That's a bold opinion. Opinions shouldn't be stated as fact. Your post should have read "I think Newegg sucks, so I would suggest shopping on Amazon."
I buy as much as possible from Newegg, and I've never had a problem with them.
I can also go pick my items up same-day for free, so I have an extra incentive to shop with them.

I have had nothing but good results with NewEgg.

Never had problem with newegg either[emoji45] .. bought my laptop from them last year.. [emoji106]

I have to pay tax with both Newegg and Amazon as they both have facilities in my state. I ordered mine through B&H, no tax.

I've spent thousands on both Newegg and Amazon. Both exemplary. I got my ZF2 from Newegg because of that flashlight thing. NBD, but why not?

I feel your pain. I have to pay tax on Newegg, but can also go to the facility and pick it up same-day, so I don't pay shipping and get it immediately. It's only a few minutes out of my way, so I don't mind going to pick things up. :highfive:

They want you to use a manufacturer warranty with the manufacturer...
So you use this one thing as a "fact" that "Newegg sucks".
Seems like a totally legit argument.

Sorry, but I'm still sticking with it. Newegg does suck when it comes to buying mobile phones.
Why should I go with the manufacturer warranty when I just received a brand new phone which is defective? It should be replaced by the merchant (i.e. Newegg) not with a manufacturer refurb. What makes Amazon so superior compare to Newegg is their return policy. If I buy a phone in the next 30 days from Amazon and it happens to be defective they will replace it a with a brand new one. On the other hand ,Newegg won't

Newegg's return process sucks when compared to Amazon's. Every return I've had to make to Newegg I always have to chat/call with CS and I have to pay for shipping. Amazon has never charged me shipping to return a defective item and I don't have to chat/call anyone. Other than that Newegg is alright, though it seems to me that their super awesome deals/combos are less common now.

I like both but I agree with Amazon's awesome no hassle 30 day return policy. Thinking of getting the ZF2 but worried I won't get LTE with T-Mobile.

Costco All the information you need...

Item Number #566488
Price $589.99 (already knew this)
Arrives March 24th
On sale March 27th
What does this do for you? You can now call your local costco and ask them if they have that item on order. As of right now they are saying no free case in store. Yes this item number is different then online, it always is.
If you order online, does it ship from a central US warehouse? Or from a local store? I'm wondering if I can miss sales tax by ordering online.

Unless Costco doesn't have any presence in your state, you'll have to pay sales tax regardless of where it ships from. And they'll charge your tax based on your shipping address.

Thank you for shopping costco.com. Your current order status is: Shipped.
Just picked up my Xoom from my local Costco warehouse. I got there when they opened. Nothing in the aisle display or on the actual box indicated that it would come with the free gel case, so I asked the person in merchandise pickup. They said I could open the box to see if it was inside it, and sure enough it was.
Our costco says free gel case on the sign and has price of 589. They had a large display with demo. Not many sold at our costco in NJ, maybe 4 or so at noon time.
I picked one up to try it out and see if it can do everything I need it to do.
The case is in the box under everything and is black. There is an insert that says thank you your free accessory is included.
Picked up the xoom wifi from my local costco store. Looks like they have plenty in stock and the free gel case comes with the box.
Staples also had in stock, but best buy was sold out. Wondering if best buy has fewer stock or they are selling really fast

Probably more people aware of going to BestBuy to pick it up, and fewer people who have a Costco membership who will actually want one of these.

Today Costco had 20-30 cards to take to the register.
Yesterday one Staples store said they would have 4 in stock today.
Today one Best Buy store said they got 2 for today.
Honestly, Best Buy having two is not surprising at all. Three of them around me have their Xoom 3G tucked away toward the back, whereas the iPad and everything Apple has its own kiosk. Obvious partnership much?

Asus Eee Pad Transformer cheaper at BJ's than Bestbuy? Yes!

Although I have to agree, being a member of BJ's whole sale club is worth it at times, besides buying food this retail store carries a wide trend of different major company tech gadgets such as Apple, Samsung, Acer, Sony, ect. Recently reviewing a catalog that I received through my mailbox at home, it appears to me that my local BJ's store is having a back to school deal. Either that or this is the original retail price that BJ's has on the Transformer Eee pad. If you happen to own or even plan on buying a Transformer asus tablet I would recommend purchasing it from your local BJ's. Better yet from the looks of it, Best Buys Price Match Guarantee appears to be that if you go to your local Best Buy near you they will and should match the price from another competitor.
Say what? Yes, I know what you’re thinking right about this point...What if the price posted on BJ's whole sales club website is an online special only through BJ's? Well fear not because actually the price is 389.99$ as posted online, on the catalog and in the store!

