader but i'm on 5.1.1... so i need to downgrade first..
Rather just stick to stock at this point and pray kingroot is not evil.

But have you tried to replace it with SuperSu? I reckon there is a thread in this section with a former version of Kingroot and a script that uninstalls Kingroot and installs SuperSu as IIRC the later versions of Kingroot has "uninstall protection" in the way that it may remove the root altogether and/or prevent normal function of SuperSu.

I tried doing that.
Cannot do on new kingroot.
I tried the older one but it would not root.
What now?

C6903.
To be honest.. can someone give me a website that does not auto play 1000000000000000000000000000000000000 vids and rapes my cap.
Not everyone has uncapped.

UB? Not sure. It has recovery, but I don't use an unlocked bootloader device so I can't answer you this.

What you included in SuperSU? I'm pretty sure recroot has to be in recovery. Just want to make sure

Did not bother mentioning that a dummy file was used in the SuperSU field as SuperSU is included in Recrootv4

Oh, sorry. I don't keep track of all these versions.
So then, yes, recovery should be there after flashing.

I use recovery (stick it in /cache or on a USB stick), you have TWRP already, right?
I seem to have lost my recovery somehow, but I do have root access on .575 firmware. Do I just need to install XZDR or do I have to do everything all over again? If former, is it neccessary to do full wipe when installing this firmware?

DO check again, you reboot your device and press VOLUME DOWN like mad and you don't get to TWRP? There is no software app to restart to recovery for MM.
If not, if you have root, do try to install Recrootv4 connected to a PC though.

Yeah tried it two more times, just boots normally. I guess I'll have to repeat everything.
It's not working
