[Update]Facebook group created for XDA members using GS2 . Do join us

//Hey guys I have seen lot of guys on other mobile forum made group on what'sapp to be in touch with each other and on each update.. what say guys we to make a group ?//

why?? its the greatest app ever... always stable and i have people from iOS and BB. perfect app man

Maybe a silly Q, but how do I join a google+ circle?
I my understanding circles are not public ... circles are something u define yourself?

So guys are we making a group on what's app or circle on g+

Whatsapp? Its a bad idea. You would have to divulge your personal phone number. If you are comfortable with doing that there is still the issue of annoying noobs that keep on asking for ETAs. Imagine that, you phone going off every few seconds because someone asks a question that has been answered before or posts "CAN I HAZ ROM PLZ".

Basically you make a new circle and name it Xda and then add all the xda members you can find in the xda circle
Just Search for XDA on google plus, there seems to be a couple of pages out there
You can start adding people who post on the thread to you XDA circle
You will find quiet a few Top Devs there
There was actually a post about this in this same forum if you care to search or will update later

Whatsapp was a bad idea since everyone is required to have each others phone numbers, but why create a Facebook group, surely there is enough of these group pages out there, plus not all of us have facebook.
Surely, there are other alternatives out there, such as Google+ as suggested, Touch (PingChat), Kik, Microsoft Lync etc...

Also, I was thinking of making a Copy.com(just like dropbox) Id so that we all can share stuff with each other(apps can shared by zipping), apps, themes, screenies etc........

Yes. Somewhat like Chatroom.. Whenever a member of group sends message, you will get notification.

What about a google hangouts group? I for one dont use whatsapp

Just use kik instead people... No need to give out any personal information besides your username, you could make one specifically for this purpose. You can easily block people and mute chats if you dont want to be constantly spammed by people in it.

First, no search options. It means every problem, even if encountered before had to be answered again.
Second, notifications. Yes, you could silence them, but it loses the point...
Third, phone number sharing. We don't know each other, why should I trust everyone with me phone number?