Below is proof of Best Buys price match guarantee service:
"Buy It Now With Confidence
Best Buy will match the price if you find a lower price on an identical available product at a local retail competitor's store, a local Best Buy Retail Store or BestBuy.com. Simply let us know when you are making your purchase or during the return and exchange period.
The Guarantee does not apply to: Our competitors' website prices, offers that include financing, bundling of items, free items, pricing errors, mail-in offers, competitors' service prices, items that are advertised as limited-quantity, out of stock, open-box, clearance, refurbished/used items, BestBuy.com Midnight Sale and special hour sale events, BestBuy.com Outlet Center and Marketplace items, and items for sale Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving"

Or you could use that $10 to go on a shopping spree on the Android Market or even donate it to a developer
@reuuin88: agreed! except when I saw the TF101 appear on Newegg. There was a $4.99 (or $5.99) shipping fee. This usually happens when new items appear on Newegg. But nevertheless, it was cheaper than Amazon because Newegg doesn't collect sales tax. (dont get me because i like to save money by not paying sales tax )

Be careful...they use to be called "Exoticphones.com"
I'd be careful too...
How can they offer a discount with an ATT plan????
Seems suspicious to me...but good luck if you go with it!
Im only guessing here but I bet a phone vendor could sign you up for ATT with any phone, like an iPhone. Then turn around and sell that iPhone at retail to another person. But give you the 2 year discount on the Note.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Vendor signs you up for a new 2 year contract with at&t. They choose iphone 4s as your new phone. They keep the 4s and sell it for like $600 bucks. They are then able to offer you the note for $599
I would cut the middle man out and just do it yourself if you don't already have an at&t contract or are not in upgrade status.

The contract is only $200 cheaper. If you instead extend your contract with buying an iphone 4s, you'll come out far ahead. You'll pay $200 (instead of $400) and you can sell it on ebay for $600 at least then use that money for the Note. So in effect the iphone route is at least $200 cheaper for the same end result. That is assuming this is legit, and ignoring ebay fees (use craigslist.)
"If it seems too good to be true..."

I also just called them up. I work in NYC and they seem to offer local pickup, so what better way to see if they actually have it in stock then to walk over there...The person that answered said it was out of stock and due back in, in about 2 weeks.
When I pressed for a more specific date, he just said he wasn't sure, but about 2 weeks.
...All kinds of red flags here.

Thanks. I was partially looking at it as a convenience issue (not having to deal with reselling, no fees, no uncertainty of what it ultimately sells for), but you're right, $200, or even $100, is a big chunk for convenience. But ultimately, it's not very convenient if "electropirise" screws you over.

Nexus 7 20% Off Office Max

20% off coupon
This is Office Max in-store coupon for 20% off; it includes tablets and eReaders. Of course, Office Max may not be near everyone, but you can try price matching with Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy in-store.
If in-store doesn't work, you can always try through phone order or online chat. I got the 32gb one for $215+tax through Office Depot chat online (rep didn't let me get the 16gb since Office Max website doesn't show the 16gb one).
Used the same coupon and picked up a 32 gb for $233.89 after tax. Good deal! But OM seems to be OOS around orange county, heard they will get new shipment Monday.

Going to try in a little bit. Will report back but I see no reason why this doesn't work/ Also, living in Florida, computer products are tax free this week for back to school. Other people I have come across have reported that tablets fall under this category, which makes sense.
Damn, nearest office max is 40miles away. Had one been closer I would have bought anew 32gb and return my staples 16gb -$30 coupon.

Very nice! I wished it was tax free in CA. I also bought OM protection plan for 2 years. Anyone have experiences with OMs protection plan? Debating if I should cancel it. The girl that worked there said I can return the tablet in any condition within 2 years and either get it replaced or refunded full amount with a gift card. Sounds too good to be true.

You should see if there is a deductible and whether it covers lost/stolen and physical damage.
$54 off is amazing. I would jump on it before OM decides to exclude certain devices or cancels the coupon. I paid full price at Amazon the first day it went on sale (Friday). Paid $300 for Saturday delivery. Returning it and buying locally would be lucrative. I wonder if Amazon will price match if I call them. Tell them I'm within my 30 days and I can save $54 if I go through the hassle.
Hmmm.
I sent them an Email saying that I am within my return policy and would like to see if they would Price Match the coupon. I linked the coupon and the a image of the scanned receipt. We shall see.

But are you saying if they did give a refund from a price match after sale....and you used a gift card for part or all of the purchase.....you only get $10 back?
I also thought the salesman at BB told me when I was completing the sale, said "You can not return for refund, you can only return for exchange."
Of course it sort of went in one ear and out the other as I thought to myself....why would I think of returning for a full refund.

$259 on Ebay

Newegg is selling black or white for $259 on ebay
I just got ordered one directly from newegg site the other day for $279. I never dealt with newegg before. Do you think they would adjust the price on my original order to $259?
If I return the $279 back, does newegg pick up the return shipping or do I?
Not going to lose sleep over the $20, but if pretty simple process and minimal hassle, $20 is twenty bucks

I couldn't get a price match or credit for my order, so I went the ebay route too. I'm thrilled -- I would have bought it at $299, and surprisingly I find it for just $259. Now I just have to wait. Thursday's the big day!

I have been waiting patiently, but then decided today to purchase of eBay for $259, I was going to wait next week so I price match Best buy, but I don't think they will match it nor stay at $259. Or $279 on NewEgg. Hopefully it s a perfect device. thursday.
Same Route
I took the Ebay route too - at 5 am this morning! No other source will approach this price for some time.
Are we getting Newegg's discards? I don't think so, sealed box is sealed box, and the units are advertised as "New" and nothing less.
Let's swap notes when we get our packages.

Talked to Newegg support chat this afternoon giving them my order number from yesterday's order and after some discussion got a $20 gift certificate on the way via email. Better than nothing and still got the $279 deal. Mine is on the way delivery scheduled for Tuesday. Good luck anyone else with the price matching.
Is anyone worries that there are no returns accepted?
I've got a refurbed N7 on the way right now, but for this price I would return it and get the GPad. The no returns is giving me some hesitation though...

If it's broken they have to accept a return. Per ebays terms. So I wouldn't worry.

It doesn't matter buyer protection from eBay will let you return it if is broken.

That means No Returns if you don't like it. If device not functioning or broken returns are allowed.

You're reading something into the ebay buyer protection program that isn't there. If the item is "not as described" or you didnt received it then it would be covered. Receiving an item with a manufacturing defect is not specified addressed in the terms of the sale and assuming you could utilize the BPP in such a manner would be foolish.
So Newegg doesn't want anything to do with a "I don't like it after all" return, but a new item is covered by manufacturer warranty anyway right?
So it would be more of a pain to deal with manufacturer instead of retailer, but either way you wouldn't be stuck with a lemon right?

Let me share a story that may ease some fears. I dropped my HTC DNA and smashed the screen. Screen repairs are expensive, so I made the mistake of going with the cheapest vendor -- Mission Repair. Not only did they do a shoddy job, gluing the speaker back askew and leaving the red stripes on the side loose, but it was returned with the wifi malfunctioning.
I paid with PayPal (owned by ebay, of course), so I followed their procedures and opened a dispute, where I told my side of the story. Mission Repair actually responded that I should return the unit to them so that they could determine whether there was anything wrong with my phone! Of course this was unacceptable to me, so I escalated the case to a claim, which would force PayPal to intervene. I summed up my story and MR was given 10 or 14 days to respond.
I guess they realized that they had no ground to stand on, because AFAIK PayPal never heard back from them. Right after MR's response period expired, PayPal refunded me the cost of the repair. Well, in the meantime, the problem with my wifi cleared up. I wasn't about to say anything, though, because I felt I deserved at least a response from MR. If the wifi had still been broken, I would have pushed for more than the repair cost.
So, the point of the story is that PayPal and ebay seem serious about resolving disputes. I don't know about ebay buyer protection, but it's easy to get PayPal to arbitrate a claim. If this doesn't put many minds at ease, just look at NewEgg's 99.5% positive rating on ebay.
